▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Welcome To My World......

Vincent laughed with her. "Who's exaggerating?" He joked. "I know what a pregnant woman looks like, which by the way, is why I'm not getting all weird on you, and acts like" He said, smiling. Vincent nodded and murmured in sympathy. "And you're right too. Zack's lucky to have a friend who cares so much, and if he want's to talk. I'm sure he'll tell you what's up." He thought for a moment. "I'm sure he wont run off this time. I mean, he has you to take care of now. Although, if that does happen, you're more than welcome to come to us for anything you need. But I'm sure he won't leave you, at least not when you're pregnant." He said softly.

Vincent smiled. "Oh I know. Just remember, you're not the only one who's worrying. He's probably worrying about you right now. Besides." He continued. "You're talking to his best friend. We're all worried about losing him, but we can't make him stop doing something he wants to do. We've all learned that the hard way at some point. I can't imagine losing him either. I can't imagine what it would be like without a father. Whatever happens, your kid, whether boy or girl, won't grow up in vain. He, or she, won't grow up without people who love him...... or her" He said, pausing again. "If anything, I can step in. If you ever need a break, to go hang out with some of your friends. Feel free to drop your child off at our house. I can babysit." Vincent chuckled then. "And... It's free!"

....... ((after he speaks of his father)) .........

Vincent nodded solemnly. He had forgotten about her life. She had had it pretty rough too. It was just, his father, never really understood him. He never got to hang out with him, just father and son. His father was always out, working. Vincent would look at the kids, with their fathers, and he would feel sad, lonely, and well, at times, worthless. He hated his father for making him feel like that. And, as a result of that among other things. Him and his father were never close. It felt like he was always trying to fix the young man. Trying to tell him who he could and couldn't be friends with, fortunately his father approved of Landyn. Who he could or could not date. That one, he didn't approve of so much. It just aggravated him.

He let out a sigh as she spoke. "Lo so ...." And he knew it too, as long as he had a good wife, and his friends around him. Then he would make a decent father, so that excuse wouldn't always work, and he knew that. He would need to come up with a better one.

Vincent's hand immediately went out to steady Scarlett. "Take it eas--- Are those heels?!" He began softly, only to break off in exclamation. She should have known better. "Okay, I know those shoes accent your dress perfectly, but really? Sacrifice yourself for fashion?" Vincent shrugged and put his arm around her as he led her to a spot where she could sit down. "Now relax Scarlett. Take it easy. Deep breaths. You'll be fine" He said in a soothing voice. Really, to anyone who was watching, the would probably think he was a father, just because he knew what to say, and how to say it. Course, the only child he helped with, was his little sister. His father never seemed to be there for his mother either. Vincent had always been the one to calm his mother down. When she was feeling sick, he would take care of her. He sighed and looked back to Scarlett. "You'll be fine..." He repeated softly, taking a seat beside her.

Welcome To My World......

Vincent just sat there with one arm around Scarlett, occasionally telling her it would be alright. To keep him from rambling on and on to avoid the silence, he once more scanned the room. He wondered who else he could catch up with. It was all fine and dandy to talk with Scarlett, but he really should talk with some of his high schoolmates, to just, say hey, if nothing else. Vincent let out a sigh as he saw Skyler's eyes rest on him for a brief second. Probably really good friends with Abigail. He concluded with a shake of his head. His heart kept asking him, when he would get up the courage to talk with her and apologize, but, of course, his brain always pretended not to hear what his heart was saying, and, for the most part, it worked. He managed to push it out of his mind.

He tilted his head slightly when he caught sight of Jonah, he was drinking now? Vincent shook his head, he hadn't been close with him, in fact, he barely knew the guy. He just happened to know his name, well, he always made sure he knew everyone's name. In case he saw them in need of some cheering up. Which, he never did, but all the memorizing names had helped his memory improve, now, he didn't have much trouble remembering things.

To say Vincent was relieved when Zack showed up, was a little bit of an understatement. "Ehi...." He said briefly. "Um.... I'm not quite sure how she's doing..." Vincent looked to Scarlett. "Though I hope you're alright." He turned his brown eyes back to Zack. "She just said she needed a seat." Vincent scooted over, gently pulling Scarlett to him so there was room on the other side of her. "You're welcome to join us though." He said, looking at Zack.

Welcome To My World......

Vincent just leaned back and sighed. Ahh, the 'please don't say anything so and so's gonna be mad' thing. He had heard it from his sister all the time. Vincent smiled and shrugged. "Alright Alright. I won't say a word. My lips are sealed." He said, making the motion of zipping his lips. Vincent tossed her a smile, nodding. He wasn't going to make a scene, he was used to not making a scene. He was usually the one to stop his parents from making a scene in a restaurant they were in. Vincent gently squeezed her in a hug. "And you're doing a great, you've given up a bit for this kid. Just.... don't wear heels unless you absolutely have to, the last thing I want is for you to fall and hurt yourself." He paused. "This kid better appreciate you." Vincent joked softly.

Vincent sighed, her little spiel not really making him relax. Just surprised her? He shook his head and looked at her, doubt showing in his eyes. Could the baby really kick that much? He shrugged and put his attention back on her as she continued to talk.

He looked down sheepishly. Who could blame him for being worried? This woman was his best friends wife. Though, who could blame Zack for worrying either? He was a close friend of hers. So, all in all, who could blame either of them for being worried. Scarlett clearly meant something to both of them. He smiled at her, "Alright. I'm sorry. Although, I think you're right about that kick." He chuckled. "Can't blame him for wanting to party. I almost want to liven up the night." Vincent stood up. "I'll let you two talk.... or whatever." He looked at Scarlett, briefly wondering if she wanted to see if Zack was okay. "I'll take you up on that offer and go get myself a drink...." Vincent smiled weakly. Anyone who knew him, like really knew him. Would know that Vincent like, never drank. Only wine on special occasions. And only then, a little bit, and not always. "If you need anything. If something happens. Please, let me know. If there's absolutely anything I can do to help. To make it easier for you. Pick something up for you guys, whatever. Let me know. I'll be happy to help." Vincent said sweetly. "And Zack, nice seeing you again." He said briefly before walking off to the drink bar.

Vincent tossed a smile to the girl behind the counter. "Spirit" The girl raised an eyebrow, but did as he asked. He nodded his thanks when she handed it to him and moved to the wall. Leaning against it, he took a small sip. He had figured that Scarlett might want to make sure her friend was okay, so he left so they could talk. But now, he had no clue who to talk to. He most likely was going to say nothing to Abigail unless she spoke with him. So, he resorted to looking around and taking small sips from his drink.

Welcome To My World......

Vincent sipped from his spirit and pondered on ways to build up the confidence to walk over to Abigail. Really, how hard could it be? Apparently very hard. He thought to himself. The young man continued to casually sip from his drink as he desperately looked around for someone to mingle with.Though, to his dismay and frustration, his attention, and eyes, kept drifting back to a certain someone. To say it happened every couple seconds, was an understatement. Dammit. He thought in frustration, he just could not get her off his mind. He had been doing quite a good job at it, when he hadn't been seeing her face almost every time he looked around, but of course, not seeing her, not being in the same room with her, made it easier to keep his mind off of her. When it came down to it, being in the same room, seeing the beautiful girl he fell in love with, he just couldn't forget it. "Just get over it. Get over your nerves... Go over. Say an awkward 'hey, how you been doing?'.... And then leave. It's that simple." He nodded and, with his spirit in hand, was about to walk over to where she was standing with Max, when his phone rang. He fished his phone out of his pocket. "Ciao?" Vincent answered. "V?" A pause. "You okay?" He almost broke down at the caring voice of his sister. But no, she was clearly dealing with something, and he would not be the one to break first. If she would tell him. Only then would he even consider telling her. "Just fine. Mom still mad at you?" "Yeah..... You don't sound fine." Goodness! She was not going to let it go. With a sigh, he was going to tell his sister, when all of a sudden, an all to familiar body came walking up to him. Oh God. He thought, trying to keep his eyes from widening.

Vincent simply stared at Abigail as she ordered a drink. Unlike him, she didn't mind drinking on more than just special occasions. "Vince?" His sister's voice said in a far off world. He shook his head, and with a weak smile to Abigail, he held up his pointer, meaning, 'hold on'. "Hey Al. Catcha later. I.... I've got an amazing woman to talk to." Okay, that last part just slipped out. Maybe it was the spirit. His body wasn't used to drinking anything but wine... Maybe that was it. yes. He would blame it on the alcohol. Vincent closed his phone and slipped it back into his pocket. "Ehi. Abigail. Long time no---" He broke off at her congratulations. No, no no. That made things eternally worse. She knew. She knew that he was married. Lovely. Just Lovely. "Thanks..." Vincent said without emotion. "That's quite all right... The wedding wasn't that spectacular anyways." He wanted to add, 'not as spectacular as the one I would have thrown for you', but, he didn't. He was smarter than that. Vincent quickly brought his spirit up to his lips and took a longer swig. "Enough about the past..." He managed to get out. "I was just going to come and talk with you. How have you been doing?" Vincent asked nervously, trying hard to appear as confident as the man he was back in high school.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Welcome To My World......

Vincent watched her cheeks change color, and a small smile shoved it's way onto his face, that usually happened. The flush of the cheeks, though the smile is regular too. He found that whenever he would compliment her, she would blush a little bit. Course, he really hoped she would blame his smile on the spirit. His eyes drifted to her wine glass for a moment before going back to her face. Only to have her look back to her glass. Was he that hard to look at? Vincent looked down at his appearance. Did he look that bad? He brought his hand up to fix his suit jacket. He calmly watched her spin her glass. Sure, this could probably be going better, but then, it was better than not doing anything. Vincent let out a sigh, why did he still feel this way? His heart knew the answer, but just about every other part of his body argued, and won, shoving the opinion of his heart away, out of his mind's reach. The young man's face almost faltered as he saw the look of concern that made it's way onto her face, but no, he couldn't. Even after everything, the frustrations that his father had put on him, the time he thought he lost his sister, even after all that, he had never been the one to break. Always the one to make others feel better, never really talking about himself, except to Landyn, and occasionally to Abigail when she could pry it out of him. Vincent almost choked on his drink when she said 'you found the woman of your dreams' He coughed and nodded meekly. "Right." He cleared his throat. "Really. It's not actually that bad....." He assured her. Would she even want to be reassured?

Vincent felt his jaw drop. She quit science? "Devi essere scherzando!" he exclaimed. "You quit physics?! How... W-why?" He stood there, baffled. He just stared at her as she continued. How did he not know this. There had been a time when he knew her inside out, knew almost everything that had happened. The relationship they had had was very honest. There had been almost nothing that they hid from each other. Vincent sighed. "Congress? Well.... Not exactly your dream... But still impressive.." He finally said. "Washington? Cool." He nodded, trying to keep this conversation from having a hiccup. "Well. It's clear that I haven't moved from our humble home." He joked lightly. He joked? Either he was relaxing, or the spirit was taking a tole on him. Vincent felt his eyes widen. Her mother was sick? "I'm sorry G-- Abigail." He said softly, reaching out a hand, then pulling it back. "I feel bad for not knowing... I mean, I've been here pretty much since high school. I haven't left... I could have offered to help out... Course... It's not like your father would appreciate that..." He shook his head, looking back to her with sweet brown eyes. "I'm sorry about your mom.... I wish there was something I could do." Vincent said, momentarily forgetting about the awkward situation they were in.

Eyes watching her carefully, he patiently waited for her to compose herself again. And really, he would need a few moments too, if his mom was ill. Vincent let out a sigh as she asked about him. "Well no... I haven't changed much... Uh let's see..." He paused to think for a moment. "After High School, I went to college. Got a degree in business...." Pause. "Like my father." He added bitterly before continuing. "Became your average run-of-the-mill office worker.... Pays not bad... Besides that, I've still got all that money I had back in school.... Nice car.... Still got a dog... Marri..." He stopped, not quite sure he wanted to go there. Vincent briefly looked around. His wife wasn't here yet. Maybe she needed a ride... Well, she should see the note, so she could call. He turned his face back to Abigail. Course, this was when her question actually sunk in. Had she called him handsome? Vincent smile that sweet smile people knew him for. So he wasn't that hard on the eyes then? He blinked and chuckled at her next question. "Nah.. No kids.... I haven't had the best role model of a father. So I don't know how I would turn out. Besides that, there's this thing with my sister...." Vincent stopped. He hadn't meant to let the part about his sister slip out. "All in all. I don't think I'm ready, nor could I handle it right now." He finished quickly. Nodding to her cup he asked, "The wine any good?"

V's Suit ((Just realized. I had the wrong picture here.))

Green eyes fluttered open as sunlight began to pour through the window. Which was a bit weird, considering how Harry distinctly remembered closing the curtains before going to bed just so this type of wake-up call wouldn't happen. Rubbing at his eyes with the back of his fists, he slowly sat up in his bed and yawned. It was interesting, kind of hard to believe sometimes; how far the five boys had come. In a short while; they had become one of the biggest boy bands in the world. He remembered his first time walking onto the X-Factor stage like it was yesterday. He had performed in front of people prior, but nothing like that. He felt nervous and awkward because that time it actually mattered. The judges knew good music, and if people in the business didn't think he had what it took. Well; then that would kind of set him back a few years on his dream. Because really, doing this. Singing for people. Making music. This was his dream. But never once did he think he would be in another band. In his mind; he would stay in a band with his mates, or he would go it solo. The thought of being in a completely different band, with completely different people had not once crossed his mind... That was until it happened. He never thought he'd get rejected as a solo artist but accepted as a band. Not once did the thought -that he would get into the top three on the show- ever cross his mind. Top three out of all the contestants. And yest, every single one of those things happened. Simon Cowell placed the five boys; who barely knew each other: Harry, Niall, Liam, Zayn and Louis into a band. That same band placed third out of all the contestants. Those same boys were now the best of friends - brothers, if you will. And that same band was now one of the biggest boy bands in the world. They were One Direction, a British-Irish boy band that had girls all over the nation swooning. Those five guys were now singing. Making music. For millions of fans. And he loved every single bit of it! With everything that had happened? He wouldn't have it any other way.

Harry flinched a bit when he heard movement coming from the kitchen, who was up already? With a grunt, the curly haired singer pushed himself out of his bed and scuttled over to the kitchen where he was greeted by a smiling Liam. "'Ello mate." Harry peered closer and then he smelled it. Coffee. Liam was making them coffee. "Morning Lee-yum... What'cha thinkin' about Li?" He asked as he settled himself into a stool that surrounded the island counter. "The X-Factor." Harry nodded and was going to leave it at that, but then Zayn wandered into the room. "What about it?" "You don't know what it's like to audition twice." "Are you going to tell us? Do we get a story time?" Harry asked curiously before watching Liam sit down and stare at the cup in his hands. "You all know what it's like when you get rejected. It's like; you're all of a sudden not good enough. You all know that feeling, because you've been rejected. But somehow... This was worse, well almost. What I felt was worse than what you guys went through. The first time, I honestly thought I had what it took to get past the judges houses. It broke me when he said I wasn't ready and to come back in two years. So I worked really hard. And I came back in two years. And then... to be rejected again... Niall; you think it was the worst feeling for you. But I promise you guys; it was ten times worse for me." "Daddy-Direction" explained. Then he stood up and shook his head. "But enough sadness!" With that, Harry cheered and jumped up; almost spilling his coffee in the process.

"We get to have "guests" on our tour right?" A nod from Liam had him grinning. He knew exactly who he'd invite along. He just hoped she wasn't too busy with her life. "Hey Lou, you should invite that best friend of yours. You haven't seen her in a while. 'd be nice for you two to catch up, yeh?" But he didn't even wait for an answer as he pulled out his phone.

                                    to: lovely
                                    from: Hazza
                                    MSG:

How busy is the next little while looking for ya?

Because really, why wouldn't he invite his girl along? It wasn't like they were going to be all coupley in public. Well... They would, if they were allowed. But they kind of weren't. It had something to do with this, "womanizer" rep Harry seemed to have gotten for himself. Apparently Harry Styles was not to be tied down by a girlfriend. Well ha! He had one anyways.

                                    ʀαӎɪе ɪʟʟɪʏαɴα ʀееd
                                    ʀαӎɪе ɪʟʟɪʏαɴα ʀееd

A small cat was sitting in one of the shelves of Ramie's bookcase just minding her own business when a really excited dog rushed into the room - startling said cat (of course). As the cat jumped; she may or may not have bumped one of the books, and the book might've or might not have fallen out of the shelf... Right onto Ramie. With a gasp of surprise (muffled by the book on her face) she pushed the book off and looked around the room, her eyes landing on a dog and cat sitting at the foot of her bed with the most innocent looks they could muster. "Very funny guys. That is most definitely not how you wake up someone who feeds you." She said sternly, pushing the blanket off of her (and onto the animals). "Ha!" She said triumphantly, receiving a whimper and a hiss in return. Well that's what they got for all but throwing a book at her face. Really, this wasn't facebook.

Moving into the kitchen, she filled the dog bowl and the cat bowl with the proper food before beginning to make her own breakfast. This was how most mornings went for her -well, not the facebook thing but everything else mostly- She had applied for UNI in England because she had heard they had a nice medical program going on. Ramie had done two years in Canada before moving to England. But now she was just playing the waiting game. The place hadn't responded to her yet, but she wasn't discouraged. "One day, I'm going to be a vet... Or maybe a doctor. Both are four years... Well I mean, for a vet I need a masters in Biology first... That's four years right there, so technically it takes eight years to become a vet... Right?" Of course, her pets didn't say anything; just barked and meowed appropriately. Sometimes it seemed like they understood her though.

"Hey, you think I'll run into Louis while I'm here?" She asked as she piked up her cat; Bubbles. Cue the meow. "I mean... He's some sort of big singer now, but he'd still want to hang out with me right?" She set Bubbles down and scratched her dog; Rex behind the ears before heading to the bathroom for a shower. Stripping herself of her pajamas, she stepped under the running water.

Waiting for a response; Harry looked at Lou for a moment as the lad tore off. It would be nice to see; Louis be all happy because he got to see his best friend again. Well, female best friend. Because Harry had filled the other spot since the two had met in the X Factor restroom. A friendship built on something as awkward as meeting by the loo was bound to be strong, so Harry planned on he and Louis staying best friends for a long, long time. Though as his thoughts drifted to that of this friend of Lou's, he wondered briefly if she would want to hang out with Louis now, or if she had changed. He didn't know the girl that well. Never had. Except that she was kind of the opposite of Louis. She was quiet and usually only hung out with Louis, and when they did manage to get her to hang around all of them; she usually stuck close to Lou. Which was fine, but her shyness had him wondering how in the world Louis and her ever became best friend. They were an interesting pair to see, that was for sure.

Then his phone was buzzing and his attention was pulled out of his thoughts and averted to the message on his screen. Because well, it was his girl and he always responded to her texts as quickly as he possibly could. At her response, he raised an eyebrow. He really hoped that the next while wasn't busy for her, because that would put a dent in Harry's plans. A big one.

Harry grinned and pressed send. Leaning against the wall and slowly sliding down; he allowed his brain to go to their first date. He may have gone a bit... Overboard on the romantic cheesiness of the date; but on the bright side she loved it. He had set up a picnic on a bridge. He had candles. The whole shebang. It was great, especially to see the look on her face. After the two had started dating, he remembered going to Louis and thanking him like, a million times for bringing her to the party where they met. At first, Rosie had stuck by Louis' side because he was the one who had invited her and she really didn't seem like she had wanted to be there (so the fact that Louis persuaded her to join him was a feat in it's own -Lou could be quite persuasive- ) But then the more they chatted, the more she seemed to relax and they laughed and joked and it was great.

He figured he wouldn't torture her too much. A little maybe, because he still hadn't told her what he was thinking. He was feeding her curiosity for a bit. What? It was fun and she was his girlfriend; he was allowed to do it. Hey! Maybe Rosie and Lou's friend would get along? They could become friends too. Harry frowned, he hoped they wouldn't despise each other. That would be awful and make things a tad bit difficult then. They would have to work on keeping the two girls apart and happy. That didn't sound like much fun. So for the sake of everyone, he hoped that they would get along.

Some people said a lot of thinking was done whilst a person was in the shower. Then again; most people just laughed at that. Ramie? Yeah she wasn't one of the "most". A lot her her thinking most definitely happened as she stood under the water. And that wasn't always a good thing, because in the shower; there weren't many things to keep the brain distracted so you were forced to endure the thoughts that said brain decided to have. For Ramie that consisted of, why hadn't the UNI responded yet? And a whole bunch of worries that Louis had forgotten all about her. So that day wasn't a good day to be thinking in the shower, because once her thoughts started; they were kind of hard to stop. Especially since she spent a lot of her time in her mind.

                                    "Always like Na Na Na..."

That was her ring tone. And what a time for it to start eh? "Oh crap!" She hissed and turned off the faucet. Wrapping her dripping hair in a towel and wrapping another around herself, she padded around looking for her phone. "Don't hang up. I promise I'm coming." She mumbled as she looked around for the mobile. Ramie always seemed to lose it when she needed it. And ironically enough, even though it was ringing; she still couldn't find it. "Move Rex. Why don't you help me huh?" She shoved her dog out of the way (gently) and continued looking.

                                    "Always like Na Na Na..."

Was that getting louder? Turning her head, she saw Rex holding the edge of her phone between her jaws. Smiling, she took the phone and answered it. "Hello?" She said, a Canadian accent evident. Yeah, she wasn't English. Nope. Born in Canada, lived there for a few years. Moved to England. Moved back to Canada. Anywho; she never really lost her Canadian accent; despite the moving in and out of Canada. It was nice.

As the Cheshire lad waited for a response, he wandered around and poked his head into the room Louis had walked into. Seeing a grin plastered on his best friend's face, he smiled and pulled himself back out. This was going to be great! Lou's best friend would surely say yes. If she said no; he wasn't all too sure with how Louis would take it, so for his sake; he hoped she would say yes. Pausing in his walking, he looked down at himself and chuckled to himself. He hadn't exactly dressed himself for the day; so he decided to take a shower. With a nod, he wandered to his room and gathered an outfit before sauntering over to the bathroom to take the shower that was beginning to sound better and better with each passing minute.

Stepping out of the shower, he took a towel. Once he deemed himself sufficiently dry; he wrapped the towel around his waist and walked over to his room where he had set his clothes. Just as he was pulling his sweater over his head he heard an all to familiar ringtone.

"Give a little time to me or burn this out,"

He smiled, there was only one person on his contact list who had that ringtone.

"We'll play hide and seek to turn this around,"

And now he was going to hear her voice. That same smile still on his face, he picked up his phone.

"All I want is the taste that your lips allow,"

"Hello love." Was his greeting. He loved having certain ringtones for people. That way he never had to ask who it was; just knew it by the ringtone that played whenever they called. Rosie's ringtone was "Give Me Love" by Ed Sheeran. "The mystery of the texts starting to get to ya hmm?" He chuckled and walked around the room. "You still haven't answered my question though. How do feel about traveling?" He repeated his question. It was really a question that didn't actually require her to respond to, because whatever her answer would be -whether she liked traveling or not- he'd ask her if she wanted to go on tour with him. "Harry? Who should I invite?" Liam stuck his head into the room and a look of apology crossed the Wolverhampton lad's face almost right away when he saw Harry on the phone. Shaking his head with a grin, Harry thought for a moment. "How about that Danielle girl? You guys have been dating for a short while, but I think she's really into ya." Liam brightened at that and disappeared about as quickly as he came. "Li is adorable." He chuckled, more to himself than anything before remembering that he was on the phone. Really, how did he manage to forget with a phone pressed to his ear? "So uhm... We've got this tour thing happening soon." Harry began, ruffling his curls a bit before sighing. "We get to tour 'round the United States of America. S'gonna be awesome." He murmured, sitting down on the edge of the bed. "And well, we're allowed to bring one guest. And..." The curly haired singer paused. "I guess I was wondering if you wanted to be my guest?" He asked finally.

                                    ʀαӎɪе ɪʟʟɪʏαɴα ʀееd
                                    ʀαӎɪе ɪʟʟɪʏαɴα ʀееd

'Ello, Rams? There was only one person on the face of the entire world who ever called her that. She stared wide-eyed at Bubbles and Rex, sliding down and sitting on the ground; leaning against the bed with a sigh. "L-Louis?" She asked softly. She really hoped her mind wasn't being cruel to her and that it was actually Louis on the phone. Though it just seemed too good to be true. There she was; thinking about Louis and then all of a sudden he calls? No, that sort of stuff only happened in the movies... Right? Closing her eyes, she gently pet the top of Rex's head as she awaited the person on the other side of the line to say something. Anything. Prove her wrong, or right. Though she really hoped for the later. She didn't realize how much she wanted to hear her old friend's voice until there was a possibility that it was actually him calling. She wanted it to be him; not because she was infatuated with him; but simply because she missed her friend. He was the one person who didn't mind that she was shy. She didn't exactly make friends easily, people usually just shrugged it off; probably thinking she was just some shy girl. But what they missed out on; was that she was actually a really good friend. She knew what she looked for in a friend, and she strived to be that kind of friend for whoever decided to push past it all and get to know her. Louis had done that. He had done what she hadn't expected and pushed past what everyone else was thinking and befriended her.

When he started to ramble, a smile graced her face. Yep, definitely Louis. He loved to talk and on some days; it was really hard for him to shut up. It was pretty funny actually. Though that aside, she was a little bit curious as to why he was calling her. Now of all times. Why did he wait that long? Stuff like that. The reason he gave, was most definitely not the reason she had been expecting. "I was wondering if you'd like to go on a U.S. road trip with me?" Her mouth gaped open and she stared wide-eyes at Rex; who barked happily. "Shh Rex." She cooed softly, scratching his ears. "It won't only be us, the other boys are coming..." She chuckled as he continued to speak. When it seemed like he was finally done speaking, she sighed and was silent for a moment (or two) "A U.S. tour? With you...." She repeated slowly. "And what makes you think I want to spend all that time with ya?" She retorted, though if he was in the room looking at her; he would have seen that she had a playful sparkle in her eyes. "I'm kidding by the way. Never spent much time in the States. It sounds like fun." Ramie giggled and stood up, only then realizing that she was still only in a towel. Rolling her eyes, she adjusted the towel before walking around and looking for something to wear. "So when do I need to be packed by?" Course, all she needed was like; an hour... Max, to pack. She had always been a quick packer.

Holding the phone against her ear with her shoulder, she began to pull out possible things to wear. Soft mutters that consisted of "Euch... Not today.... Why do I even have this?" passed her lips as she perused through her selection of clothes. Smiling as she settled on something, she awkwardly began to pull the clothes on; still holding the phone to her ear. "Seriously. There's gotta be a medal for dressing and having the phone not leave your ear once." She huffed as she flopped down on the bed.

Zayn rolled over in the hotel bed and sighed, blinking his eyes open to stare at the ceiling. For the life of him, he could not fall back asleep. So with another silent sigh, he got out of bed and picked up his sketch book and a pencil, making his way to the living room. Opening the book to a fresh page; he allowed his pencil to glide across the page to draw whatever was on his mind at that moment. Smiling softly, he paused for a moment to press play on his phone so he could have music in the background. Humming along, he allowed himself the liberty to get lost in his drawing like he did so often. Really, for him it was hard not to get lost in his drawings and the way the pencil would glide across the page. "And I will take, you in my arms..." He sang along quietly as to not wake up the rest of the guys. "And hold you right where you belong..." As the 'glorious' sounds that pointed to four guys waking up, Zayn reached over to turn off the music before continuing his drawing. "She's pretty. Someone you know?" Liam's voice floated over his shoulder. Looking at Liam, Zayn found that the lad was looking at what he had been drawing. Turning his head back to his work, he almost gasped at the sight of what his mind had drawn. He was a bit surprised he still remembered her in that much detail, he hadn't seen her in nine years. "Y-yeah... Something like that." He mumbled, closing the sketchbook before Harry or Louis could ask him questions.

"So where are we going?" Louis asked for what felt like the millionth time. Zayn chuckled at the exasperated sigh that passed Liam's lips. "For god's sake Lou. Are you listening this time?" A nod was given. "Okay, actually Zayn. It was your mum's idea. You tell us." Zayn rolled his eyes but put his phone down nonetheless. "Well basically it's this city in Morocco. Mum said it was a city I was familiar with; which I don't doubt, cause we lived there for a few years. But I don't remember much of it. Anyways. Mum has a friend who lives down there; he's a well respected Muslim man - so you should brush up on respectable Muslim greetings and stuff like that. Ask my dad if need be, cause I can only help you so far." Zayn paused for a moment. "He has a nice house, big enough for us and he agreed to house us for our vacation. That's the gist of it." The olive-skinned lad finished, leaning back into his seat. "Do you know the guy?" "If I do; it's probably not well. Like I said, I don't remember much from my time in the city. It was like nine years ago; or something."

Standing up, he turned to walk away. "Where you going?" "To call my mum. I want to know the name of the guy we're to be staying with." And with that, he wandered over to one of the bedrooms and closed the door behind him. After three rings, his mum answered with a "Hello Sunshine.". "Hello mum. I have a question..." He could hear her chuckle. "No beating around the bush from you today huh?" "Nope, sorry. The man we are staying with in Morocco. What was his name?" He could almost hear the smile in his mum's voice. "Siri Ali..." His mum continued talking, but Zayn had already tuned her out. That name sounded beyond familiar and he couldn't figure out why. He was sure he'd find out soon enough, but the not knowing was going to bother the heck out of him until he found out. "Sunshine?" Zayn shook his head and chuckled sheepishly. "Sorry mum. Love you, but I should go now. We leave soon and I don't know if Lou's totally packed yet." "Love you too baby. Have fun." And then they hung up. Siri Ali?

They arrived in Morocco nicely enough. "So... how do we know who to go with?" "Zayn's mum said that he'd recognize this Siri guy..." Zayn groaned. So all the pressure was on him to make sure they went with the right guy. "Excuse me?" An accented voice asked curiously. "Are you the five boys to be staying with Siri Ali?" They turned around and were met with the source of the voice. "Yes. Are you with him?" He asked politely, ignoring the confused looks from the other boys. They were new to this culture. In this culture, some of the more wealthy people had servants. This person was no doubt one of them. "Follow me then." With that the person was off and the five boys hurried to follow.

                              ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

They hadn't seen much of the Siri Ali guy on their way to his house. He had spent a lot of the time talking about his house, his niece; stuff like that. He occasionally asked the guys questions, but he did most of the talking; which was fine by them. Arriving at the house, Zayn stopped walking and stared. This was like deja vu or something. He'd definitely been there before. Shaking his head, he led the guys into the house where they finally got a good look at Siri. And Zayn's jaw just about dropped. "Oh my god." He breathed without really thinking. Shaking his head, he nodded. "Salam alaikum, Siri Ali. It has been quite a while." Zayn greeted with a smile. "Now I see what my mum meant when she said I would recognize things." "So you do know him!" Louis declared. "Yes." Zayn paused for a moment, eying the man of the house. He had a question in his mind that he wasn't too sure if he should ask. But he figured he'd regret it if he didn't. "Does Raneea still reside with you? Or have you found a suitor for your beautiful niece already." Zayn gave a small smile. "Whose Ra...neea?" Zayn glanced from Harry to Liam, who raised an eyebrow questioningly and Zayn knew what the question was. "Was she who you were drawing?" He nodded and turned his eyes back to Siri, ignoring Harry's question.

Zayn took in a breath as he looked around the house. Things hadn't really changed much, but that was just fine. Eyes drifting back to Siri, he immediately tugged his sleeves down so that they were covering his arms completely. The religion didn't exactly allow tattoos and now he was becoming quite self conscious. He silently hoped that Siri didn't know he smoked. That was a no-no in any culture or religion; as it was unhealthy; but still. He wasn't too keen on having Siri Ali have ammunition against him. "Salam Zayn." Siri greeted in return before Zayn spouted off the question that was burning a hole in his brain. "Raneea is my niece..." "Harry. Harry Styles." "She is my niece." "She your girlfriend Zayn?" Louis teased, and being the oblivious guy he was; he completely missed the look of horror that crossed Siri Ali's face. Zayn smiled softly and shared a look with Siri. "No Louis. She is not my girlfriend. She is Siri Ali's niece, and someone with whom I grew up with for a few years." He corrected before giving Siri a nod to show that he could continue. "But no, I haven't found a suitor yet." Rae was still single? That surprised him a bit. But maybe there were lots of prospective men he was just having a hard time choosing one? "No matter. With beauty like that - if I remember correctly. You'll find someone in no time at all." He said with a slight (a bit forced might we add, but no one needs to know that) chuckle.

"Well, if you'll excuse me for a moment. I will go and see if everything is ready. Feel free to look around a bit if you so desire." "But don't touch anything." Zayn added once Siri had turned around and was leaving. "Why did he look so horrified when Louis mentioned "girlfriend"?" Liam asked curiously, eying a plant. "Because in this culture, we don't get girlfriends." "Then how do you find out who you're gonna marry?" Zayn smiled softly at Niall's innocent question. "We don't. It's arranged." He found it interesting how, after years of being out of a fully Muslim city; he still referred to it as "we". If any highly ranked, respectable Muslim man looked at his life as it was; they wouldn't believe that he was a good Muslim child. Nope, he'd had girlfriends; he had tattoos; he smoked. But in his defense, if it was allowed; it seemed to be the American way. Or well, the way of everyone else. "So you're from here? I thought you said you were from Bradford?" Zayn shrugged a bit at Harry's query. "I am. I was born in Bradford, and I lived there for a long time. But I've also lived here." At their confused looks, he sighed and shook his head, knowing he was going to need to explain it. "Born in Bradford. Got it? Okay, once I was old enough for school; we moved here to Morocco, because my dad wanted to get in touch with the Muslim side of our family" Or was it that his dad's family was requesting to meet Zayn and his sister? "And then when I was nine; we moved back to Bradford where I've lived since." Well, he didn't live there anymore. He'd moved out and gotten himself a house in Hertfordshire. But they knew that so it wasn't like he needed to mention it.

"Alright! Everything is set. So if you'll follow Aara. She will direct you to your rooms and then we can have dinner." Nodding, the five boys followed the woman who responded to the name. Just as he was turning to follow her, his eyes locked with an all to familiar gaze and he stopped moving. Catching the smile, he returned it lightly. "Zayn you coming?" "Y-yeah." He curled his fingers in a discreet wave before scurrying after everyone to be led to their rooms. Rae's eyes were as captivating as ever. He for one, was glad that she wasn't married yet. Well, of course he was. He had promised to come back for her after all. And if he was going to prove to Siri Ali that he was good enough to take her with him, he would need to try his best to remember every little thing that mattered. If nothing else, he just wanted to be able to take Rae on a trip so she could see the world. They had both fantasized about going out to see the world together. Zayn had gotten that chance, and he wanted to give her the chance as well. He could take her to France, Italy, America... The options were endless.

Setting their stuff down, the five boys made their way back to the entrance way. "So Zayn, you've been here before. Do you know where to go for this dinner that he mentioned?" Louis asked as Niall's stomach growled, causing the blonde to smile sheepishly. The olive skinned singer laughed. "The black hole opening up Niall?" He teased, referring to the lad's stomach. They had often teased that the Irish had a stomach equivalent to a black hole. But Zayn shook his head. "Unfortunately not. Sorry Leprechaun."

"If you and your friends would kindly follow me Mr. Malik..." The servant, Aara if he remembered quickly, motioned for them to follow her to the dining area. Zayn frowned at the "Mr. Malik" comment. "Zayn, please. Mr. Malik is my father." "This sounds like it's going to be very formal... I don't think I'll survive here Zayn." Louis whispered dramatically, a look of worry etched onto his face. Zayn knew that the eldest really did want to be on his best behavior; but being a joker was something that he had been all his life. "You'll be fine Louis." Bur Zayn shook his head and opened his mouth to whisper back, but Harry beat him to it. "You're kidding right? Louis can't sit still half the time, let alone last one day without a joke." Louis pouted, but he knew it was true. He loved his jokes. "You'll live. Distract yourself or something." Zayn mumbled, falling silent as they entered the dining room. As far as Zayn remembered, the house itself hadn't changed much. The decorations had changed a little bit to match the constant changing of styles; but the general layout of the house was still the same. "Hello boys. I hope the room was satisfactory. Mrs. Malik mentioned that the five of you were alright with sharing a room. We have a few extra guest rooms if that is not the case." Zayn shook his head. "No that's fine Siri. We can room together. With the time we have spent on a tour bus; we've learned to room together." He said with a genuine smile. Siri nodded satisfactorily and motioned for them to take a seat. They were about to sit down, but then Aara directed them each to selected seats; Zayn being seated beside Siri.

"Siri Ali sir?" Another woman; servant most likely approached Siri. "Raneea..." Zayn couldn't catch the rest of the statement because the servant had lowered her voice so only Siri could hear it. But he couldn't help but be curious as to what Rae had to do with anything. Glancing around; he noticed that it didn't feel as festive as a normal "guest welcoming" type of diner. "Okay, we will do without a dancer." Zayn just nodded and the boys looked confused; he decided he would need to explain things to them later. After a while; they dug in and began eating. "Is Ra... neea not joining us?" Siri just shook his head and Zayn tossed a "I'll explain later" look to the guys as they just kept eating. The other servant woman returned with a plate of something. But when she left, she discreetly walked past Zayn and his artist eyes caught sight of a white paper on his lap that hadn't been there a moment ago. Picking it up, he glanced over to the servant and she pressed a finger to her lips; signaling for him to be silent about it and then she was gone. Sticking it into his pocket, he resumed his meal.

Upon finishing - and after Siri's whole spiel about what kind of behavior was and wasn't acceptable while they were under his roof; they were excused to do as they pleased. Louis and Harry opted for going out and about, Liam and Niall decided to watch a movie on Liam's laptop. And Zayn, he asked for directions to the bathroom. Closing the door behind him; he pulled the paper out of his pocket and unfolded it; carefully reading (and maybe rereading) the words that jumped up at him. Folding it once more and returning it to his pocket, he exited the bathroom and looked out the window. He would wait until it got darker. So to pass time, he went up to their room and joined Niall and Liam in their movie watching until the sun went down a bit farther.

Exiting the house, he sneaked around to a familiar path and walked along it until he found a tree that he had become very familiar with. He figured, if they were to talk after nine years; he would do it just like he used to. For old times sake. Taking to the tree, he grunted softly as he began to climb upwards, not stopping until he reached the window he was aiming for. Reaching his hand out, he gently rapped a few times on the window and waited for her to open it. "Hey good looking, what's cooking?" Zayn greeted with a playful smile on his face.

Liam's eyes fluttered open as his phone buzzed from the beside table. Sitting up with a yawn, he gathered his phone into his hand and wandered over to the kitchen before actually looking at the text message. He smiled, it was from his older sister - or one of them. They always seemed to enjoy texting him in the mornings, not that he minded. He'd always been an early riser anyways, especially when he was still training to be a professional runner. He used to wake up super early every morning so that he could get a run in before he headed off to school. Even now, he was still usually one of the first - if not very first one awake. There was the odd time when Louis woke up before him, but that was rare. Gathering the stuff he needed to make tea, he got the water brewing before he began to type out a response. He missed his sisters dearly. He'd always been a family oriented person; granted, not as much as Louis - that man seemed to revolve around his family, but his family still meant everything to him. Getting five mugs, he poured the tea before setting them on the counter top.

As predicted, Louis was the next one to wander out of the bedrooms - though he was always followed shortly after by Harry. "Good morning boys. Tea?" Liam nodded to the mugs on the counter, taking a mug for himself as he leaned against a counter. "Mornin' Liam." Louis yawned, Harry just giving a tired wave before reaching for a tea mug. "Morning Niall... Zayn still sleeping?" The Irish gave a small nod as he wandered over to grab a tea mug for himself. Smiling to himself, he picked up a tea mug for his friend and wandered over to Zayn and Niall's room. Walking to Zayn's bed, he prodded the Bradford native in the arm a few times. "Zayn... Wake up... Zayn mate - we have an interview today remember?" Liam huffed when Zayn simply groaned and rolled so he was facing away from Liam. "Zayn mate... Your hair's on fire." Zayn shot up with wide eyes. "What?!" He reached up a hand to pet at his hair, dropping his hand back down with a glare at the Wolverhampton male. Liam smiled softly before holding out the tea mug to the older singer. Zayn rolled his eyes, but took the mug from Liam nonetheless. Nodding to himself, he walked back out to the kitchen and looked to the three friends leaning on the counter in conversation. "I suggest y'all get ready before Zayn fully wakes up so we don't need to do our "last minute rush" again." Was what passed his lips as he placed his empty mug in the sink before heading off to brush his teeth. He'd taken care of showering the night before so they wouldn't all be scrambling for it.

Flopping down on a couch, he glanced at the time and sighed. "Four minutes!" He called out, hearing a collective gasp and the sudden pad of feet as they began to speed up their tempo. Liam tried to get them on time, he really did - they just... Never actually listened when he did, so they were late usually, not that he really minded all that much. At least it wasn't boring. "Done!" Louis announced, falling into the spot beside Liam. "Aye!" Niall bounded into the room soon after, followed shortly by Harry and Zayn. "Alright. Let's go then. We have an interview, then lunch with Modest! and then we have the rest of the day free." And with that, the five of them left for their interview to start off their day.

                              /////////////////////////////////

Four fifths of One Direction were waiting at the football (soccer) park. Louis said that he had someone he wanted them to meet, so he scampered off to go surprise this mystery person and drag them over to play a bit of football with them. "Who do you think he'll bring?" Harry posed the question to no one in particular as he lay down on the grass. "I don't know..." "Well obviously we don't know. That's the point of "meeting" this someone." Zayn pointed out matter-of-factly, causing Liam to scoff and roll his eyes at the olive skinned lad. Zayn smirked and flopped down beside Harry as they waited for Louis.

                              *********************
Louis on the other hand, bounded off in the direction he knew his old friend would be. He'd gotten word from his mum that Maggie was nearby, so naturally he'd been pretty excited. I mean, she was his best friend since like... Diaper days or something, so he missed hanging out with her. Besides, with their tour; he hadn't gotten to see much of anyone (other than the boys). So there he was, ready to surprise his best friend. Waiting by the door, he grinned when he saw her leave. "Maggie Hart? Louis Tomlinson has decided to grace you with his presence." The Doncaster lad grinned and made a small bow. "Not to be confused with "presents" " Sauntering over to her, he grinned and grabbed her wrist, tugging her along. "You have the rest of the day free. Don't ask me how I know that, seriously - you don't want to know. All you need to know is that Louis Tomlinson always finds out what he wants to find out. You on the other hand, since you've been graced with being mah best fran and everything. You need to meet the guys I like to call my brothers. So..." He took a deep breath and started to walk backwards in front of her. "What better way to bond than over a nice game of football, hmm?" Louis grinned and linked and arm around her shoulders. "They're all waiting there already."

Liam simply sighed and closed his eyes as he allowed himself to lay down on the grass. He wasn't sure how long Louis was going to take, or if he'd have one of those "wait, where are we?" moments that he has sometimes before he remembers and keeps walking. "Do you guys wanna kick the football around while we wait?" He proposed. Hearing a hum of agreement from Zayn, he stood up and walked a little ways away from the group so they wouldn't accidentally kick the ball at Niall or Harry; who hadn't moved from their spot. "What kind of person do you think this mystery guest is?" Liam asked as he kicked the ball in Zayn's direction. "I don't know... It sounds like someone he values a lot though." Liam nodded and smiled. That much was obvious. Whenever Louis would talk about this mystery person; he'd get really excited and his hand gestures would get a lot more animated than they already were. "I know, did you see the look on his face when he talked about this person?" This time Zayn nodded, which didn't surprise Liam; it would have surprised him if the Bradford native hadn't noticed.

The two of them paused in their passing of the football when they heard Louis' laugh sound. "You didn't?" And then Louis said something that they didn't catch (you'd think with an American boyfriend you'd know that) before his volume increased again. And Liam couldn't help but wonder what was said to the girl. "Soccer. It feels so weird having that word roll of the tongue." Liam nodded absently. It was a weird word. Well, weird for them, seeing as they didn't actually use the word often. It simply felt unnatural to say. And then Louis and his friend were standing by Harry and Niall, who had sat up; so Zayn and Liam made their way over. "Hiya! 'm Niall." Liam heard Niall pip up before bounding to his feet. "Harry." The curly haired singer waved and rolled his eyes at Niall's sudden energy. "Zayn." Who was this girl and how in hell did she know Louis? She was beautiful. Absolutely, breathtakingly-- "Li? Li? LEEYUMMMMM! YOU THERE?!" Louis' voice increased in volume a bit each time and Liam jumped a bit and shook his head. "Sorry... I'm Liam. It's nice to meet the person Louis was so excited to introduce to us." He shrugged and smiled a bit sheepishly. "Don't get used to Liam zoning out, cause he never does that." Well wasn't that the truth, he was as surprised as anyone that he'd zoned out for a bit. It wasn't often where he'd watch a person's lips move but not hear anything. Kind of like what was happening right now and he'd probably missed about half of Louis' ramble by now. "---But anywhore... I told Magsy here that we'd bond over a game of football. And since she's there. That makes our normal five, to six. So we can go three on three!" Liam chuckled a bit, but they all nodded at that and walked over to where Liam and Zayn had left the ball; well, five of them walked; Louis ran.

"So Maggie, was it?" He paused to make sure he got the name right before continuing. "So where are you from?" If they were to bond with his beautiful friend of Louis' then he might as well start with small talk.

He hadn't meant to completely zone out. Really. In fact he hardly ever did that - if at all. She was just so beautiful and how the heck did Louis snag such a beautiful girl for a friend? And maybe Liam was a little vulnerable because he'd just come out of a relationship, but either way - he couldn't help but glance at Maggie every once and a while out of the corner of his eyes. He had never seen this girl before in his life and he wondered briefly, why Louis kept her from them. He'd never seen her, therefore he knew nothing about her other than what Louis was saying or had said - which wasn't much. This would explain why he felt a sudden urge to talk to her, well that or just because he thought she was pretty. Whichever really. But within moments of Louis sprinting off towards the middle of the field, Liam was asking Maggie where she was from.

Liam couldn't help but smile at her answer. "Yeah. Louis is like that. People think he doesn't have a heart, or that he's oblivious. But he pays attention to all of us and he knows exactly what he needs to do to get each of us to smile." He tilted his head and laughed a bit as Louis tripped over the ball. "As good of a friend as he is, I wonder how he's so good at football if he manages to trip over it like that." He joked lightly. As Liam and Maggie joined the rest of the guys, she queried about the teams and Louis got a thoughtful look on his face. "Oh no. He's thinking everybody run!" Harry joked, receiving a smack to the back of his head from the older lad. "Okay... Liam, Niall and Zayn will be one team. Then Harry, Maggie and I will be the other... Fair enough?"

                              / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

After a few exhausting games of football, Liam flopped down on the grass beside Zayn. "You're pretty good at football Maggie. Did Louis teach ya?" Because out of the five guys, Louis was without a doubt the best footie player so it wouldn't have surprised the Wolverhampton lad very much if the older lad had passed on his love of the game to this friend of his. "Hey, do we all want to go back to mine and Harry's and watch a movie or something? Maggie you have no say because I'm gonna drag you along anyways." Liam laughed, but nodded nonetheless. "I'm up for a movie night." "Sure!" "I live there, so I'll be there." Harry smiled. "I'll come, but I'm not sure if I'll watch the movie. Might just give Perrie a call." "Then it's settled! Movie night!" With that, the Doncaster lad jumped to his feet. "Guess that means we have to get up again... Where do you get all that energy from Lou?" Liam grunted as he pulled himself to his feet. Louis just shrugged sheepishly before leading the way, the football park wasn't too far from where he and Harry lived - so it wouldn't hurt them to walk there.

Vincent sighed as he leaned against the wall of their old school where at that moment, a high school reunion was being held. The regret of showing up was beginning to form in his stomach. He and his wife had agreed on arriving separately simply because her job held her back a little bit. She was an drama teacher at the high school that was just one town over and one that particular day; she had to grade some stuff or something equally tiresome before the next day. So there he was standing alone, not entirely sure who he should talk to - because in all actuality, there had been one person whom he could call his best friend. But seeing as his friend decided to join the army, he wasn't there and most likely wouldn't show up. Most people he wouldn't call his friends, some of them hung around him for his money and some didn't - but not many knew him on the level that Jax did.

Vincent had arrived late, not annoyingly so; but rather, fashionably late. Or that's what he liked to think. Now he was just waiting for someone he actually wanted to talk to to fall into his line of view, or for his wife to make an entrance. Whichever came first really. "Vincent!" Brown eyes blinked in surprise when his name sounded out and he looked in the direction of the voice, smiling a bit as she neared. "Hello lovely." His wife giggled slightly, slowing to a stop as she reached his side. "You look bored." "I am. Unbearably so. Why am I here again?" He toyed with the rim of the glass in his hand as he listened to Elle laugh. "Because it'd be nice to catch up?" She offered and he scoffed. "Mhm. Right. And who would I be 'catching up' with, hmm? My best friend is across the ocean and the other people are too absorbed to even know I'm here." Elle shrugged and glanced around the room. "How about... No... Maybe... Wow you really didn't have a lot of friends did you?" He shook his head. "That's weird... You were generally surrounded by people." Vincent raised the glass in his hand as if he was making a toast. "Courtesy of Jax and, or my money. Did you get a ride here?" Elle nodded. "Great. So what do you say we just head home for a movie night." His wife looked around for a moment, debating his offer. "Couch snuggles? Come on, we know you love couch snuggles with popcorn." He poked her side. "Alright." And that's what they did. The two of them went back home and snuggled on their living room couch with a bowl of popcorn between the two of them and a movie on the screen.

That was how they spent most of their nights - well the ones they had free anyways. Which would explain why he found himself on the couch one morning instead of their bed, being woken up by one very adorable collie. Rubbing at his eyes briefly, he slipped his glasses onto his face and untangled himself from his wife. Pulling the blanket over her, he groggily made his way to the bathroom to attempt to wash the sleep out of his eyes. "You'd think I'd be used to a normal work day." He said, half to himself and half to his dog. "It's a lot better than getting up at six for school, that's for sure." Vincent shook his head and made his way to the bedroom to get ready. He'd go for a casual type of dressy as usual. Not too casual but not too fancy either. Perfect for your regular, run-of-the-mill office worker. It's not exactly the type of job he thought he'd get in. In fact, if anything he figured he'd try to get as far away from the business world that consumed his father as possible. The only thing was, business was something - however much he didn't like what it did to some people, that he knew and was familiar with. He didn't know what else he would do with his life. In high school he knew he didn't want to follow in his fathers footsteps - and in a sense he hadn't; his father was a big time business man, he was just an office worker - but he hadn't actually had a specific other direction to go into.

Shaking his head, he moved to the couch and lightly shook Elle's shoulder. "Wake up lovely." Vincent said softly. "You staying for breakfast?" He smiled a bit at the sleep in her voice. "No. I think I'll just grab a cup of coffee on the way to work. Promised I'd come in a bit earlier today." He murmured as he ruffled the ears of his dog before grabbing his keys and, with a wave to his wife; headed off to their local coffee shop. He'd been going to the same old coffee shop since high school. It brought both good memories, as well as some he'd rather not think about. So Vincent always had mixed feelings about going, but generally he went nonetheless - because he genuinely loved not only the coffee and the little muffins, but the service as well. It was always so cheerful.

Jumping a bit as his phone rang, he sighed and answered it. Turning his car into the parking lot, he raised his eyebrows in surprise. "And why don't I need to come in today?" Vincent nodded even though the person couldn't see him. "Alright. Good luck fixing the pipes and whatever else." He said his byes and hung up, closing his eyes for a moment. Well that was lovely. Work took up most of his day so he didn't have to suffer with too much time on his hands. But now, what would he do? Elle had to head off to teach, so spending the day with her wasn't an option. His sister, although still in school - was apparently sick, so maybe he'd take her out to get some fresh air into her lungs or something. Shrugging his shoulders as ideas bounced around in his head, he got out of his car and walked into the deliciously smelling coffee house. "Morning Vincent." He tossed a smile to the man behind the counter. "mattina." By now everyone who worked at the coffee shop (and probably some who didn't) recognized the word. He said it every morning he showed up in the building. "The usual?" "You know me." "Of course we do. You still haven't left this humble town." "No reason to. My sister is here, my wife is here. My job is here. This is where my life is." He shrugged and leaned against the counter as he looked up at the menu. "How is the missus?" "Elle? She's lovely." The man across the counter simply hummed and continued making his usual.
