Welcome to Ninniach Elen Imlad (Rainbow Star Valley) Elemental Training School! You may have no idea what element you fit in with, or you might already be halfway to mastering your skills. Whether you are akin to Air, Earth, Fire or Water, you will be welcomed. Here you will find all levels of training, as well as standard schooling to complete your education. To make your stay comfortable, well furnished dorm rooms are available. Feel free to mingle with the other students and make new friends. Our teachers and staff are always available if you have any questions. Applications to join the school will be mailed directly to Headmistress Raissa. We hope you enjoy your time here!

Thread Rules
1. Please be literate and check your spelling
2. I expect 1 to 2 1/2 paragraphs. I do NOT want an essay/novel. Go to an advanced lit RP if your going to write like that. I want this rp open to a wide range of people, so lower literacy roleplayers don't feel intimidated. Post size examples HERE
3. Never, ever, EVER pm me or pester me to ask when I'm going to post if I haven't in a few days. I have a life. Go get one while you're waiting.
4. Out Of Character chat goes here: OOC Thread
5. Dating is fine. Yaoi/Yuri are encouraged and accepted.
6. PG-13 means minimal swearing, no sex, no nudity or mass bloodshed. You know how this site works. Keep to the TOS, blah blah blah.
7. Keep the fancy elaborate post styles to a minimum please. They stretch and clutter the page.
8. Those applying as Teachers should be available to post every day, as they will be more or less leading other roleplayers. Classes cannot continue unless teachers are present. Exceptions will be made in case of emergencies.
9. Please tell me if you know you'll be gone for more than a few days, so I don't wonder where you went. It's courteous to the other roleplayers so thier character isn't stuck waiting for a post from you!

How to join
1. PM me your profile. (Do NOT post it in the thread!)
2. Title your PM 'Elemental School'. I have a few rps, so this makes it easier to know which one you're applying for.
3. Send me a sample post. Doesn't have to be of your character in this RP. Can be an example from another RP your in. Copy n paste the post (no links for me to have to search through).
4. Don't post in the RP until I have accepted your profile and put it in the Accepted Profiles section.
5. Be sure to check the dorm list to see what slots are open before you apply.
6. There's a secret word in this first page somewhere. Find it and use it as your character's middle name.
7. First posts will consist of: Teachers planning for opening ceremonies. Students packing up belongings and making the trip over the Northern mountains into the valley. If you apply late (after classes already started), please report to Headmistress Raissa's office.

School Rules
1. Please do not change into your elemental forms except during elemental classes. Older students and teachers may change if circumstances require it during other times.
2. Do not invade other elements dorms other than your own without permission from the teacher of that element.
3. No fighting other than elemental or self defense classes.
4. Students are required to wear thier colored uniforms during class hours.
Air - yellow/light blue
Earth - green/brown
Fire - red/black
Water - blue/light green
Teachers - Formal wear with colors of your element
5. If you register late, after classes start, report to Headmistress Raissa's office
6. Curfew is 10 pm. Do not leave school grounds after dark.
7. All who break rules will be sentenced to detention during free time.
These rules are a work in progress and will be updated. Check back ASAP =D

The main important areas are as follows:
Forest - Waterfall/Lake - Valley - Volcanic mountains

The forest consists of well, trees. It includes hiking trails and a multitude of plant and animal species. The forest surrounds the valley, at the base of the mountains. A clearing in the Northern area will be the meeting place for Earth elemental training.

At the Western end of the valley, a waterfall cascades down between the mountains. It flows east, settling in a large clear lake full of fish. The lake is a general meeting place for all wildlife. Water elemental trainees will meet in a cave at the base of the waterfall.

The heavens of the wide valley which encompass the school campus are the playground for Air elementals. Birds soar across the skies, filling the air with various chirps and screeches. Elemental trainees will gather in the East.

On the Southern and Northern sides of the valley, mountains flank the school grounds. Though the Northern mountains lay dormant and safe, the mountains in the south are constantly bubbling and smoldering with volcanic ash. Only the eldest and strongest Fire elementals are able to keep the valley's residents safe. Here is where the young students will also meet.

The main school campus is divided into five interconnected buildings. One for each element with dorms, as well as the center building which houses the community areas.
Central Community areas are:
Lunchroom, Library, Teachers Lounge, Courtyard, etc.

Each elemental dorm has it's own kitchen and lounge area, including couches, TV, a surround sound stereo system and more! Rooms are located upstairs, above the lounge area.

Headmistress Raissa Takahi was bustling around the school campus, helping the teachers and staff decorate the front gates and courtyard. New students would be soon arriving, and the yearly ceremonies would begin. The ceremony would take place in the center courtyard, a community area where all elements gathered in harmony. She was still planning her speech, highly distracted by thoughts of the troublesome first years coming in less than a week. Sometimes she wished they would all just behave, but she knew they would be tearing around the place, exploring and gaining knowledge that would further advance thier recently developing powers.

Looking up towards the peaks of the Northern mountains, she could clearly imagine the students hiking up and over the tops, or flying, lead by the elder teachers or parents. They would disperse to thier dorms for the night, and the ceremony would begin the next morning. Turning back to the front gates, Raissa readjusted a multicolored bow. "Welcome...," she mumbled to herself, attempting to focus on practicing her speech, "Welcome to Ninniach Elen Imlad..."

Can't believe it, I'm going back...hmm a small smile formed on her face till she heard her door open."Mom...please stop..." As Yuki Shizuka stood in her almost empty room, with her mother holding her, "Oh do be careful Yuki. I'm really going to miss you. And be sure you eat, and don't slack...don't get burned either! Like last year...and don't forget to practice...yo-you-your arts..." Sniffling every now and then in mid sentences she hugs her leaving daughter tighter, tears still falling from her face. Yuki tries to calm her mother down, but was unsuccessful and claimed defeat and just stood there till her mother was done. "Dear! We have to hurry! Yuki's gotta go..." Just in the nick of time. My dad. "He's right mom, and plus, it's not like I'm going to be gone forever" She patted her mother's back and gave her a kiss on the cheek, holding in the sorrow of not seeing her parents for quite sometime...she fallowed her father out her room carrying the leftover luggage her dad left...just a few seconds later she ran back in her room and hugged her mom one last time before leaving "I'll be sure to write mom...I Love You" a single tear fell and with that she took a couple steps back and headed out the door, her father holding the car door open for her, "Lets go" he said with a warm smile. As the car began to move, Yuki took a deep breath and sighed "Here we go...to Ninniach Elen Imlad..."

Sandra flew lazily over the towering mountain range, a sizable suitcase in her front talons. She was heading for her second year at Ninniach Elen Imland, and it was going to be great, she could tell.

Spiraling down to land, Sandra quickly resumed her human form and headed into the school.

Kura leapt up the rocky slope easily, her strong legs carrying her quickly through the underbrush. He was happy to be returning to N.E.I. and refused to think about it being her last year of freedom. Beside her ran Estfar, an older satyr that her father had sent as an escort. He did this every year when it was time for classes to start up again- picking a companion to ensure her safely to the school, going over the terms of their agreement... She thought he was a little over pretective, though it probly came with the territory when you were the sole heir to one of the most powerful earth elemental families known.

Both satyrs, one light, one dark, slowed as they neared the school, stopping for a minute and dropping their packs. The elder stood guard while Kura melted into her human form and slipped into a white dress, the same color that her fur had been seconds before. It felt slightly suffocating against her skin but though her own kind was naturally comfortable with nudity, other races were a different matter- and the rules where always to blend in. Finished changing, it was her turn to stand lookout and Kura took the oppertunity to tie back her long snowy hair. The whole process took place without a word- it had been completed so many times that cxommunication wasn't necessary. They picked up their packs anew, and began the last mile toward the school.

Alexandra was swimming in the river near her house, delaying having to leave for school. Her mother held the handle of her suitcase, waiting impatiently. "Come on Alex, its time to leave!" The young girl whined and rolled her eyes as she slowly walked up to the house. "I won't miss much if I'm a little late. There's still a few days til classes start." She headed inside to dry off, her mother following. "You know it will take a few days to get there, especially the hike over the mountains." Alex sighed loudly, coming out of her room in fresh dry clothes. "I don't wanna go." However, she grabbed the suitcase anyway and dragged it out to the car, ignoring her mother's shouts of "It's good for you!"

Headmistress Raissa turned to look in the direction of the mountains again and gave a small smile as a girl flew over to the school. She looked familiar and scrabbled in her mind for a name. "Of course...," she mumbled to her self, remembering the name of the second year student. "Good morning, Sandra!" She could sense off in the distance, a few other students on the way. If only the teachers were this prompt in arriving as well.

Sandra blinked as someone called her name, then recognized the voice and smiled.She had heard quite a bit of it over the last year, afterall.

"Good Morning Headmistress Raissa!" she responded, hefting her heavy suitcase and walking over to stand by the older woman, "Am I the first here?" Sandra asked with a bit of glee, her hands tapping out a rythm on her jeans as the theme to Dragnet blasted through her headphones.
