''There we go. That's better.'' Europe spoke softly and quietly as she finished up watering some pots filled with daffodils. She always spoke like this, if she even spoke at all. But, that's just how she was. She was currently working at her flower shop, Moondrop Flowers. When you walk inside, you're immediately greeted with tons of different flowers and since most of the walls were covered with windows, tons of sunshine. The smell that some of these flowers give off also create a pleasant aroma throughout the whole shop and around it. Right in the back of the shop is where the greenhouse is for more flowers, and in the back of that is fields filled with, of course, even more flowers. This is where Europe worked, and she loved it. It was peaceful, a cozy small shop surrounded by fields of flowers, and she was always surrounded by what she loved the most.

Europe set down her watering can onto a table beside her and she observed the daffodils. Her shepherd, Benji, sat right beside her, wagging his tail and looking up at the flowers. ''What do you think, Benji? You think they're ready to be put up for sale? Or should I maybe let them bloom just a tad more?'' She looked down at her dog then back up, obviously not expecting an answer from him. She hated making this decision. But..if she waited any longer, the flowers wouldn't last as long once it was bought. ''I think It's ready.'' She nodded her head and added a price tag onto the pot. Afterward, she began to walk down the row of flowers, wiping off some leaves from her work dress.

Europe raised her hand to check her watch. It was almost closing time. She wasn't one to get excited about finishing her job for the day since she liked it too much, but she was pretty happy that she can go out and do what she wanted. Maybe go to the beach, relax, and read her book. It sounded so delightful right now. Or maybe she could go check up Jeremiah, or Zahid. That was probably a good idea, too. She didn't really know though. But she had to finish her job up, first.

As Europe walked back over to the front desk, she heard Benji walk to the door and bark lightly. ''Hush, Benji.'' She said, writing the new flower, the daffodils, to her sales list. Seconds afterward, though, she heard the front door open up, and two people walk into the shop. She looked up to see a couple holding hands happily walk in and begin to look at all of the different flowers. ''They're all so beautiful!'' the female said happily. ''I don't know which to pick...'' After overhearing this, Europe smiled. She walked down a row of flowers and looked around. Finally, she found what she was looking for, and picked up a pot. She then walked over to the two of them. ''May I suggest these? Hydrangea's. They're beautiful, and they also give off a very nice scent.'' She spoke quietly but tried to be as confident as she could. The couple looked very delighted at the Hydrangea's, though. ''Would you like these?'' the male asked his partner, and of course, she said yes excitingly.

That was her fifth sale today, a pretty good day it was. But, finally, it was time for Europe to close up the shop until tomorrow. Feeling excited, she picked up her bag from the front desk and went into a back room to change out of her work dress. It sure was hot out today, she probably could just go to the beach. But what about her cousin? Or Zahid? ''Bah, make a decision, Europe!'' She spoke to herself and sighed. She probably checked up on the two of them a little too much. She just always felt an urge to make sure they were doing alright. Jeremiah was an actual family member, in fact, the only family member in town she has left. And Zahid...she's known him since she was only nine years old and they grew very close. But...maybe she should leave them be. Just this once. It'd probably be really annoying if she constantly went to them.

So, then, Xaelyn Beach it was.

Once Europe was finished dressing out, she walked out of the front door and looked around Westbrooke Hills. She wore a blue dress with a floral pattern and underneath was of course, her one-piece swimsuit with a flower design. Yep, she had countless floral clothing. Every time she goes shopping, she gets a little too excited when she saw something with flowers on it. But come on, it was flowers. She just had to buy it. Aside from that, the only kind of swimsuit she owns are one piece's. She couldn't see herself wearing a bikini, honestly, and mostly likely everyone else couldn't, either.

As Europe walked downtown towards the beach, she took out the book she was reading currently. And no, she didn't pick it only because the cover had flowers on it. Okay, maybe she did. Again, she can't help it. This is what happens to you when you've worked in a flower shop for so many years. You get obsessed. But to be honest the book itself was actually very interested, it had a good story to it. She wanted to continue reading it once she got to the beach, because she was dying to know what was going to happen next. Europe held the book with book of her hands and continued to walk on until she finally reached the beach. She stopped right when he reached the white sand and looked around. The water was absolutely beautiful today. It sparkled in the bright sun and many kids were in the water splashing each other and having a good time. There were also a lot of people laying in beach chairs and soaking up the sun and getting a tan. Europe turned her attention back to the beautiful shore again. You know, before she was only planning to sit in a chair and read a book on the beach. But now she really felt like going to the shore and putting her feet in the water a little bit..but not completely go in. She didn't want to get that wet.

So, that's just what Europe did. She walked onto the white sand, found a good spot, took off her boots and set down her bag and book. Her bag was probably going to be filled with sand by the time she's finished here, but she didn't really care. Right now she just wanted to enjoy herself. She slowly walked up to the shore where small waves splashed onto her legs. Dang, the water even felt good today. It wasn't too cold, it was just right. She started to walk around a bit on the shore, looking down at her feet and kicking the water happily.

Today was a nice day. And tomorrow would most likely be a nice day, too. Mostly because of the beach festival, of course! She was really excited to see the fireworks at night right on the beach...it was going to be perfect. Thing is, though, she didn't know who she was going with. Maybe just with a friend..Nyx? Zahid? Oh dear, she honestly had no idea. What if they've already found somebody to go with though?! There you go again, Europe. Thinking things over too much. Just calm down. You'll find somebody eventually. For now, just enjoy the beach. Yeah, just enjoy it.

Europe tried to shake her thoughts out of her head which obviously did not work and only made some of her hair stick of her face. She pushed the hair out of her face with her hands and sighed, looking down at the water. She readjust her hat since it almost flew off with the slight breeze.

'Can you please just stop being so awkward for once? ********, you're like this even when you're by yourself.'

She should probably go look for somebody around here that she knows. Right now, she's surrounded like a bunch of complete strangers. It just made her feel so much more awkward. Being in the shop with just a few people coming in and out is one thing, but being surrounded by a bunch of people you don't know is another. The beach wasn't too crowded..and everybody was minding their own business..but even so. Here Europe was, looking as shy as ever. Maybe she should go see if Jay is around. At least she'd be near somebody she knew. But she didn't know if he were even here today.

                                                  Well, great.

                                        Uwaaahhh!!! My precious pokemon..!!''

Pallet Town, the town of hero's, as everybody called it. A living legend was raised in this town, as everyone said. That is, until he decides to disappear, leaving everybody confused. Well, it wasn't much of a big deal for Evangeline. She could totally do the same as 'the one and only Red', how come she doesn't get as much recognition as him? Was it because of her thing for Water pokemon only? Nah, that couldn't be it..everybody loves water pokemon! Well, almost everybody. Her rage of terror - or rather just her running around like a lunatic - continued on within the fields of Pallet Town, for not having any of her amazing pokemon on her. This was the first time she didn't have a team of pokemon in a very long time..and she did not enjoy the feeling. What if a trainer came up to her right now and challenged her!? She wouldn't be prepared and then there goes a perfectly good battle to waste. Other than that, all of her pokemon were back at her home, otherwise known as Fuchsia's Daycare. Right at this moment, all of her pokemon could be crying their eyeballs out just to see their trainer again..or maybe their having fun in the bay area without her. Either way, it felt like such a tragedy to her.

Evan could feel the stares being thrown at her from the calm people of Pallet Town..some even looked through their windows of their homes to catch a look of her rage. A weird looking man from the tournament thing was chasing her, too, trying to calm her down. ''Nooo!!! I need my precious Blastoise!! My amazing Kingdra!! My insanely strong Politoed!! Kingler...Golduck...Lanturn... I miss them soo mucch..A wave cannot sway without WATEEEERRR!! UHG!!!'' Evan whimpered like a dog as she began to run off farther into the fields, her arms swinging around in all directions. ''Uhg, I'm going crazy... I've gone insane..'' Moaning loudly, she suddenly stopped in her tracks and turned around to the weird-looking man.

                                        ''Ma'am..just calm dow--''

                                        ''Blastoise..is that you!?''

Evan looked up at the man with twinkling eyes. Oh great, now she was thinking the man was her own Blastoise. It was really creeping the man out, too. He had backed up a bit and gave off a weird look, but you could tell he was trying to hold it back. Blinking a few times, she snapped out of it, and realized the man was not her own pokemon. Feeling quite disappointed, she let out a sigh and crossed her arms. ''I don't like you. I don't like you at all. In fact, I hate you for not being my Blastoise.'' She grumbled at him. She didn't even arrive too long ago and was already making a big scene in front of the neighborhood. Today was definitely not a quiet day for Pallet Town. Not when Evangeline was around, nope. Before she even got here, she was at Fuchsia saying her last goodbyes to her pokemon..and then of course, she went around the city, going into shops and saying goodbye to the workers there. Even if they didn't know her, she just had to say goodbye and hug them. As for her pokemon, they had all had toppled over her, but when it was time to go, they knew that it was time to retreat.

On the way to Pallet Town, she was also feeling herself go insane for not having any of her pokemon. She had totally snapped whenever she arrived and a man appeared to 'escort' her over to the lab. It was madness. This tournament was pure madness. Of course she knew how to get to Professor Oak's lab, it wasn't her first damn time here! Her first time wasn't for getting her first pokemon, though..she had already got her cute little Squirtle, so she just had to come for some pokeballs and her pokedex. Ah, the memories. If only she could somehow go back through time to relive all of the fun..

Sadly, that was the past, and this is now. So finally, the man decided to start pushing Evan from behind, with her trying to make him stop. ''Nooo!!!'' She shrieked, wiggling around to get out of his grip. The man was stronger, though, and he had to drag her from the fields all the way to the hill where Oak's lab resided on. Seriously, what kind of escorter literally drags her over to where they have to go? He could have been more of a gentleman about it, sheesh. Once they were there, the man let go of her and back away, a bit terrified. Evan looked up at the lab and crossed her arms. ''Pft...'' Starting to get some second thoughts about this stupid tournament, she began to walk up the steps. She didn't wanna do this without her pokemon..but it was the rules...and man did she hate rules. This place brought back some pretty good memories. Maybe it will be nice to be visiting it again. And maybe the pokemon she's going to get will be pretty cool after all. Maybe.

Sighing again, Evangeline then creaked open the door a bit, but finally opened it all the way and looked around. People were already lined up inside the lab, it made her feel like she was extra late after running around the fields like a lunatic. She was calmed down now though, and walked inside, into the line of everybody else..but farther away from them. She didn't feel like conversing with any of them at all..especially since a lot of the group already hated her guts. Well, there was still Mira, and Othello..those two she couldn't wait to see again. But the others..such as Valora, Eli, and Taj..well, she couldn't definitely wait a bit more before she'll greet them again. And then there was Ryker..it would be kind of awkward. Their not enemies, but yet, she didn't know if they were friends either. It was so complicated, she didn't wanna start the tournament the wrong way.

Evan stayed in place and listened as Professor Oak greeted them and started talking about whatever. Feeling her impatience, she tried to stay still long enough for him to finish up his little introductory. Most of his words though had gone over her head. Looking over at the table with all of the pokeballs, she could see her own just waiting to be picked up. Oh yay, her starchips were blue, her favorite color. And as for the pokeball..she could faintly see the pokemon inside it. Blue body..red spike things..now what was that pokemon called again? Looked like a gator type thing..evolves into a bigger gator thing...and then finally an extreme gator. Oh, oh yea, it was called a Totodile. She was expecting a Marill or something, to be honest.

Finally, the professor let all of them walk over to the pokeballs and cases. Without a moment to lose, Evan quickly raced over to her own and picked up the pokeball, followed by the case that held all of her star chips. ''Ah, blue is such a beautiful color~'' She said out loud, admiring how each of the chips reflected light off of themselves. Finally putting the case away though, she turned her attention to the pokeball and stared at it. This seriously wasn't as good as having a full team of water pokemon, but she was being force to make do. Before the professor had the chance to say his last words to everybody, Evan quickly ran out of the lab, and back down the hill. She held out the pokeball, as it began to open up. With a beam of red light, the Totodile came out, and looked up at her confusingly. The first thing she saw about this pokemon was how small it is compared to other Totodiles she's seen. Sighing quietly, she felt no motivation to train such a tiny Totodile. But she was being forced to get over it and make it strong. To her, the beginning was never the most fun. You start off with something simple, but then it gradually builds up and before you know it, you have a strong pokemon. Evan gave the Totodile the same look as it did to her. ''Hmmm..'' She said, crossing her arms. ''You're a pretty small Totodile, aren't ya?'' That one sentence seemed to have ticked off the pokemons bomb. Within a few seconds, it was jumping around and darting off to the opposite direction of the lab. ''Wha- HEY GET BACK HERE YOU.'' Evan shouted angrily, beginning to chase the small gator around. Well, this seemed like a very nice way to start a bond between trainer and pokemon, huh. Chasing it angrily across the fields as it ran around without a care in the world.

''OKAY. That's enough! Sheesh.'' Evangeline shouted out at the Totodile, making it stop and look over. Now, it was finally her chance. Holding out the pokeball again, she returned the Totodile into it and put it inside her bag. What was there to do now? She didn't really have much more business in Pallet Town. There wasn't much to do in this boring town, anyway. But maybe she can go say hi to Mira. Yes, that's definitely what she should do! Nice thinking, Evan. After catching her breathe for a minute, she turned back to the lab, standing in front of the hill. ''MIRAAAAAAA!!!!!!'' Evan yelled out up at the lab, assuming she was still within the building. She didn't feel like walking back up to it..she was too tired out from all that insane running.

''Yes, this is perfection! Ahah!'' Enkera bluntly exclaimed pretty loudly. Best part was that the dorm door and the window was opened up pretty wide. He couldn't help it though, he just loved being obnoxiously loud while people are listening. Turning around, he saw some people curiously looking inside as they walked by, their expressions as if saying 'Would you shut up..?'. ''You'd be saying the same thing if you saw all the beauty up in this room!'' He called out at them, then going up to the door to close it. Enkera had arrived on campus pretty early for his first day. Not that he was excited about classes. If classes were even being held today, he'd probably show up pretty late for it. He came early because, well, classes weren't being held, and also he wanted to get away from his hometown. He wasn't living with his parents anymore, but he didn't know where else to go so he rented an apartment for himself. Thank god he's out of that place, though.

Enkera began to stare around his side of the dorm. The walls were already filled with papers. Almost every square inch has sketches and drawings all around it, and even a canvas of a painting he was able to do last year. Perfection! For his stuff, though, he had stuffed all of his clothes into his drawer and left everything else in his bag, pushing it under his bed. He had all day to do the rest, and he wanted to spend most of his time putting all of his masterpieces onto the walls. But, when Enkera turned around to look over at his roommates side, it was empty. Totally dull and desolated. Of course, his roommate had not shown up yet, but he had a strong urge to tear out some more drawings from his old book and put them up on that side as well. He couldn't, though, and it was just painful. 'It's okay man, you can deal with it, just wait and hopefully he will put some posters or something up so it won't look as dull.' Even if his roommate did not put anything up...he'd probably add just one paper. It wouldn't hurt, right?

Enkera sighed and tried to stop thinking about his little OCD. He looked outside the window and wondered what he should do next. He could just go outside and roll around in the grass. Rolling around in the grass is always pretty fun. Especially when the grass is insanely soft. Somehow Enkera already knows that the academy has some pretty damn soft grass. Or, he can go help out his art and photography clubs get some more members in it. That sounded boring. He'd probably scare all of them off any who. He sighed. This was more difficult than he originally thought.

Finally though, Enkera picked up a brown leather book from his desk and walked out of his dorm. Looking both ways of the hallway for a second, he went the opposite way of the main entrance. Yep, he decided against going outside and rolling in the grass. It's not really something he can cause a ruckus about. There probably is, but Enkera just hasn't thought of a good scheme in which it could be. He would probably be thinking of a way right now, but he's already had some other theories in mind... which all kind of sucked. He needs more brainpower to do this sort of stuff. He was just lacking it due to getting used to sleeping until 3 in the afternoon.

So Enkera ended up aimlessly going around the halls for a bit, looking around blankly and wondering what to do. Sometimes he went up and spoke loudly to people, but they didn't seem interested in being annoyed, so he just left exclaiming ''WELL THEN! I'll see you guys later, hahaha!'' After a while of doing that though, something sparked in his memory. He got an update from his little group, didn't he? What was it again? Greeting people from Algeria? Reading about bacteria? No wait, it was that they should meet in the cafeteria. He didn't feel like it right now. They probably weren't even there yet. He can just say he was 'fashionably late'. But wait. There's bound to be food there, it's a cafeteria. But it was too far away. But.... food.

During his little dilemma he was having, Enkera was snapped out of it by a sudden click noise. It was quite faint from where he was but he still made it out. He turned a corner in the hallway and suddenly saw a familiar figure walking away from a pair of girls. He could easily be mistaken by a girl, but Enkera already knew who it was, and yes, he was a guy. ''EEY! IT'S YOH!'' He broke the peace in the hall by shouting towards Yoh. He pranced up to him and put his arm around his shoulders. ''How's it going my evil companion? How's the lady complexion working out for you so far??'' He couldn't help but add in that last part, but he assumed Yoh would know it was a joke. Enkera began to snicker away his geekish laugh. ''Another year, another round of pranks and schemes~ I actually want to do something for the first day back at the academy, but i'm still trying to figure out what. Maybe have everyone wake up tomorrow with the lawn totally dyed red? Naw, too cliche. Needs to be better than that. Huhuhu.'' He retracted his arms from Yoh's shoulder at this point. He began a big yawn full of intense boredom. ''BUT WHATEVER. I'll figure out all that junk laterr. What're ya planning on doing for the day? I don't even know what I'm gonna do. But don't we gotta go to the cafeteria? Or did it say we had to greet people from Algeria? I dun even know.''

''Ah, there we go.'' Elise spoke normally as she had just put down a watering can beside a row of three flower pots that were settled upon a window. Each of the flower pots carried her favorite flower, the coast lily. The lilies pointed down and were a bright redish-orange. She really adored the colors, though technically it wasn't her only favorite. It's very hard to choose your favorite when you work in a shop with many variations of nice flowers, so there's no way she could just settle for one.

After observing the flowers for a bit, Elise finally snapped out of her reverie and sighed. Since today was a holiday, the fireworks festival, her shop was closed for the day. There wasn't much else for her to do now that she didn't have to look over her flowers at the shop, and arrange them into bouquets. Although she was excited to go out and enjoy the fireworks later that evening, it was those type of holidays in Elysium where people set off to find a 'date' to spend it together with. Elise knows nothing of dates, and she already knows she won't be getting one tonight. Maybe she can go see the fireworks with her cousin, Serena? But what if she happens to find somebody for the event? She was having a small dilemma with her situation, but decided to worry about it later and enjoy the rest of the day.

''What to do, what to do....''

Even though it was already the afternoon, Elise's hair was hardly brushed. She figured she wouldn't be going out until the fireworks, but now that there isn't much else to do, she was having second thoughts. So finally, she went into her bathroom and began to brush her white hair out thoroughly, until it was curly and a bit frizzy, but yet noticeably brushed. While she was at it, she changed out of her night gown into a white sundress that went a bit below her knees. Elise wasn't one to wear dresses that were above the knees.. she felt too weary about it honestly. Afterwards, she looked at herself in the mirror, giving out another sigh. This was her mothers dress.

Quite frankly, she didn't even know why she kept it for all these years. She did really like it, though.

Elise walked back through her house and picked a book from one of her shelves. On the front of the book was labeled 'A Land Remembered', a book that she was about halfway done with. She used a pressed flower to keep her place in the book, because well, she's Elise, which is probably a pretty good explanation at this point.

Was she really gonna go out, though? There still is quite a while until the fireworks...which is still something Elise was debating on whether or not to go to, just so she wouldn't feel weird being around pairs of people. But it would probably be good for her to go outside for a bit, sit on a bench, read her book, do whatever instead of just staying inside all day. After thinking for a few minutes, Elise kept her book in one hand and headed for the door. She slipped on a pair of shoes and then found herself facing a good amount of sun and people casually strolling along. She stood there for a moment. She was always having second feelings going on inside her, but ignoring it, she closed her front door as quietly as possible and looked around. The sun was shining very bright, which felt rather good with the very slight wind that she felt. It made the flowers going completely around her house rustle, and she could see school kids playing in the distance, delighted that they had a day off for the occasion. 'Well, this is good. Yep. This is very nice. Now just start walking.'

When Elise was just starting a good walk though, she could hear a knocking coming from nearby. Turning her head to the noise, she saw a familiar girl waiting rather impatiently at Serena's porch. She smiled a bit when she saw that it was somebody she knew, Charlotte. She only knew Charlotte through Serena, but it was really a good thing she did, because it was another person she felt comfortable around. Clutching her book in one hand and clinging onto her dress with the other, Elise looked back out into Riverside, and then back at Charlotte, who still didn't seem to notice that she was there. 'Come on, Elise, you've barely stepped foot off of your darn porch, just go!' She tried to encourage herself forcefully in her mind, which didn't even help that much. But she finally began to walk off of her porch and onto the street. Again, she turned to look over at Charlotte. Maybe it would be nice to say hi to her, even though she looked pretty anxious to talk to Serena, and not her.

'Just do it, Elise' She chimed on again in her head and gave off her usual, yet quiet, sigh. Walking over to Serena's porch, she approached her friend, trying to to make too much noise with each step. She lightly tapped Charlotte by her shoulder, then retracted her hand to hold her book with both arms.

''Hi Charlotte.'' That's all Elise managed to say at first, but she forced herself to talk some more to try and make conversation. ''Are you okay? You seem to be looking for Serena urgently.'' She tried not to speak too quiet. It was only Charlotte, after all. She felt comfortable around her.

    Questionable Prophet

Alfie was very unique when she was a child. It all started, though, when her father was at his job. Her father, John O'Riley, was a very successful business man who was the owner of a big fabric company known all around Edinburgh. His wife -Alfie's mother - was a beautiful maiden with long, pink hair and pink eyes. Her name was Sandra, and was in her eighth month of pregnancy. Her father was at a typical, and boring, day at work, doing alot of paperwork and making sales to a lot of clothing companies. The paper he was doing was very stressful, and he wasn't fond of it at all. His back was hurting, and he had a serious expression in his face. His handwriting was terrible, gripping his quill tightly, dabbing the tip in a bottle of ink every now and then. A high-classed worker came in wearing the finest pantaloons, cravat, and tailcoat. He also had titus hair - a popular hairstyle for men at the time. But the beaver top hat he had on hid most of it. John wore almost the same - but from a different clothing company that he trusted. ''Yes?'' He asked, looking at the worker with his hand still gripped to the quill. ''I am very sorry to interrupt your duties, sir. But you are needed in a meeting.'' The worker replied. John nodded, and got up, walking out of the room formally. It sounded big, he might as well see what it was for. About two hours into the meeting, a different worker, one of a lower class who creates the fabric, came into the scene. Everyone sitting around the wooden desk in wooden chairs looked at him. ''I'm very sorry to bother. Mr. O'Riley, I've come to inform you that you're wife is undergoing labor!'' John's eyes grew wide. He was shocked, and didn't expect it to be just like that. He got up, not saying a word to anybody, and rushed out of the building. As soon as he walked out, he quickly ran. Ran all the way home.

Once John had arrived, he walked upstairs and to a room with the door closed. He knocked, but the doctor he hired told him to please wait patiently outside. He sighed, and waited. Waited for hours, until finally the doctor stepped outside of the room. He looked at John with a smile, and let him in. There Sandra was, holding a newborn baby, laying in bed with her dress. She was covered under a sheet from the waist down. She looked at John, and smiled. He approached and looked at the baby. ''Alfie.'' His wife spoke, but he looked at her with a confused expression on his face. ''Alfreida. Alfie for short. She's a girl, John.'' John thought it was a beautiful name. 'Alfie?'' He said, and decided to gently pick the baby up into his arms. ''Alfie..'' John had big plans for this baby. Very big plans. That's all he was actually thinking about, though. Her bright future that he really wanted her to have. '' She needs..and will...have a big, adventurous, happy, sad, frightening...and good future, no matter what.'' He finished, craddling the baby girl carefully in his hands. His wife smiled at Alfie. She began to think about the 'adventure' part. All she has done in her life is do house work... that is what a usual wife would do, while her husband was at work... where he practically lived. She wanted more to life than just.. house chores every day. What kind of life is that? Going to work..it would also be the same thing every day. She snapped out of it at once. Her husband was practically yelling at her to snap out of her day dreams. ''I'm sorry.'' He immediately said. He was over-protective. Sandra had a blank expression on her face, and her grip was tight on the blanket she was under from the waist down. The doctor was even startled a bit when he had yelled. After that, he figured that it was time to pack up and get his money. John gently put the baby back in his wife's arms. ''May I get my pay, sir?'' The doctor asked John. He nodded, and walked out of the room with the doctor to pay him. His wife looked down at Alfie, and began to speak. ''I will say this now, Alfie. There will be tough times in life...but you just have to be tougher about it.''

Alfie's mother's life was now harder, since there was new company in the big house. She already had to clean the house, but now she also had to take care of Alfie while her husband was at work. It was a lot to handle, and sometimes she didn't even clean the house. Alfie was constantly crying her small heart out, wanting more and more each time her mother gave her something. It was a pain to be taking care of all this. It was torture in her perspective, pure torture. She barely even got out of the house, only to buy food. Her husband wasn't having much fun at his job, either. Every single day, more and more paper work to do. The only time he wasn't doing paperwork was when he's at meeting or he is making sales to other companies. He already got his first white hair, which wasn't a good sign. He didn't want to have any vacation, though, not at all. Most people, especially the lower-class of Edinburgh pictured their lives to be spectacular in every way possible. They don't understand, though, all of the weight they had to face every day.

Finally, Sandra decided to get out of the house. She got a baby carriage for Alfie who was now a year and a half old. She was growing pink hair, and her eyes were a stunning hot pink. She was even dressed in a high-classed small dress, with diapers under it. Her mother put Alfie into the baby carriage and casually walked out of the house, leaving her house duties to be left alone. She walked down the road and walked around a bit, finally coming up to a dock. She walked down the wooden dock and looked out to the sea. It was a very nice sight, watching as the small waves drifted about aimlessly. Sometimes she wished to be like the waves. No priorities but to just be as it is. And that's when she looked out as far as she could, sighting a boat. No, it wasn't a boat. It was in fact a big, wooden ship. She's never seen that boat around, how could she have missed it, though? But as she looked closer and closer, she could finally tell what it was. A pirate ship. A big pirate ship with a giant X across its sail. She wasn't frightened about it at all. She was fascinated, and curious about it. She wondered what it was like to be a pirate. Being a thief must come with a lot of adventures. Sandra has heard about the Pirate X, before. How they were never once caught in the act of stealing. Were they really that good at what they did? She looked down at Alfie. ''You might grow up to think your life to be wonderful, but just wait as you age, and age.'' She said, and looked back up. Then, she looked at the sky, almost looking at the sun but not directly. ''Hm..'' She thought. The sun is beginning to go down. Her husband will be back very soon. This made her panic. She turned the carriage around, got off the dock, and speed-walked all the way back home. It was too late, though, John was already home. When she entered the house, John came up to her. ''Where were you?? I was worried!!'' He snapped. She looked at him. ''I was out for a walk. I got tired of always doing the same thing, I wanted a change.'' She replied. John sighed and shook his head. He walked away from the scene. ''Hello, John.'' She called out, but didn't get an answer. She thought it would be nice to have a nice hello, but apparently she couldn't even get that. The house still had chores to do. She didn't care anymore, and put Alfie to bed. ''There will be tough times in life, but you just have to be tougher about it.''

By the time Alfie was four years old, she was a very active little child. They always dressed her in formal, high-classed dresses and gave her almost everything she wanted. She loved being spoiled like this. She constantly played with her huge collection of dolls, and loved to play dress up with all her clothes. Her mother smiled while she played around with all of her stuff. Her hair had already grown down to her waist, and her eyes as stunning as ever. Her mother's eyes wasn't as stunning, so Alfie probably got that trait from her dads side. Her mother would usually take her out for walks over to the dock. She's been doing so ever since she saw that Pirate X boat when Alfie was 18 months old. She enjoyed taking walks with her mother, and would sometimes stop to play with the lower-class kids her age. ''Come, Alfie! We're going for a walk before your father comes home.'' She called out to the small girl. Alfie came running down the stairs almost instantly. Usually where her big smile was, was a semi-frown. ''Is papa gonna start yelling again??'' She asked. Her mother frowned. These days, her and her husband have been having fights. Sometimes for no reason, too. It wasn't a good influence for Alfie. ''I promise he won't today.'' She answered. Alfie's smile came back. She picked up her favorite doll and walked out the door holding her mother's hand. They walked by stores looking at all the items they had, and gave out some money to the poor children. Their last stop was in fact the dock. Alfie's mother has been hoping to see the beauty of the Pirate X ship again. They both stared out into the ocean. ''Mama, look!'' Alfie called out pointing at a ship. Her mother smiled. It was the Pirate X ship. ''Every day I grow more curious about that ship. Have you ever wanted to be like a pirate, Alfie?'' She asked her daughter. ''Whats its like, mama?'' Alfie replied with another question. Sandra didn't really know what to answer. She opened her mouth but was interrupted by stomps on the wooden dock coming from behind.

The two of them turned around and there John was, looking mad. ''Sandra, I do not like how you always run off like this. And with our daughter, too? What is this??!'' He yelled. Alfie hid behind her mother, frightened. ''It's okay, John! You think I would let anything happen to her?!? Our lives have not been good, I want to go to places!'' She yelled back at her husband. Of course, he grew more furious. ''Why don't you just run off, then!?!? You might as well.'' Sandra didn't really know what to say. ''..Maybe I will. Maybe we all should. We can become more than what we are now. We can actually have adventure in our lives. Maybe we can become..pirates.'' She finally spoke. John was speechless. Pirates? Has this lady gone mad?? He didn't mean to tell her to run off. If she ever ran off..he would force the police to look for her.. find her...even shoot her down. Instead of saying anything, he slapped her. Slapped her as hard as he could. Sandra fell down to the ground. Alfie screamed. ''Mama!!'' She cried. John didn't care. He walked off. ''Mama..'' Alfie called and went in front of her. ''Mama?'' Sandra looked at Alfie. ''I will escape, some how...'' She whispered. Alfie's had an expression of confusion, like when her father had a confused expression when she was first born. ''I'm okay, hun.'' Her mother then said. She got up, still holding the half of her face that got slapped by her husband. She took Alfie's hand, who still had tears running down her small face, and walked home. When they arrived, and when they both walked into the family room, there John was, and he wasn't alone. He was talking to a policeman, but was interrupted when they came in. The man found it to be a not-so-good time to be talking, and looked at Sandra. ''I should be off now. Good day, sir.'' He said, and walked out of the house, and into a steam-powered car. Sandra didn't say a word and walked off to put Alfie to bed.

Alfie is now six years old. Not a lot has changed though. Her parents still fight constantly. It frightens her every time they do. She always hides in her room and even hears banging on the dinner table. She still plays with all of her dolls, but hasn't been asking for more because shes fine with the ones she has. The only thing that really changed is how her mother has been wearing clothes. They aren't so formal anymore, and they look more like..pirate clothes. Her dresses don't go down to her feet anymore. They go down to her knees. Alfie likes it, though. Its fun to be dressing different and she would even put it on herself. Of course, its way bigger than her size so she laughs every time she does. Alfie was playing with her dolls. She was kind of scared of that day because her father decided to have a day off of work. It was a huge change, suddenly. Perhaps he wanted to see what his wife does. It was towards the evening now, they haven't really yelled at each other, but Alfie still feels scared inside. ''Alfie, time to go for a walk.'' Her mother called out. But as soon as both of them were about to walk out the door, John quickly stopped them. ''Your not going anywhere today.'' He said in a menacing voice. Sandra stared at him for a moment, but didn't argue and put her things down. She still held Alfie's hand and went upstairs with her, into her and her husbands room. She put Alfie on the bed and began to pack her things. As she packed, Alfie watched. She even saw a small dagger being put into her bag. After that it was a couple pairs of clothes. Once everything was packed, she picked up Alfie, silently went downstairs, and walked out a back door. But it was too late. John had heard them, he had known. Quickly, he went over to the police station and yelled at them to get her. A group of them ran out with swords, towards Alfie and her mother who were walking. ''Mama!!!'' She yelled and pointed at the police-men. When Sandra noticed, she ran. Ran as fast as she could, then hid in a couple of trees. ''I can't take you, Alfie..'' She said to her and put her down. ''I want you to go back home. Get an education. Live your life. I promise I will come back for you. Just be tougher about tough times.'' She hugged Alfie, kissed her on the forehead, put a pendant on her neck, and ran off. Alfie bursted into tears. She got up and ran towards her mother, out onto the pavement, but she was already too far away. She cried hard, then heard the cops coming behind her, waving their swords carelessly. She stood where she was. ''Tough.'' She whispered to herself. The cops ran by, and everything flashed. She felt a sharp pain on her right cheek, and began to bleed. One of those darn cops were so careless they swiped their sword right on Alfie's cheek.

As Alfie grew older, she dread being with her mother. She missed her every day of her life. They had never gotten to her. The cops never got her. She was out free. And Alfie knew exactly what she did. She became a Pirate X. She figured it out. The cheek that was slashed deep into left a big scar. She thought of it as something to remember her mother with. Every since her mother left, Alfie's father was never the same. Almost all of his scalp grew white hairs, and he constantly yelled at Alfie. She never yelled back. She had enough of yelling. Alfie did what her mother told her to do. She decided to go to school and do her best to get a good education. But she hated doing it. She started to think more and more about what her mother did. How she escaped her life, and left everything. She even left her own daughter, but she only did it because she loved her, and Alfie can't argue with that, not like she ever does. She made a couple of friends at school, but they weren't 'good' friends. They were just people she talked to, nothing more than that. Her dad always walked her to and from school..every single time in pure silence. Her collection of dolls were still in her room..but untouched. She was the one who made dinner for her and her father. Every single time she cooked she learned and more and she got pretty good at it. 'Why not be a cook on a pirate ship?' She once thought. But that was to boring for Alfie. She wanted more than that. She wanted to join the Pirate X and be with her mother again. She is just certain she is still there. If she got away, there's no way she could have failed. Soon, Alfie was twenty years old, and was training to work at the fabric factory, the business her father owns. One day, when she got up, she decided that day would be the day. The day to leave everything. She packed a journal, her mother's pendant, a belt with a bag on it, a dagger, leather gloves, a hat, a map, a journal, and a small telescope. Once those were in there, she did the same as her mother and packed the clothes on top of all of it. All were pirate clothes, but she also took three dresses that used to be her mothers. Once everything was packed, she went out the back down, and took a different route to the dock. Through a forest, where it would be harder to get to her. Luckily, her dad didn't notice her leave this time. Pirate X was docked at Edinburgh. She already spoke with them once - they were going to take her in. Quickly, she went to the dock and spoke with the people. ''Do you have somebody named Sandra O'Riley?'' She asked. They looked at each other, confused. ''Never heard of that name.'' Alfie's heart sank. She never joined Pirate X. Alfie now had no hopes of being reunited with her mother. But that didn't stop her. She joined the Pirate X, and worked her way up. And Alfie was soon the First Mate, a pure member of the Pirate X.
