Lydia's luck ran short and a group of second and third years crowded her compartment. She growled in annoyance as they clambered inside the small space uncaring that she was already there. "Do you mind?" she said sharply, "I was here first. Find your own compartment." They all looked at each other and hesitated before a young Raven spoke up, "The Slytherins took over a part of the train and won't let any of the other houses in. We'll stay as quiet as possible." he promised as the others nodded their heads in agreement. She gave a quiet sigh and nodded allowing them all to stay. Lydia turned back to her book but was soon distracted by giggles. She let it slide and continued reading. More giggles. She closed her book with a snap and stood making the compartment dead silent.

"I'm leaving." She announced then left the second and third years behind her without a second glance. Lydia sighed, she didn't want to ask someone to let her into their compartment. The entire reason she arrived so early was to avoid human interaction. Unfortunately that's exactly what she had to do now so with her book in her hand and her bag securely on her shoulder Lydia went in search of an empty or somewhat empty compartment. Most of the compartments had two or more people who were loud and rambunctious until she reached one with just a single person.

She slid open the compartment door and noticed the person to be Adam King from the Slytherin house. He seemed absorbed in his sketch and she felt guilty for interrupting him, but this would probably be the only quiet place she could go to. "May I sit here?" she asked pointing to the seat next to where his feet were currently resting on.

The girl seemed to be struggling for the name of the school and simply just told Rika that it was around the area. She gave a small hesitant smile as she introduced herself as Hoshino Kirako. Rika's own lips turned up to a gentle smile when she quietly asked if they made vanilla lattes, "Yes, of course I can get that to you right away." she told her but before she could reach out to guide her to a table the cafe door bursted open and Hoshino-san had to steady herself on the door frame to avoid falling.

Their newest employee, Takada Ayumi, turned up fashionably late to her shift. Rika placed a hand on her shoulder to help steady her, "Hoshino-san, are you okay?" she asked worriedly. Her eyebrows furrowed into a frown and her lips pursed as Kudou-san gently chided the girl. It wasn't her place to go and give the girl a good stern lecture on being late, but then again she thought to herself as she stared at her, The poor thing looks dead on her feet. Rika let it pass for the moment as sympathy swept through her at the girls situation. While she had only two other mouths to feed, other than her own, Takada-san had many more from what she had gathered.

Looking back at Hoshino-san, her mind seemed to snap into place as she took in her appearance without her sunglasses in the way. It was Star-Ko. Before she could comment on the fact, Toyama-kun came through the door looking for Kudou-san and then became a knight in shining armor as he picked up the fallen sunglasses and set them back on Hoshino-sama's face. Rika laughed at his antics, "Good afternoon to you to, Toyama-kun!" She turned back to Hoshino-sama and her smile faltered for a split second and gave a polite bow in apology, "I'm so sorry for having you stand for so long, I can seat you right over here."

Rika saw a glimpse of loneliness stand out on her face as she stared at Toyama-kun and Kudou-san greet each other, "Ne, Fujioka-san, who was that just now?" she asked Rika curiously as she looked at her wrists, "I'd like to pay for his order, as thanks for picking up my sunglasses.". Rika guided her to a table and had her sit down, "He's Toyama Daichi-san desu, please wait here while I go get some ice for your wrist and your vanilla latte."

She left the singer at her table as she rushed into the kitchen to grab an ice pack. Rika couldn't believe that one of her favorite idols was in the cafe! Nerves flitted through her as she made the order for the latte. She closed her eyes and groaned, she had the nerve to sing Star-Ko's cover song as well. I probably made a horrible impression of the song too she thought worriedly. Her mind flashed back to the look on her face that Hoshino-sama had earlier. She looks so sad . . . and lonely, she thought to herself, maybe she doesn't have many friends because of how idolized she is. Rika finished the order and went to the refrigerator to grab ice. She set her mouth in determination. I'll be her friend! I won't be star struck! She gave a nod to herself and pushed the kitchen doors towards Hoshino-sama.

Setting down the vanilla latte she handed over the ice, "Here, it'll help the swelling. I hope you enjoy your latte! If you need anything else don't hesitate to ask, I'll be right back after I let the other staff know of your request." With that said she walked over to Kudou-san to inform him. Sure, maybe, just maybe she really wanted to get to know the star but here she was at work and Hoshino-sama, still a human being and her guest, probably wanted some down time away from screaming fans.

Screaming. I have to get away. Fire. Mom. Yelling. Dad. Running. Rika. Bullets firing.

"Nee-chan!" Mei yelled as she sat up abruptly. She gasped for air as she put her hands on her face, trying to hold back the sobs that were threatening to come out. "Otousan . . . Okaasan . . ." she whispered, "Where are you?"

It was three and a half months since the battle and still no word had come from her family. To her it was unexpected and a surprise, but her family had been expecting a retaliation after an attack on a government official. They had quickly found a safe place for their youngest daughter and enrolled her into the boarding school for the following year. That boarding school was where she was now. She had just arrived at the end of the previous school year and was expected to begin her studies the following fall. Mei had simply brushed it off thinking that it was just a place for her to stay until her family came to collect her, but slowly her confidence faded. They had not come for her in nearly four months.

Slowly she pieced herself back to together. She couldn't let anyone see how broken she felt. She was a soldier. She was a Fire Elemental. Finally she slipped out of her bed and began her morning daily routine. Shower. Teeth. Uniform. Hair. Shoes. Bag. Usually at this time she would be done with her morning workout and just heading in to shower but today she had to be prepared. Today was the first day of school and everyone was due to show up any time now. It unnerved her that there were going to be other different Elementals her age but she wasn't going to let it phase her. Mei was simply there to train until her powers were at its peak and then she could go find her family. She wasn't there to make any friends.

The clicking of her shoes echoed down the hallway as she made her way towards the front office where she knew her schedule would be. Already there were a few students filling the hallway and trying to find their dorm rooms or find their way around campus. She grimaced, she would definitely miss the silence. Mei shrugged her bag further on her shoulder and made her way to the secretary at the front office. "Fujioka. Mei." she muttered, avoiding eye contact. The lady at the office passed over her schedule for the year and a copy of the school rules, then waved for the next person behind her.

Mei then made her way towards the cafeteria to pick up a light breakfast at the protest of her empty stomach. She grabbed an apple, granola bar, and a water then sat her 5'6 frame at an empty table to look over her school schedule.
