The fields were the only place Minami ever wanted to be. The open sky with the grass that stretched out to cover miles away was beautiful and he appreciated every second of the air he was breathing. Minami was all suited up, head to toe in a cute helmet, a coat embroidered with school colors, and riding boots to go along with his attire. Saddling up, Minami patted Ellie's head and brushed her mane down. Ellie was his horse, he named it after an old friend. It reminded him to stay motivated and try to stray from the loss of desire. He swung a leg over Ellie's back and leaned in over her head. "Ready?" He whispered in a scratchy voice. Almost like she knew exactly what Minami was saying, Ellie began clicking her hoofs. Today was a beautiful day and Minami loved beautiful things.
The wind pushed through his hair as he rode freely through the fields and even in the outskirts of forests surrounding the campus. It was like the forest he never explored in his childhood, but he had the freedom now. He had the spirit now. After a good run, Minami gently hit Ellie's head, causing her to stop. She didn't like that much, but it made her stop so that was a plus. Slowing down and enjoying the day, the two trotted along the sunny-glazed grass. "This competition won't know what's coming for them, will they Ellie?" He questioned the horse, obviously thinking she would answer, but obviously knowing she couldn't. He laughed slightly at himself, feeling the horse skip in her steps. Ellie was beautiful and Minami absolutely loved beautiful things.
Suddenly, Ellie came to a halt. Before looking at why she stopped, Minami looked down at Ellie and asked what she was doing, again thinking she'd answer. He looked up and saw it. He saw him. The one that was beautiful all the time, rain or shine. The one that he was a little in love with. The one with charm, good looks, grace, everything. Putting a dorky smile on his face, he pressed his lips together in a mischievous thought. Quietly patting on Ellie's side, he motioned her to walk forward. The sun was shining through the trees and casting the shadow of the one he loved right onto his face like a vintage projector. Except the white noise and pops in the projector was replaced with Minami's heart pounding and his mind running about.
"What'cha watchin'?" Minami asked in his slightly ticklish voice. Yamada. He was his roommate for the third year in a row now and each year Minami had fallen harder for him. He smiled from up on the horse, half shadow faced and half shining. He hopped down from Ellie and got on more of a mutual level with Yamada. "What are you doing all the way out here? Practicing singing?" He said with a small grin. "You sound beautiful, if my opinion matters at all." He added in, trying to embarrass Yamada deep inside. It was cute when he got flustered and it was something Minami didn't get to see often. "You knoooow, you don't have to come all the way out here to watch that kind of show. By that kind I mean, uh, er, drama type show. No one is in the dorm last time I checked." Minami offered, knowing Yamada probably came out here for privacy. "It must be a lot of work on you to come all the way out here, isn't it?" Minami questioned with a worried look on his face. He was always looking nervous or worried or just flat spaced out. When it came to Yamada, he usually had the worried look painted on his face, arched eyebrows and a slightly opened mouth. He was desperate, but not just for anyone. Only for the one beautiful thing that out-shined the outdoors, the indoors, the everything.
