Of all the things I'd expected to happen last night, this was definately the last. I was out and about on my own business, and some..woman comes up to me, pulling a long cart behind her. That was a bit odd in itself, but when she stopped and stared at me, and I saw what it was, well...that really topped the cake.

It was a coffin. Not just any coffin, and occupied one. I could smell the body, but it wasn't quite dead. It smelt dead, but it was awake.

Now, I haven't seen one of my own in nearly a decade, so this was surprising. Next thing I know though, this woman is shoving the handle of the cart in my hand, and disappearing before I could say a damn word. So, now I'm in Carmen's second apartment, which I've modified into my home, and it's across the other side of the room. It hasn't opened, and I can't open it myself, so I don't know just who is in there, but it's a male, I can smell that much.

I'll just have to wait, I guess, move around it until something happens. Something IS bound to happen, that's a breathing vampire in there, it'll need blood sooner or later.

Ah well, I'll probably forget about it in a few days, what with me being such a busy little vampire. Yes, that was resentful sarcasm. Anyway, I'm a bit peckish, think I'll pop out for a bit.

It's been five days and I've all but forgotten about the coffin. I've moved it so many times, just so I'll stop staring at it and wondering, but I somehow manage to come across it again.

I found a small inscription on the said, that, when translated, said Daray. So, that's what I refer to the coffin as. I mean 'the coffin' is a bit drab. So, when I say Daray, you'll know who I mean.

I don't like the fact the Daray won't open, it worries me, but I can feel that whatever is in there is as alive as a vampire can be. I can't help but wonder where his nourishment is coming from, and why the coffin won't open. But, I have more important things to tend to at the present.

Like feeding myself. I went through a rough patch and didn't eat for so long. Now people are dropping left right and center. I'm so hungry. It doesn't matter how much I drink, I always want more. I never leave them alive to turn though, I don't want more competition than I have already, which isn't much.

I need to go keep an eye on Samsara. Call me a stalker or whatever you wish, but I like to know he's ok.

Well, it's my two hundred and fourth ******** Holiday, I hate it. All this 'cheer' and the pointless festivities. It's just another reason for people to be greedy and take things from others without truly being thankful.
As is tradition, I sent some form of death to my descendants. Finally got the last known one, so I'm the last of my bloodline. Finally, took ******** long enough.
Anyway, all I had for company was Daray and a few bottles of sherry, which had absolutely no effect whatsoever. Still depressed and staring at the coffin, thinking of all those happy ******** mortals.
I should stop thinking altogether, it's not healthy. I should go see Samsara. Oh, yeah. THAT'S a good idea...
I'll just sit here until sunset, go have my own Christmas dinner. Maybe snag some carolers.
Whatever.
Merry ******** Christmas.

The door to the apartment opened slowly, revealing a tall, muscled man, with a rugged face, and a thick cigarette hanging loosely from his lips.
The whole place was covered in cobwebs, and had the distinct smell of dust, like no one had been here for awhile, but he could smell it. The vampire.
He used a sharp claw to pick at his fangs as he moved further in, shutting the door behind him. He could smell it, but he couldn't hear it, so it wasn't hiding.
Then his eyes fell on the coffin, and a wide, curel grin appeared on his face. "Well, hello." His voice was deep, and coarse.
He could smell another one, but it's scent was incredibly weak, almost gone completely. That didn't interest him.
"Such a small coffin," he blew out a thick cloud of smoke, running a thick, callused hand over the surface of the coffin, "Must be young. My favorite."
There was a soft chuckle, and he moved to sit heavily on the couch, "I think I'll stay here for awhile. Reeks of your filthy kind," he said to the coffin, "but it'll do."
He was a tad curious, though, as to who lived here before him. That's when his eyes fell on the dusty diary on the coffeetable. Seek and ye shall find.

To be continued, maybe?
