Lexie has always been a free spirit. She's wild and has a thirst for adventure that doesn't allow her to sit still very long. When making a decision, she usually picks whichever option sounds most interesting or exciting. She is reckless and daring. She takes delight in adventure and despises authority.


❖ PASSIONATE


Lexie feels things very strongly, but in order to keep up a certain appearance, she tends to keep most of them hidden. But it doesn't change the face that Lexie is just, well, emotional. She is more likely to make decisions based on feelings, rather than logic, which causes her to be rather impulsive. She is also very quick to anger, which is the one emotion she never feels any need to keep to herself. Her unstable emotions cause her power to become very unstable, so she's learned to have a somewhat better control of them over the years.

Lexie's view of the world is rather short sighted, and she often forgets to regard even the feelings of those she's close to. It's not that she doesn't care about them; it's simply that the thought often doesn't occur to her. Conversely, Lexie doesn't have much regard or sympathy at all for those outside her circle. She thinks it better to worry about herself.

Lexie is blunt with her words. She is also talkative and loud. She likes to joke, but her style of humor is usually sarcastic. She's slow to warm up to people in the sense that she doesn't often open up about anything personal, even with her close friends, but she's an outgoing and social person by nature. She would much prefer to be in a crowded bar than an empty room. She enjoys conversation. She likes to be heard.

Lexie and her twin brother Xander were born to a single mother in the city of Ceresco. They never met their father; their mother thought it better that way. He wasn't one of her better decisions. She loved her children very much, but since she was a single mother with no education past high school, she had to spend a lot of time at work in order to support her twins. As a result, the siblings spent a lot of time at home alone in the rundown one-bedroom apartment in which they lived. Because of all that time spent alone together, they became inseparably close.

When Lexie and Xander were twelve years old, their mother was working late at the office, as she often did, when the twins got a call on their house phone. Lexie was the one who answered. A policewoman on the other end asked a few basic questions before informing Lexie, as delicately as possible, that her mother had been involved in a traffic accident, and had been found dead at the scene. Lexie said nothing in response. Tears just streamed down her face. She sobbed quietly into the phone--out of grief for her mother of course, but more than anything, out of fear. She knew they had no other family to speak of. Nowhere else to go. No one to take care of them. The officer on the other end tried to ask some follow up questions, but Lexie had become unable to answer the questions through the tears and snot. Not long after, her brother came in from their room, asking what happened. She could only shake her head in response and handed the phone to him. He kept his composure and answered the officer's questions, while Lexie buried her face in his chest and sobbed.

With no other relatives and no family friends to take them in, the twins were sent to live in an orphanage. A social worker showed up at their doorstep surprisingly quickly, almost immediately, in fact. Lexie was terrified for what the future held for them, but her brother did his best to reassure her. He was surprisingly optimistic about their new life in the orphanage. Unfortunately for them, the institution they were sent to was really one of Future Corp's pseudo orphanages, where they were subjected to genetic experimentation. Through it all, Xander always stayed strong, and Lexie learned to rely on his strength. Despite everything that happened to them, she never saw him fall apart and rarely even saw him cry. After a year of living in that facility, they were transferred to Future Corp's headquarters, where they were subjected to the company's cruel "genetic human enhancement" experiments.

In Future Corp's headquarters, Lexie and her brother were locked away in something like a cross between a prison cell and a hospital room, only... somehow more sterile. Everything in that room was bright white, from the walls to the furniture to the very clothes the twins had been dressed in. There were no windows, and only one door, which was locked tight and heavily reinforced, two beds, a small bathroom, a large mirror, and black security cameras, which watched them from every angle. They were completely isolated from the other subjects, which was probably for the best, considering the horrors they would have witnessed otherwise.

Xander was the first of the twins to be injected with the Genetically Infused Superhuman serum. The GISH serum attempted to destroy the subject from the inside out. It tortured him, physically and mentally. He spent the days in and out of consciousness, and intense pain read clearly on his face whether he was awake or asleep. Some days, even when he was awake, he made no sense. He spouted gibberish about monsters and shadows. Seeing her brother so tortured, so vulnerable, was the most difficult thing Lexie ever experienced in her life. It shattered the image of the strong, older brother she'd always held of him. The one that nothing could break. Her strength. Aside from all that, through all of the hardships in life, he'd been the one thing that was always there, and for the first time in her life, she feared she'd lose him. She stayed by his side, clutching to him desperately the whole time, sobbing and begging him to make it through.

Much to Lexie's relief, his symptoms eventually began to subside. She overheard the researchers say his outlook was good, that they predicted he would survive the genetic modifications and would soon come into his powers. But there was no time to rest. Soon after Xander's condition started to settle, Lexie was injected with the serum as well. He stayed by her side constantly while the serum ran its course through her. He kept it together, and promised her she'd make it through. He was the only thing that got her through the excruciating physical and mental distress. At one point, the researchers dragged him away from her to do some sort of testing. She wasn't sure how long he was gone. It could have been minutes. It could have been hours. It could have been days for all she knew! All she knew for sure was it was the most agonizing moment of her life. After some time, he was escorted back to their cell by a researcher and he returned to her side immediately.

Eventually, Lexie's condition began to stabilize as well. She heard some researchers mumbling to each other that she was likely to survive as well, and her brother wrapped his arms around her tight and adamantly refused to let go for what felt like at least an hour. Soon after Lexie made her recovery, some researchers with clipboards escorted her into another white room. Empty. One door, a large mirror (which she thought was probably double-sided), and those same, black security cameras.

A facility employee decked out in protective clothing followed her into the room and repeatedly inflicted physical harm upon her, yelling profanities and threats at her the whole time, telling her to "do something about it". What? What did they expect her to do? The physical and mental abuse only grew worse as time went on, and Lexie began to cry, asking herself why, why this was happening to her. All of her life, she'd had nothing. And time and time again, they found something more to take away from her. Her mother. Her stability. Her freedom. Even her body was no longer hers anymore. Future Corp. They'd taken everything from her. She had nothing left. And then he said it. The employee in the room with her. He said... she seemed close with her brother. Said that kids their age are fragile and something could happen to him. The researcher turned towards the mirror and relayed the number of a test subject. Xander's number. Lexie lay on the sterile floor in utter shock. The researcher turned back around to face her, and Lexie caught sight of a sinister smirk through his protective headgear. That was it. Her brother was all she'd had left. All she ever had. And they would take him from her too. She'd finally, truly lost everything.

"I'll kill you."

The words spilled from her lips before she realized she was speaking. Lexie rose to her feet, wobbling and shaking. She clenched her fists tight, nails digging into the flesh of her palms, breathing harsh and erratic. She felt something coursing--pounding through her veins, then. Rage? No...

Power.

She lunged at the Future Corp employee, wrapped her hand around his neck, and raised him off the floor effortlessly, despite the obvious difference in size and stature. Her newly found power surging through her body, she beat the man senseless. His protective head gear did nothing to help him; Lexie was able to smash it with her bare hands. The employee was unable to overpower her on his own, so three more men were sent in to pull her off of him. She thrashed about uncontrollably, shouting about how she was going to kill him, and with a sudden blast of dark energy, she violently pushed the researchers off of her, slamming them into the walls. By the time the men managed to sedate her, she'd already beaten the researcher to death.

When she awoke, she saw her brother's face, engulfed in a bright light. At first, she thought they both had died and gone to heaven, but the truth was that the GISH serum had caused him to develop light-based healing abilities, and she was back in that cell. She thought her first inkling may have been preferable.

Lexie's ability was very powerful, but because of that, it was also very unstable. Even after the initial unrest, they continued to torture her. At the slightest hint of emotional unsettle, her powers threatened to overpower her, and her life became a constant struggle to keep them in check.

After spending two and a half years in that place, the facility suffered a total power outage. A chance to escape! Lexie jumped at the opportunity. She'd had just about enough of that place. Enough of being locked up and deprived of her freedom. Enough of being tortured beyond her wits. And most of all, she'd had enough of the sterile white walls of the room that contained them. In the very moment following her comprehension of the situation, she was already busting down the door to her cell. Of course, even with security systems down, there was still the matter of the staff and guards. Lexie fought alongside their fellow Hellions, under her brother's direction, in order to escape. Her destructive powers were a valuable asset in fighting back against guards they hadn't managed to avoid. They weren't without casualties, but many Hellions managed to escape that day.

The escapees ran into a bartender named Gin, who helped keep them concealed until things settled and helped everyone get back on their feet. And the twins, who had become free and independent at the age of 15, worked on building a life for themselves in the city. They never finished school, but she didn't have any interest in going back.

Lexie continued to have difficulty controlling her powers. One day, while in a relatively petty argument with her brother, a simple spat between siblings, she lashed out suddenly and accidentally blinded his left eye. That was when he discovered his healing powers had no effect on injuries she inflicted using her powers, likely because light and dark were opposing forces. She could never work up the nerve to apologize to him, but she continues to feel guilty about it to this day.

The twins soon found jobs working for Gin at his pub. He provided them room and board in addition to their pay until they turned 18, when they moved out and into their own apartment in a building across the street, where they still live today.

Darkness is both an incredibly powerful and destructive force and its energy can be utilized in an offensive way, either by granting enhanced strength to the user or by being formed into blasts which can be directed at the target. However, dark energy has a mind of its own and threatens to consume the user if not controlled properly.


❖ POWER STRENGTHS


The darkness can amplify the energy levels within Lexie's body, increasing her strength and agility. Alternatively, she can channel the energy into dark energy blasts in various shapes and sizes, which can inflict a great amount of damage to the target. At low strength, Lexie is able to have complete control over her actions, thanks to her training. She can also, whether willingly or accidentally, allow the darkness to take control of her in varying levels. The more she surrenders to the darkness's control, the more powerful she becomes.


❖ POWER WEAKNESS


Dark energy can only destroy; it can't be used defensively, and because of its destructive nature, it is extremely fickle and difficult to control. When in a heated emotional state, Lexie may use her abilities without meaning to, and the more power she uses in her attacks, the more it seems that her abilities are controlling her, rather than she controlling them. If not tamed properly, this power could drive her to madness.

Which doesn't mean much, practically, as it's only by a few minutes, but the fact that she can claim to be the "little sister" might help her justify her reliance on on her brother.

But because of her choice in footwear, she appears to be about 5'9", the same height as her brother. She originally started wearing platform boots because she didn't like her brother being taller than her.



❖ SHE HAS A TATTOO ON HER SIDE


Of a dagger and a rose. It's on the right side of her abdomen. Her main motivation for getting the tattoo was that she thought it would look cool.



❖ SHE HAS FOUR EAR PIERCINGS


Two in the lobes of her right ear, one in the lobe of her left ear, and one in the cartilage of her left ear.



❖ THE EYE PATCH


Her right eye actually functions perfectly. She started wearing the eye patch when Xander did. She meant it as a reminder not to let her powers get out of control, lest she hurts the ones she loved. This is a sensitive topic to her, however, so she may lash out when asked about it. "It's none of your damn business!"

Lexie's twin brother. She's rarely seen without him as the twins are quite inseparable, which is understandable considering all they've been through together. She's always been able to rely on him, and she couldn't imagine living without him. Admittedly, she's a bit clingy when it comes to her brother, and often drags him along to do things he doesn't want to do. As much as she loves her brother, she also loves to tease him, and is not above pressing his buttons from time to time.






▬ ( TRINITY BLAKE


Trinity is Lexie's best friend, but she wasn't always so. At first, they were something more like rivals. Trinity's ability didn't quite match hers in power alone, but she had a much firmer grasp on it, and aside from that, she was a skilled fighter. This made her a worthy adversary every time Lexie faced her in the ring. Lexie nearly always lost at first, which frustrated her to no end, but eventually, she learned to fight on par with her. Lexie ran into Trinity during the power outage, and hot-headed as she is, responded with hostility. It took some convincing from both Trinity and Xander, but Lexie agreed to team up with Trinity. She earned Lexie's respect in battle, and after escaping, the two became fast friends. Today, Trinity is Lexie's very best friend. They spend lots of time partying and drinking together, and even have keys to each other's apartments.

Lexie and Vasileios are good friends. He brings a certain energy to a room that's kind of invigorating, and the two of them can bond over fashion, even if their individual styles are a bit different. They and Trinity often hang out and go on "adventures" together (which usually constitutes something like karaoke and a trip to the mall or drinks on the roof of Lexie and Trinity's apartment building). Admittedly, his energy can be a little exhausting, even for her, but he's a dear friend of hers.
