R.A.U.

Introduction

Welcome to the R.A.U. scam prevention unit base. I DNTM have been on gaia for quite a while (a year or so), have seen and experienced scams. To be precised I have changed accounts twice as the first one had been hacked. This project has been in mind for several months now and has been inspired to be brought to life by MoCC a.k.a. Monster of Cerulean City.

This thread is our mutual base and is dedicated all to those who wish to help us prevent our fellow gaians to experience horrible (not to mention irritating) scams and hacks on GAIA. If there are some who are interested in being part of our brigade, please donnot hesitate.

What is R.A.U. ?

Signification R.A.U.: Red Alert Unit

Définition: A unit or brigade that holds out petitions for security system changes on GAIA. Security systems such as to prevent the come backs of hackers and scammers on GAIA. Some on GAIA experience hacks and scams of all kinds. Either through contests, trades and even PMs.

Aside holding up petitions, we take on reports from users and deal with the hacker/scammer in question. I know we can't trully ban them since we are not MOD but some hesitate to report of don't even know if it is an actual hack. So we will do it in your place, just describe the situation. This can be veryhandy for us to update our prevent

And last R.A.U. surveys the the forums and look for scammings.

Petitions

Definite ban

This is a petition to ask the system founders of GAIA to definitely ban the hackers they have taken care of in the past. As some may know, they come back with but a different username, and have tentative to do the same trecherous schemes they have done before (hacking, scamming, violating GAIA ToS). Personnal opinion of R.A.U. is that it is absolutely useless to ban the same user on a different account countless times.

So we propose a system which identifies IP adress of the violator and as well as comparation of e-mail adress (if the user is using the same address) and which will prevent this user from eve logging in again or creating a new account. This system trully exists, and is used for high classified websites. Since GAIA has become the biggest hangout on the web, it should be classified as a reputed website.

MOD Accounts Information - scammer

Scammers can easily change their name and make it difficult for you to track them. Their profile url never changes though. If the names of the people above don't match the name of the account they link to, it's because they changed their name in an attempt to avoiding being found. It also means that they may be running more scams. I suggest you ignore them all. For some reason they've managed to elude being banned. They abandon their account for a period of time and return later when they believe to have been forgotten.
