♠ ♠ It was way past dawn and the sun was already on its way to the top. It was quiet and peaceful and only a few car buzzing and birds chirping could be heard all around. It seemed like everyone was still trying to get up from the lack of activity in the streets but somewhere near the park, sounds of bats swinging and balls being hit resonated. Two young males were playing on the outdoor batting cage. The pitching machine tossed out a fast ball but it was no match to the two friends that were at the other side. Being that the last ball for the morning, the two retired to the nearby bench. One of the males was Kyle and it was not unusual for the Baseball Captain to be seen in such a place. He took his clean towel and wiped his damp hair and his neck. His little brother, Luke, was his companion for the morning warm-up. The boy took a seat on the bench and drank from his bottled water. “Wasn’t that great, Luke?” Kyle asked as he sat beside his little brother. “I love playing here with you. I wish we wouldn’t be leaving today.” His parents and his sibling were in town and they always visited Kyle on his apartment. They already stayed the night for the past three days and today was their last day before taking the trip back to North Carolina.

♠ ♠ Kyle patted his little brother’s head before taking their bags. “Don’t worry Luke. I’ll just be here when you decide to visit me again.” He assured him that he was always welcomed to his place. The two started their way back to Kyle’s apartment and as they entered, Lila; Luke’s twin sister greeted them with her little sweet smile. “Good morning! Mom said that breakfast will be done soon. So you two should freshen up first.” Kyle smiled back at her before kissing her forehead. “Good morning Lila. We’ll be heading to the bathroom then. Thank you.” Lila left towards the kitchen while the two boys head for the bathroom. Kyle let Luke go first while he fixed his stuff in his room. Baseball season was over and practice as well, but he needed to let out some of his enthusiasm at the pitching cage for him to calm down. Today was the day that his group of friends had planned to go in a last adventure before continuing thru college. Kyle was very excited about this trip that he ended up waking earlier than his alarm. He pulled his backpack on his bed to place the last things he needed for the trip. Their destinations are endless and he just wanted to be sure that he was ready for anything.

♠ ♠ He looked around his room; just to be sure he didn’t forget anything else before placing back the backpack near his duffel bag on the floor. He would be bringing both bags to the living room later when he is ready. There were still a few hours before his girlfriend, Jayda, would pull up near his apartment. Thinking about her just made him more enthusiastic to start this trip. Not that he intended to do anything stupid while with her in this trip but it was a trip that they have control off. There wouldn’t be anyone to protest of where they will go or what they would do. It was a trip that they would enjoy; at least, he believed it to be. The unlocking and opening of the nearby bathroom made look pull his towel from his chair and all his lined up clothes beside it. He zoomed towards the bathroom and took a cold long shower. He wouldn’t be long if he didn’t sing a few songs as intermissions. His shower lasted around forty minutes plus another ten for dressing up. He walked out of the door and Lila was already calling them for breakfast. Kyle hurried to his room, sitting on his bed to put on some socks and his shoes. He fixed his hair and put on his favored cologne, before taking his backpack and duffel bag out to the small living room.

♠ ♠ “You’re going somewhere?” A voice halted him just a few feet from him. He looked back and his father was staring at him curiously. “Oh. I’m going to a trip with my friends.” He answered before placing his bags on the floor. “Does your mom know about this?” He heard his father ask and Kyle knew that his father was being considerate of his mother’s feelings. “You know her. She is always worried when you are far from her.” Kyle let out a small smile of assurance to his father. “Don’t worry father. I already asked permission from mother. It took me a week to get an answer but I’m glad she considered.” His father just nodded before walking towards the kitchen; where the dining room was located as well. Kyle followed and at the counter was his mother, pouring some maple syrup on the last batch of pancakes. As he looked at the table, he almost laughed at the sight. He knew his mother was already worrying about the trip since she prepared so many pancakes for just the five of us. Kyle walked towards his mom and hugged her from behind. “C’mon mom. You don’t need to worry too much.” He whispered and his mother just shook her head. “Whenever you kept telling me not to worry too much; something would always happen.” Kyle chuckled before walking towards his seat. “You better finish all these pancakes I cooked or I won’t be letting you leave for the trip. At least give me the assurance that you won’t let yourself starve.” Kyle just smiled at the comment of his mother before sitting down on his seat.

♠ ♠ He was about to take a slice of pancake on his mouth when he felt his phone vibrate. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and scrolled open the message that just came. It was from Jayda and he couldn’t help but smile as he read the message and while he typed his reply.

                                                  To: Jay<3
                                                  From: Kyle
Good! I got mine done as well.
                                                  I’ll wait for you then.
                                                  Can’t wait to see you!
Are you coming on alone, because I really need help with my mom’s pancakes again?

♠ ♠ He put down his phone on the table but suddenly remembered something he forgot to include on his message.

                                                  To: Jay<3
                                                  From: Kyle
                                                  Hey Jay,
                                                  I love you! <3

♠ ♠ With that, he placed his phone back on the table and tried to finish what he can from his mother’s cooking this morning.

♠ ♠ It was not a minute too soon nor too late for the trip and Kyle was quite excited since most of their friends was finally here. He watched as Jayda and Anthony talked about the bags and he just remembered his own. He still hadn’t taken them out but breakfast made him took his time; not that he was complaining. Aside from Anthony, Vivienne and Henry, Kyle saw a familiar face coming forth on where they were. She was no other than Jessie and Kyle let out a smile as she acknowledged them with a random fun fact. “I’m quite excited and I can’t wait to leave.” He answered her before Vivienne and Henry joined them. Vivienne greeted him with a pat on the back and he did the same as he replied with a simple, “Hey Viv”. Kyle could see that everyone was really enthusiastic to start this trip but they were missing two persons as Anthony said.

♠ ♠ He had no clue on where the two were but he could text Fritz and let Jayda contact Annie. Kyle felt his pockets but he couldn’t feel his phone; then he remembered that he left it on the table. “Hold on. I forgot my phone on the dining room. Let me just get it.” He excused himself and ran towards his front door and walked inside towards the kitchen. He found his phone and took it; finding a few messages he just received. He checked them out and two were from Anthony and Jessie. He just closed both messages since it was pointless to reply and just placed it back in his pocket before taking the Tupperware with pancakes, and rushing towards the living room for his bags. “Are you leaving now?” A tiny voice echoed beside him and as he turned, Lila sat on the sofa. “Soon, but we need to pack all the bags on the van; just to be ready.” He answered as he took his bags on his shoulders. He kissed Lila’s forehead before turning towards the door but his mom stopped him. “Oh! Are you leaving now? Do you need your key?” Kyle just shook his head as he didn’t need his spare house keys. “You just keep it mom.” He smiled at her while his father walked towards him. “You better keep in touch. You don’t want your mother to be too worried.” He reminded his oldest son before he, himself took their bags to their car.

♠ ♠ Kyle gave his mom a hug before saying his last goodbye to his family. “Bye mom. Be sure to update me as well. I won’t be around but just call me when there is an emergency and I’ll come as fast as I can.” He was not only pertaining to everyone in the family but especially about his father. His father just had a heart attack a few months ago and he was still trying to get back his old strength. He was already good now but he was still prone to having one again if not given care correctly. Good thing his mom was a doctor as well so she can get fast attention if ever an emergency comes forth. “Just be careful, okay?” His mom reminded before kissing his cheek and walked out of the door with Lila towards their car. Luke on the other hand had forgotten his PS Vita on the guest room so he came running towards the door; not wanting to get left behind. “Bring me some souvenir when you come back to North Carolina!” He yelled before running towards the car. Kyle went after him and towards his parent’s car. “I won’t forget, Luke. I’ll bring something for everyone.” He closed the door on Luke’s side and turned to the front passengers’ seat to his mother and father. “You all take care. I’ll contact you guys when we reach our first destination. As of now, we still have no clue where that is but I’ll definitely message you guys tonight.” He reassured them that he will be in contact with them throughout the trip. “Take care, son.” His father lastly said before letting the sedan move. They turned the corner and they were nowhere in sight.

♠ ♠ He walked back to his friends with his bags still on him. As soon as he stopped beside Jayda, he remembered he needed to contact Fritz. He took out his phone and typed a message to Fritz.

                                                  To: Fritz
                                                  From: Kyle
                                                  Hey! Where are you?
Do you need to be picked up somewhere?
Everyone’s already here in my apartment.

♠ ♠ He knew that Annie was still not there but he figured that maybe she and Jayda had already talked. He turned back to his friends as he slid his phone back to his pocket. “So, let’s load all the bags first.”

ooc: So much for trying to get my groove of writing back...

The plane has landed at the runaway of the Venice Marco Polo Airport and the young male sitting by the window finally opened his eyes. He yawned as he tried to wake himself from his slumber. The native European, Luke Johan Roux, had finally arrived in Venice, Italy with his group of friends. He couldn’t say he already visited Venice but he was around five back then; so he could not remember a thing. The dark blonde haired male took his and his girlfriends’, Darinee, luggage and stacked them in the back of the cab and off they went to their destined hotel. He was one of the last ones out of the taxi as he also took out their luggage. As he went inside the front hall, Darinee and the others had already talked about how the bunks were agreed on. Boys are in one room and girls in another. Luke didn’t hate the idea. He was quite pleased with it. It was not that he didn’t want to share a room with his girlfriend, but lately he couldn’t really feel the warmth he had felt when their love was still burning. He never knew when the flame started fading but he knew it could be near its end. This trip could save their relationship or it could end walking their separate ways.

As the gals and guys had their keys, Luke walked towards the boy’s room first to put down his things. He could see one bed fit for the four of them but there was this sofa bed that could also be used by another pair. He thought it would be better if two stayed at the bed and two on the sofa bed. He placed his bag beside the sofa and claimed it as his bunk for the rest of the trip; he was just unsure who will be sleeping with him. He took his watch from the pocket of his backpack before realizing that Darinee’s bags were still with him. “Man…” He whispered under his breath before taking the luggage and walking towards the girl’s room. He knew it may be out of bounds for the guys but he just had to place Darinee’s bags inside. The door was unlocked but he knocked before taking a peek inside. There was no one there but the girl that had been bothering him in his mind, Topher. It was nothing bad but it was something he couldn’t explain. Does he like her or was it just some phase he was having because his relationship with Darinee was starting to crumble? “Uhm, excuse me...” He started, “I’ll just drop by Darinee’s bags here.” He continued as he placed the bags besides the door opening. After placing the bags, he excused himself again before walking back to the boy’s room.

As he was entering the room, he finally heard Darinee and the others and as he looked, the rest of the girls had gone in their room. Luke went in the room as Nolan and Andrew walked out. He sat down on the sofa trying to get Topher out of his mind. He surely admired the girl; her silky red hair, her smile and how her scent would stick in his mind, but Luke was not the type of guy that would come over and sweet talk. He was rather quiet while Darinee was the one who had much to say. He just shook his head as he tried to think of what they could do during their first day; though he thought the girls would be the ones who’ll have something to say about that.

ooc: I am sorry for the late intro post. I had tried to make a layout for this but in the end, I just used this former layout I had used from another RP...

It was around seven in the morning and one by one, the nurses and doctors started to log out of their shift and the next ones came to log in. It was the start of the next shift of nurses and doctors in the hospital and it has been the same every day. Among the nurses who participate in this tradition, there was this young man who seemed to do things his way. He stayed more than his shift but didn’t ask for a single penny more to his salary. His co-workers thought of it as silly and crazy. Who would not ask for a raise if they need to stay longer than their shift? Well, Travis believed otherwise. He would come in around seven in the morning and would stay for a day and a half. He would then go home and freshen up and sleep a little before going back the next day at seven. No one could tell him to stick with his shift because he simply loved his job. The hospital even accommodated his liking and would hire a part-time to take his place when he goes home. Good thing about it was that the hospital saves money from it and uses it for supplies on the ward he works on, the Hospice ward.

Driving his second hand but well maintained Honda CBR, Travis pulled up on his usual spot in the parking lot minutes before seven o’clock struck. He walked inside to report in and the others greeted him as though he was a celebrity. He wasn’t, though he was just a really friendly person. He walked to the elevator and waited for it. “Good morning Travis.” A female nurse greeted beside him. “Good morning, Nicole.” He greeted back. The girl smiled at him before she handed a cup of hot coffee. “I accidentally ordered two and I know you don’t drink coffee before coming to work…” She went silent and just smiled. “Anyway, hope you have another fun shift.” She said lastly before walking off to her desk before Travis could even thank her. Rumors around the population of nurses stated that Nicole had a crush on Travis but Travis was just too friendly to see their relationship on another level. Even so, Nicole didn’t stop on trying to take care of him.

The elevator doors opened and Travis stepped in. As the elevator opened its doors once again at his floor, he stepped out and went directly to his desk. He dropped off his things and before he could even check out the patients he was taking care of, a light tug on his pants halted him. “Uhm… can you help me get Coco?” Travis kneeled down beside the little girl who was diagnosed to have Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia just five months ago and had undergone chemotherapy. They thought the chemotherapy was working well until the girl had a relapse in less than six months of treatment and is now worse than before. Travis smiled at her, “Okay Sarah. Where did Coco go last night?” Coco was the girl’s teddy bear that Travis gave her a month ago on her birthday. She really loved the stuffed toy and would never do anything without Coco. “She tried to go to the comfort room but got stuck under the bed.” She explained. Travis let out a small chuckle as he was amused on the kid’s imagination. “Okay. We’ll get Coco.” He took her hand and they both walked to her room. Travis looked under the bed and there was Coco, lying on her back. He stretched his left arm to reach the bear and as he pulled it out, he dusted it off before looking at it with furrowed brows, “Coco, you know you shouldn’t worry Sarah. Now you behave and stay with her.” He then looked at Sarah who was patiently waiting beside him. He smiled at her before handing her the stuffed animal, “Here you go Sarah. Take good care of Coco.” The girl thanked him with a hug before skipping out of the room towards the desk with other children doing arts and crafts.

Travis then went on to his usual rounds of all the patients he was taking care of and he wouldn’t leave their room until he knew they were comfortable. After his rounds, he walked back to the nurses’ station and to his desk, finally remembering the coffee that Nicole had given him. He took a drink and it was already cold. “When would I fully drink hot coffee?” He protested with sarcasm. He loved his job and he wouldn’t do anything else until he checked on everyone, which often results to his food or coffee getting cold. He didn’t mind either way. He opened his computer to check on some mails or messages that doctors or other nurses left him. There were the changes on the medicines for some patients, schedule of some tests or treatments and one note that he didn’t see quite often recently. A note from a doctor telling him that there would be a new addition to the Hospice ward that morning. “Adolie Lovette…” he whispered; trying to remember where he had encountered that name. He tried to recall what he had done yesterday and one incident brought his memory back about the name. He remembered she was the one who he saw being brought in the emergency room and he was one of the nurses who took her in the ICU. He sulked on his chair as he just realized that the girl just didn’t have a head accident. He thought she would be released today but to his sadness, starting today, she will be staying in the Hospice ward.

The door to the Hospice ward opened and it took Travis’ attention. The doctor that sent him the note just came in and he judged that behind him were the parents of the girl. Travis stood up quickly and walked towards them and the doctor briefed him about her illness, introduced him to her parents and was also told that he’ll be responsible for her well-being while she waited for a donor. He took note of everything before smiling to Mr. and Mrs. Lovette, “Please don’t worry. I’ll make sure she’ll feel comfortable here. I’ll be taking care of her personally.” He wanted to assure them that he’ll be responsible of her. As he did reassure them, he glanced to his left and there, standing by herself was Adolie. He walked towards her as he past some children playing around. He stood beside her and as open as he is, he greeted her. “Adolie? Would you like to be shown to your room?” As she looked at him, he knew she was still trying to take in the sudden news that the doctor had brought upon her and he felt bad about it. He observed her arms around her body and thought she might be cold, “Are you cold?” He slowly took off his jacket and placed it on her shoulders.

He led her then to her room; room 312. He let her in as he stayed by the door. “Well, this is your room now. Is there anything you want me to get you? Extra pillows? Maybe something to drink? Eat?” He paused as he watched her stood there and thought maybe he just overdid his asking. “Just tell me, okay? My desk is just a few feet from your door.” He added as he hesitantly walked out of the door. Just then he remembered he forgot to introduce himself. He walked back to her door and took a peek. “Say… I’m Travis by the way.” He smiled and scratched the back of his head from embarrassment before walking back to his desk.

Travis waited patiently by the door for the food that the girl in front of him would like to eat tonight. The dinner tonight won’t be as special if the favorite dish was missing. Travis remained his focus on her and as he noticed she shifted her gaze somewhere beside him, Travis took a small peek beside him and there he saw a familiar figure and he just smiled before looking back at Adolie; catching her answer as he did. He let out a small sigh and was about to ask her for something more specific because it was hard to actually pick and it wouldn’t serve the purpose he intended, however, before he could even say anything, he heard little Emma’s voice, "You gotta choose." He instantly closed his mouth and watched as the two started talking. It didn’t take long in their conversation when he heard a specific dish from Adolie and even though he was unsure if it was what she wanted to eat for tonight, he would go with it anyway.

Crossing his arms in front of him as he listened more to their adorable chat, he could not help but smile at the two girls as they talked. He stood there staring at them and unaware of it; his gaze was fixated on one of them, Adolie. He came back to himself when he heard a chuckle and as he looked, Emma was grinning at him and he was a bit confused. “Wait… what was that for?” He suddenly asked but Emma just ignored his curiosity. With a hint of what the grin might mean, Travis just stayed there by the door; still wanting to know if he guessed right. Emma and Sarah were quite the pair in Travis’ love life. The two girls along with their stuffed bears would always try and hook him up with girls they think would be best for him. It happened a few times already and Travis ended up going on a date with those women but when he came back to continue his shift, Emma and Sarah would be disappointed with the news he would give them. He was not interested on having a girlfriend yet and he would explain it to the women they hook him up with. He’ll tell them that the main reason why he would go on the date was to just indulge them on their wishes.

He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard his name and the only thing he heard after was, “…isn't he?" Confused once again, he fixed his stance and was about to ask when Emma told Adolie about Sarah and Coco. Travis couldn’t help but smile. Kids really have a way of making people more comfortable of their surroundings. Travis could see that Adolie started to loosen up and it was a good thing. That’s one thing he loved about children. He wouldn’t know how to get things as comfortable as it is without the help of the children. He moved aside as Emma led her out of the room and went straight to the arts and crafts area; where Sarah, Coco and their friends were playing.

Travis did not say another word to the girls as they started walking away. All he could think about now was to go and call up his friends to take care of things for the party. He walked back to his desk and checked his phone for any word from Matt; who he asked to prepare the balloons. There was a message from him stating that the balloons were already ready and asked if there was anything else he could help with. Travis called him instead and told him about the food he needed by tonight. Matt confirmed that he would get them all in by tonight. He would be paid for doing it so he was not complaining. Placing his phone down on his desk, he let out a sigh, “Done. I hope everything would come out smoothly later tonight.” He said to himself before taking the banner that the kids had done.

Meanwhile, on the arts and crafts area, Sarah and Coco were busy drawing a new picture that intended to give Adolie later at the party. The other kids had started with theirs as well. She just finished drawing herself and Adolie together when she glanced at Coco who was beside her paper, “What do you think Coco?” She went silent as she waited for the stuffed bear to answer her, “You’re right. She will love it.” She finished the drawing as she wrote her name and the other girl’s name. Just as she finished, she glanced to her side and saw Emma with Adolie walking towards her. She took another paper and placed it on top of her drawing before whispering to his friends who were at the same table that they were coming; so that they could also hide their drawings. Just in time, Emma stood beside her and without wasting another second, introduced Adolie to her friends. “Guys, here is Princess Adolie. She’s Prince Travis’ fiancée.” With that, Sarah jumped up from her seat with a very wild smile. “Emma! You’re right! They are right for each other!” She said almost jumping up and down with excitement. The others started to leave their seat and surrounded Adolie.

Back at Travis’ desk, he started taping up each paper with different letters spelling out ‘WELCOME’. He taped it up on his movable white board and he was about to paste up the next two letters; T and O, when a familiar voice asked him if he needed help. Travis looked back and saw Nicole smiling at him. “Hey… uhm. I’m good.” He answered back as he pasted the two paper letters up. “You sure? There are still bunches of letters you need to put up.” Travis glanced back at her with a smile. “Uh.. Don’t you have things to do?” He said, wanting to change the subject as he continued on pasting the next word. “Chris said he’ll call me when he needed help. So I guess I could help out a bit.” She walked up beside Travis and started picking up some of the letters. Travis on the other hand flashed another smile her way and let her do what she wanted. Besides, the more who helped, the faster they get to finish the preparation.

Back at the arts and crafts area once again, the kids were busy playing with Adolie when Sarah caught at the edge of her view the infamous woman she and Emma did not want to come near Travis, at all. She walked up to Emma and whispered about Nicole walking up to Travis. The arts and crafts area was near Travis’ desk so it was not hard to spot people coming in to talk with Travis. “Code pink!” Emma shouted loud enough for only the kids could hear and not Travis nor Nicole. Everyone went into a huddle, leaving a fair amount of space for Adolie to join as well, since Sarah pulled her into it. “What are we gonna do?” One of the kids asked when everyone was all ears. “We need a plan to make Nicole leave Travis.” Emma answered as she glanced back to Nicole then back to the group. “What do we do now? Travis already knows all of our plans.” Kent asked but Sarah suddenly blurted a plan she had just thought of. “We’ll just need to be straight to the point.” Emma looked at her best friend with curiosity in her tone, “How? Travis would just ask us to go back to doing our stuff.” With a grin, Sarah looked at the older girl beside her before replacing it with a sweet smile. In an instant, Emma understood.

Sarah and Emma took each of Adolie’s hands and pulled her to Travis’ desk. As soon as they arrived, Travis glanced at them with a smile. “Is there anything you girls need?” Emma and Sarah shook their heads before glancing back at Adolie who seemed confused and unaware of what was going to happen. “We want to speak with Nurse Nicole.” Sarah said politely and Nicole agreed as she walked towards the three girls. Travis stopped on what he was doing as he wanted to listen to their conversation. Little Emma smiled sweetly at Nicole, “Nurse Nicole, we know you like Prince Travis but he is already engaged with someone.” She blurted out and without a pause, Sarah continued, “It is true.” Squinting a bit, Travis started walking towards the group and stood a meter beside Nicole. “What do you girls mean?” Nicole asked as disturbed as she was. The two little girls smiled back at her and at the same time glanced at Adolie. “This is Princess Adolie. She is Travis’ fiancée.”

As confusing as the situation was for Travis, Nicole and maybe even for Adolie, Travis couldn’t help but step in between. “You two, what are you planning again?” but before he could continue, Nicole stopped him and said it was okay. She looked back at Travis then to the new girl the little ones introduced. “It’s nice to meet you. I’m Nicole.” She smiled before turning to the little ones, “Okay, I’ll go now.” Without saying anything to Travis other than just a smile, Nicole left the ward. Travis heaved out a big sigh before looking back at Emma and Sarah. He knelt in front of them with a small smile before shaking his head. “You two…” He started before letting out another sigh, “Both of you know I’m not interested on Nicole. She’s just like a sister to me.” He placed his one hand on Sarah’s shoulder and the other on Emma’s, “You two should apologize to Nicole,” he glanced up to Adolie, “and to Adolie.”

He looked back at the two young girls, “I’m not mad on the both of you but you two should be considerate of others feelings.” He pulled both girls to a hug. He let them run off back to their friends before standing up. He then turned his focus on Adolie who was just beside him. He scratched the back of his head in embarrassment once again, “I’m sorry. Those two just don’t know when to quit.” He looked apologetic but at the same time he couldn’t stop himself on smiling. “Those two are acting like my cupid. They are not afraid to confront a girl and say if they don’t want or want her to be close to me.” He crossed his arms as he let out a light laugh as he watched the two play with their stuffed bears.

ooc: That was long... I'm sorry. I got caught up in writing it and did not realize it was already that long...

Nothing intrigued Luke more than the stories that he would hear or the things that he would experience when alone in an abandoned place or locked in at night at some of the infamous places in the state. He truly wanted to grasp the knowledge of every hidden secret of each place he would go through. Sometimes he would go with paranormal investigators and most of the time, just by himself. He was not scared even though he knew that spirits are still capable of hurting the living. Seeking these spirits and experiencing the paranormal just made him who he is.

Luke was a varsity of the basketball team of his high school and he met a lot of friends but only a few of them really knew his liking of the paranormal. In the past, he would share s experience but his friends would think of him as weird and a freak. When he went to high school, only a few knew of this and being a member of the basketball team made it even harder to hide. He knew he was not as good as his teammates but some universities think otherwise. His parents would encourage him, support him, and vouch for him when admission letters from different colleges came in their mailbox. Luke loved his parents but when he told them that he would like to take on Parapsychology and they didn’t accept it, he accepted going to college to take on what his parents wanted. In return, his parents let him go on with paranormal investigation when and where he would like.

Ezekiel Matthew Giffin Pureblood Sixth/Sixteen Male Legilimency

Ezekiel Matthew Giffin, or rather Kiel, as he preferred to be called; was born in Tralee, Ireland but moved to Europe when he was two. He lived with his mother and his grandparents in Bristol, England, where he lost his Irish accent. He was raised without a father and the only information his mother would tell him, was that he left when he was born. No other was said. Kiel was nothing like neither his cousins nor his relatives. He was said to yield great power, however, he should be careful to which he would use it. He had tendencies to suddenly snap to a different Kiel, when prompted to. His relatives called it his evil spurts. He had done no harm to his relatives, although there was this one time, a kid named Marc bullied Kiel during primary school. One rainy day, his parents came marching on their lawn and nearly knocked down the front door as they complained that their child was scared to death by, none other than, Kiel. Felicia, Kiel’s mother, successfully defended her child but instantly knew her son may have done it purposely. Muggles wouldn’t understand the tendencies of her child. No one in her family knew such tendencies linger in their blood, no one, except if Kiel’s real father was such.

To get my fix, I’ve gone as far as...: House break in, robs stores and selling cocaine. There was this one desperate time that I disguised myself as a pharmacist and said I was the new help at this drug store. End up taking most of their stock of pills back home.

Things in the family had been going so well. It was like a perfect little family that consists of the loving parents and their two children. It was an ideal family.. but harsh reality crushed it to pieces. I was around fifteen back then, and my sister was fourteen. We were coming home from school, father being the one who picked us up. Me and my sister were left by the car because we were just picking up mom; we'll be eating dinner out. We were unaware of what was happening inside. It was not until our father came storming out of the house and into the car. We moved out of the house the following day. Turns out, mom had this other man and dad caught them right on the act.

Since then, we lived with our father. He was taking pills for his depression and soon enough, it was like he wasn't even at home. We couldn't feel his presence even though he was just in his room. It was then, around that time that I had that terrible accident that made me scared of pain and even any kind of cut on my body that would remind me of that accident. In order for me to cope with such phobias, I started to take in the same pills as our father takes. In the end, I started getting addicted to it and tried other kinds of pills that would give me more than the antidepressant drugs our father had. Barbiturates and Amphetamines had been my favorite. At times I ask for some painkillers from my sis. Ever since then, we were known as the family who likes to pop pills.

August 1st, Friday, around fifteen minutes past six in the evening; things were not going too well in the small, cold, dusty, and cramped lockup located just below the front desk of one of Craven’s police branches. It was already past six and a young man was starting to get agitated. He was due to take in his pills some time ago and without them, he’ll come back to his dim and pathetic reality; which was not what he wanted. Curled up near the bars with his face covered with his arms, he isolated himself from the fellows with him, cursing in his head why he was even in there. He was taken in four hours ago and still, his case was not yet looked up. Who was he kidding? He shouldn’t have been in the lockup in the first place. He had done nothing wrong; nothing wrong that the police knew, at least.

The sound of the lock clicking, the jail door opening, and the man calling his name, made Ivan jump from his place and followed the man to a higher up. “Lucas Ivan Parker.” The man stated, flipping over the papers in his hands. Ivan was a bit nervous, for the first time from the several times he was taken in; though he blamed the loss of effect of his pills for that. The man continued on reading, glancing at him for a few times, and it made Ivan more agitated. He was starting to sweat bullets and he knew, then man in front of him was doing it on purpose. “Ivan,” the man finally said, “You’re free to go. We’re sorry for falsely taking you in again, for…” he glanced back on the paper, “for five times since last month.” It was true, Ivan had been falsely accused and taken in for selling cocaine, when all in truth he was not selling any, or rather, was not selling them anymore. The last time he needed to sell cocaine just to maintain his need of pills were three years ago, right when he was on the start of his addiction. The police would always check his car and would not find any trace of cocaine from all their kits and techniques, and it made Ivan feel relieved. His took hold of his wrists as he was freed from the handcuffs he was bounded to. “No problem officer. Just, make this the last one. It’s an inconvenience on both our sides.” Ivan specified with a smile on his face. “Then you might want to change your car. It gives you out as a criminal, not that, I believe you aren’t.” Ivan wanted to laugh at that last comment, but he just let it slide, he knew he was out of his pills and if he pointed it out, he’ll be back at the lockup. “Can’t do nothing about it. I love my baby.” The officer in front of him laughed at him mockingly. “You know that car looked similar to the one belonging to the most wanted cocaine dealer, that’s why we’re always on your tail.” Ivan just smiled at the officer, now trying to get his wits in line. He certainly doesn’t need the police on his tail. Not now, not never. It would not only be risky for him, but for everyone in The Circle.

Stepping out of the building with his things in his hand, he looked around for where his 2004 Mazda RX-8 GT was parked. He was taken in by the police vehicle and his car was set to be tested. Spotting it by the entrance of the small impound yard, he didn't hesitate on walking to it, getting in and glancing at the dashboard, taking hold of the steering wheel, like when he first got it. “I so missed you!” He said loudly in excitement, then reaching down under his seat, taking a bottle of his pills, “but I missed you more!” He said it sweetly; opening the lid and popping a few into his system. A sigh of relief finally took hold of him, stashing his bottle under his seat once more, before powering on his phone. He started the engine and finally drove off the area. Not far away from where he came from, he pulled over on the side of the road and inspected his car for some bug and tracking device that they could have planted. Being in the streets, he had learned well enough where these were planted. It didn't take long and he found all and tossed them on the side of the road, and drove off. He just noticed his phone blinking as he halted on a stop light. Taking it, he looked over at all the messages from the people from The Circle, with nothing making sense; just that meeting by the church, that was half an hour ago. It was just this one message from an unknown number that made it all make sense. “This can’t be true, right?” He asked himself, reading the message over and over again. He was not dreaming, nor hallucinating from his pills. He just hoped he was not too late on that meeting, and worst, not the last one to come, or they’ll be suspecting something; more so when they get to know where he came from.

He was near the church and he knew nothing of what was already going on. He was also unaware who were already there. Taking his phone once again, he typed up a message to be sent to his sister, Celeste; his dearest best friend, Juliet; and his cousin, Vea.

                                                                  To: Celeste, Juliet, Vea
                                                                  From: Ivan
I know I’m late. I’m on my way. Be there in ten minutes.

Seeing the green light lit up, he was on his way, taking a few turns and straight streets before finally arriving at the church. He parked his car beside a very familiar Mitsubishi. Taking his pills from under his seat, and shoved it in his pants’ pocket, along with his phone and his wallet at the other side. Hitting the car lock as he started walking towards the group, he still couldn’t imagine how Jonathan was picked up. There was no way he was able to conclude of it. He was the most vigilant of them all. If someone would get picked up, it would certainly be one of them in The Circle, besides him. Finally being able to hear the voices of each on in the group, Ivan still had a hard time picking up from where they were going. He did come late and had no idea what they were all talking about. He was actually kind of hesitant to greet everyone, since he could see at a glance that most are on edge. He continued walking until he was already visible. “Sorry for being late. I was caught up with something and couldn't get off until recently.” He greeted, as he walked nearer to his sister, not minding the eyes that were staring at him. Heaving out a sigh, he took out his pills and took some before glancing at everyone and tried to converse. “So, what is everyone talking about?” He knew he could have just asked about Jonathan but the attention that everyone giving him would always make his pills have no effect.

ooc: Sorry for taking so long...

Time flew fast as Travis and a few fellow patients started putting up the other party decorations while the children assisted with arranging the placemats, tissues, spoons and forks on each table. Taking a little break after placing the last balloon on the last chair, Travis glanced around, trying to figure out if he missed a chair or if he had misplaced something but thankfully, everything looked perfect. The party he was preparing for their new friend was not much - since all were from his own pocket - he wanted it special and fun, at the least. When everything seemed good, Travis went back to his desk as he checked for new notes or announcements from his computer. Scanning his notes and email, he sat back on his chair as a note stated a doctor would call him up in an hour after the mail was sent. Taking out his watch, he knew the doctor would call in a few minutes and so he waited, trying to overthink what he was going to be told. In a few seconds, the contraption sitting coldly on his desk suddenly came alive with the song Questions, startling him from his deep thoughts. Picking it up, he answered with slightly clearing his throat. “How is Adolie doing?” He heard the person on the other end of the line ask after the greetings. It took a few seconds before Travis could answer. He pondered if he would mention of what happened that afternoon, even though he knew he was obligated to. “She had a panic attack while in the supplies room but she’s resting in her room now.” Hearing his report, the man on the other end reacted as how he imagined he would. He got a scolding after telling the whole story but in the end, he was praised for doing his job flawlessly.

The front door opened and Matt walked in with a bunch of plastic containers with the food for the party; setting it on top of the counter, adjacent to where Travis was sitting. “Here you go bud. All the food you need. Oh! I nearly forgot!” He exclaimed, placing another bag with another container on the counter. “Here is the special dish for the evening, Chicken Alfredo.” Travis stood and checked it out. “You didn’t specify on what kind of Chicken Alfredo, so I told the cook to make it with fettuccine. So it would be easier to eat for the children and the old people.” Travis looked at his friend with a small smile, “It’s all good. It was actually my bad. Didn’t ask which kind she wanted.” Matt just tapped his friend on the arm as he then handed him a lovely paper bag. "Here is the gift you also wanted. I needed to check out two branches of the store just to find the one you wanted." Smiling at his friend, he walked back out to get the rest of the things he had brought from his car. Placing the gift on his desk, beside his computer, Travis took the containers out of the bags and arranged them neatly on the counter. Travis couldn’t help but take in the pleasant aroma of all the food his friend had brought with him. It had not only caught his attention but it had caught the attention of most of the children and older patients. The children kept on looking at the closed transparent containers, licking their lips as they admire the tasty dinner they would be feasting in a little while. “Say Travis!” A patient named Kevin called, as he walked out of his room. Kevin was another patient suffering the same fate as Adolie. He was brought in the Hospice seven months ago and still no heart. “From all the parties you had prepped, this is the best of them all.” Snickering as he walked past the nurse. “It’s all the same Kevin.” The nurse answered, shaking his head. “That’s what you think.” He answered as he glanced on the food lined on the counter. “Do you have a thing for this girl?”

One of the children came forward and confronted Kevin with his thoughtless behavior. Kevin, being sort of a bully, threatened the kid to nearly crying but Travis stepped in between just in time. “Stop it Kevin. You don’t treat children like that.” The older boy just smirked at the nurse and walked his way back to his room. Just before he closed his door, Travis’ voice echoed, “When you’re done with that kind of behavior, you can come out and eat”, and with that, Kevin closed his door. Travis tended to the emotional distress of the child behind him and he soothed him just how his mother had always done to him. Watching as the kid walked back to his friends, Travis heaved a sigh, wishing Kevin understood that he was talking to a mere child. Children are very open-minded, very honest, humble and teachable. A slight negative approach to them would have a negative thorn in their heart, making it harder to pull out as they grow older. A loose balloon floated past Travis and it caught his attention. Staring at it, he found his smaller self, smirking at him while its shadow behind was frowning; as if in the verge of tears. Kevin reminded him of himself when he was a kid. An unexpected occurrence was the only factor for a sudden emotional relapse - slowly, little by little, consuming the heart that was once strong. The difference between Kevin and himself was that, he had his mother to relieve him of the pain of losing his beloved brother, while Kevin had no one but his ignorant father and his recently deceased grandmother. The loss of the only person who cared for him and the burden of his own health had consumed him. His father once said before leaving him in the hospice, “Just stay here and wait for your last breath. I could care less. I don’t need another person to take care of. You are no use to me, even if you got better.” He wanted a heart so he could live longer. He wanted it, not needed it. The ring of selfishness resonated inside Travis that he knew the kid was afraid of dying; afraid of not being able to surpass his father and prove that he could stand on his own two feet.

Snapping out of his thoughts once again, he reached out for the balloon and walked to the chair it flew away from; making sure it wouldn’t fly away again. A familiar voice greeted him as he finished tying the balloon on the chair. Seeing Adolie in front of him made him speechless. His silence drew more as he felt her finger touch the part of his head where he foolishly bumped on a frame and bled. The concern she was putting on him at the moment suddenly and unknowingly, made his heart pace faster. He just stared at her with nothing but silence as an answer to her questions. He felt his palms started to sweat and slowly found it hard to breathe. Feelings that was unknown to him and only as she withdrew her hand that he found it easier to think and so he finally answered. “Ah.. Yeah. I had it iced earlier. It hasn’t bothered me for a while now.” Letting out a smile that he deemed not too awkward, he returned her question, “How are you feeling?” He did not want to add another question, not wanting her to really go back to what she had experienced earlier, as he wanted her to enjoy the night.

ooc: Sorry it took so long. Had a setback on writing... D; I hope this is good enough.

xxx The Protector Twenty-three The Whisperer Ability to enstill thoughts/images in people's minds

          Devoted { φ } Reliable { φ } Selfless { φ } Protective { φ } Stubborn

The Protector doesn't have much recollection of his life. Actually, he doesn't have much recollection of anything besides The Whisperer. He's been attached to her since her very early childhood. As she grew older before him, his role toward her changed. When he first became a part of her life, The Protector played more as a fatherly figure toward the young girl. As she grew he became more of a companion, a brother-like figure. Now as The Whisperer is nearing the same age, their relationship has grown into so much more and he's taken it upon himself to protect her from the not-so-friendly spirits she may cross in her ghost whispering adventures.

Lost.. What a very lonely word, is it not? My life can be described by such a word. I have no recollection of my past life and anything within it. I couldn't even remember how I died. The only thing I could remember was my name and age, nothing else. I would have been lost for the rest of my undead life, if not only for this little girl I had seen playing in her room one night, The Whisperer. She was still a small child and for some unknown reason, the feeling of need to watch over her burned within me. Ever since then, I was always with her. May it be when she's out doing her usual selfless acts, getting her out of danger, or even when she's sleeping soundlessly in bed. I swore to protect her and I will always be there for her. Although recently, it has been hard to treat her like the little kid I used to watch over. She is nearing my age and she has grown up to be such a beautiful woman, and she usually takes my breathe away. Could it be that I am falling for her..?

Let me tell you about myself
It has never been too late to realize the true personality of the second in command in the Chikyu gang. Kyoya, or he'd rather be called, Kyo, has always been quiet and reserved. Although he is such, most of the time, everyone knew how charismatic he had always been. He pars with the Leader's charisma and strength, but him being the 'second' meant he still lacks a bit of skill; but just a tiny bit. He usually likes to be alone and the closest everyone could see him with another member, would always be with the Leader or the Strategist. Behind that quiet and reserved personality of his, there has always been another lurking behind the shadows. The complete opposite of the his normal self; the charming, kind and smooth-talking Kyo. That part of him only comes out when needed be.

                  You wouldn't have known
Kyoya, being the eldest of four children, had always been told to show responsibility and good image for his little brothers to follow after. His mother, a sweet and famous pianist has always looked after him and encouraged him to do well on this. His father, a selfish and nearly broke gambler, has always done the opposite of his mother. Kyo would always have this different feelings of anger towards his father. However, one tragic night changed his entire life and his feelings for his father. One quiet yet drizzling night, Kyo woke up as his youngest sister started crying from the adjacent room. He dragged himself to the girl's room, rubbing his eyes as he opened the door, and as he swung open the door, he stood there, rooted to his place as he stumbled upon the still and bloody bodies of his sister and his mother. The crying of the youngest hasn't ceased, but a sudden chuckle and a swish that echoed throughout the room, silenced the crying child. Kyo couldn't forget the look on his father's face as he faced him with a sly grin.

Since that day when they both lost their beloved mother and sisters, Kyo learned to take care of himself and his brother, even though they were taken in by their grandfather. Even with the kind heart of their grandparents, his cheerful and open personality changed into what people knew as him; the cold, silent and the loner. To be truthful, he still has his younger brother, but they hardly get to see each other for his brother decided to go to another school.

                  Try it, I dare you.
xxxxxWeapon: He learned how to us the Tonfa with the help of his grandfather. Since he was taught in a very young age, he learned how to master it fully but he always pushed himself to learn more, just to appease his longing for strength to stand alone.
xxxxxStrengths: Aside from strength, Kyo has a keen sense of his surroundings and could feel if someone is near or if something is wrong.
xxxxxWeaknesses: He is easy to take on a challenge and he usually gets angry if someone insults the gang or any of its members.

There was nothing so tempting as to think and reminisce the past and remember all the good and bad times that happened. Closing ones eyes, one usually sees a set of pictures rolling on a film; one by one revealing the times one has smiled, laughed, cried and all the other emotions that made an impact in ones life. Reminiscing memories has always been the one thing that could either make one stronger or weaker. As soon as those clips had finished rolling, one could open their eyes and look at his life with a new perspective. Everyone has been given the gift of memories, but there was one who had been deprived of it ever since his fateful day of death.

Slowly opening his eyes, the suns rays glimmered through the uncovered ends of the window, almost blinding him. Sean’s frustration on wanting to know his past had grown overtime and he would have been forever a lost soul wondering the world with the living. He had no recollection of who he was when he was still alive. No memories whatsoever; only his name and age. He never knew if he had any family. He never knew if he had loved someone. And he never knew how he died. His frustration slowly consumed him but on one fateful day, he was led to this house that he swore was very familiar. And there, minding her own business, playing with her dolls was a little girl. He knew not if she had taken notice of him but his curiosity over her grew the longer he stayed in the room. He looked around, glancing at everything that could at least make him remember something, if ever it was possible. He glanced around and a picture on a frame at the other end of the room caught his attention. He paced slowly, not wanting to scare the little girl. He was near the picture when a small voice greeted him. As he turned around, the little girl was looking at him. She was not afraid nor was she screaming. “I’m Haley. What’s your name?” She introduced with a sweet smile on her face. Sean was rooted on where he stood, trying to contemplate on what to do. It was like the little girl knew what was going on in his head as she stepped forward, smiling more to him. “Don’t be shy. I’m a good girl. My grandmother would always tell me that. I won’t hurt you.” She nodded with still her sweet and innocent smile plastered on her face. “I’m Sean…” He finally answered, easing the tensing of his muscles. "It's nice to meet you Sean. Let's be friends." Sean stared at the little girl as he felt his cheeks starting to warm up from the kindness of the little girl. At that point in time, Sean knew he was in for a long lasting... relationship.

                                                  --

Sitting at the couch adjacent to the television set, Sean opened his eyes as the familiar voice echoed throughout the apartment. Glancing at the direction the voice came from, Sean watched as Haley’s twin brother, Michael, and the girl who had attached herself to him, Unity, looked over the mail that came today; on a Sunday. Oddly enough, there were supposed to be no mails during Sundays, and this made Sean a bit curious and worried. It didn’t take long for Haley to finally pop out with her usual energy. A smile surfaced at the edge of his lips as he locked his gaze on her; trying to keep quiet as the commotion about the mysterious mail continued. For the past years that he had no memory and nothing to reminisce about, Haley had filled that part of him, and his longing for knowing his past was not as how important this girl is now to him. No, she’s hardly a girl anymore. She has grown into such a lady that it became harder for him to treat her as how he did when she was still a child. More so, she has been having this different effect on him recently and he couldn’t quite grasp what it was. He had been pondering about it but the only conclusion he could come up with was… was he falling for her?

Shaking his thoughts away as he saw Michael handed over an envelope to Haley. Sean was still a bit curious about the letter. Who was it from and what do they want? Standing up from his comfortable position on the couch, he tucked his hands in is pants pockets and walked towards Haley. He stopped behind her as he waited for her to open her mail. If he were alive, he would take the letter from her and read it first hand, but, to his disappointment, he wasn’t. He glanced back to Michael and Unity, trying to observe their response upon reading the letter, but still, he could not come up with an exact reaction. Glancing back at the mail with Haley’s name on it, a sudden feeling came to him that started to bother him. He had no idea why he suddenly felt bothered by it but the penmanship had something to do with it. It looked familiar but he couldn’t point out when he had seen it. He had encountered so many writing throughout the time he had stayed with Haley but none of those were a fit to this one. He concluded it must have been from his forgotten past, and so without thinking, he accidentally said his thoughts out loud, “Where could have I seen that…”

The start of classes had always been the same at Kodoku and things had yet to unfold. Things were still quiet and peaceful without any usual ruckus. The peacefulness had always been solitude for the Second of Chikyu. Laying on the library’s rooftop with his book covering his face, Kyoya had found quick slumber. He had arrived the day before and it was not because of his enthusiasm for the new school year. No. With only his brother left from his initial family, he always needed to make sure he was safe. With the different environment in Kodoku, Kyo decided to enter his brother, Daichi, to a different middle school rather than in Kodoku. Kyo wanted him to live a happy and normal life. So with the ordeal to seclude his brother from the intense and unique Kodoku, he needed to get send him off each time school starts and take him home during breaks. Although he was a bit protective of his younger brother, he had always reminded himself that he was also educated on using the tonfa, so he shouldn’t be too worried about him.

The chirping of the bird that decided to stop over, the gush of cold-warm wind, and the light tapping of shoes on the cement woke up the sleeping male. “Good morning Sir Kyo!” Voices echoed, greeting him from just a few feet. Pulling his book from his face as he sat up, he caught a glance of the members of Chikyu that were very much eager to spend the new school year with him. “You guys are so noisy…” He said as he returned their greeting with a slight glare. If there was anything he did not want his underlings to do, was to disturb him from his quiet time, more so, his slumber. Anyone who does will get their privileges cut off for a whole week, plus, a beating from him. However, it was the first day and because of the no fighting rule during the first day, he dismissed the felon the three boys did. Sighing as he stood up, brushing the dirt that stained the side of his arm sleeve, Kyo walked towards the three and let out a smile. It was more like a grin since Chikyu had started growing already at the first day. “Morning to the three of you. Now one of you should take this book of mine to my room.” He started, handing out the book he held in his hand, “And you better remember to place it on my desk. None of you would want to mess with my stuff.” He continued as a sly grin formed on his lips. It was just a tease for new members so they would get intimidated at the very first day and would help weed the strong from the weak. One of the three took his book and carefully made his way down the stairwell.

Looking over at the two that were left, he placed both his hands in his pants’ pocket, and walked past the two. With no order from him, he wanted to test them if they would follow him around, even if he had not said anything. He was already near the stairs and still, the two had not moved an inch from where they stood. Shaking his head, he looked back at them with a glare that suddenly turned into a grin. It was one of his playful looks and one that given the sign that he was unpleased. He made his way down and started walking at the school grounds, making his way to the dorms. He ignored most of those that greeted him, may them be unbranded students or one of his own. He was just like that. He wouldn’t talk until he needed to. However, when he did talk, expect to have a gracious and charming chat, just don’t expect to get anything good afterwards.

Finally reaching the dorms, he was quite sure that the Don, Fio, had already arrived. If it was not with how many Chikyu members were there, it was her voice that gave out her location. Who wouldn’t be sensitive and too familiar with her voice when you share the same room? Entering the courtyard, Kyo spotted in an instant on where she was. Apparently, she was talking with Yuuki, Vera and one of the unbranded with a lost cause, Hiro. Walking past members of the other gangs had no effect on him whatsoever. It didn’t threaten him, nor did it make him uncomfortable.

Finally reaching the Don’s location, he stood behind her, wrapped his one arm around her waist, pulling her slightly toward him as he rested his chin on her shoulder. “Good morning Fio.” He greeted her as how he usually does at the start of the school year. He then turned to the three, grinning slightly, “What a fine weather we are having. So tell me, what has Fio made the little guy here hyped up?” He was pointing out on Hiro’s commotion as he was still walking towards them a few seconds ago. He knew exactly what she had said but he wanted to tease the ‘hero’ a bit.

Location: From the Library's Roof then in the Dorm Courtyard
Company: Self → Fio, Vera, Yuuki and Hiro
                                Thoughts: "What a lovely weather..."

OutOfCopper: Hope my first post is good enough. I’m distracted with school work so it might not be as good. I will fix the layout later when I get back home. I just wanted to post this now.

Sitting on the chair, unmoved since he sat, Zeke was still focused on finding out his partner’s name and had closed himself from his surroundings, unaware that the girl had finally awaken and confused. Her movement had not caught his attention and it was only when she first spoken that he removed his hand on his face and looked at her. Seeing her confused eyes and her soft voice, he could understand how she was feeling, however, comparing him to an angel, he deeply believed he would not be one even when he died. He let out a small smirk; considering the conclusion that he could never be an angel as he walked to her, “I don’t think angel is-” His voice was halted by her sudden questions; one after the other. Watching her as she showed her confusion and her panic, Zeke tried to answer them but her constant questioning and the difficulty of each one to explain was weighing down on him. In truth, if the situation was controlled in a way that she was briefed with what was happening and what was supposed to happen, similar to how he was told before he even woke up to line up back at the Accident Branch; he would have answered her every question quickly. On the other hand, she was not and because of the emotions behind each question, it was harder to answer without making them more worried and panicked as how they already were.

Zeke was silent. He knew not on how to tell her everything in just one brief conversation. Her sobbing only made it heavier on him since he had no idea how to make her feel better. Glancing at the parcel bag he had, he remembered how his mother would take him in her arms in an embrace, leaning close to him as she whispered soothing words in his ear and it always made him feel better. Hesitating a little, he stepped closer to her, lending her his arms as he gently wrapped them around her, letting her cry onto him. “It’s going to be okay.” He gently said, before taking a slight pause, unable to think of what to say next. He caught a glimpse of the clock and it was nearly time for them to leave and make their way to the train station as the start of their long journey. He would not want for them to miss the first train or they would wait another week before the next one comes. Pulling away from her slightly, he managed to let out a small smile as he looked at her, “Hey… I know you have a lot of questions and believe me, I would love to answer them all here, now, but I’m sorry to say it has to wait.” He moved his hands to her arms, rubbing lightly to calm her more as he tried to explain his way to getting her to their first destination. “We need to catch the first train out of here and it will be leaving in fifteen minutes. So we need to hurry.” He let go of her and made his way to the door, stopping a few feet away to look back at the girl. “I’ll explain to you everything once we get settled in the train. We’ll have a lot of time to talk by then.”

Opening the door, he made sure she was following him as he made his way out of the building and into the streets, evading the ongoing traffic as he nearly started to run. They only had a few minutes before the train leaves and it would not be a good thing if they would need to wait for the next one. As the train station came to view, Zeke stopped slightly, waiting on his partner to catch up. “Come on now, we can still make it.” He motioned for her to hurry up and once she was already beside him, he moved behind her and pushed her up the walk and to the platform. The train was already there and there were only a few more minutes to pass the conductor and into the train. The train conductor halted them, opened his palm and asked for their ticket, “Tickets please”. In a hurry, Zeke opened the parcel bag and pulled out two train tickets, “Here”. He gave them to the conductor and they were allowed to get in. Once in, Zeke heaved a sigh of relief, looking over at the carriages surrounding them just to find an empty one where they could settle and talk.

After a few attempts, he finally found an empty one and he thought they were lucky to find one at all. The train seemed to be jam-packed for some unknown reason or maybe spirits from the city before them, making their way to their first destination as well. Locking the door after the girl came in; Zeke sat adjacent to her and placed the parcel bag beside him. “That was close.” He commented before heaving out another sigh, glancing back at the girl, quickly remembering her questions and he promised to answer them once they were in the train. He was about to get her attention but her name was still lost in his mind. He cleared his throat in an attempt to make her look at him, “Uhm…” He started as he fixed himself on his seat. “As promised, I will answer all your questions here but before that, let me introduce myself. I clearly forgot to do so earlier.” He flashed a soft smile, “I’m Zeke and I sure hope I did not scare you earlier, or make you uncomfortable.” He was referring to the embrace that people don’t normally give to strangers. His smile faded as he recalled about it but brought it up again as soon as he looked back at her, “I just.. don't like seeing girls cry." He softly said before leaning back on the backrest, "So anyway, what question would you want me to answer first?” He asked as he tried to change the subject and to not get himself embarrassed because of his act.
