-04/21/06- the schedule for the first set of KH2 auctions and raffle have gone up on page 216, as well as in the event posts. the pages that the preview images are located on are posted with the schedule.

-04/07/06- liek, omg! the active owners growings have been completed! final pickup on page 181

as mentioned before, even if you are not activ ein thread your pet will at least reach second stage, butt he only way to get to third stage is to be in the thread ta least once every couple of months! it's all i ask! just pop by and say hi, and that's good enough for me.

so, there will be an upcoming flatsale, and a series of KH2 cosplay auctions, including a couple custom characters at the end. so keep your eyes peeled for signs of those starting up...

-02/15/06- a list has been compiled of all active owners. i'e, those who picked up their links (and poste din the thread) before the end of august, and those who have received pets from events after august 2005.

if your name is on that list, then your pet will grow to the next stage when i start the next growings. if your name is not on that list, your pet is marked inactive and will be skipped in future growings, until you start stopping by the shop. all i ask is a little hello once or twice every couple of months. it's not that hard. and after your pet has reached third stage, if you never wanna stop by again, that's ok too. but i'm not going ot waste hours and hours growing pets who'se owners never even stop by once after getting them <3

-11/28/05 - all the SS growings to second stage are officially done! the pets from my birthday raffle and the custom flatsale have also grown, and all but the two or three most recent customs/cosplays have reached second stage. there will be no new growings for a few weeks at least, allowing for me to complete the christmas event and the tagings that will result from that.

also, instead of deleting inactive pets from the server, i will simply skip over them in the new batches of growings. if you want your pet to grow, i suggest you stop by the thread once in a while, even just to say hi or whatnot. this should also allow for the next growing schedule to move ahead much more quickly, as i won't be growings pets unless the owner's are somewhat active, or had stopped by in the two months time i allowed for people to pick up the new URLs when i switched servers.

-10/26/05 - the dual auction has ended, congrats to grimgod316, who won both penguins up for grabs <3

-10/12/05 - the dual auction for kyuubi!naruto and curse!sasuke penguins is on now until the 28th! see the availability post for the auction link

-08/30/05 - the gino auction is over, congrats to tara jenkins <3

-08/25/05 - due to the fact that the person who won the gino walrus never gave me the pertinent info for him and has failed to open or respond to any PMs regarding said info, the Gino walrus will go up for re-auction today. The auction will last from this afternoon, until the afternoon of the 30th. There will be no autobuy.

-08/20/05 - the tsunade auction has ended! congrats nikui and endejester <3

again, usaku is questing for diamondbacks, so if you want a custom walrus or penguin, now's your chance to get one! the shop won't be having any more custom sales (or..other sales, really) until usaku's quest is over or at least well established, and the SS and othe rgrowings are done.

-08/16/05 - the jiraiya auction has ended! congrats to endejester and nikui <3 the tsunade auction will start on august 20th.

usaku is question for diamondback lionfishes! and to help her on her way, she'll be offering custom WL walruses and penguins! be sure to offer her your support in exchange for a cuddly walrus or penguin~

-07/05/05 - the shop has been moved to a new host, since mizukori was having trouble with her last one, but has been gracious enought o give us space with her new host <3 all owner's list links and links to images/sale previews are ebing updated, though it may take a couple days.

-05/21/05 - shop is being re-made due to the previous thread being eaten by the [message temporarily offline] demons. Unfortunately this means the owner's list is outta whack, and all the news for the past month is gone. Being a cynical kind of person, I don't hold much hope of it ever coming back, so here we are! fresh start, kinda.

-03/19/05 - whoamg! Lots of growings in the walruses today! The fish flatsale pups have reached third stage, as have the christmas flatsale pups, and some custom/pet trade ones =D this'll make a nice group for when breeding, though delayed thus far, opens up. Hopefully by then we'll have some third-stage penguins as well.

-03/07/05 - While the EasterGrams event was slightly delayed, it did finally open! The url to the event thread is in the availability section =D

Don't forget about the free raffle starting on the 21st, for two cute easter-themed penguin chickies!

Breeding has been delayed due to my stress at not having a job and having too much to do, but it should open up [hopefully] in April...

-11/27/04 - The custom walrus auction will run from this monday (the 29th) until friday (Dec 3rd). the winner will have their choice of gender, colors, markings, and accessories. They will not be able to choose twins, however. If the auction is autobought, they will also be able to choose and customize a familiar for their walrus.

-11/27/04 - OK! My photobucket account just went belly-up! Hopefully it'll be up in time for the flatsale, but for now... no images! 9_9 i'm moving all the banners over to a different server, but I ask PLEASE, anybody who has a plushie, PLEASE MAKE SURE IT IS SAVED TO YOUR OWN SERVER. Walrus

- Odobenus rosmarus, from the Latin for "tooth walking sea-horse."
- Walruses use their tusks to help get themselves out of the water
- Part of the Order Pinnipedia, the walrus is the only member of the Family Odobenidae, While there is only one walrus species, there are two subspecies: O. rosmarus rosmarus is the Atlantic walrus, found in eastern Canada and the high Arctic, and O. rosmarus divergens, the Pacific walrus, which occasionally wanders into the western Canadian Arctic from Alaska
- Tusks reach a length of about 40 centimetres, although much longer tusks up to 90 centimetres long have been recorded
- A walruses whiskers, called vibrissae, are highly sensitive, quill-like, and help the walrus detect food during its underwater dives
- Not the most graceful creatures on land, walruses hunch their bulky bodies along like caterpillars by turning their hind flippers forward for walking
- Although they prefer shallow waters, walruses can dive to depths of 100 metres, and can stay under for about 30 minutes when searching for food
- When calves are tired of walking or swimming, they sometimes ride on their mothers? backs
- Walruses are highly social animals and are almost always found in herds, numbering from hundreds to several thousand individuals

Penguin

- Spheniscidae
- There are 17 recognized species of living penguin, all of which live in the Southern Hemisphere.
- There are 32 recognized species of extinct penguin.
- They are one of the flightless bird species, their wings having evolved and modified into paddlelike flippers.
- The bones in a penguin's flippers are flattened and broadened, with the join of the elbow and wrist almost fused together to form a rigid, tapered and flat flipper for swimming.
- Each flipper is covered in short, scale-like feathers, normal long wing feathers would be too flexible for swimming through water.
- Penguins eat krill, squids, and fish.
- Penguins are among the most social of all birds.
- Some penguin species spend as much as 75% of their lives in the sea.
- Penguins have solid, dense bones to overcome buoyancy
- A penguin's circulatory system adjusts to conserve or release body heat to maintain body temperature.

Auction pups/chicks will normally be rares (cosplay?) or customs, and will start off with a bid of 5k, unless otherwise stated.

When receiving a custom walrus or penguin, I require certain information from you. Please fill oiut the following form and return it to me ^__^=

Familiar: (you don't -have- to choose a familiar, but most custom offers will include one if it goes above a certain price, or if it is a pet trade)

If you would like a cosplay (with full lineart edits on all three stages [pet trades or special offers only please]), please provide one or more refs of the character.

-custom FS slots-
please note that lineart-edit cosplays are not available from custom/custom FS slots. The price at a custom/custom FS is one sealed letter of the current month, or 10,000g

General Rules

1. No Stealie The Art! It's Toast King Tsu's lineart, and my coloring. If I see somebody with a walrus in their sig who -shouldn't have on-, they will be in deep walrus doo-doo.
2. Do Not PM merangue! Unless you are somebody who she is used to getting PMs from, then don't message her! Do not PM her inquiring about the date for the next event, do not PM her asking if she'll do a custom for you. The only acceptable PM's related to this shop would deal with pet trades, but she would still preffer you to ask in the thread, or PM the mule
3. Do not harass merangue or any of the owners.
4. Do not start fights in this thread. Any people found argueing in this thread will be blacklisted. (No, mer don't have a greylist. If you piss her off, you go straight to black.)
5. Do not whine about your walrus not growing. This isn't the only shop merangue runs. She doesn't want to see people wandering around the thread going 'I hope ____ will grow soon' or *wonders if ____ is going to grow*
6. While these pets are NOT RP mandatory, it would be nice if you'd stop by the thread once in awhile, even just to say hi.
7. NEVER place an order for a walrus or penguin in this thread or by PM when there are no walruses or penguins available!! Doing so will land you on the blacklist.

Flatsale Rules

1. Flatsales are First Come, First Serve.
2. All flatsales will begin with a GO post. Any requests for walruses posted before the GO will be ignored.
3. For ten minutes Prior to the flatsale, ALL POSTING MUST STOP. This is to ensure that everybody sees the GO post. Those who post within the 10 minutes before the flatsale start will be disqualified from that sale.
4. Do Not Whine if you don't get a walrus, or the walrus you wanted. All this will do is piss me off.
5. Pup preview pictures will be numbered. When participating, post the number of the pup you wish to acquire. Only one number per post please. If you wish to order a pup for yourself, and one for a friend, you must make two separate posts.
6. NO POST EDITING. Anybody who edits their posts in the flatsale will be disqualified, blacklisted, and banned from participation in any future events.

Auction Rules

1. Anti-Snipe: if there are any bids within the last ten minutes of any auction, the auction will be extended by another ten minutes, until there is a period of ten minutes with no bids at the end of the auction.
2. TALLY YOUR OWN BIDS. If you are bidding items, you must tally your own bids. If you do not, your bid will be ignored.
3. Do not edit your bid posts. If you wish to change your bid, make a new post.
4. Items are accepted at MID TEH GUIDE only, no exceptions. If the item you are bidding has no TEH value, then it will be accepted at 500g lower than the lowest asking price in the marketplace. Items like this will generally be listed in a post in the auction thread.
5. Items accepted are: labcoats, halloween 2k3 items, donation items/letters, NM/Angelic headbands. If you are not sure whether or not an item is acceptable, ask.
6. Do not discourage people from bidding, or encourage peopel to bid if they don't want to.
7. Do not whine if you lose or get outbid. This will just piss me off.

Can I reserve a walrus in an upcoming flatsale?
No. It would be unfair if I were to let people stake claims on walrus pups ahead of time in flatsales, so unfortunately, you cannot reserve a pup. If you cannot be present at a flatsale, arrange for someone else to try for you, or wait for the next event.

Can I buy a walrus/penguin plushie even if I don't own a walrus?
Yes. Walrus/penguin plushies are available to everybody, not just Walrus Lurve owners.

Can I buy a walrus/penguin plushie in the likeness of somebody else's walrus or penguin?
Yes. I don't see why not, unless this person has told me they don't want anybody to have plushies made in the likeness of their walrus or penguin.

Unfortunately no. It would be unfair to people who dohave enough gold, and who have payed full price, if I were to let you have a pup at a cheaper price. If you are really in a tight spot (and the marketplace isn't working or osmehting) I may accept items at MID GEN

Easy. It's my shop, so I reserve the right to give free walruses or penguins to people for any little reason I can think of. Usually this person is a friend of mine, or somebody who I think deserves one. (Why yes, I do play favorites..)

Do you do pet trades?
Yes, though I reserve the right to deny a request for a trade. I preffer non-RP pets. I generally will trade a custom walrus for a custom or semi-custom pet, and occasionally, even for a pre-made one. If you're not sure if I'll accept your trade, just ask. The worst that'll happen is I'll say no.

Is there a dedicated thread for RP, or do we just RP in the shop thread?
Currently, there is no dedicated RP thread for the Walrus Lurve shop, since the pet's are not RP mandatory. If I get enough call for it and a few ideas of what to put in it, I might, in the future, create a guild for the shop. But for now, there's just this thread ^__^=

Familiars

Do I have to have a walrus/penguin to buy a familiar?
No. Familiars can be purchased for walruses or penguins, or as mini-pets. They are nameable, and if you do not have a walrus, will get their own small tag to go on, with name and owner. they do not, however, have a gender.

Walruses/penguins must be adults before they can breed. Please do not request a breeding if there are no Breeding Slots open. Currently, our facilities do not support inter-species breeding, although male-male and female-female pairings are facilitated by scientific means.

Male x Female: 50% female, 50% male - 4
Male x Male: 25% female, 75% male - 3
Female x Female: 100% female - 4

The cost of breeding your walrus or penguin pair is 6k, with 2-4 pups/chicks received. You may keep the pups, sell them, give them away, or let the shop sell them. If you sell them yourself, 25% of the proceeds must go back to the shop. Breeding slots are first come first serve, and will usually be open twice a month, depending on how busy the breeding season is.

Breeding two walruses or penguins owned by the same person is frowned upon (share the lurve!), and it is preffered that they be owned by two seprarate people to be bred. There is no cap on how many times a walrus or penguin can be bred in it's lifetime, but it may only breed once every two months. since breeding slots do nto open very often, this shouldn't be a problem...

Familiars are cute little sea creatures that can be purchased as companions to your walrus, or as mini two-stage pets for yourself.

There are currently seven [common] discovered types of Familiars:

If you have a walrus or penguin, Flatsale Familiars will cost 1.5k each. If you do not have a walrus or penguin, Familiars will cost 2k each.

Auctioned Familiars will start with a bid of 3k, and will generally be customs (pick from the available species and choose coloration, or custom species)

The following is a list of pets that i would definitely trade for, regardless of whether my trades are close dor not. (meaning I've been stalking/lurking the shops since they openned, most usually). Remember, just because your pet is not on the list, does not mean I would not consider trading for one! Perhaps I just haven't seen your shop around. There's no harm in asking, the worst that'll happen is I'll say no.

I preffer non-RP pets, but occasionally (if something can be worked out in temrs of me...hardly ever updating a journal ._.;;;; I'm pretty bad for that) I might accept light RP pets.

I usually trade a custom for a custom, or even a cosplay for a custom, and in certain cases, I'd be more than willing to trade a custom for a premade.

1-fake bids in an auction at a friend's shop. 160g is just slightly less than 1.6 million hon.
2-calling FelineOddity a '******** whore' for putting you on her shop's blacklist after her auction, then repeatedly badmouthing and cursing at other shop goers in the shop you were blasklisted at.

yes, I realize neither of these events hapenned in any of my shops, but such disreguard for rules,a nd such abusive behavior is not tolerable, regardless of where it happens. you are hereby banned from any and all shops i own or co-run, and any events i am involved with in the future.
