Recently over the past few years now, yaoi and yuri titles have grown and multipied drastically. Yes, in Japan they are more accepting of homosexuality, and therefore the top companies make profit off of yaoi anime and manga.

America on the other-hand are stuck in the dark times. There is not as many yaoi titles as you would find in Japan released in America. Eventhough the restrictions and frowned apon homosexuality traits you would find in North America, yaoi has grown into a very international wide fanbase. It's quite amazing really.

Thousands of fan-girls and even a few fan-boys thrown into the mix. The question remaining, is yaoi just a fad? Will it die down and be frowned apon more intensly, die down and become as normal as hetro series, or simply remain one of the top mainstream seller generas?

Young grasshopper, a fad is something that we have for a while, but soon get board of. Good examples of these common affects would be the series Inuyasha and the moon walk cool

As for the thread, I would say yaoi is a fad. Everyone's interest change within time, though there may be people that is going to like yaoi forever.

Yes, sadly I think yaoi is a fad as well. Although I hope that one day it will open doors and have a little more acceptance for homosexuality. sweatdrop
