It's the most wonderful time of the year or at least it was in Frankie's eyes. There was nothing the redhead loved more than fall.... well there were a few things but fall was definitely one of her most favorite things along with Halloween. She wished it could be fall all year round. Among the many things she loved about fall, like the cool, crisp air, going to a pumpkin patch, and drinking apple cider; Francesca loved the fall festival. It was something she looked forward to every year, what she didn't look forward to was how packed The Hunter's Lodge would be tonight. In fact, Frankie had stayed much longer after she'd closed the bar to do an inventory of her supplies to make sure she had enough alcohol to get her through the night, hopefully, what she had, plus the incoming midmorning delivery would do. She could remember the first year she had ran the bar and had run out of alcohol way too early, had left her with some very angry townspeople and since that night she had learned her lesson. Also over the last few years, she had learned to leave a list so people could write in a specific drink they would like to drink, like a certain seasonal ale or cider and somehow jello shots ended up on the list as well.
Frankie took one last look at herself in the mirror and sighed, while she wasn't overly fond of her costume she was at least comfortable wearing it. Although she had to agree with Beatrix the bar wench costume was getting old and she needed something new. It had taken them, well her, forever to finally decide on a costume. Bee had kept listing off different costumes before Frankie had come around and decided on ringmaster. However, this was not what she had expected, true the costume could've been worse, she had seen plenty where the girls were wearing only shorts, fishnets, shoes that looked like only a stripper would wear and a skin-tight top that made the models boobs pop out. She fixed her hat one more time and then left her house.
The ride into town didn't take that long, now trying to find a parking spot would have been a b***h but luckily she had her very own at the bar. While she walked towards the entrance line she thought about the costume contest Bee had brought up, she really hadn't thought much about entering the contest but something told her she should. The line for the contest wasn't as long as she thought, though standing in line with the shoes she was wearing, she was going to be in for it the next day. The redhead chastised herself for not coming up with a better idea for shoes so her feet wouldn't hurt as bad. Finally, she saw the clipboard come into view and jotted down her not but not before seeing Bee's and Rye's name on there as well. There goes some friendly competition, she thought to herself as she walked away.
Now her main focus was getting some food but where to begin was the main question. Should she get something for an early dinner? A light snack? Or head straight for the desserts?
