Welcome to Gaia! ::

Does anybody else here LOVE animal farm? I fell in love with the book and read it non-stop. It gives you such a clear look of Totalitarinism. This book made me sick to my stomache but i loved it sweatdrop . All my friends hated it.
I didn't exactly LOVE it, but I thought it was a great book. Very easy to read and comprehend.

Shameless Enabler

I love that book! I first read it in 3rd grade, but I read it again this year, and I like it even more. It really gave me a lot to think about.
I prefer 1984, but Orwell rocks in general.

I read it in seventh grade and again in tenth grade. The second time around my teacher completely butchered the meaning. We ended up putting on skits about "what animals really think about". That was the most mind-numbing class imaginable.
I never read the book but I watched the animated version in social class last year.
I don't find that Orwell's books can be loved. Its sort of like a good painting of something repulsive.
On one hand the picture illustrates the thing better than other pictures, but on the other hand, you feel sickened by whats being show to you.

So Orwell tells the truth clearly, but unfortunatly the truth isn't pretty.
The book was good but I saw the TV movie((I was eight mind you)) and it scared me. I read the book last year and found the book to be MUCH better

Thats why i think alot of people dont like it. Becuase it tells the truth and they either dont like it...or aren't interested in it, which is sad.
*ha ha ha* a older thread used to made just for this. I wonder what happend to that girl. Anyways, i like animal farm and it relates to real life politics and everything. Opps...i mean the politic in the United States.
I transfered to my school late in the year and the class was almost done so the teacher said I didn't have to read the whole thing. I decided to start it any way one noght and I didn't end up putting it down untill I was done.

No worries, she'll burn in hell for her terrible sins
I read it in one go at 14.
i greatly disliked it, in school we had to analyze it way to much and it ruined the book for me, and i also found the book is kind of propaganda itself
