It is believed the Guardian Tree saved the world once…

Long, long ago, a decay set over the lush land of Ileon. It started with the plants, crystalizing the wood and leaves. The ground splintered, suddenly fragile. Then it spread to the animals and other living creatures. The animals that were infected would glisten with the decay. Large crystals protruding from the skin, highly infectious, and deadly. Wild animals, livestock, pets, even insects, fell prey to the mysterious plague. Until finally it turned onto the more sentient of beings. The Beastmen and the Dragons were the first to be affected, being closer to animal kind than the rest. But the decay took a different turn with these races. Instead of death, they turned into grotesque creatures, completely lost to themselves. The mindless beast terrorized the people they once called kin and spread the infection further and faster than ever before.

Until finally it seemed all was lost.

Amidst this calamity, the few survivors huddled in hidden locations across Ileon. Amongst the survivors were two lovers. Despite the tragedies surrounding them, their love flourished. For what was life if one could find no happiness? Determined to make the most of what would likely be a short life, the lovers planted a sapling together in hopes their love would stand strong one day in the far future. They cared for this sapling with as much love as they cared for each other, pouring their hopes, their dreams, and their very essence into the sapling.

But they too fell to the plague.

Knowing they would turn into monsters, the lovers returned to the sapling-no-more for the last time. Born of love, the tree was their only child. Unable to bear the thought of turning into a creature of destruction, the lovers took their own lives before the tree. Their life’s blood flowed into the very roots of the tree imbuing it with their final thoughts and feelings. Unbeknownst to the lovers, they had provided the world with its greatest gift. A guardian to keep them safe.

From the sacrifice of the pure-hearted, the tree expanded its reach. It grew tall and thick, towering in the cave. Suddenly, the roots began to soak in the plague as it grew, the crystals embedding themselves into the tree. The bodies of the lovers were also taken in by the tree. Protection fell upon the land of Ileon, the plague eradicated. The monsters were exiled beyond the Krillandis Spine into the beyond. Creatures were purified, returned to their normal states if possible. And henceforth the tree was given the name…

The Guardian Tree.

The legend of the Guardian Tree is just that, a legend. No one really believes that it was a magical tree, though the Guardian Tree still stands now, 600 years later. Ileon had split into four nations with their own cultures and their own people. The people have grown apart, no longer holding any truth to their ancestor’s incredible stories of the mysterious plague. Heeding no warnings from the wise, the kingdoms began to stress their relations with one another. Disputes were arising from every possible corner. At first they started small and insignificantly in back rooms and quiet halls.

Alas, the breaking point was reached. The countries went to war. Friends were turned into foes. The royal children whom were once raised in a fragile peace were thrust into the arms of battle. The kingdom’s utter disregard for the land and its people became prevalent.

For years the wars went on, making bitter enemies of them all. No one could remember a time when they actually got along anymore. One day an apparition appeared before the kings, the spirit of the Guardian Tree. She demanded peace at once. But she was denied, the kings too deep in their folly to pay any mind to a spirit. At the peak of the great wars the plague returned. The Guardian tree had rescinded her protection from Ileon. The Royals had spurned her and she felt they had no right to be protected any longer. Not that she could even if she wanted to.

The Guardian tree drew back her protection to Tethes, for that was all she could protect now. The others could fend for themselves.

With their people and soldiers falling to the plague, the countries called a cease fire. Desperate to understand what was happening, they commanded scholars to research the plague. Unfortunately for them, the legend held true. So the kings and queens gathered around the Guardian tree in Tethes, begging for her protection once more. But the tree could not, would not, extend her love to them freely anymore. She demanded they prove to her they were willing to do anything for peace. They were to find a solution for their differences.

And so the royals agreed to have their children marry. In a generation’s time they would be joined in blood.

The T.O.S should be followed. Gaia is great fro roleplying but if you break the T.O.S then you will be warned. I will only warn you so many times before finally kicking you out. Please don't make me kick you out. I would rather not be banned for your misconduct either so please, just follow the rules. It won't kill you, I promise.

Characters

This is probably the most important part of the rules so read this carefully please. I don't like perfect. I hate stereotypical characters. Please make them as unique as humanly possible. Please try to keep within the guidelines of the race as well. If your character is an elf, please don't make them have round ears and short like a Dwarf. The information section will give you plenty to work with. if you aren't sure about something, ask. Oh! And Face Claims! They have to be ANIME. The higher the quality the better. Try not to find someone that is overused like Ichigo or something. And try to make them as close to the racial appearance as possible. i will allow some oddballs though.

Literacy && Dedication

This will be a Lazy Lit RP. I don't mind short posts from time to time but ABSOLUTELY NO ONE-LINERS. In fact, it's not hard to write two paragraphs. Just don't write me two paragraphs about a character tying their shoe. Post at least once a week if you can. I'm pretty lenient on this because i know people have lives. i have a very busy one myself. If you want to quit, tell me. Communication is key.

Respect

Be respectful. If your characters hate someone, you don't have to hate the writer behind the character. Play nice and include everyone. I would hate to see someone getting ignored on purpose in here. It hurts and just inappropriate.

Princes/Princesses
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
All of the princes and princesses are old enough to have either fought in the war or at least experienced it. Not every prince or princess was expected to serve their country as a soldier of some sort but that is your choice. The royals of the kingdoms view each other as enemies. Or at least they were raised to after the fragile peace was destroyed utterly. Some of the princes and princess may have met as children and perhaps some of those past friendships have held strong. Or maybe they mean nothing. Doubtless, some are unhappy to fraternize with an enemy. They all have their own abilities and their own weaknesses. Be unique ;D

Guardian Tree

The Guardian Tree has stood for over 600 years. As the legend suggests, the Guardian tree was planted by lovers determined to see the best in life. The Tree was fueled by their love for each other, it, and life as a whole. The Guardian Tree is sentient in a sense. Its long life filled with magic has given it an intelligence and it has chosen to take the form of a female. She is the reason the land had been protected from the plague. And she is the reason it has returned. For what is the point of protecting those that wish nothing but death upon one another? Or perhaps she is losing her strength? Either way she is the host of our Royals.

Czericht && Icarii
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
Known as people of the wing. These creatures live to be several hundred years old. They are humanoid creatures whose only quality that is different than a human’s in appearance are their wings. They can fly of course. The Icarii are generally vain, selfish, and beautiful. They can spend hours preening themselves in the sun. They enjoy activities that are best suited for flight and speed. Despite the bad qualities, the Icarii have their strong points as well. They are fiercely protective and highly sophisticated. They can have heated arguments and never raise their voice above a whisper. They cherish freedom and children above all else. Because it is difficult for these creatures to have children, any sort of assault or abuse of a child is unheard of here. And any that dare are severely punished for even just the thought.

Czericht is the Northern nation. The land has cool summers and harsh winters. Most of the land is open plains filled with elk and deer. Czericht has a variety of crops that grow in the colder regions, vegetables and fruits. The Icarii diet doesn’t normally include meat but they have been known to eat it from time to time. Their elite fighting force are Valkyrie—female warriors. The men are significantly skilled as well. The Valkyrie specialize in spear-based weapons while the men specialize in axes and hammers, occasionally the halberd or spear.

Elrit && Dragons
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
Dragons are ancient reptiles that have existed for countless years. They age slowly and live longer than most of the other races. They can live to be well over 100,000 years. At least that was the case before the plague. Now it depends entirely upon the years they spend in their true form. The Dragons can acquire a human form upon the consumption of human blood, even if only a drop. Sometimes they retain qualities from their dragon form such as scales or horns. They age quicker in this form and die a natural death after several hundred years. The people as a general sense are quick to anger but also very quick to forgive. They never forget but tend to move on after a while. They are strong in body and mind, for it is strength they value most in their society. Their children are not delicate wallflowers to be watched. Every child is expected to learn how to defend themselves. Their diets consist mostly of meat. Their human hair reflects the color of their scales. And their scales can be any color.

Elrit is the Eastern nation and contains the Krillandis spine as part of their borders. Half of the nation is desert while the rest is a vast flat plateau. The winters are warm and the summers hot. Rain is not very common here so water is a precious commodity. Many types of animals roam through the plateau during various seasons. They mostly grow crops and fruits that can survive harsh heat. The people are a militaristic barbarous type. They work and play hard. The elite soldiers of this nation are knights. Knights can be either male or female, gender holds no role here. The soldiers specialize in swords and maces, the knights specialize in gauntlets, swords, and lances. Occasionally they will branch out to other types of weapons as well.

Xinshui && Beastmen
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
Beastmen are animal people. They share the traits of animals depending on the type of animal they are and their abilities also derive from the type. Most Beastmen are wolves or large cats, occasional a serpent or avian creature of some sort. They will often have the ears and tail of the animal they are apart of, claws and sharper canines. Their abilities can include, but are not limited to, partial transformation, increased strength, increased agility, or increased senses in general. These are a very diverse people but are generally protective of their own more so than strangers. In fact, they can be very aggressive towards strangers. They believe in ‘live and let live’ as long as it does not directly affect them and theirs. Their lifespan is completely unknown to outsiders. Supposedly they live just as long as the Icarii though. Eyes and hair color are as diverse as the animals. Their diets are primarily fish and other meats along with rice. And strangely enough, monogamy isn’t a normal thing here. The king has three wives.

Xinshui is a mix between forest and plains. They have many port towns and farms. The climate is tropical in the south and subtropical as it heads north. The main plants they grow are rice and wheat, maybe some form of vegetables as well though they do not eat it very often. They do not have an elite force. Everyone knows how to defend themselves but they do not intentionally seek to bolster their military might. They specialize in mostly katanas, scythes, and sickle & chains.

Gladerius && Elves
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
The elves are not short like they would have most believe. These mysterious creatures are relatively fair skinned and can be very tall. They have a relatively small frame and their hair and eye colors range from the darkest of blacks to the brightest of blondes. Their lifespan is in the thousands. But no one can know for sure since they are so rarely seen outside of their homeland. The Elves so enjoy their secrets and can be very high-stung. They hold themselves high above others, and can be seen as arrogant from the outside. They are one with nature, relishing in its beauty. They are people of the wood. Knowledge is a pursuit of these people as well. Ignorance just isn’t tolerated and they can be offended rather easily. Personal space is sacred to them as a general. But there have been known to be the occasional oddball. What a strange shaman-like people they are. Long pointed ears are a tell tale trait of the elves.

Gladerius is a lush land to the south. They have a tropical climate and house the land’s thickest and healthiest forests. They are also home to the infamous forest of death—Emrys forest. They grow fruits and vegetables that strive in hotter and wetter climates. Most of the people eat vegetation as their main diet but animals are also killed from time to time. Most of the time it is a smaller animal like rabbits and squirrels. The Elite soldiers of this land are Druids and songstresses. Well versed in magic, these people can not only revitalize their home but also use their magic for offense. Their magic is mostly through song. As for weapons, they tend to favor bows and arrows.

Setting/Time period
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
This is fantasy medieval. No cars, no planes, no electricity. The only exception to that is indoor plumbing. They have showers and baths that are powered by mana crystals (crystals made out of pure magic). But mana crystals are hard to make so they are not widely used for a lot of things. Mostly only the rich and powerful. Main source of transportation is horseback and boats.

The War
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
This war lasted about 10 years or so. It has only just recently come to a close and many lives were lost to it. The landscape is still freshly scared in some places while others were left untouched. None of the capitol cities were ever reached thanks to each country having successfully defended their borders for the most part.

Clothing
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
Anything. Literally. Well, almost. I don’t want to see anyone in modern clothes because that is not part of the setting. But they can wear tribal, medieval Europe, Asian, or whatever fantasy type you can think of. Pretty lenient on this. No specific nation has a specific way of dress. They just wear what they like.

The Plague
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
It is back. Already the weaker areas of the land are suffering from the plague. It has not yet started to affect the animals and the sentient beings but it won’t be long before it starts to. Do try not to get infected. Oh, and monsters have been creeping in from the Krillandis Spine as well.

Manor

This is the beautiful manor located in Tethes that the Guardian Tree is allowing the royal children to inhabit in order to get to know one another.It has a large communal kitchen that will be fully staffed, a large luxurious garden for the royals to explore, a pond for recreational swimming on the property, a dining hall, spacious lounge room, ball room for training or parties,and six bedrooms. The staff will make their stay as easy as possible.


Town

The royals are free to go to town for recreational purposes. Of course a guard or servant will escort them through the town from a safe private distance. We wouldn't want them thinking they can just run off now can we? The town has a park, several festivals throughout the year, stores for shopping, and a shrine. The citizens of this town are from all over Ileon.


General Store

There are plenty of stores in town but the general store is the only one that provides goods from every country. If you are looking to buy something specific they can obtain it for you. Special requests are always welcome, they have a forge int he back for all your needs.


Guardian Tree

In a cave not too far from the manor, you can visit the Guardian Tree.she always like company and would be happy to answer any questions asked if she knows the answer. sometimes its just good to go see the reason your land was saved in the first place. she's quite the beautiful sight and a popular spot for dates when it comes to the locals.

King Feifeol and his three wives, Queens Glafa, Brollio, and Lithelia. All four of them have fought in the war. Feifeol is quiet, Glafa is outgoing, Brollio is quick-tempered, and Lithelia is fickle.

Cinder the Butler and Iris the Maid. Cinder is very polite and the main one that will be speaking with the royals. Iris is socially awkward and hates royalty above all else.She goes out of her way to avoid the royals.

This is the day they should be arriving at the Tethes Manor. They have said their goodbyes and are heading into a new life. Of course they aren't expected to marry immediately. The Butler will greet them in the main hall of the manor and tell them everything they need to know, including the rules.

December 21st - First day of Winter gathering in town (a small event to welcome winter)
December 25th - Winter Party (their version of Christmas)
December 31st - New Year's Eve Banquet
January 1st - New years day
January 3rd - Engagement Ceremony
February 14th - Expected Wedding Date (could be push forward or back)
