Gabe's childhood was relatively normal. His parents divorced when he was five and his mother gained full custody since his father really didn't want to have anything to do with him. His mother began dating another man a little while afterwards. Gabe liked him a lot and his son, who was four years older than him. His mother married the man when Gabe was 10 and they moved in together. His new older brother, Jack, quickly became cruel to Gabe. Jack was 14 and would constantly take advantage of Gabe's willingness to please him. It manifested in the worst possible way. Jack would come into Gabe's room at night, hold him down and do whatever he pleased to the young boy.

This continued until Jack graduated and left for school. But by then, Gabe was traumatized. He tried to tell people what his older brother was doing, but no one listened to him. After all, Jack was the perfect son, student, friend. Gabe was a very quiet kid even after his brother left. His parents put a lot of pressure on him in his studies. When he was 15, he was in an accident with his parents. He suffered a pretty severe head injury and developed epilepsy from the injury. His mother began coddling him while his step father just pushed him harder. Gabe wanted to be a musician but his parents forbade it, piano lessons was all he could do.

When Gabe got into college, he quickly got involved in as much as he could, stayed as busy as possible. Things were going alright until the stress got to him and he had a series of seizures that showed him he needed to take things easy. While in college, he learned ASL as his second language and loved interacting with the deaf students at the school. He was slightly annoyed that he wasn't able to drive due to his epilepsy but was able to get around pretty easily most of the time.

After graduating, Gabe decided that he may not be able to be a musician, but he wanted to be involved in the industry. So he got a job at a label and quickly became one of their best managers. Since meeting AoE, he's found he really likes the band. It is far from his first group but is probably his favorite so far. He's kept his past wrapped up pretty tightly and doesn't usually tell people he has epilepsy either, since it usually leads to questions he doesn't like to answer and people assuming he can't do his job because of it.
