In a future where the human population has become reliant upon automations and instant gratification, there are two factions. One, The Folio is the government organization whose mission it is to keep unique thought from spreading in the masses. The other, a rebel group bent on the usurpation of The Folio, is known simply as The Literati. The two groups are determined to destroy each other in order to achieve their own ends.
As human kind grew in knowledge and technological advancement, so did the creative and imaginative mind wane. Unique thought was overrun by the power of the wealthy. Fear of the destruction a single individual might bring upon society through unique thoughts and ideas began to mount as Government propaganda pushed on the individual the stereotype of a loose cannon madman.
Slowly, society as a mass grew into a well-oiled non-thinking machine. Thoughts were reserved to measure out your sugar into your tea by the tablespoon, but soon, even this stopped as sugar was rationed and the public was told how much sugar they liked in their drinks and foods. Reading has become an obsolete practice, replaced by audio chips that play messages. Road signs are a thing of the past. Now, when you drive (if you are not in a major city where you now have no option but to take public transportation) your car radio plays the word stop, speed limits, and street names.
As technology increased, so did the overrunning of animal habitats and pollution. The last known animal: a cat named "Subject Gama", died long ago of old age. Animals no longer exist and have dissolved into pictures and video clips in digital libraries.
As well as losing all animals on the planet, the inefficiency of the book has caused it to become extinct... or so the mass media fed populace believes.
The Folio, a secret background society of the government holds all the copies of any ancient books in an enormous underground library. Books of all kinds are kept here, hidden away from society to dissuade society from seeing a better way of life or getting "bad ideas". The Folio keeps these books under lock and key, and few of them see the light of day.
Opposing The Folio are the few rebels who know of the Folio's existence and their withholding of these books. This group, led by a former Folio who was discarded by the governmental association, is known as The Literati. They fight to topple The Folio. Smuggling books when they can from the underground library, The Literati struggle to bring unique thought back to society by distributing the books to new literati members.
These books, however, are not your usual run-of-the-mill tomes. Due to the adaptation of human kind over the years, the imagination is indeed a powerful weapon. When one reads one of these books, the mind of that person can imagine a creature from that book into physical being. These creatures are known as the Pensi. The Pensi are used as tools in the struggle between the factions. They are easily trainable and are loyal, able-bodied fighters to the one who brought them to life, their Pensith.

The Pensi
The Pensi are creatures imagined by a more developed human mind from books. They are creatures or beings brought to physical existence by those who have read the book.

the Pensi have three known stages; Closed, Opened, and The Imagined.

Closed - The Closed stage is the stage in which the book is yet to be read, and the Pensi yet to be Imagined.

Opened - The Open stage is the stage in which the book is currently being read. The Pensi will be imagined as soon as the reader finishes the book.

The Imagined - The Imagined stage is the stage in which the Pensi has been brought to life by the imagination of the reader, who is now known as a Pensith. The Pensi is now able to fight for whichever side it is affiliated with. The Pensi is only as strong as the mind of the one who imagined it. A stronger mind means that the Pensi will have more power. Every Pensi in it's Imagined stage is completely different from any other.

This is just what it sounds like. we'll put up the thread for the flatsale, and post the first stages of the Pensi along with some basic information about the Pensi. In this way of buying, you won't know what the Pensi will look like in the end, aside from the colors, but you can certainly have a good idea if you know what the book is about.
There is no single price for flatsales. K.amikaz.e and EmilyamI will determine the price by the effort and time put into it.

There is a limited number of tickets per raffle, but not per person.

An Auction works much in the way a Flatsale does. In order for your bid to count, you have to answer a question correctly. With every bid, we will put up a new question for the next bidder to answer. Your bids can not be withdrawn. Do not bid and say, "Oh, I'm just kidding." If you don't have the money - don't bid.

Custom prices will vary, depending upon the difficulty of the Pensi you want. They will be a little pricer than at a flatsale, so be forewarned. The price usually ranges from 5,ooo gold to 2o,ooo gold.

Two factions take precedence in the world. One is the government society of The Folio; the other is the underground rebellion of The Literati.

[. The Folio .]
The Folio is the governmental organization designed to hide unique thought from the people. If the public were to get new ideas from books, they may decide to usurp their government, and The Folio is designed to ensure that does not happen. A committee of six, known as The Folio Rey, leads The Folio. The committee is comprised of a number of government officials and military leaders. All Folio members, upon being told to join (there is no choice, you join when they tell you or you die), receive their own book from which to imagine a Pensi.

[. The positions of The Folio .]
The Rey: The committee of six that leads The Folio. You must be selected by the committee to join The Folio. And, in the case that a committee member has died or needs to be replaced, The Rey decides on the new member to be promoted to Rey status. (These are not open to the public. If we think you are worthy of this status, you will get it.)
The Librarians: The Librarians are those Folios whose job it is to catalog and keep records of all books in the Library. A select few are allowed to do this, and if you do get this position, you better not lose track of any of the books. If The Rey gets wind of it, it’ll be your head.
The Spies: There are few more spies than Librarians. These are the people who slip in among the population in an attempt at getting word of the operations of The Literati. They are rarely in danger of execution, but if caught by some of the more radical of The Literati, well… you can imagine.
The Guards: The Guards are the more common of The Folio. These are the people who don’t have much pull, but they guard the Library. If you are found sleeping at your post or you let the rebels slip in, you’ll be killed.

[. The Literati .]
The Literati is the group of rebels who are attempting to overthrow The Folio. They want to spread the ideas of free thought and ideas through the world through many ways. The Literati smuggles books out of the Library when they can, and distributes them among themselves. They bring in a number of people whom they know they can trust, but are very cautious about whom they affiliate with; after all, The Folio has a number of spies and workers. The Literati is much less powered economically, and is run out of broken down warehouses and the abandoned subway and sewer systems.

[. The Positions of the Literati .]
Heatherlan: This is the leader of The Literati. A former Folio who was removed from office and escaped before execution, Heatherlan is devoted to the cause of The Literati with a fervor. Few know who Heatherlan really is, only those close to the top in The Literati have ever seen their leader. Heatherlan organizes all operations of The Literati, including Library raids, hacking, and approving new members. (This is EmilyamI's roleplay character and is not open to the public.)
The Raiders: Raiders are those few Literati with connections on the inside of the Folio. They can move in and out of The Folio using either stealth or going in with their Pensi ready to attack. The stealth is favored, and attacking is only used as a last resort. Upon retrieving books, they report to Heatherlan, who distributes the books. They are independent in the hierarchy of The Literati, and do not answer to anyone but Heatherlan.
The Resistance Leaders: There are only a few Resistance Leaders. They are in command of individual groups of The Literati, which are known as Resistances. They answer directly to Heatherlan and relay all of the leader’s orders to their group. Each Resistance Leader has a variety of positions in their Resistance.
The Hackers: Hackers are specialized Literati with a particular inclination towards technology. The hackers have been known to insert quick messages into newscasts and radio broadcasts about The Folio and the Library. They also use their skills to mix up the book records of the Library in order to make smuggling easier. There are generally two Hackers in every Resistance.
The Recorders: Recorders keep a record of all operations within their Resistance. They keep a roster of the Literati members and their Pensi, as well as dates of raids, hacks, and other operations. There are usually three collaborating Recorders to each Resistance.
The Pensith: The Pensith make up the body of the Literati. These are the fighters and those who search out possible new members. There are generally a good dozen or so Pensith to each Resistance. These also work odd jobs in The Literati. Some are cooks, repairmen, and some search out new hideaways for the group.
