.:[As you walk casually at the outskirts of Gaia, enjoying the scenery and wondering idally what you are doing there (and how you got there, as the last thing that you remember was stepping through the door of a small and cozy looking cafe), you notice a small, but neat building in the distance. And figuring that, really, there's nothing better to do around here (besides, you still need to find out just where you are, and if there is a warp around so that you can get back to civilization soon), you strike off for it.
~It's an even odder place then the location would suggest, as you notice as you get closer. After all, would a normal place be painted robin's egg blue? Not that you've ever heard of, no. Still, you need to find out where you are, so you go up and push open the door, noting that both it and the building are far more modern then they should be, out here in the middle of no where. You shake you head, but smile as a tiny bell tinkles as the door is opened. A shop, then? A shop, out here in the middle of no where? They can't get many customers!
~This theory is proved when, after you walk casually in, you hear voices in the back room. Voices that stop suddenly at the sound of the bell, and then after about 40 seconds, start up again furiously (though, it seemed, much more quietly then they had been previously).
~Finally, just when you are wondering if anyone is going to show up after all, a... rather strange looking girl stumbles into the front of the shop, looks up, sees you, blushes furiously and then distractedly smooths her skirt.
~"Umm, hello," she says a bit nervously, toying with a strand of dried grass (apparently) pulled from her skirt. "Oh! Welcome to the Rhada'Shim Petshop!"After saying this she glances around a bit furtivly, and then asks in a whisper, "Tell me, how did you find out about this place, anyway?"
~Maybe, you ponder as you look bemusidly on, the location is only one reason that they don't get many customers.
~"Seriously, how did you find this place? I mean, did Myst tell you? Because if she told you I'm gonna--"
~Then, just as you are starting to rather seriously regret coming over to investigate (the seemingly crazy chick with the weird looks would scare anyone away), another figure sails out of the back room. Literally. She seems to have a tiny pair of wings....
~"Hello!" she says, smiling warmly. You feel a bit better at seeing that. Maybe not all the people here are completely insane. "Please," she said, "Don't mind Aaliyah here. She is just rather... hmm... well.... We just don't get many people out here, so she tends to overreact."
~Right.
~"But I'm so glad you stopped by, we've been running for a while now, and no one has come to see what we're selling!" You almost say that, really, you didn't come by (not on purpose, anyway) either, and that all you really need is directions, when she continues. "I'd almost lost hope that anyone even wanted to see the Rhada'Shim, and after all the work I put into this place...."
~Well, after that, what are you supposed to say? "Sorry, I don't want to see them either?" No! So, sighing, you agree to see these... rada'kim? and just resign yourself to getting back to town a bit later then you had intended. At least you don't have much planned for the day....
~Little do you know what wonders await you....

.:["Well, how about you come and look at the Shim now?" the girl with the wings asks cheerfully. "They're right this way, just follow me...." She trails off distractedly as she glances around and suddenly turns. "Will you wait for a moment, please?" she asks nervously.
~"...Sure..." you hesitantly agree, and she ducks into the small doorway. From in that same room, there are several large crashing sounds and a yelp. She suddenly darts back out again.
~"On the other hand, how about I just show you the stages Rhada'Shim go through for now?"
~"Ooookay..." you reply somewhat hesitantly.
~"Rhada'Shim," she says proudly as she pulls out a dusty poster from behind the counter, "are one of the few breeds of pets in all of Gaia that go through five different easily noticable stages."
~You glance over the poster, reading all about these five easily noticable stages and are somewhat intrigued, but then are puzzled when you reach the bottom. "Wait a second, what's that?" you ask curiously, pointing at a large space at the bottom that has been scratched out.
~"Oh, nothing," the girl says just a bit too casually, breezing over your remark. "Absolutly nothing. But, as I was saying, there are five stages in the pets we sell here-"
~Actually, it kind of looks like there are six.

The Stages

~Oh dear. This is hard to explain. You get this... feather, and it grows into a Rhada'Shim?
~Yup, that's about it.
~Do not, however, go thinking that any old feather that you pick up will do this special trick--only a very, very special very, very rare feather from a Rhada'Shim that is bonded (or, at the very least, capible of being bonded) with an elemental soul will do this....
~The time needed to grow varies from feather to feather, depending on many many things, but when placed in proximity to a suitable partner, the feather will attract an elemental soul and will begin to change....

~Awww, a cute little baby! Yes ladies and gents, your feather has safely grown and look at how cute you little Rhada'Shim is now! Basically all that it will do in this stage is eat and sleep. O_O? You were expecting something more exciting? They're newborns!! Fairly soon though, they will start to grow.... This is the stage when class first beings to show - for some of the flashier ones it is immedatly visable, for the rest their strength will be seen as they approach childhood.

Remember Grandma's antique family heirloom vase? Better put it in a safe place.... They grow fairly quickly here too, so check back soon.... This is also the stage with a Shim's dominant alignment really begins to show itself.

Well, this is the question that parents througout the ages have asked when their children hit their teens. And the teenage years it is, with all of the angst, drama, confusion, and moodiness that this entails. How long does it last? Well, slightly longer then the last two.... This is the stage when the Shim's talent really begins to come through, so get used to darting fireballs... or whirlwinds... or sudden showers....

[Alignment, Talents, and Class]

.:["And, of course, that's not all that makes our Rhada'Shim special," the girl continues. "Because Rhada'Shim are born from and elemental soul bonded to a feather with rather special properties, they each have a primary alignment that they answer to. They also have some... rather unique talents because of their ties."
~"And those would be...?
~"Why don't I show you?"she asks, flourishing another large, dusty poster. It looks like she wasn't kidding about the number of visitors. Good heavens, aren't any of the demonstration posters without the thick layer of dust?

Alignments
.:[There are six different types of true alignment that a Rhada'Shim can have. Alignment determines (in part) talent, and also rules out certain strengths, weaknesses, will usually point which way tempers will move.

While it is possible for a second generation Shim to have cross alignments, this can only happen with harmonious elements. Even then, one element will usually be dominant and control most of the things affected by the alignment. Elements that are naturally highly harmonious are more likely to create crosses sucessfully and - all that aside - the two just tend to get along very well.

Alignment can be determined as soon as the elemental soul chooses and bonds a feather but the real personality differences and so forth generally don't really come out until childhood.

.:[Water
~Water is a fluid element. Rhada'Shim with a dominant element of Water are usually highly flexable and determined, though rather uncaring. They are not cold, but seem to live by a 'and life goes on' policy that leaves less room for compassion then some alignments. Water aligned Rhada'Shim are fairly good at multitasking, but can be brought off course completely by one big obsticle or problem which they will not leave alone until it is taken care of.

The inharmonious element for Water is (what else but) Flame. Highly harmonious elements are Earth and Dark.

.:[Wind
~Wind is a flighty element. Rhada'Shim with a dominant element of Wind are usually somewhat scatterbrained, jumping from one subject and task to the next sometimes with almost astonishing speed. They are not patient individuals and it is a rare thing that can really hold their attention for a long time. Wind Shim can be caring or cold, for as long as a subject intrests them. They love being the center of attention and will strive for that position. When Wind decide to truely defend something, little will be able to stop them.

The inharmonious element for Wind is Earth. Highly harmonious elements are Flame and Light.

.:[Earth
~Earth is a solid element. Rhada'Shim with a dominant element of Earth are usually very, very even tempered and laid back, usually prefering not to do anything but watch. They are slow to choose a side, but once they have they are all but unstoppable. Earth aligned can be very kind and nurturing and generally love to help things, but when they get angry watch out. They tend to have powerful attacks and when they start something, they finish.

The inharmonious element for Earth is Wind. Highly harmonious elements are Water and Dark.

~God/Goddess is naturally the strongest of the classes - these Rhada'Shim are more or less purely elemental and because of such very, very powerful. They are said to have the strength of medium-strength deities... said to because it is rumored that their true strenght has never been fully tested.

They are so saturated with power that their appearence is literally different - a Water god or goddess, for example, will have fins, a flame god or goddess will be surrounded in fire (they are also said to have fire feathers and occationally fur, but that is merely rumor).

Gods and Goddesses hardly ever show up - even seeing one is something many will never get the chance of.

1. ABSOLUTLY NO art, concept, or text theft. At all. If I catch you at this, you will be immediatly blacklisted, reported to a mod, and have all of your Rhada'Shim related items taken away. NO REFUND. I don't condone theft period, but with the amount of time I've put into everything in this shop...? Sorry, no warnings.

2. Really, it's sad that I should even have to mention this, but follow Gaia's TOS. Please. You've already said that you would.

3. Don't PM my emeralddarkness account. EVER. If you need to ask something that you just can't ask in the shop, then you can PM the shop mule [RS_HQ, the one writing this post], but NOT ME. My mailbox is already constantly overflowing. If you ignore this and PM me anyway, you will be given a warning the first time, greylisted second and blacklisted third. I am not joking.

4. Do not swear, please. Doing so will get you greylisted, and if you don't cut it out, blacklisted.

5. I reserve the right to refuse my pets to anyone for any reason. Yes, this means that I don't have to sell to you.

1. Most of the flatsales will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, so no whining if you don't get the feather you want. Try again next time.

2. This brings me to another thing... I don't hold an feather unless you are there when I say the word go and announce the flatsale. If you are the first to order the feather, sure I'll hang onto it for a little while! I know how gold can run a bit dry at times! I won't hold any for you before I even start a flatsale though. In fact, requesting this will probably get you greylisted, if not blacklisted. Just don't do it.
    - On this subject, I will hold the feather for one week. After one week, it goes to the next person. No holding indefinatly!
3. Be a good sport. If someone else got the feather that you set your heart on, do not harass them. They were there first, plain and simple.

4. No guilt-tripping, whining, or anything of the sort. If you feel that you will die unhappy if you do not own feather #4, then be here for the start of the flatsale or have a friend snatch it up for you. DO NOT post a million crying s and a long, elaborate story about how your grandma died last week and you really need that feather. Doing this will get you greylisted, if not blacklisted (which depends on how much you annoy me), and then guess what? You can't have it at all....

5. You MUST put the word "cherry" somewhere in your ordering post. Just making sure you're reading the rules. If you don't, I'm ignoring your order....

Price
Flatsale Feathers cost 5k or one Sealed Letter, you can pick which one you want to pay with.

Step 1: Ordering
Wait until I post GO in the big, red letters, and then post which feather you want (you can either state which one by color, or by number. Number 1 is the one on the far left, number 2 the one next to it, ext.) and the name that you want put under "Owner" in the cert. THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE YOUR GAIA USERNAME!

At this point, if no one else has already ordered the feather you want, it is being held for you until you send the trade.
Step 2: Send the Trade
Fairly self-explanitory, or so I think. Simply send the trade to RS_HQ, saying what it is for in the heading
Step 3: BE PATIENT!
The thing that you need to understand is... I acutally work on the feathers on a different machine then that which I use to run the shop. So don't freak out if your feather isn't delivered within five minutes. Just sit back and relax, you WILL get your feather within at least two days.

::So, you want a Rhada'Shim that you haven't seen around, huh? Well, then you can order a semi-custom or custom. Both are done on the following...

Sorry, I'm not doing these at the moment, as I am still getting the shop up and running. Check back later.

Semi-Customs
::If you are wondering just what semi-customs are, exactly, fear not. You are not alone. I myself wondered the same thing for a good long time before deciding what the definition was.

Basically, with a semi-custom, you can choose three things.

1. Gender
2. Color (there is a limit on this, anything request that I feel is too complicated with be bumped up to a full out 'Custom')
3. Alignment (no cross alignments with semi-customs)

How many you choose (and, with color, what complexity) will determine price. So yes, you can choose more then one thing to customize on, but it will make it more expensive. The three different options also have different prices.

The price range for a semi-custom would be the normal Rhada'Shim cost (5000g or one sealed letter) plus the additional costs listed below.
Semi-Custom Price
Gender: 1000g
~::The cheapest for you because it's easy for me! Ain't life grand?
Color: 3000g and higher
~::For semi-customs you can have 2-4 colors, any more then that qualifies for a custom job. The more colors you want, the more expensive it gets, so consider things. Color is the hardest semi-custom option for me to customize, and the prices WILL CLIMB QUICKLY. 3000 gets you two basic colors - one for the main body of you Shim and one for the horn/s, underside, (partially) the wings and possibly any patterns I decide to do. I decide how the coloring gos. If you want to get a bit more complex (a whole rainbow of colors!) then really, you need a custom, if you want less (only one color) then talk to me.
Alignment: 5000g (for common) 10,000g (for rare)
~::This is the most pricy becasue it give you the most control over your Shim. The common elements (so called simply because they pop up more) are Wind, Water, Earth and Flame and are are less expensive. The more expensive, rare elements - Light and Dark - MAY NOT ALWAYS BE AVALIBLE! I am trying to keep Light and Dark type Shim limited. The odds are against them not being avalible for customs or semi-customs, but there always is that chance.
The Total: ?
~::Tell me what you want. I will tell you how much it will cost. I can't anticipate what everyone will want and list it here.
Example Semi-Custom
Laacie* ordered:

5000 (or a sealed letter)
+ 1000 (gender)

If this lovely example existed, Laacie would get to choose alignment and gender, I would choose color, patterns, etc.

*To the best of my knowladge, there is no character named Laacie. If there is, I'm sorry, I didn't know.

Semi-Custom Slots
::Slot 1- Closed

Customs
::Ahh customs. The step beyond the semi.

And really, that's the definition. Double-check the semi-custom post, if what you want is there then go for it. If you want more then you are in the correct place!

For customs, there are 6 different options to choose from.

1. Gender
2. Color
3. Alignment (yes, you can create a cross-alignment custom, just keep in mind cross-alignments must be a harmonic cross or things don't work out)
4. Pattern
5. Class
6. Lineart

If you want the lineart changed, make sure you check with me first. It takes me LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of time (10+ hours) and much trouble to create any lineart whatsoever, as I do not as of yet have a drawing tablet OR a working scanner. I must jump through flaming hoops to even get my stuff scanned, and then I have to trace it over with a mouse or a TOUCH PAD, for crying out loud, before I can start coloring.

So basically, this option will not be avalible all the time. If my schedule is full or I already have too much stress in my life, I won't be offering it. When I am offering it, you will pay through the nose. So consider carefully.

Prices here start higher then normal Rhada'Shim - 6,000g or one sealed letter. Customizing then adds things. Prices vary depending on the things to add, look below for the list.
Custom Price
Gender: 1000g
~::Same price as for customs, as not a lot varies.
Color: 3000g and higher
~: razz rice starts the same as for semi-customs, just in case you want a cross-alignment with plain colors or something of the sort, but keep in mind that they will climb very quickly.
Alignment: 5000g (for common) 10,000g (for rare) 15,000g (for common/common cross-align) 20,000g (for common/rare cross-align)
~::Why not rare/rare cross-align? Simple. Light and Dark are not harmonious elements, so this combination cannot exist. So don't ask for it. As for the rest.... Like I said. Harmonious. Light and Dark can be crossed with anything but each other, and as for the rest, it's fairly simple. Water cannot cross with Flame. Wind cannot cross with Earth. Vice versa applies for all of these, please don't try to get clever and say something like 'Well, what about Flame/Water then, huh? Huh? Cuz you only said Water couldn't cross with Flame!'
Pattern: 5000g and higher
~::So you want white and blue ears, black feet, and pink and purple stripy wings? eek If you say so. Same rule of thumb applies here as everywhere else - the more you want, the more it will cost. However, I must also add the more complex the more it will cost and the more time it will take, the more it will cost. If I can use a brush setting for something, it will cost less then something I have to create on my own. And something simple - polka dots, for example - will be cheap!
Class: 6000g to 100,000
~::This option gives you an awful lot of control over how powerful your Shim will be, so prices will rise very, very, very quickly. Normal is automatic for customs, so 6000g is to start at 'Sensitive.' Prices skyrocket after this. If too many people order a demi-god Shim, that option will be removed. GOD/GODDESS IS NOT AVALIBLE FOR CUSTOMS! If you have a halo or something of the kind that you would be willing to give me (*cough*yearight*cough*) then yes, you could have a god/goddess and basically whatever else you wanted from me (my soul?), but other then that....
Lineart: 100,000g and higher
~: biggrin id I not tell you how hard this was for me? Did I not tell you that you would pay through the nose? I try to keep my prices resonable (cheap even, take a look at how much customs cost elsewhere), but this is something that it is very, very difficult for me to pull off. Prices may lower in the event of me getting a drawing tablet, but I don't have one right now. On the other hand, the cost will climb steeply if everyone wants one (or, more to the point, can afford one). Once again, this option is not always open. Double-check before you set your heart on anything.
Total: ?
~::Once again, I'm not that good a guesser. Tell me what you want, I will tell you how much it will cost.

+1000 (full-out custom fee)
+11000 (for 6 colors)
+15000 (for a common/common cross-align)
+20000 (for relativly complex pattern)
+6000 (for 'Sensative' class)

You can see how getting a semi-custom is cheaper.

Anyway, if this lovely case were real then Baashful would get to choose the only 6 colors on the shim, what HARMONIOUS common/common cross-align they wanted, a fairly complex pattern for those six colors and the 'Sensative' class. I would choose the gender, the lineart would be default.

Get it? Got it? Good.
* As far as I know, there is no such character as Baashful. If there is, I'm sorry. I didn't know.

Custom Slots

::Yes, I do accept bribes. If you really, really want that custom and no slots are open, then I can be... persuaded to do one for you. HOWEVER, keep in mind that those custom slots are closed for a reason. Getting me to come out and do one for you before a slot opens will be pricy.

::And now, one final note. Customs and semi-customs, yes, will take more time then flatsale Shim to get from me to you. They require much work and will probably not only be slow arrivals, but will be slower at growing then their flatsale counterparts.

::All those little questions that I don't want to answer 50 million times, I will post here. I suggest you read it before asking me a question that might be on the list.

Q: How do you pronounce... ah yes, Rhada'Shim anyway?
A: Rah (as in 'rah, rah, fight, fight') duh (as in 'umm... duh!') Shhh (like the sound you make to get someone to be quiet or the first bit of 'she') 'im (like the last part of Kim or him)

Q: Hey, I've been wondering if I can do this....
A: Read the rules and FAQ. Chances are, your question will be answered in there.

Q: Why are you ignoring me???????
A: Chances are, it is something in the rules/FAQ that you are ignoring. Doublecheck to be sure. If it's not... redface Poke me or something. Make sure that you do check first though, I tend to become grumpy when people poke me about things already explained.

Q: HAHA Kol ptz lollollol cn I liek hav on 4 fere?
A: ... stare No, and not at all if you ask "liek" that.

Q: Beautiful pets, can I get one?
A: Ahhh... much better. Sure you can get one, but you will need to get it by flatsale, raffle, auction, etc, just like everybody else.

Q: But... but you gave one to this random person over here!
A: I may at times randomly give out my Shim to friends or as birthday presants. If you don't complain, you may someday get one too. Don't beg.

Q: Hey, I have a Rhada'Shim already, but you just came out with this new supercool one that I really want (but don't have enough gold for). Can I trade in my old one?
A: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! scream scream scream !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!! Your Rhada'Shim has been with you a long time and loves you! Appreciate the pets you have and SAVE UP if you want a new one! PLEASE don't ask this, I might just blacklist you!

Q: I don't want my pet anymore, but I don't just want to erase it....
A: How sad.... Oh well.... If you want then you can have me auction it off for you so that it doesn't just die.... Keep in mind that if you do this, you will probably be greylisted IF NOT blacklisted. I sold you your Rhada'Shim with the understanding that you would love and cherish it for all of your gaian lifetime. If, for some reason beyond your control, you have to leave or can no longer take care of your Rhada'Shim, inform me of the fact. I can retire your pet as well, and maybe resurect them, if you ever manage to get back to the point that you could have it.

Q: Are these guys RP required?
A: No, but you can get tons of cool stuff by RPing that you can't anywhere else, like uping your stats, pets falling in love, faster growth, naturally smarter and stronger pets, gaurdians.... All that good stuff and even more. Every once in a while I do throw out random events for RPers while they are roleplaying. Like, oh, say, treasure chests that might contain any number of things....

Q: Can Rhada'Shim talk?
A: ...In a way, I suppose. Rhada'Shim can communicate with each other using their own language of a rumble a bit like a purr, yips, growls, a very pretty noise resembling a sigh and other small noises. They can also, however, communicate with their companions (IE owners) and anyone else that they come to REALLY, TRUELY trust telepathically. When communicating this way, it is mainly in emotions, images, sounds, smells, etc; they can speak, but do so rarely.

Q: When do they start to talk?
A: Sometime in the "Child" stage. How early depends on how smart they are. The will start to send somewhat fuddled emotions in the kit stage SOMETIMES, but this all depends on the Rhada'Shim. Also, keep in mind that they cannot communicate perfectly the first time they try. It takes some time and practice, just like when you were young.

Q: Can I roleplay my other pets in here?
A: SURE! Roleplay your Rhada'Shim and all your other pets! It's more fun that way!

Q: How do I get a quest?
A: I will give you one, outlining a goal and circumstances. Keep in mind that only people who hang around and roleplay often will get a quest, and if I do give you one then I have to check it over to make sure how you solved your problem is realistic before anything is updated, so keep a record. mrgreen

Q: What IS a quest, anyway????
A: A quest is a roleplaying situation with certain requirements you must fulfil in order to compleate it and get the prize. They are COMPLEATLY RANDOM, and the only way that you will never get a quest is if you buy your pet and vanish. If you don't want it, you can refuse, but I would suggest accepting unless you really can not, for some reason.

Q: Can I co-own a pet with my friend?
A: Sorry but no, at least for now. I am fairly new at running a shop, and am still working everything out. When I'm a bit better at it, then I may reconsider, but you're both going to have to buy your own if you want one at this point.

Q: Do you do pet trades?
A: Yup! Just make me the offer (there are some ideas for this in my post). Don't be crushed if I refuse you (I have a pretty heavy work-load at the moment) but don't be afraid of ask either.

Q: Can I buy a feather for someone else at the flatsale?
A: Sure! Just specify who you're buying it for so that I can put their name on the cert!

Q: I bought this feather for myself at the last flatsale... but now I want to give it to a friend...
A: Well, if you really want to then you can, but I'm going to charge 500g to switch ownership. Not that pricy, but it'll cause a bit of trouble for me and so I charge...

Q: Can I use my Angelic Camisole to pay for my Rhada'Shim?
A: Pure k only in flatsales, please. You can use rares, donation items and store-bought items over 20k to pay on Auctions, Raffles and Customs though!

Q: How long to auctions last, anyway?
A: However long they do that time. Sorry I can't give you anything more specific then that, but length varies. Just keep your eyes open!

Q: What about raffles, then?
A: Raffles have either a set amount of tickets that I will sell before closing it off, or they may be "speed raffles," where anyone can buy as many tickets as they like for one or two days before closing ticket sales.
