A lot of the media is touting how the new backscatter scanners at the airport will let people see you naked. The are circulating the image shown on the right:

When in fact the image on the left is what the examiner will be seeing.

So the question is this....is the media purposely misleading people? Why would the purposely circulate misinformation?

Why are you so shocked? That's what the media always doesn't. My theory is so they can control the airlines prices and just how many people will be willing to go through all that. I mean someone in my family have to be dying for me to get on a plane now. The second more logical choice would be to level up people's fear. You see most of us have "gotten over" the shock of 9/11 and really don't fear airplanes anymore. So instead of using that stupid color danger system they are doing this.

Mainly cause everything is a lie. Thus who cares if it is true or not. Plus most people are dumb anyways.

Let me point out that this is only my opinion. I believe the media has been purposly misleading people for lots of reasons, number one being money. Some news stations are paid to present false information to make money and help the sponsors of that news station make money as well.

Haha, I find it amusing that you are shocked by this. The media in general is misleading, wether by omission, half-truth, or downright lies. It is that way with everything. You are told what the media wants you to hear.

Sad to say, but I think the media owners use their companies to pursue their own political agenda. It is totally wrong and why I don't spend much time on news sources.

The media sways it's viewers based on who runs the station or on the reporters own opinion. If you want to get the least bias news go for something that is on the local scale though it won't have as much information. I don't think the scan is that big of a deal. If it's helping to not get me blown up when I take a plane then I don't mind it.
