Warning: There is a lot of information in this thread, more than even the Chrysthalls (copyright Samee). If you wish to own an Eternal Requiem character, it is imperative that you read most of the info, if not all of it. There's no way you can know what's going on and how to play ER if you don't know anything about WhiteWolf's WoD RPGs. I've tried to keep the amount of reading material down as much as I could, not that you can tell. >_>

In other words, if you don't like to read, perhaps ER isn't for you!

The shop is Closed.

sango_evers won the 100 page freebie. Congrats.
In other news, I'll be working on the front page a bit more. Finishing it up, polishing it off. I'm working on the storyline as well.

Welcome Bob Dobbs, dbz2004, Xpressionless, and brokenraven...our four new players. Look forward to rping with you.

We got arts. And RP in the guild. All I can say is...

"We're not dead yet! Think we might go for a walk. We feel happy! We feel happy! We feel....~*THUNK*"

Sorry, the person responisble for that has been sacked.
That concludesthe Monty Python moment....

We've moved. We used to be here. Due to Gaia glitching, we lost the ability to edit the front page. So, with this, it gave us reason to 1. start over with a new and simplified shop thread, and b. put more effort into making the guild spiffy.

The Winners for the Theme Song Contest

In no particular order....

Slyabney
Shiaree
Sarabi Adruenna
spookyx7
Tomodachi Kiko
Seraphina_Angel

Congrats.

And Arrikanez won the raffle. But I gave a prize of sorts to the other person that bought tickets.

We also now have a link button to our guild.

The World of Darkness

Eternal Requiem is based on White Wolf's World of Darkness roleplaying games.

It is not our own world, though it is close enough for fearsome discomfort. Rather, the world inhabited by vampires and werewolves and faeries is ours, but through a looking glass darkly. Evil is palpable and ubiquitous in this world; the final nights are upon us, and the whole planet teeters on a razor's edge of tension. It is a world of darkness.

Superficially, the World of Darkness is like the "real" world we all inhabit. The same bands are popular, violence still plagues the inner city, graft and corruption infest the same governments, and society still looks to the same cities for its culture. The World of Darkness has a Statue of Liberty, an Eiffel Tower and a CBGB's. More present than in our world, though, is the undercurrent of horror -- our world's ills are all the more pronounced in the World of Darkness. Our fears are real. Our governments are more degenerate. Our ecosystem dies a bit more each night. And vampires, werewolves, and fae all exist.

Eternal Requiem emphasizes a horrific theme above all others. How does it feel to leave a dead, bloodless child in a dumpster? To manipulate mortals like pawns on a chessboard? To suspect that the elders wield you as an unwitting weapon against ancient foes? To eke out an life of secrecy and bloodshed? To succumb to the wiles of the beast within and tear innocent victims to shreds?

General Rules

Roleplay is a MUST. That's kind of the whole point of the shop, isn't it? If you don't want to roleplay, then there's no point in getting a character. But it's not that demanding, either. One major storyline a month, locate your chracter at least once a week.

Please don't complain about the price.. The artist works hard to get all these characters drawn and colored. Kaliskanny works hard on getting things organized, chracters done, flatsales, auctions, etc, up and going, as well as prodding Jynk for tags.

If you start a fight, you will be warned. If you continue, you will be blacklisted. I've seen this all too often; someone comes in wanting a character, but they've got a horribly bad attitude. Sometimes they complain, other times they just come off as completely rude. Then other people (often regulars to the shop) retaliate with hostility. I've often been one of the shopgoers that gets offended by the newcomer's attitude; I know what it feels like. I try my best to be nice and polite, but for everyone, there's a breaking point; please don't try to reach it.

Do not steal the art! If we find out about it, we'll eat you with some fava beans and a nice chianti. domokun

Do not PM any staff unless directed to, or asked to.

If there are no chracters available, do not ask. Don't whine or beg either. You can try to bribe Kaliskanny, but it might not work either. The only exception to this rule is if it's a custom. Then please read over the character creation stuff below, and pm Kaliskanny with your order. Note, a custom is 100k autobuy.

Try to use proper English and grammar. We can understand typos...I'm not the world's best at typing. And I have a sticky spacebar. But constant bad spelling and grammar get sold real quick. Note, if it's in character, alright then...but keep it in character.

NO L33T SPEAK! Damnit, it's annoying. Over use of it will find you on the black list. It's not that hard to use an 'E' rather than a '3', is it?

There is no refund! Sorry, there is no refund. When a person gets a character, I'm hoping they are going to rp the character. I can understand if real life gets in the way. But if you say you give the character up, it's gone. If you took time to rp it a personality, we will hold a contest and and the winner of the contest will pay 5k, which will go to the former owner. Best you come to a refund. Otherwise, it goes back to the sale block or raffle stand.

I'll add more as needed.

Flatsale Rules

Flatsales
There are none right now, but they are in the works.

Flatsales will be RP oriented. Meaning that I will write a prompt and you will respond to it, and I will judge the winners. Flatsold characters are premade characters, usually fairly important to the plot.

Flatsale characters are 10k. Kaliskanny and the artists think this is an agreeable price considering the amount of work that goes into the images and tags and such.

Don't complain about the flatsale results. We can't please everyone, though we certainly try.

You have 24 hours to send the trade. If the trade is not received on time, we will alert the next person and they will get the character (provided they can send the trade on time as well. xD) We totally understand if the bank is not working; if this is the case then we'll extend the time limit.

Auction Rules

Auctions
None at this time.

In order to bid, we may have you answer a prompt. Most times auctions are for custom chracters, or semi-custom. Some times these are hard, sometimes easy. They can also be for pre-generated restricted characters.

Auctions will last about a week. This is to give people time to create a good character, time for me to help people with character creation if need be, and time for people to actually bid. This time limit will be extended if Gaia goes down, glitches happen, or we need more time period.

Starting bid will be 15k. I think this is a fair start point. Auctions are for custom, or semi-custom, after all. This means you could even be getting a restricted chracter type.

Event Rules

Events
There are no events at this time.

The events here can be almost anything we think of. Raffles for pre-gen restricted character types. Raffles for example characters fro the events. Raffles for 'Free Character, non-restricted type' vouchers. Contests for semi-customs. Contests for customs. RP oriented things. You never know. Sometimes we don't. xp

User Image

How much RP is involved? Alright, I know some of you think these are hard to maintain...but they're not. All that you are required to do is get involved in one major storyline a month. This can be soemthing like a mission from the Prince (or whoever is in charge of your species), tracking down a kidnapper, or something that would invlove a group of you. Granted your chracter has their own agendas, and you gain EXP from them...but part of the game is group efforts. Remember: There's no I in team. But there is a me if you rearrange the letters. The other thing you're required to do, as far as RP, is locate your character in the RP at least once a week. This means do some sort of action to let us know where the character is in the city. And example: Brendanus stood in his office, looking over the city. It looked like it would be a quiet night, he hoped he was right. That's it. That's all that's required.

Wow these are cool! Can I have a ... <insert character here>?

Woah, wait. First of all, is there a flatsale going on? No? How about an auction or event? None of those, either? You'll have to wait then. Plus... some of these types of characters are restricted, so even if you win a custom, you might not be able to get exactly what you want.

Do you do customs?

Customs will either be auctioned off, or sold in "create-your-own-character" events. Otherwise, you can autobuy them for 100k, or offer a pet trade. There are also semi-customs where you do half the work, and we do the other half. Depending on what needs to be done.

Do I need to direct-link?

You can, but it'd be nice for you to save on your own server.

Are journals involved?

Yes they are, although they're not the type of journals you'd expect. Roleplaying entries and journal entries are not expected. The only purpose journals fulfill is to keep track of your character's progress. Their full character sheet will be recorded there, and as you earn experience points for your character, those points will go towards your character's prowess in skills and abilities. Also, your inventory will be kept here. You can even get sketches of your character for the journal as well.

How many characters can we own?

I'll allow up to three, but if it becomes apparent that you can't keep up with three, then you'll have to pick one to give up to someone else.

What does the [RESTRICTED] by some of the character types mean?

Sometimes the word [RESTRICTED] appears next to a character trait, race, type, etc., this means that most people will not be able to use this trait for their character. The only way you will be able to get these types of characters is if you win a custom, and even then I will require a good explanation of why you think you should be able to play that character.

Who are the staff?

We run this asylum. A full list of who does what can be found in the first post.

We want to clone your shop. Is that cool?

No, not really. We worked very hard getting the info, the artist, and everything set up. It took a long time. We know that White wolf is out there, and anyone can use it, but that's still not a reason. We know there are other shops out there based on Changeling. And that's cool. But we tried to encompass the whole World of Darkness, which is not easy.

If Daimyn created the shop, why does Kaliskanny own it?

Good question.

What are these vouchers we're hearing about?

These are like special tickets, or I.O.U's that are either handed out, or won. Don't ask for one, you won't get nothing but a boot to the head. They are extreamly rare.

But so-and-so got a free pet!!

They're special and we like them. Besides, it's our shop.

How often are chracters available? When ever we get around to it. Sometimes real life steps in and we're not able to. And then sometimes it depends on what work load comes first. Customs and semi-customs come first, in that order, then the other work loads...flatsales, raffles, auctions.

twisted Is Kaliskanny really a slave driver? twisted Yes, she makes us cry. crying

What is EXP mean? EXP is experience points. You earn them by role-playing. Then you use them to buy stats for your chracter, or inventory from the Pawn Shoppe.

If I give up my chracter, can I choose how it gets a new owner or can i have a refund? Nope. If you feel you needto give up your chracter, I will find it a new player in some manner. You get no refund, sorry. If you didn't rp the chracter to give an example of the personality, I will flatsale or raffle it. If it had some sort of personality people can see, an rp contest might be held, and the winner pays 1/2 the flatsale price to go back to the former owner.

<not done obviously>

Currently, the only ways to get a custom character is to: 1), win one in an auction; 2), recieve one in a pet trade with Vian and/or Kaliskanny; or 3), pay the autobuy price of 100k (this may change depending on the popularity of autobought customs o.o; ). PM Kaliskanny for autobuying a custom.

Whether you win, buy, or trade for a custom, if you are granted a custom character you need to check this post out!

I put this post at the top of the page for many reasons. One is so those getting a custom or semi-custom can make their characters. Two, so those who get pre-generated, or pre-gen, chracters in flatsales can understand what the things on their cert mean. Those making a character would need to fill out the following, I apologize for the leangth:

Name: Name of your character. It can have a first and last name, or a long name. What ever your character goes by, though, will be on the cert. If their name is Dances in Alley, but everyone calls them Alley, they will have Alley on the cert.

Player: This is your, the owner. You play them in the role-play setting. You can claim to be the onwer, you own the character. But on the certs, you're the player.

Nature: You character's true personality, the one they keep hidden. To thine own self be true.

Demeanor: Your characters outward self. Who he wants people to think of him. He might really be a nice guy, but he doesn't have to show it.

The above are picked from the archtypes. Here is a little on archtypes:
Archetypes (Nature and Demeanor)
Nature: This is your character's true self, the person he or she really is. Their personality in a word, basically.

Demeanor: This is the personality your character displays to the public. It can be totally opposite to your character's Nature, or it can be similar.

Sample archetypes are shown below. These are merely sample ones. You can pick others that are not on the list.
Architect - You build a better future.
Autocrat - You need control.
Bon Vivant - Unlife is for pleasure.
Bravo - Strength is all that matters.
Caregiver - Everyone needs nurturing.
Celebrant - You exist for your passion.
Child - Won't somebody be there for you?
Competitor - You must be the best.
Conformist - You follow and assist.
Conniver - Others exist for your benefit.
Curmudgeon - Nothing is worthwhile.
Deviant - You exist for no one's pleasure but your own.
Director - You oversee what must be done.
Fanatic - The cause is all that matters.
Gallant - You're not the showstopper; you're the show!
Judge - The truth is out there.
Loner - You make your own way.
Martyr - You suffer for the greater good.
Masochist - You test your limits every night.
Monster - You're Damned, so act like it!
Pedagogue - You save others through knowledge.
Penitent - Unlife is a curse to atone for.
Perfectionist - Nothing is good enough.
Rebel - You follow no one's rules.
Rogue - Those who can, win. Those who can't, lose. You can.
Survivor - Nothing can keep you down.
Thrill-Seeker - The rush is all that matters.
Traditionalist - As it has always been, so it shall be.
Trickster - Laughter dims the pain.
Visionary - There is something beyond all this.

Concept: This is who your chracter is. Thier job, or station in life. It tells us in three words or less about your character. If they're a cop...what kind? Maybe they're a narcotics specialist. It's always good to maybe think of this first, then work around it.
Here's some more info on concepts:
Concept: All right, here's where we get to explaining things in detail. (This info is from Vampire: The Masquerade core book, 3rd edition.)

A character's concept refers to either who the character is, or who the character was before becoming a vampire. Many Kindred cling desperately to any salvageable aspects of their former selves -- their self-image, their occupation, how they lived, what was unique about them.

Here are some sample concepts... but don't feel like you need to stick to what's written! If you have a concept you'd like to use but don't see it on here, (or if you would just like to suggest one), post it!

Criminal -- jailbird, Mafioso, drug dealer, pimp, carjacker, thug, theif
Drifter -- bum, smuggler, prostitute, junkie, biker, gambler
Entertainer -- musician, film star, artist, club kid, model
Intellectual -- writer, student, scientist, philosopher, social critic
Investigator -- detective, beat cop, government agent, private eye, witch-hunter
Kid -- child, runaway, outcast, urchin, gangbanger
Nightlifer -- clubgoer, skinhead, punk, barfly, raver, substance abuser, goth
Outsider -- urban primitive, refugee, minority, conspiracy theorist
Politician -- judge, public official, councilor, aide, speechwriter
Professional -- engineer, doctor, computer programmer, lawyer, industrialist
Reporter -- journalist, news reporter, paparazzo, talk-show host, magazine editor
Socialite -- dilettante, host, playboy, sycophant, prominent spouse
Soldier -- bodyguard, enforcer, mercenary, soldier of fortune, Green Beret

Race/Species: This is the over all species you picked. The majority will be non-restricted species (or character types). These include: Vampire, Werewolf, Changeling, and Mortal (Human). The non-restricted are Mage, Hunter, Mummy, and Demon.

Extra Info
This is the information that sets the species apart from each other. Not all of them will have the same information, simply because it doesn't apply.
I'll list them by the species:

Vampire
Clan: This is the clan in which your vampire belongs to Each clan has thier own weaknesses and strengths. It also determines what disciplines you start out with. For a list of the clans, and information on disciplines, see the vampire post below.

Sire: Who made them a vampire? Do they know? If they know, you can list it here. But please, have it in your background somewhere. If they don't know, then put unknown. If they know, but you don't want to post it about, put unspecified.

Age: This is not your human age, or your vampiric age. That can go in your journal. This is the age at what your generation would determine you. Fledglings are childer who are still under their sire's protection and tutelage. Neonates have been released to walk on their own, and become Ancillae at around a hundred years. Ancillae are usually between one and two hundred years of unlife. Elders have existed for hundreds of years. Methuselahs are seen as demigods and avatars, between a thousand to two thousand years of age. Antediluvians are gods, most likely the most powerful beings on earth. They have existed for thousands of years.

Sect:This is what group you belong to. Are you the Camarilla, that strive to hide what they are from the humans with their precious Masquerade. Or are you Sabbat, who believe if they be monsters, then let them be monsters. They are the masters, humans but the playthings. Or maybe your an Independant and don't care either way, or live by your own rules. Maybe you have yet to be bought to either side. More of this will be in the vampire post.

Childer: Did you create any vampires? If you did, you can list them here. If not, put none. There is no way you would not know if you did or didn't, but if you don't want to list them, put unspecified.

Werewolf
Tribe: This is the tribe your character belongs to. They were born to it, and such are affected by the tribe's weaknesses and bonuses. This also is dictates what Gifts you'll be able to choose. (There is a list of Tribes and Gifts below in the Werewolf post.)

Breed: This is what breed you were born as. A Homid is born a human, whether is was from human parents, or one human and one werewolf. Lupus are born as wolves, be it from two wolves, or from a wolf and a werewolf. Metis are the freakish offspring of two werewolves. They are born in their Crinos forms, and often have mutations or handicaps. They are highly frowned upon by the other Garou (werewolves.) This also dictates what Gifts you can choose from.

Auspice: This is what moon you were born under. It's decided by the phases of the moon. Full moon, half-moon, new moon, and so forth.
Ragabash: New Moon - The Trickster
Theurge: Cresent Moon - The Seer
Philodox: Half Moon - The Judge
Galliard: Gibbous Moon - The Moon Dancer
Ahroun: Full Moon - The Warrior

Totem: What totem does your character have? Coyote, Dana, The Trash Heap? More on totems will be in the Werewolf post in the guild. There are just too many to name.

Rank: Your rank among your kind. Everyone starts with a rank of one. You build it up with experience.

Changeling
Kith: This is what type of faerie you are. It determines your weaknesses and bonuses for your chracter. There is a list of kiths in the Changeling post below, and more info in the guild.

Legacies: Okay, so on the certs it just says Seelie and Unseelie. Well, that's how they're listed. If you are in the Seelie court, your seelie legacy will be listed first, if you are in the Unseelie court, it will be listed first. There will be a list of the Legacies below. There really are a lot.

House: This is Sidhe noble house you either belong to, or are affiliated with. You don't have to have a house. And unless you're a sidhe, you really wouldn't have one anyway.

Rank: No, this isn't like the other one. this is your title, if you have one, that was given to you by the local court. There will be more info in the guild.

Mortals
Age: This is pretty self explanatory. We will most likely do it in a generalization. Child: You're only 3-13 years old. Teen: You're only 14-19 years old. Youth: You're only 20-35 years old. Adult: You're 36-55 years old. Elder: You're 56 and above.

Parents: Who were they? If you don't know, put unknown. (Note, this should be pointed out why in your background.) If you don't want to list them, put unspecified.

Children: Same as above, but with children. It is possible to have unknown children, but you need to put the reasons in your background.

Mage
Traditon: This determines the style of magic you practice, the philosophy, belief, and science of it. A list of the Traditions will be below in the Mage post.

Essence: This is your Avatar Archtype. If your Mage has has an avatar it will be listed in this space. For more information on Avatar Essences, please see the Mage post in the guild.

Cabal: This is the group your Mage belongs to, like a coven or such. Your Mage doesn't have to belong to a cabal, but if they do, it'll be here.

Specialty Sphere: Each Tradition has a sphere is specializes in. There will be a list of spheres in the Mage post below.

Hunter
Creed: This is how your character percives the world, what they believe in, and how they decide to contend with the monsters out there. There is a list of Creeds in the Hunter post below.

Primary Virtue: Your primary virtue, the one that dominates the others. For more info on virtues see the Hunter post below, or the Hunter thread in the guild.

Starting Conviction: Your characters inner streangth and drive for the hunt is measured in terms of Conviction. Your Creed determines your starting conviction.

Mummy
Amenti: This is the type of mummy your character is. It dictates the weaknesses of your chracter. Thereis a list of Amenti in the Mummy post below.

Tem-ahk: The past soul in which joined with your characters modern sould to become the mummy. This may have been a soldier, a pottery maker, a sage, a prisoner...anything. Not all of them are Egyptian, but mearly died there. History shows many different people at one time or another lived in Egypt, from African tribes, to Greeks and Romans, to people of the Middle East. Take some time to think about the Tem-ahk.

Inheritence:This represents the life of the tem-ahk before it passed on to the Lands of the Dead. It helps determine the qualities such as Amenti and Nature. It also determines the sort of memories and abilities the mummy can recall from their First Life. Samples inheritence: priest, soldier, slave. It's like the above, but rather than the name, your listing the concept.

Primary Hakau: This is determined by your Amenti. It's like the mage speciality sphere.

Hamartia: The joining happens because the human that the tem-ahk chose has one 'tragic flaw' that the tem-ahk can fit into and make them a whole person. If they were weak, a strong tem-ahk, like a soldier, might find them.

Demons
House: The demonic House your demon belongs to. This determines their weaknesses, as well as their outlook and attitude. There is a list of Houses in the demon post below.

Faction: The faction the character belongs to. The demon's choice of factions determines their outlooks on humanity, the future of the fallen, and it's attitude towards other demons. There is a list of Factions in the Demon post below.

Visage: This is the name of the character's apocolyptic form, determined by the character's primary lore. For more information, see the Demon thread in the guild.

Primary Lore: This it the dominate lore your demon uses, it determines their visage. For a list of lores, see the demon post below.

Information here was gathered from: Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocolypse, Chnageling: The Dreaming, Mage: the Ascension, Hunter: the Reckoning, Mummy: the Resurrection, and Demon: the Fallen. All books are copyright to White Wolf Game Studio.

Creatures of the night
Feasting on your mortal prey
Dancethe shadows with your kind
Hide by day from the glaring light
-A.

Vampire. A curse of unlife and forever nights. The immortal bloodsuckers of the horror genre. To feed on those you once were. Some find the transition easy to accept, some don't. Whatever the case, they all have one thing in common - the hunger.

Vampire society is a whirl of variety. The different clans have thier own ways of doing things, as do the different sects. The Camarilla try to blend in, go unnoticed in mortal society. The Sabbat strive to tear down the Masquerade, showing the mortals who their masters are and that monsters do exist. Then, there are the Independants, who can be persuaded to either side...when not working for their own profit.

Blood filled bags of flesh
Defilers of our Earth
Saviors or destroyers of our hidden selves
Puppets one and all, toys and playthings
-A.

What can we say? Just your run of the mill normal, nonspecial human. Mortals have no powers, and rarely can defend themselves against the Wolrd of Darkness...though they try. However, with out them, those of the night would perish - or be bored.

Don't over look having a mortal character. They can be fun. Your mortal can always become something supernatural later on, via roleplay. It makes for an interesting storyline, not to mention adds to your background.

There is no special list of things for a mortal.

Alright, I'm not totally finished with this concept, but here goes.

Characters are only allowed three weapons in their inventory. They must have the stats to be able to use the items, as well as a good background reason. (You can't have a four in firearms and not explain how you know about guns.)

You can have as many other items as you like. Laptops, cameras, ect.

There will be an Inventory shop in the guild, ran by an NPC. More on that later.

You will use exp (experience points) to buy weapons and other inventory objects. They will be text only...because I don't know anyone who can draw weapons or other items...and it's just easier anyway.

If you reach your limit, and want another weapon...you have to trade it in. If the katana you got was 20 EXP, you can tradeit in for 10 EXP credit towards your next weapon. Make sense? Good. I'll post a thread in the guild later and people can suggest weapons. Mind you, I do have a book with a huge list of weapons, and their stats.

I'll write more on this post later.
<center>User Image</center>

Stats and Inventory
Basically this post will be for telling you what the journals are for. The first post will have your character uncerted, as well as their 'character sheet'. Wren is working on how it will look. Your inventory will also be kept on the first post....or second post....we'll figure it out. Either way, we keep up with your stats and inventory. Mainly because of the EXP you gain while role-playing.

Backgrounds and Other Info
You will need to write up your characters background and anything else that will help you keep track of your chracter. You might also choose to list contacts here, or important dates. This is the only thing we require you to keep up with. Your background, contacts, and other useful bits.

Journal Entries
"Dear Diary, Today I was pompous and my sister was crazy." "Today, we were kidnapped by hill folk never to be seen again. It was the best day ever."
-Adam Baldwin as Jayne, Firefly

You do not have to keep journal entries. It's not required. You can have your character keep a journal if you like, it's up to you. We may or may not give exp for this...it just depends.

Please note that Vian only takes requests when time allows. Please check status for availability.
