The Stage is to be Set!

1- Welcome to Oceae (Oh-shee-A), the most beautiful place on the planet. What was once American was soon destoryed by it's war and poverty, before a man, revered as a god for what he did, restored it's glory and more. Though only half of the U.S. is left, it is a perfect metropolis. (The other half was seperated by the war and a great crevice from an earthquake caused by the bombs. The entire east side of the U.S. Now belongs to various other countries, and has been particularely ruled by China.)

Oceae, as it was renamed, become a single nation, it's own country without any division. Though there is a population control to preverve what nature there is from expansion, anyone who can prove themselves to be good of heart and pure are accepted into the country, as there is no discrimination. Scarcely any crime (usually just ansgty teens stealing from stores), however crime is of course ineveitable. Other than that, it truly is a free country, now ruled (yes, ruled) by the grandson of High Master Seia, the man who made Oceae what it is. His name is High Master Akima, and is a kind and just ruler, just as his father. As this family line is known for being the purest of heart, no one has any qualms about absolute rulership.

Oceae itself is gorgious in every aspect. The mountains are clean and white with snow, or green with forests. Forests themselves vary, from thick and lucious, to thin and grassy, all beautiful. The cities run off water power, hydro-molecularization, which doesn't waste natural resources, and is 100% clean. Because water is such an abundant source here for reasons to be later explained, it is not only used as energy, but to make everything looks clean and beautiful. Most big city buildings (like offices, businesses, and skyscrapers) are clean , blue crystal-like material, usually with water suspended in the air around it, or cacscading from the roofs into the undercity, a 20 foot deep body of water that encompasses the entire city to the border. All the streets are raised, and made our a dense, tough plastic material with lights and magnets, making cars able to have an autopilot to drive you anywhere within the city. Houses themselves are on raised platforms, sometimes with yards, and connected to the above-water streets, and usually also have some form of water-structure, as it is the most basic od designs. The undercity itself is even clean and blue, and many people swimor raft in it. Now onto what makes this possible.

The Discovery of Magic

2- High Master Seia was an archeaologist, and in an amazing discovery, found a book that taught the most absolute of brain functions-- Magic! True magic. Of course there were laws, such as mass could not be created or destroyed, but this power is bestowed was the power to control the bodies energies absolute, even outside of the mortal shell within a range. He used it to bring the war to stop, create food for people, and help rebuild a new nation, changind much of the horrible destruction into water. Fast foward- As Seia was the only one who could ever have truly mastered this art, it has been lost. However it is no longer really needed, though a few people have learned how to use is minorily, such as levitating small things and lighting a dark room. Also is the royal guard, who protects the High Master with powerful barrier magic from terrorists. Life was all good, until...

The Infection

3- Oceae has found itself facing a new threat. A kind of virus, not man nor nature made, but rather an unusual force of magic turned evil. The virus is called Darkness. Darkness of the mind and heart. It possesses people, feeds on theirm most basic instinct, something thought to have been eliminated over these years. It is the desire to survive any way possible. The Infected, or "Dark", have an incredible drive to cause destruction, harm people, and spread the disease.

At first it was just a few people casuign trouble, and they were put in jail. Now however, it seems, if left alone, the virus will take over the body wholly, and become a living shadow, in many different forms. They call them Heartless. (Just like from Kingdom Hearts, but that's it. This is not a KH roleplay!)

Now

4- A war has begun to eliminate this pestilence, of which the original source was detroyed, but there is still it's spawn. Sadly, it seems, the only person with enough magical power is High Master Akima, who is doing all he can, but there is too much darkness for him alone. But there is yet hope! Every so often, a hero will arise with the power to fight this evil. They have the power of Light, and are gifted with weapons than can destroy the darkness. (No keyblades!). Also, their magic grows, slowly, albeit, but still it grows, allowing the user to cast minor spells, such as fireballs, freezing techniques, and the like. These people claim to have been visited by Seia at midnight, where he gave them their weapon of choice to be able to defeat the darkness. Now, the few heroes there are must do all they can to destory the darkness plaguing their homeland! Ladies and Gentlemen...

Da Rules

-The first general rule is that this is a Kingdom Hearts inspired roleplay, and contains several elelments of said game, however this is NOT an actual Kingdom Hearts roleplay, so don't start parading around as if it were. Now then...

1.
Please for the sake of all that is good, be LITERATE. You don't have be a crazy good writer, just literate. This entails using the best spelling you can (use a spellchecker if you have really bad spelling), using proper grammar, making posts at least a good paragraph. The exception is when you are interacting with someone, and you need to say or do somehting, but other than that you're bound and can only make a few lines. If you're roleplaying solo and you have writers block, at least make a paragraph, or don't post at all. If you can't think of much, be overly descriptice and use larger words.

2.
Everyone is human, and therefore somewhat even. Though some characters (such as heroes) may be a little stronger than others (ordinary humans), you are not god. You are not all powerful. You cannot auto-hit and you cannot dominate someone with just a few moves. And yes, ALL the characters are human.

3.
Behave. This is applied loosely, as I allow alot of things, but no cybering, don't curse every other word, and if you absolutely have to, keep it in good taste! This IS a literate roleplay.

4.
The general KH rule is still applied to characters and other things. No using landmarks from Kingdom Hearts, don't use characters from KH, don't use a keyblade, etc. This RP is ONLY Kingdom Hearts INSPIRED.

5.
When signing up, PM me your profile and title it "Action!". It will otherwise be ignored.

6.
When creating a character, keep it original! Don't use a character from an anime or game or anything. And by original, this also means don't make a character that resembles an existing one, unless you have the owners consent!

7.
In the sign up form, at the top type "Are You Ready?"

8.
Always read ALL the rules and know them well. Check the updates section every now and then, as any rule changes or updates will be posted there.

9.
I'm not a stuck up b*****d, and I DON'T rule you. All characters are generally equal, however, if I see you doing something you're not suppose to, I will warn you. Break another rule, I'll ban you. So again, know the rules.

10.
At the bottom of the sign up form, type "My heart's a battle ground."

11.
In regards to rule 9, if I see you doing something I don't approve of, and it's NOT a rule, I will notify you and make a rule, however this does not count as a warning, as you have done nothing intentionally wrong. So don't worry if I ask you to stop doing something.

Weapon: GateBlade (A holographic ocean blue staff with a leather handle. When called upon it shifts form into a sword made of sharp diamond-shape rods that interconnect like a gate, thus, the GateBlade)
Personality: A generally nice guy. Gatz doesn't tend to get upset, and usually if he does it's very mild. He can be lazy alot of the time, but when it comes to it, he's a hard worker. A kid who's played too much Kingdom Hearts, a very old relic of a game in this day and age, not known to anyone but the top experts on old games. He follows much of the philosophy put forth by said game.
Background/History: Had a normal, boring life. School, work, some martial arts, home, and sleep. Nothing really exciting has ever really happened to him, though he's very versitile when it comes to physical ability, and is a health freak, which is why he works at a Health Food Store. Hurray, discounts!
Height: 6' exactly.
Weight: 151 lbs of muscle and bone (and of course arteries!).
Body Type: Medium. He's healthy and strong, but not buff.
Hair: Shoulder length straight blue hair. (Somewhat shaggy however. For example, though it's shoulder length, it's uneven, and though it's straight, it's not pressed and has a wavy/looseness to it.).
Skin/Complexion: Kind of pale skin, with a few hardly visible scars of once having acne.
Style/Clothing: After becoming a hero, Gatz started wearing a black and blue long coat, very trim, a black tee, and blue straps that make an X over his torso. (These straps go through the back of the coat and keep the GateBlade in place, as well as have a few pouches for various things.) The coat also has some pockets and other unusal things on them that regulate temperature and humidity inside the coat when closed. Gatz pants are a semi baggy, strong, loose, and thin. Colored variously black and blue much like the coat. Upon his feet are semi-low cut boots with strong straps and a special temperature and shock absorption system.
Home: Suburban
Other: Gatz is very agile and versatile, as he spent much time training and climbing up, around, and throug a bamboo thicket on his familys plot of land, and other various buildings (Parkour!). He is also self trained with a blade, and has some background in martial arts. Also, he is one of the very few magic users, but as everyone else, can only perform minor spells. One is Heligakura, a wind technique that he developed. It envelopes his body in a whirlwind, which he can use to direct a typhoon horizontally at the enemy, though it's just a breeze, and only good for kicking up sand, or maybe doing it over water to get a person wet. His other spell is Flarugit, where he clasps his hand together and blows into them, spitting out fire, though it too is weak, and can only light easily flammable materials. Though both of these powers are more than anyone else can really do, because he spends so much more of his time working on it, though it still doesn't go anywhere.

"Wh, where am I?" Gatz stood, staring at a huge metal door, decorated with beautiful designs. Suddenly, a voice rings out,

"It is time. Do you choose to accept the fate you have created for yourself. SHould you say yes, you will enter this realm, and absorb both light, and dark. These forces will struggle within you. If you are truly strong, you will be able to keep it contained, and eventually eleminate the darkness. Should you fail, the conflicting forces will tear you apart. Now: Do you choose to battle the darkness?"
Standing there, still staring at the door with a blank face, Gatz thought over what he had just been told. Was this some sort of dream? Why was he wearing a tight fully body one-piece? However, something inside him sturred. "I accept."
Suddenly a loud cracking sound, and the door began opening. A blinding light, then...

A clearing amidst a bamboo thicket. A Buddha statue sat at the middle. Then the voice returned.
"Now, you shall learn to ward off the darkness when it comes too close." Suddenly the statue came to life and approached Gatz, taking him by the hands, and slowly fading out of vision, until there was nothign there. Looking at his hands, Gatz couldn't figure out just what happened. Then a small little shadow creature sprang from the thicket at his back. "Ahhh!" Turning and putting up his guard, a flash of silver light slashed across in front of his face, destroying the little vermin. "Use this power of light to guide you through the darkness. If you stay strong of heart, the light will always protect you. Practice with it now. Learn how to defend yourself." A swarm slowly approached out of the bamboo, surrounding Gatz. Leaping at him, he sprang into action, putting his hands up and deflecting the shadows all around, silver flashes flying all around him.

"Good. Let us move on." The bamboo in front of Gatz instantly compacted and adjusted, creating a stairway leading up into a mountainous terrain. Taking it, the young teen found himself on a battle ground. "Now you learn to fight back against the shadows. See what you can do."

Again, a swarm surrounded him and began attackign, blockignt he first, Gatz quickly struck back with a backflip kick, sending the shadow into another, causing another spark of light, this one destroyed them both though. "My strikes. They..." Before finishing his sentance, he spun around to another attack, and blocked again, returning with a punch to the creature. His fight continued, and Gatz soon became faster and better, finishing off the rest of the shadows.
"Good. You are strong indeed. Only one thing remains. You must face the darkness within you and defeat it, returning it to your heart, where it will eventually resurface, and you must defeat it again, until you have rid all others of the shadows."

A crackling sound, and the mountain burst into thousands of shards of crystal flying around him, and Gatz began falling into an abyss. Coming out of it and hanging next to him was a tall, thin shadow creature with razor sharp limbs and horrible red eyes. Quickly, it slashed Gatz, giving him a cut across the check. Returning the attack, he elbowed the darkness, then backpunched it, sending it flying into a rift of light.

SPLASH. His eyes open. Gatz finds himself floating horizontally in a coi pond in his backyard, a holographic-blue staff floating on the water. Standing up and out of the water, he picks up the staff. "I don't...get it." Sitting down, he stared at the staff as the sun began drying his wet body.
