                            • A group of ambitious world changers [scientists/psychologists] pocketed all their money in one project, whether they will be successful or fail, it all depends on this shot. With the high risk of losing even the clothes on their bodies, they set up one unconventional town. A raffle and selected applicants were conjured to partake in the test, unaware of what it is truly about but offered a ‘life changing experience’. These lucky winners were set on a trip to a desolate area, nothing for miles but the small makeshift town that sprouted like mushrooms after the rain. The contestants range from social class, specialty and even race, the goal of this diverse group is to either work together and micromanage their life there or fail going past the social norm.

The town is freshly rebuilt, from the roads to the houses, everything was set by a plan on how to make this small community feel like a whole. The houses are all different in shape and size, some smaller than others or more colorful or dull from others. Highlighted locations are the convenience store, clothes store as well as a library, the pharmacy only offers certain medicine, those who are under a prescription will receive the pills once a month with the restock of the various locations.

Now, what's the trick? The group of individuals will have to micromanage this, from how they can disperse jobs and tasks to what they use as currency. They have free choice on what they wish to do in the community, whether they will handle the store to even managing the gardens, they will not receive extra help besides the basic needs.

                              • First of all, this is a long term role play. Yes, it will go on and continue as a group project of those who wish to keep onto it and watch it evolve. Gaia TOS and every other guideline applies here as well, do not start quarrels among each other and behave with others the way you wish them to do. Real life images, i wont accept any drawn or anime, its a slice of life, we need some sort of touch of realism in this. Activity is a must, whether in the OOC/Chat or posting, please announce if anything comes up in your life and you wont be able to post. At least two posts a week, more is good as long as it keeps the story moving. Diversity, gender, sexuality or race, everyone is welcome in the role play. The post length requirement is two good paragraphs, if you write more, i would be happy. Give your fellow partners something to reply to and not just write fluff posts.

If you wish to partake in the role play, please be dedicated and communicative, in the profile thread you will find the coding. Once you have the reserve up, pm me the profile with a silly title. Only when you are accepted you may post. The role play will have few rpers but each is allowed to have up to 3 characters. My last rule is, have fun, make friends and build this role play as a team, you are part of a community and everyone has a say in what will come next.

I have the right to change, add or remove rules.

                                • The Homes
Among the locations of business people can tend to there are homes of different sizes, styles and of course luxury. While most are set up with basic comfort, they can hold up to five people if needed. Inside each home the new owner will find the keys to lock it if they wish, but are there any thieves? The houses were built with the details given in the questionnaire, whether the house looks like the one they described or not is up to what the founding offered.

                                  The Store
The store handles almost anything that is required, from cookie dough to even frozen pizza. What you wont find? Bread, vegetables, all the things that will be bad in a few days. Of course cans are trending and everything that can last for one month. Toiletries, basic cleaning products, its a well stocked store that will require a worker or two to handle and unpack products when the shelves run low.

                                  The Bakery
Want something sweet? Miss the good taste of bread or a fresh made pastrie? Look no further, equipped with everything you need to start kneading the dough to baking it, all you require is to either go get a book from the library or luck on your side the first baking experience wont turn into a charcoal brick. The bakery requires one or two people to handle, whether one handling the products on the window display to making the actual products.

                                  The Gardens
Freshly grown produce, if you have a green thumb, you can tend to this lovely plot of land and have an array of seeds at your disposal. Among the already shaped plots of land you will find apple trees and various other fruits to collect. Requires some help with harvesting but the end result is worth the effort.

                                  The Pharmacy
While not stocked to the brim with medicine, it has the basic of pills and required aid. From bandages to some painkillers, you can sure hope to find at least the little things that you would miss in this place. Requires someone to handle the selling of the products and restocking the shelves.

                                                    • Morgeaux took a deep breath before falling down onto her bed with a sigh of relief. It had been an entire week for her being in the new town, and she had finally finished unpacking what was brought. Thankfully, the people who offered for her to move even helped with people to help her moved the boxes from her house into the truck and then back out when she arrived. The coverage of that cost alone seemed to make the separation from her town all the easier despite the going away party the week before she said sayonara. Some people seemed oddly heartbroken by her decision - people she hadn't connected with in awhile had even tried to convince her to stay, yet what was her answer? This place doesn't need me anymore. It's time to move on. Only her sisters seem to understand her traveler's soul.

The auburn-haired woman, between all the unpacking, had spent her breaks walking around the city and getting a feel for what all it held. Since fewer residents came with her initial batch, it seemed quite soulless with the apartment buildings, storefronts, gardening center...And how could it have spirit without the energy of the residents? She also noticed the odd way it was setup, too. It felt like it had come right out of a comic book but then was quaint-ified to be less modern and more like an old town. Especially with the houses out in the suburbs of the city? At least, some aspects of the place felt that way. Maybe she had some rose-colored glasses on the town since it was the getaway of a lifetime.

Glancing at the clock in her room, Morgeaux pushed off from the bed and grabbed her bag off the coat hanger before leaving the house. Did she need to lock her door? There was some part of her that felt like she shouldn't have to because it was a new town with people who all wished to live here - hopefully in peace? - just like her. But on the other hand...Humanity still was humanity, wasn't it? How could you be so cynical? she chided, shaking her head slightly before taking her key out to lock the door. Better safe than sorry.

Hurrying off the porch, the ranger headed for the inner parts of town where she could go about acquiring groceries. The house was fully furnished when she arrived but the fridge was left barren probably since no one could possibly guess any single one person's tastes and interests with food. Hopefully, the place would have a fine variety of everything she enjoyed, but most particularly, she was interested in the selection of spices and cereal. When she felt like cooking, she loved to be a tad fancy for herself, and when she felt lazy...she just wanted a great bowl of cereal. And as her eyes fell upon the store, Morgeaux couldn't help but feel her heart leap with excitement. Would the store owner be a resident who had joined the community? Would they be kind-hearted like she always wished?

Norman had left his true home in less than ideal circumstances, he and his mother fought as they sometimes did. He wished to leave, she wanted him to stay with her. As much as he loved his mother, her grip on him was suffocating him, he needed to take his first steps in the real world as an adult, without his mother censoring everything that went on around him. She had cried, he kept calm, she yelled and threw things across the room, he picked everything up and addressed her in a hushed voice, careful not to disturb their neighbors. His final words before he departed, as he clutched his mother's hands firmly in his own, were "mother, the the hardest thing is letting go of someone you love, but just think about all the wonderful opportunities, for the both of us. I love you more than anything on this Earth and beyond, but this is something that I must do, to better understand myself and who I am." With a quick peck on the cheek, he was gone.

A week had passed since his arrival to the new town, the place was desolate at first with few inhabitants arriving on the day he did. He tended not to converse with anyone there, preferring to settle himself in more than socialize. His bookshelves had been packed with his books, The Feynman Lectures on Physics, both volumes of University Physics, The Principles of Quantum Mechanics, both halves of Aeneid, The Histories of Herodotus among countless others. His books were his pride and joy, especially the older ones whose contents were in a language long since dead. The assumption that no one would have the audacity to thieve them was with reason, few could read the languages he knew which would depreciate the value to null, this didn't mean that he wasn't weary of them however.

It was still early, however, Norman was outside, getting a feel for the city as he had done for the past week. His hands were tucked into the pockets of his jacket as he walked, his joyful bounce still present. He walked past the store, garden and and bakery, greeting everyone who happened to cross his path with a gentle albeit awkward smile and a nod of his head. He wouldn't have chosen to work in either of the places, the store meant dealing with people which definitely wasn't his strong suite, tending to the garden would be a tedious task that would require him to know more than just the basics, and the bakery, there was no doubt that he would burn the place to the ground if he tried, instead, he opted to seclude himself in the library, cleaning up and storing away books that lay askew. It wasn't a fun job, but someone had to do it, there was no way that he would let his sanctum become a chaotic and disorganized mess.

Norman entered the library quietly, making sure to close the door as gently as possible like as if he closed it even so much as a decibel louder, he would disturb someone. The male quickly gazed at some of the books, picked out a random one and sat at his usual spot. His cool-blue eyes scanned the words on the book before him, mouth murmuring the words as fast as his eyes moved. A few pages prior to hitting 100, his stomach let out a low rumble, one that made him pause for a moment and look around. He had skipped breakfast every day since parting for his mother, something that he would only do on very rare occasions. He made a mental note on what page he was on and what book it was before he slid it into place and left the building.

The walk had taken a little longer than it should have due to the fact that he had stopped half way and took a moment to glance around at the scenery, admiring the beauty of the new town. Once at the store, he stood outside and readied his wallet, unsure on what they accepted. The food that his mother had forced him to take had served him well over the past week, allowing him to have lunch and dinner without needing anything other than a microwave. This was in a completely different community however, who knew what the rules were or if there were any at all, they might have had a different currency for all he knew. Now stationary outside of the store, Norman contemplated whether he should just retire to his home or enter and figure out what the deal was, after all, it was bound to happen at some stage.

It wasn't much of an event when Ruby left home, her mother was always busy working two jobs so once again it was only Ruby at home for the last week she was home. It had taken her awhile to pack and she was deeply sad that she had to leave, but she knew it would lead to a better life for her. When she had entered the raffle she didn't think that she would actually win, Ruby always had bad luck when it came to winning, so when she was told she had won it literally came out of nowhere. Her mother, of course, was sad to see her leave, but she was twenty-one already, it was about time that she had left home.

Now it was a week later and she was still technically moving into her new home. There were a couple boxes still left to unpack but most of her books were sent to the library at least. She still had a couple at home that she wanted to keep for herself, but the others she didn't mind if other people checked them out. When it came to picking jobs Ruby knew exactly which job she wanted. The bakery and Pharmacy were out of the question, she knew that she wouldn't actually do well at either location. While the Garden was interesting she didn't actually know that much about plants, the Library on the other hand. It was a quiet place where she could read as much as she wanted to but wouldn't be that taxing of a job for her to do either.

She wasn't the only one though that had picked the library though, Norman was there as well. He had brought his own books from home as well, and having looked through them already she realized they might have different taste in books. Her were all mostly fiction while it seemed he leaned more towards non-fiction. Which wasn't a generally bad thing but she still wasn't quite sure what to make of the guy.

Nowadays she spent most of her days at the library, like right now. Ruby was laying on top of one of the bookshelves, these things were actually pretty sturdy and tall. It wasn't unusual for her to hang out on top of them, Norman didn't seem to quite like it so she normally didn't get bothered. She had her headphones around her neck and she could hear her music playing through them. Technically she was working so she couldn't exactly ignore the library so she couldn't put them on completely. This was the only real comprise she could think of, she looked towards the entrance when she heard the door open. It was just Norman leaving for the day, seeing him leave made her remember there were a couple of things she needed to do today. In truth, she needed to go to the store to pick up something things to eat, the pharmacy for some bandages for her hands, but for right now she felt like chilling out in the library, she could do shopping later.

Due to lack of interest, tomorrow is canceled
