Gaia Battle System

Post any theories, updates, and suggestions that you might have!
Updates (what we know so far):
-The best indicator that we have as to a release date is only slightly vague information hinting at a hopeful release sometime this year.
-Job Classes: This feature is rumored to have been thrown out and the 'battle ring' system to serve in class abilities' stead.

-Analysis of 'the image':


-Our eyes are first drawn to the rings at the bottom of the image. These will supposedly serve the purpose of granting stat attributes in place of (perhaps) both 'levels' and equipment. Drawing from this we infer that all avatar items, weapons included, will have no impact on the battle system other than as an added visual effect.
-In support of the statement above there are two things of importance. The first being the boxing glove styled fist which we see extending from the most casually dressed of them all; I infer that it is either a placeholder for future animated attacks or a very grim default animation which will be the visual supplement to all attacks. In the event that his boxing glove shall serve as the default and sole animation then indeed it is unlikely that weapons would have a statistical effect if they do not even influence aesthetics.
-Also, notice the status bar! The health of whichever character's display is shown hangs suspiciously at 100 health points and no indications of an experience bar or level exist. Either such a system has not yet been implemented or rings will be the single and over-ruling means of raising status attributes.
Note: Much of what has been said, while stemming from current fact, is only speculation. I would to hear opinions of your own, although please keep in mind that the battle system is currently only in its most preliminary stages and as such every aspect of it is subject to change.

Your Suggestions:
-PvP (every gamer)
-Make 'battle equipment' which affects stats but is invisible, that way you don't have to struggle in deciding between stat and aesthetic based avatar. Although, perhaps make weapons visible. (xin-chan89)
-Utilize a 'combo' system which will enable you to really "feel the heat of the battle" and apply your finger pressing skills XD (ex. xxyz unleashes one of many special attacks) (wormri)
-NPC wars for special events, perhaps you'll be allowed to 'choose a side' and attempt, with your army, to take the enemy before they take you...let the storyline be dictated by the players (wormri)
-Ability to alternate between classes at will (Blue-Ultimate)
-In addition a base level should be allowed, a relation similar in nature to that seen in Kingdom Hearts 2 of Sora and his Drives. (Armelin)
-Ability to defend/guard against attacks(Blue-Ultimate)
-Equippable pets that will follow you around the embattled world of gaia (Green-Hawk; Blue-Ultimate)
-upgradable weapons/'rings' so that a favorite weapon can be kept regardless of level. (Night_Fire)
-Monsters/pets that will accompany you in battle, they can only be attained through the capture of this pet however. For example...if there's a fox walking about then you could have it drop a "fox harness" at a .1% drop rate or such, and the use of that harness would allow you to equip the pet. (Shindo Tsubasa)
-events which temporarily segregate the gaian community into certain teams; have battle waged from there. (bobby_boa_female)
ex. the aliens, humans, GIB, etc.
-A party system so that you can complete quests and the like with the support of friends. (ArCh_WaRrIoR11)
-Should be able to freely replenish health at your house; perhaps set a timer of 15 minutes the moment you leave your house before you can use it again. Also, if pvp is ever directly incorporated into towns...perhaps someone could receive a strong stat bonus if they're in the same town block as their home so as to kick off vagrants and whatnot. -Honor System which details points earned based upon the difficulty of the player which you choose to fight. (Night_Fire)
--->personal note: perhaps one might lose points with every death so as to prevent a pair of friends from gaining cheap points through free and mutual kills.
-rings can be attached to weapons (vutha_ixen)

-Being given the option of fighting NPCs! (Archbishop_Lazurus)
-In the scourge of battle let there stand pillars of opportunity; castles which stand open to conquer and guild tenure.([Adrien])
-A battle arena included which will allow you to fight players or random enemies at will. (Senshi Sentou)
-The option of being able to practice a multitude of styles of fighting, mostly relating to that of stat distrubution of the combat form; ex. defense, attack, speed orientated. (Green-Hawk)
-A 'duel' mode which allows you to select a certain player to pvp against. This option would be used mainly to prevent a person from running about and slaughtering bystanders. (Green-Hawk)
-An area in towns designed specifically for the purpose of PvP. (Green-Hawk)
-Equipment types that grant abilities, a feature similiar to that seen in the Final Fantasy Series (xin-chan89)
-Earn gold as well as items that are obtainable only through the battle system! (Yumi Mei Flower)
-Have the battle system be on a program that acts independently of the main site so as to have less lag for both forums and the game.(noboundareez)
-Items which are capable of being transformed into weapons; Ex. Pixie Blade (Kino Hikaru)
