A cry from a lone wolf is heard off in the distance, as I sit there amongst the gardens of the manor. Up on the hill top off in the distance below the full moon the fae appears and lets out a howl once more.
I sit there watching silently in the silver moonlight this magnificent creature. The fae turns and looks in my direction and for a moment it seems that our eyes meet. I incline my head out of respect of the creature, as well as she bowed her head to me, each of us having a silent respect for the other.
She then began padding her way to the manors gardens like she had done a few times before. This time however was different I noted. The fae had two small pups with her each having a pair of small wings. Absolutely adorable creatures I thought, as they drew closer.
The two pups sat themselves just inside the gardens beyond the entrance as the fae continued forth to where I still sat silently, just watching.
The fae finally had reached me and we each inclined our heads once more. I then approached my dear old friend and could tell she was tired I stroked her coat in silence greeting my friend the fae, and for the first time she spoke to me. "Please, these are the children of my race. I fear that if they don't find suited guardians the race will dwindle out, my own time left being few. Please take care of them kind one and more will follow..."
I gave the fae a silent nod, before watching her go back to the pups and bring them to my side. She then laid down near my as the two pups sat on each side of me, as I sat with her in silence and she slowly faded away her body turning into sparkling lights of the ancestors spirits. Leaving the two pups and me in the silence of the night once more.
