The Japanese have a festival called Tanabata (七夕) or the Star Festival. It is usually celebrated on July 7th and sometimes August 7th in Japan. The festival traces its origins to a legend that the Cowherd Star (Altair) and Weaver Star (Vega), lovers separated by the Milky Way, are allowed to meet just once a year - on the seventh day of the seventh month. It is very romantic!
When this time of year comes around, people write their wishes on strips of paper and hang them on bamboo trees, along with decorations. The D-Party thought this would be a good tradition to steal for our very own festival!
Four random wishes will receive a small prize pack from the festival composed of a lucky cat and a biscuit stick! You may write as many wishes as you want, but you may only win once!
