　　▾　the self-proclaimed "kozuki oden", yamato is the son of kaidō of the beasts: former emperor and dragon king who

　　▾　oden's death. his final moments left a deep impression on yamato so much so — he wanted to become the legendary
　　▾　samurai himself. their respect for oden caused a rift to form between yamato and their father, who imprisoned the
　　▾　yamato for most of their life. he later befriended portgas d. ace during his time at wano and later on, his younger
　　▾　younger brother monkey d. luffy. yamato then decided to help luffy defeat his father and cut off their relationship
　　▾　for good; with kaidō's fall and the tyrannical reign of kurozumi orochi over, yamato remains on wano to help
　　▾　kozuki momonosuke protect the country from outsiders. however, he vows to eventually join the straw hat crew.
