As you fall into the story...
Talanton is land full of beings who appear to be human. But take a better look, and you will see creatures much different. Some are truly Kitsune (foxes), or Ookami (wolves), and even Neko (cats). Some are able to transform completey without a trace of their true persona. Some retain certain features. In most of it's history Talanton was a rich world full of prosperity and hope. Mostly, it was peaceful, though not without a few battles.
Times are troubled, now. Ages before you wouldn't have to worry about where you traveled, or who you said you were. But Talanton is much different these days. The King, who rules all of Talanton from his stone palace in Valr, will soon sufficate all the good and innocence that is left as he taints the land through the power he wields. Very few sanctuaries remain that will shelter those who may not agree with all the King's actions or ideals. Even fewer, are those leaders who are willing to defy his power. Even the great races, once the blood and heart of this land, do not trust one another as they once had.
However, many old beings still hold sway here. All is not lost. Kyrja, a shinning beacon in this darkness, lies to the east within the King's Empire. Far away from the eyes of Valr, she is able to move a little more freely than other cities.
Kyrja is a very old city, and it just off of the Great Desert that lies to the north. To the southwest lies the forest, Itika, known to hold so many trees that it is always dark there, and daylight almost never breaches it. Kyrja is a great citidel formed with large spirals in the center that house many streets and buildings. It is known for two things in particular: it's caring but strong Queen, and it's library. Kyrja's Queen is known to openly go against the wishes of the King, and it is said there is even a secret price on her head because of it. But like her, Kyrja, despite it's desert beauty, is a strength that is highly under-estimated by the King.
