Beep, beep, bee-- With a tired groan, a hand emerges from underneath the sheets to slide her finger across her phone's screen before snuggling her pillows. She didn't want to get up today... Her nose was stuffy and face felt disgusting from the changing weather. Spring. The time of the year where everyone was feeling the change and sneezing from the pollen in the air. It really took a toll on this working woman almost frustratingly so. But being the woman she was it was really time for her to get up or she wouldn't get her two weeks worth of payment.
She lazily walked into her bathroom, turning on the faucet to splash her face with cold water to wake herself up. She pats her face, looking up into the mirror realizing that she didn't have her glasses. Crap... How she managed to walk over here without trouble was flabbergasting, and just thinking in that way she almost tripped over a shoe on her way back to her nightstand to grab her glasses. Then the world was clear. She blinked, groaning. With a quickness, Lena hurried with her morning skin care, brushing her teeth, applying ample amount of deodorant and lotion. Changed into her outfit she picked the night before, then hurried to her kitchen where she was greeted by Paloma her black cat. They meowed with a lazy stretch before rubbing against her leg. Okay, okay, give me a second I'll get your food right now. she brushes her hair with a comb, making sure its to her satisfaction before leaning over to grab the bowl off the floor to fill it with her cat's favorite kibble.
Lena looks at her wrist watch, smiling. Just on time. She reached for the keys on the counter top, saying her goodbyes to Paloma then quickly out the door.
Thankfully her workplace was in a walking distance, and conveniently near a cafe she stopped by every morning to get a quick latte and danish. While Lena was walking down the street, she couldn't help but admire the scenery around her. The sun was warm, trees were green, and the city was bustling as it did during this time of the day. Rush hour would end soon at the cafe, which was a relief to her since she preferred to have some down time in a comfortable atmosphere that wasn't overwhelming.
Upon entering the cafe, she was greeted with the strong smell of coffee and sweetness of their pastries. Everything screamed coffeehouse which was comforting to her. Lena takes a seat near the window, looking around for an employee to help her. Seeing that they were still a little busy, she rummages through her bag to take out her keyboard and tablet to work on some of her fashion designs and look through the latest news. She had just started coming to this cafe about two weeks ago, so it was still a little awkward for her to be in a new place with baristas she wasn't quite familiar with
Um, excuse me? I'm sorry I don't mean to impose, but may I order from you quickly? she felt rude for disrupting the friendly atmosphere, but she really needed a latte in her system quickly or she would fall asleep right here. Which didn't seem like such a bad idea... It was warm and cozy..
