Worn from your travels, you decide to find an adequate place in which to rest your weary body and perhaps catch up on the many hours of sleep an adventurer, such as yourself, has squandered mercilessly over the past few days of your travels. As you look about your surroundings, your gaze happens to rest on that of a forested glade, nestled against the sheer, stone cliffs of a looming mountain. The mountain itself is riddled with many caves and at its base, within the glade, your tired eyes happen to spot a sliver of smoke rising up from amongst the glittering boughs of the trees. Curious, you proceed. As you carefully pick your way towards the center of the glade, you soon manage to spot a small, wooden cabin of sorts with smoke rising gently from a diminutive chimney located on its thatched roof. Questioning the possibility of a probable warm meal and bed, you approach the humble forest abode. As you walk across the dew-covered grass, you also happen to notice that there are several varying kinds of fruit trees growing from the ground nearest to the glade’s shimmering spring, their branches laden with fruit. Furthermore, adjoining the cabin on one side is, what appears to be, an aviary of adequate size, in which the vocalizations and chirps of several small creatures can be heard. Deciding it to be of no concern to you or your business with the inhabitant of this glade, you shrug your shoulders in reaction and quickly climb the wooden steps leading to the cabin’s porch. You stride towards the door and clear your throat lightly, preparing your request in the back of his mind as you lift a single fist to knock upon the heavily decorated door. Suddenly, the flutter of wings rushes towards you and the prickle of small, but relatively sharp, claws grasp your shoulder. Startled by the sudden coming of the creature you flail and step backwards, your nerves ruffled slightly. In your thrashing, the creature uttered forth a startled meep and quickly flew elsewhere, landing gracefully on the wooden railing encompassing the porch. You quickly recover from the unexpected encounter and shoot a curious glance at your feathered assailant, blinking in bewilderment. The creature was of small size and had the forepaws of a small canine, as well as a pair of rather large, strangely foxlike ears. It also had three diminutive horns on its forehead, obviously underdeveloped, and possessed the hindquarters of a small draconic bird or sorts, as well as a single, fluffy, rather foxlike, tail. It cocked its narrow head to one side and fixed you with a disturbingly intelligent gaze, perking the feathery crest upon its head up in inquisitive curiosity. Then, as you continue to stare at the strange creature, the door to the cabin inches open and a young woman with jet-black hair emerges from within. She smiles and snickers playfully at your obvious captivation with the small beast. She greets you with a single word and invites you into her cabin, offering a warm drink and the exchange of pleasant conversation. The young woman then introduces herself as Akurien Tsumeko and promptly urges the outlandish animal to enter and take its place at the table. As you make yourself comfortable upon one of the elaborately carved chairs, Akurien pets the creature in a gentle, loving fashion as she readies a kettle of water upon the fire to boil.
“Welcome to my home, traveler. I do apologize if she startled you. They’re always so very inquisitive when strangers, such as yourself, wander into the glade, nothing like the adults. What is she, you ask? Why, she’s a Ryutsunex, of course. What is a Ryutsunex? Oh, only one of the rarer breeds of magical creatures that roam our lands. Well, if you really must know the details, a Ryutsunex is somewhat of a strange variety of canine with several qualities in common with both dragons, as well as phoenixes. They are hatched from eggs, like birds or dragons, but suckle milk from their mother upon hatching, like a mammal. The eggs themselves require an incubation period of one week before they will hatch and the hatchlings are weaned from their mother by two weeks of age, setting out on their own and leaving the nest shortly thereafter. Only an adult Ryutsunex can mate or be ridden into battle, but that stage isn’t reached until the individual has achieved five weeks of age. Despite their size, adult Ryutsunexs are remarkable flyers that are capable of carrying loads weighing several times their own weight. How much would it cost to acquire an egg and raise a hatchling Ryutsunex into a mature adult for riding, you ask? Well, the raising is of your own concern, but I can assist with the egg and the training. You see, I am a breeder of Ryutsunexs and make it my business to produce eggs to be hatched or sold to the curious adventurer. I also offer to train Ryutsunexs for riding, when they have come of the proper age, and even sell various items and treats to pamper your special companion. If you still are interested, perhaps you should read the FAQ I have written concerning my work here. It’ll explain everything from the breeding, to the hatching, to the training, and beyond. Ah, the kettle is ready, I’ll go ready us some tea and biscuits to share over the subject of acquiring your Ryutsunex. I’ll return shortly.”
How do I get a Ryutsunex?You can obtain Ryutsunex eggs through the various auctions I hold every now and then, as well as through individual purchase of custom eggs. When I have come into possession of a reasonably large amount of eggs, I will notify all of those who have had their name inscribed onto a list of interested individuals and I’ll provide a link to the auction thread within that notification. Only those with their username on the list will be permitted to bid on the eggs, but do keep in mind that these auctions are rather rare and held as a special event. As for acquiring a custom bred Ryutsunex, please refer to the section entitled “Ryutsunex Customs How To.”
How do I get on the list?You must send me a PM with the subject “Ryutsunex Auction” and clearly state within it that you wish to add your name to the list of bidders for the upcoming auction. Once added, you will be expected to participate in the auction until you have acquired one of the eggs. As soon as you have attained an egg, you will no longer be allowed to bid in that same auction.
* If, for some reason, an auction is held and all the vacant slots have not been filled, those present in the auction will have the option to attain more than one egg.
Well, I'm not sure if I actually can afford to bid in the first place. What's the starting price of each egg?All eggs within each auction will have a starting price of no less than 1000 gold and bidding will continue until the other parties present have declared defeat. Further explanation concerning this subject will be provided within the auction itself.
Excuse me for being a bit of a skeptic, but what do the Ryutsunexs actually look like? You mentioned something about training my Ryutsunex to be ridden when it’s old enough, how do I go about doing that and is there a fee involved?Yes, there is a charge of 2000 gold for equipping your Ryutsunex with a bridle and saddle and training them to bear a rider into battle. Since your Ryutsunex is meant to be actively role-played, in a role-play of your choosing, you cannot ride your mature Ryutsunex until you have paid for the saddle and training. Also, those Ryutsunexs that have been trained will have their names listed in a hall of achievement and will have their profiles branded with a symbol of recognition that only trained Ryutsunexs can obtain.
What about these special items and treats? Are they like accessories or something?The items I sell within this shop, aside from the auction of eggs, can be bought at any time by anyone with a Ryutsunex and have varying effects and purposes. Accessories can be equipped to your Ryutsunex to compliment its appearance. The treats, known as Ryutsunex Fruit Snaps, are just an item to add to your Ryutsunex’s Inventory and can be used in the purchase of various tricks that can be taught to your Ryutsunex. Different tricks require a certain number of Fruit Snaps to be taught. Each bag of Ryutsunex Fruit Snaps contains ten treats. Other than accessories, tricks, and treats, I also happen to sell an item that, upon consumption by an adult Ryutsunex, can forever lock them into a state of eternal youth. In other words, return them to the hatchling stage without loosing any of the tricks or accessories you have equipped them with. Once fed an Egg of Everlasting Youth, your Ryutsunex can never return to their adult form. No exceptions.
How do I buy and pay for the items I want to buy?After you have decided which items you want to purchase, you must send me a PM with the subject “Item Purchase” and clearly state which items you wish to buy in a neat and orderly list. If you wish to purchase Ryutsunex Fruit Snaps, please specify quantity. Once I have received your PM, I will calculate the cost and return your PM. Once that is done, you may send the trade. Please do not try to calculate the cost yourself; I’ll handle it for you.
Can I eventually buy more than one Ryutsunex and is there a limit?As of current, there is no limit on the number of Ryutsunexs I will allow to be purchased by any individual, simply that, in the case of an auction, you can acquire only one egg per auction.
Can I, sooner or later, breed my Ryutsunex with another Ryutsunex and get an egg as the result?Yes, in time the option to breed two Ryutsunexs and obtain an egg from the pairing will be offered, but there will be a charge involved and the offspring’s profile will be branded as being the result of a breeding.
What are the different stages and how long does it take for my Ryutsunex to reach each one?Your Ryutsunex comes into your possession as an egg and will hatch in approximately one week of real time into a hatchling. After five weeks of life, a hatchling matures into the adult stage.
Will my Ryutsunex ever die?No, your Ryutsunex cannot die unless you voluntarily decide to allow its death in one of the role-plays your Ryutsunex is participating in. Which, in such a scenario, it is completely up to you and I will have no involvement in the matter.
What if I change my mind and want all my money back, can I get a refund on my Ryutsunex?No, all transactions are final and you will not be reimbursed under any circumstances, but the option to put your Ryutsunex up for adoption may come into being at a later time.
Do you reuse line art?Yes, to some extent, but all coloring and texturing is done from scratch for every stage of all Ryutsunexs. No exceptions.
Do you hold sales of any kind or special raffles like the other shops?I will occasionally hold raffles in which the prizes will be special Ryutsunex eggs or free items, but only for those who have either donated a substantial amount of gold to the shop or subscribed as one of the shop bumpers. I also plan to hold seasonal auctions for a limited number of exclusive eggs in which all may participate in.
I want to be a bumper for your shop! How do I sign up and do I get paid extra for it?To become an official bumper for the Ryutsunex Eyrie, you must first send me a PM with the subject “Shop Bumper” and clearly promise that you will be able to dedicate a decent portion of your time to bumping the Ryutsunex Eyrie and try to ensure its position on the first page, as well as promise to refrain from using large or obscene pictures to represent your bump. Once I reply to your PM and inform you that you have been hired as a shop bumper, you may start bumping and I will add your username to the list of official Ryutsunex Eyrie bumpers. Yes, I do plan on paying my hired bumpers for their service with a minimum of 200 gold per week of dedicated bumping. If you have done an exceptional job, I will offer even more gold as payment, but only if I see the extra effort on your part.
How do I donate to the shop?You donate by sending me a trade with your desired donation. The subject of your donation should read “Ryutsunex Eyrie Donation”, as to avoid any confusions on my part. Generous donators will have their usernames added to a list of thanks and will have the chance of participate in special raffles, in which only donators and shop bumpers can partake in, for unusual Ryutsunex eggs and special accessories.
