Jin.noble!
Good day. I am Jin Park but please call me Jin. I was born and lived with a simple family of four in Seoul, South Korea. I was raised with my younger sister in a small apartment. Even though we lived in a small place, we were very happy and contented of what we had. Years passed, I started attending middle school while my sister was still in pre-school and so I was very protective of her. I was grateful that her school was just a block away and I could walk there to get her. It was not a long walk and usually, our Mom would be waiting at the parking lot for us. It was just my task to get my sister. Even though I was still small myself, being the oldest, I was determined that I should protect my younger sister but there was this one time that changed our whole lives.
I was walking to my sister’s school to pick her up and I was already a few buildings away when and ambulance and a fire truck came passing by in great haste. I wondered where it would go and what happened. I dismissed the topic since I knew I could catch it from the evening news tonight, and so I continued my walk with the ambulance and fire truck still in view. I saw both vehicles turn at some point but little did I know they were heading straight to my sister’s school. I wouldn’t have known if the people near the area didn’t spread the news. Upon hearing it from the adults gossiping beside me, my heart pounded faster and faster as I sprinted to the nearby school. When I arrived, I saw the flames getting smaller and smaller by the minute with the help of the firefighters but that didn’t stop my fear of my sister’s safety. A few meters from where I stood, I saw a pack of children with some teachers getting into a safe distance from the school. With the feeling of my sister was in danger, I ran towards them and asked the teachers about my sister. It was then I learned she was still inside the building.
In panic and agony of the fear of her in danger, a sudden burst of more flames from the building gave me the careless decision to run toward the building. Without thinking of another way to come in or to what danger I may be putting myself in, I ran to the entrance where the firefighters had recently put out the flames and entered the building. I had this feeling she was near the source of the fire and the fear of her dead shot me to more distress. I called her name again and again but there was no answer. It was getting hotter and hotter that I was unable to breathe sufficient oxygen that caused me to cough along the way. Nearing the place I presumed where the fire started, I collapsed with nothing more than a few more oxygen before I pass out. But because I wanted to see my sister, I forced myself to stand and walked a few more meters before seeing this small figure on the center of a room. With the little strength, I walked to the girl and let myself collapse beside it. I tried to wake her up but she wouldn’t move. I wanted to carry her but because of my incapability at the moment I just sat there until there was this dark figure at the other end of the room. It looked like a man, an adult but he was different, there were flames coming out of his hands and I didn’t know what to do when he looked at me. After that, I couldn’t remember anything.
When I woke up a day after, my dad screamed hysterically at me while my mom was sitting on a corner, crying. My dad told me what the hell I was thinking; barging in a building covered in flames. He said it was a good thing that one of the firefighters went after me and that the school was small. I could have died like my sister. I was shocked and that was when I learned she died. I went more silent as tears fell from my eyes when I finally learned I was too late. My dad backed away and sat himself on a chair nearby also in the verge of crying. My mom went close to me then hugged me as tight as she could. She told me it was a miracle that I had survived without burning myself. She even said my sister was not harmed with the flames. It was like something prevented the flames to come to us.
After being released from the hospital and burying my sister, I knew the family was not as how we were before. We had silent moments at dinner and when a valuable of my sister was seen in the house. That is when my parents realized the house gives us sad memories and to start a new slate, we moved. Not only out of the house but out of the country. I continued attending middle school in a different school and a different environment. When I finished middle school, and exactly the evening of my graduation day, my dad led me to a deep discussion of a family history that could have explained the phenomenon that we were unharmed with the flames. And so, here I am, once a normal person or so I thought I was, and now, a grandson to continue the family legacy as masters of the powers, Power Augmentation and Innate Capability.

Before the tragic thing that happened back in Korea, I was said to be a joyful and happy person. I was said to be as welcoming and was good in taking the first step in friendship but as I thought and as I had observed, I had changed. I had been silent and wouldn’t start any conversation. I just let people come and talk but it usually doesn’t last long since I always bring it to a dead end. Either I give an excuse that I needed to go somewhere or simply go to the comfort room. My Mom also told me I was not as happy as I was before. I had stopped myself from laughing and even smiling. I guess the one person that gave me the smile and joy I had had already went her own way. But along the way, even though I was silent and was distant, when it comes to people getting bullied, I will protect them even though I’m smaller. Even people getting attacked by snatchers that were near me, I would always try to get their things back. I don’t know how I do it but I survived all those successful attempts with small bruises along the way. Because of the loss of my sister, I had been more protective of people I know and been attentive of what was happening around since the fear of someone dying had become my weakness.

School was finished for the day and the busy young male just came home two hours ago. His name was Jake and he was known as the most popular guy in school; more so, he is a player. He was not only popular with the ladies, he was also rich. He grew up in a wealthy family but likes to clothe simple. He has a car and every technology every person would love to have; he has a big house and everything, but he would always dress up in his jeans, sneakers and shirt. No one would ever wonder he was rich. It is the very time people would know is when they come to his house. Although he is rich kid and a player, he would still focus on his studies. He had just finished his papers and as a stress reliever, he pressed the PS button on one of his PS3 controller’s and the contraption opened. He took the remote and opened his 32” LED TV. He had all these stuff but it was all gifts from his parents. His parents were always overseas and would come back with different gifts, as compensation while they are gone. Basically, Jake grew up with his parents until he was around ten. From then on, he was raised by his tutors, maids and butlers. That was when he was taught some simple living. Just so that his parents won’t become depressed if he didn’t accept the gifts, he instead accepts it.
He waited for his game to load. He was into zombie carnage at the time being, so he picked Call of Duty: Black Ops. While waiting for his friend Matthew to come online and play with him, his phone suddenly vibrated beside him.
From: Matthew
To: Jake
“Hey! Don’t forget about the thing we talked about this afternoon!”
Jake squinted, as if trying to remember the thing they talked about this afternoon. ‘Oh yeah! The bet and the girl who owns the PSP was gonna come any minute now.’ He thought as he heaved a sigh. ‘Why did I even bother going through this?’ He looked at his watch then got up and walked to his bathroom. He took off his clothes to take a shower. He wouldn’t want the girl to come without him being prepared.
While he was in the shower, a knock on the front door was heard and one of the family’s trusty butler, Troy, opened the door. He greeted the girl and asked if he could help her, but before he could get an answer, he remembered what his master Jake’s friend; let him see this morning before they left for school. He looked at the girl closely and when he was sure she was the girl in the picture, he let him in without any other word. “Please come in Miss Vivian. Master Jake is waiting for you.” He closed the door when the girl came in. “He is in his room at the moment. I’ll lead you to him.” Without further ado, Troy led her to the second floor of the house and to Jake’s room. He opened the door and let Vivian in. “We will be ready with dinner soon. Please make yourself at home.” He then closed the door and went to check on the food.
Jake heard his door open as he was already drying himself. He put on his underwear, boxers then his pants. He forgot to get his shirt from his dresser. He figured the one who just came in was Troy so he didn’t hesitate to go out, top-less.

It was a silent afternoon in the McConnery household. The hallways were empty, the dogs were in their afternoon slumber, the helpers were busy cleaning the masters’ bedroom, and the butler was busy reading the newspaper he had bought from the nearby stand. It was not highly unusual for the house to be that quiet, since everyone in the family were always busy and would leave when the sun rises. It was quiet for another thirty minutes until the front door opened; revealing a fatigued and sweating young man. He shuffled for a bit to unhook his bag from himself and leave it on the floor beside the door which he slowly pushed shut. He pulled on his towel, hanging on his right shoulder, before wiping his face. He wiped along his forehead, then to his sweaty hands and arms. "How did soccer practice go, Luke?" the butler, who was in his early forties, greeted while holding a glass of pineapple juice for the young lad. “Oh.” Luke started as he took the glass on his hand while the butler took the used towel. “It was the usual, I guess. Coach was pretty intense with the new recruits so we had more of a slack from his everyday speeches.” He took a drink from his glass before thanking Hughes, their butler.
Taking a glance from his watch, it was already half past six and he realizes he needed to prepare for the big party for the lacrosse captain, Tatum. He found himself walking up to his room and once inside, he placed his watch, wallet, phone and his half-filled glass of pineapple juice on his desk before walking towards his very own bathroom. After an hour and a half of freshening up, picking of clothes and fixing everything to be perfect, he lounged himself on the black and white sofa on the living room to watch some recap news from soccer matches that day. It was to actually kill time since the party is still an hour away.
He was watching intensely on the 40” LED TV in front of him when he drifted into thinking. He firstly thought of the upcoming party for Tatum, his best friend. His so-called best friend suddenly left without saying anything to him. He never contacted him or even left him a single email of his plans. Oh how he waited for the day he would resurface again so he can give him what he deserves, and now that day has come. Knowing himself, he wouldn’t throw him a punch or a kick but he would just ask for the whole story. He then thought of Bonnie, Tatum’s girl. He felt bad for her ever since Tatum suddenly disappeared and even she had no clue where he went. Luke knew it tore her apart and she was starting to get better when all of a sudden, his best friend came back. How convenient.
He closed his eyes and let himself drift more into his thoughts. In a short glimpse in the darkness, a familiar face suddenly emerged and he felt his heart race, his hands started to warm up and he caught himself smiling. The gorgeous girl he was staring at was no other than Stasia, or for him, Stace. He remembered how warm it is when she was around. He remembered her beautiful smile which would make him stay alive for a night without her. He knew he wanted to see her badly. He hadn’t seen her for days. The last time he saw her was when he parked his car in front of their favourite coffee shop and once he saw her with her friends, he knew he can’t just walk in and let her see him. He knew fairly well that she was angry at him. Who could blame her when he was the one who made a mistake? A huge mistake.
He opened his eyes and leaned forward to take his phone from the nearby coffee table. He picked it up and went to create a new message. He started typing but when he finished one, he suddenly erases everything and starts over. He wanted to tell her he couldn’t wait to see her in the party but his guilt made it unsuccessful to send the message. In the end, he placed his phone beside him when suddenly a familiar sound echoed. He knew the too familiar sound to not ignore it. It was from Stasia and he knew it was his ticket to speaking with her again.
To: Stace
From: Luke
I’ll definitely be there.
I’m really sorry babe. I hope we come into terms tonight.
I don’t want to be away from you anymore.
And don’t worry, I will never forget that.
I hope you hadn’t forgotten that I also love you.<3
I really do.
With that message as a wakeup call, he quickly stood up, fixed his vest, his pants and dusted his shoes before walking towards his Chevrolet Corvette Convertible and driving off towards Tilt. He parked his car upfront where the valet is. He left his keys and walked towards the entrance. There was no needing of any pass since they were highly respected in Tilt, more so, it was their favourite hotspot. He was about to be escorted to the VIP area when he saw someone familiar just a few feet away from him. He signalled on to the person waiting for him that he could leave and attend to his job. He looked around and saw no one has yet realized who was in front of him. It was Tatum and even though it has been too long, he knew it was him. He walked behind him and said an unusual greeting, “You look lost there.” He said loudly as for the other to hear. It has been long since he last saw him. He felt a little disappointed that Tatum didn’t tell him of his plans but he was also feeling excited on meeting his long lost best friend.

History ↘↘
XXXXXXXX Well hello! My name is Luke. Luke Johan Roux. As you may have seen the obvious, I am not a local American citizen. Nope. Well, that was before my mom left my dad just fifteen years ago. I was born and raised – until I was seven – in France. I had just started my new school year as a Cours Elementaire 1st year student at the International School of Paris, when the decision of my parents to have a divorce was set to stone. As a kid, I was not told of the actual situation and was just told that we were going to have a trip to my mom’s sister and dad couldn’t come because of work. My mom was an English professor, so I was educated with great English, even though it is my second language. My dad was a famous Neurologist and Surgeon. He was in the highlight of his career and we were living a magnificent life. But because of this, he spent less of his time at home. I never really get to know him that much. Both my parents seem to have a fight every night. My father was actually a kind man. Even when the divorce was approved, and me and my mom had fled to my aunt in this city, he gave two-thirds of his current money in the bank and gave it to us. That is why when we got to this city, we weren’t really in need of much money and we got a comfortable place to stay for years. Even though he gave most of his money to us, he will still send money every year. He would even send a ticket for me and my mom to visit him during the holidays. Although my parents were divorced, it didn’t feel like I was raised by a single parent.
High school was good. It actually went by like a breeze. Of course, other than being bullied and even teased at times, all ended well. I joined the soccer team of the school during my stay in senior high and it made me bulk up and grow. I was a mere bullied kid during junior high and then I finally found my passion for soccer during my last years of high school. When I finally graduated high school, my dad offered to take me in, at least, after I graduate from the university he had picked. Before, I had decided to take an offer in on of Paris’ university that offered me to have a soccer scholarship, but what my father planned for me was something I couldn’t accept. When I arrived at his doorstep at Paris, he gave me gifts. These were not mere gifts to get me settled back in Paris, but the gifts were in preparation for Medical school. He wanted me to become a Neuro Surgeon like himself. He wanted me to take his own steps and would eventually turn over his office to none other than me. I guess it was because I was an only child, and it was natural for him to find someone who would follow his footsteps. I was truly disappointed that my dad would eventually force what he had liked on me. It never happened before and this was the very first time we had a fight about it. I wanted to take on the soccer scholarship but now that this had happened, I was forced to take on Medical school.
I put up with my father’s wishes and now, I had just finished my last year for the second cycle of medical studies. I never would have thought that I would reach this far. It is inevitable that the next cycle would make me much busier; which is why my dad let me come back home to my mom just like every Christmas break, although this summer might be the last one that would not make me think of possible circumstances that I may need to book a flight back to France after just settling down for a week or two of vacation. I wonder what this summer vacation has planned for me. I wonder if I would be able to see familiar faces and of course, my friends. I wonder if they would like to play soccer. I still play soccer with my friends back in Paris but we play to get the stress out of our body and head. We mostly play at night so maybe that was when I grew fond of strolling out at night.

It was four in the morning in Paris. The air was cold and the roads were still wet from the drizzle that came half an hour ago. There were not too many people walking around the streets but there were already a few whom are busy with their work. Some were taking their morning stroll and some were plainly walking home from the night shift. The city was still coming to its wake but the son of the well-known Neurologist was already waiting for the taxicab his father had rented for the morning. He just finished his second cycle of his Medical Studies a week ago and he was granted a break to visit his mother back in the hospitable, simple and comforting town away from the city. No, the town was not in Europe or in the outskirts of Paris. It was located farther and the need to pass wide waters was necessary. A slight drizzle of rain greeted Luke when he walked out of the front door and towards the taxi. “Luke!” A voice halted him and he looked back, seeing his father by the doorsteps. “Say hello to your mother for me.” He gave Luke a last wave and Luke answered with a quick smile. “I will father. Do not drink too much when I’m not around. No one’s going to help you through the next morning.” His father always felt lonely when no one was around him. Today was the start of the school holidays and he knew more people will come by to his clinic. He just wanted to remind him of the risk if he drank too much and he was already getting old for it.
He gave his father another quick look before getting in his ride. The taxi driver looked at him and quickly pulled the front of his hat down in an attempt of a greeting. He looked back up front, push down the hand brake and let the car move. “What a cold morning we have today.” Luke smiled at the driver through the rearview mirror. “Indeed we have.” He answered back and the man smiled. The drive to Orly International Airport was just a few minutes away but he kept himself occupied. He took out his passport and his online ticket reservation. He was taking the first flight from Paris at six in the morning. He didn’t want to be late for it so he decided to leave before the sun was up. He checked for his wallet; just to be sure he had everything he needed. He was traveling lite without any luggage; just his trusty ol’ backpack that his mom gave him before he left for Paris, four years ago. It only carried his passport, his wallet, his smart phone, his tablet, a notebook from his classes and three clothing that were still in its packaging. Ever since he was in his second year of Medical School, he needed to change his wardrobe into a semi-formal to formal clothing. It was a must in his class to wear proper clothing under the white coat. He bought a pair to bring back to the old town and a new dress for his mother.
The taxi stopped and he glanced to his side, only to see that they had already arrived at the airport. He gave the driver his fare and gave him a generous tip. He thanked him as he was coming past the opened door. He walked inside and he was still an hour and a half early. He didn’t waste any time and checked himself in his destined flight. When all of that was done, he decided to spend his waiting time at a nearby coffee shop. He ordered warm chocolate and two pieces of French toast and took a seat in a dim but lit area of the shop. He had nothing to do so he decided to delete all the appointments and saved schedule in his smartphone’s calendar. He was nearly finished with his last French toast and his half-full hot chocolate when he heard a couple fighting a few feet away.
He glanced at them and they looked like they were in their early thirties and they had a child with them. He assessed they didn’t seem to be from around here just by looking at their clothes. ‘Poor child, at a very young age, she had been seeing her parents quarrel.’ He shook his head as he looked back at his phone. He finally placed his phone on his pocket, fixed his trash on the tray and left the shop. He didn’t glance back at the couple and he was on his way to the gates when sudden shouts of help came echoing from behind. He looked back and people were gathering at the spot where the couple was fighting, but amongst them, he could barely see the child’s body lying on the ground. It gave him the rush of adrenaline as he sprinted his way towards the crowd and forced himself through. The couple was just kneeling beside their child.
Luke walked in haste towards them and checked the girl’s vital signs. Her heart was beating fast but in closer inspection, Luke recognized her difficulty in breathing and rapid swelling of her whole body. He had a hunch of what is the problem but he needed to know for sure; was she allergic to something. He quickly asked the father to get the nearby help from the medical assistance office; just a few meters away from them. He then asked the mother if the girl was allergic to anything and she said nuts. The girl on the floor was holding a snack that contained nuts. It was packaged with French writing and the parents didn’t notice its contents. She was experiencing anaphylactic shock and he knew one thing that could help her at the meantime. He asked the mother for the kids’ EpiPen, assuming they have one with them. Good thing they did and he took it out of its bottle, taken out the safety screw before pushing the needle in the middle of the girl’s upper (outer) thigh. After the shot was done, the medical team came and they took it from there. The medical team asked him of his background and what he had done. They were thankful for the quick response he had done or the child would have died.
He didn’t talk to the parents anymore since he just realized he was already 10 minutes late to boarding. He rushed to his gate and as he was there, he gave them his boarding pass but was told that someone already took his seat. The officer told him that he should have gone earlier. He cursed beneath his breath but he couldn’t do anything. He was the one late. He didn’t realize that the father of the child he had saved was beside him. When the man finally saw him, and knew he was late because of them, he told the officer that he could take one of their seats for they couldn’t fly for now. Luke thanked the man but the man told him he had done more and this was just a small thank you, at least, for now. The man asked for Luke’s number and before he knew it, he was already flying back home to his mother. The flight took 7 hours long and he took a bus from the airport to the town that he called home. He walked his way towards their front porch. He was exhausted and he wanted to take at least a few hours of sleep. As he was about to open the door with his own keys, he noticed a note taped on the door. It was from his mother and she mentioned some party tonight. He didn’t feel like going but because it was his first day back at home, he will. He went back to his old room and he knew his mother cleaned it just before he arrived. As usual though, his mother was nowhere to be seen. ‘Maybe she went shopping for groceries.’ He thought as he slowly dropped his bag beside his bed. He placed an alarm two hours before the party so he would be ready. For now, he wanted sleep. He left Paris ten minutes past six in the morning and he arrived back here at home at around half past seven in the morning.

Intro post for One x One via PM.
There was once the tale of three fragments of life after death; Heaven, Purgatory and Hell. Believers of the Almighty God and walked in his teachings always ascend to Heaven. All those who oppose him and live in the teachings of evil, always descend to Hell. All that is left is Purgatory. Some believers say that Purgatory is a place where people can repent on their sins and is still possible to be forgiven and ascend to Heaven. Some say it entails a life long journey to repent on their sins and would only end when they had reached the end. Some say it doesn’t even exist. Those were the three fragments of life after death, but what about the tale of the spirit world? Is the Spirit world the same as Purgatory? The spirit world, as believers explain, coincides with the real world. Is the spirit world Purgatory? What if people had met an accident and are left in comatose? What happens while they are in deep slumber? Where do they go? They are not dead and they seem half-alive. So what does happen when one is in comatose?
… It has always been the question that lingers in everyone’s mind …
It was dark at the hallways of the Accident Branch which was located beside each hospital of the city. The Accident Branch is not real to the real world. No human knows it existed until they get to life after death. The said branch tackles all kinds of accidents; may it be from a car or motorbike accident, falling down a two, three story building, or some other type of accidents that fall into the category of the person ending up in comatose or death. The line at the comatose category was mere shorter than the death category, but the death line always runs faster. It is a one is to ten (1:10) people ratio because deaths are judged only in two; Heaven or Hell, while the ones in comatose are still alive in the real world, so they proceed to Purgatory. Purgatory is not an easy way to get through. Purgatory consists of seven different tests that would evaluate if the person will be granted awakening or death. If one fails on any of the seven trials, then they proceed in death and would be judged if they go up or down. No one knew of these trials and when one succeeds on passing all seven would be granted awakening from comatose but wouldn’t remember the adventure they had to get to Paradise.
It was around ten in the morning in the Spirit world in Purgatory. New addition to the death or comatose count rises each day. The lines are endless and tiring. No one in the comatose category knew of what awaits them after the judgment table, while the death category knew; Heaven or Hell. A young male, around his early twenties was next in line from the judgment table in the comatose category. He came in line a month ago and he was just getting towards his faith after so long. Of course, the line was quite long and from what the others had been gossiping about was that, each one in line will get a partner to travel with their journey to Paradise. The Paradise they were talking about was the end of the long road of trials that would make them eligible to be given a new beginning when they awaken. The five feet nine inches tall male took off his baseball cap, showing his medium dark brown hair. He waited for his name to be called and it was because there were no accidents occurring at the meantime. The judgment lady took a glance at him as she fixed her glasses, “I’m sorry lad. We’re still waiting for an accident to --” A ring on her telephone caught her attention,“Speak of the devil,” she answered the call and it was a call to tell her that an accident just happened. She placed the phone down and motioned for the boy to come to her. “Name please?” She asked and the male answered,“Kyle. Kyle Roth.”
The lady in the judgment table typed in his name on her list and let him through the door. The door opened but it led to nowhere. The room that was supposed to greet him at the other side was just darkness. The lady told him to just keep walking and so he did. While he was on the endless tunnel of darkness, vivid images were playing all around him. He couldn’t explain how it was happening or who the people on the images were. It was only when he walked to the last spot of darkness that a voice echoed; explaining the things that he needed to remember, the person on the images was his partner, and that she suffered a car accident like him. He was reminded of the seven trials, and after, a flash of light surrounded him. When he was able to open his eyes, he was already in a hospital room. He looked around but saw no one other than the comatose girl, lying on her bed. ‘So this must be room 109.’ He thought as he started to walk towards the bed. He stood beside the bed and looked at the girl. She did really resemble the girl on the vivid images he saw while on the dark tunnels.
A dim flash of light surrounded the girl and when it faded, the spirit of the girl was beside her own body. Kyle heaved a sigh as he didn’t expect it to be like that; now he wondered if it is how he also ended up in the spirit world. He kept silent since the girl was still soundly asleep. He didn’t want to wake her up but he knew that time is running out. They need to move now or they will not advance to the first trial without getting to the designated place by the allotted time. He squint his eyes while eyeing the girl, “What was her name again?” He thought loudly. “I know the voice in the tunnel told me but I just couldn’t remember.” He once again said as he scratched the back of his head. “Why am I always not good with names?” He asked once again before sitting down on the chair next to the bed. He rested his elbow on the arm rest and placed his hand on his face. He didn’t want to come out as rude for not being able to remember the girls name.

Luke had just finished his drink but hadn’t asked for the bartender to refill it. He would eventually ask for another but he thought he already had a few and the party was not nearly finished. There are still a few from his circle that hadn’t arrived yet. He wondered why people are coming in late when his very well known best friend had just came back from his sudden disappearance. No one would miss the return of the lacrosse captain. His stay with the company of Alex and Anne Marie was short when Anastasia led him to a more private part of the club; at the edge of the bar. It was empty and away from the others enjoying the party. He liked the feeling of a little privacy; even though he knew there was no real privacy in a club. He smiled at her as their eyes met and the feeling of her being this close to him had been raising in him; he wouldn’t want to let go of her. He let her be comfortable on his shoulder before kissing her forehead lightly but sweetly. He wrapped his left arm on Anastasia; securing her near him. It was not long when people started moving apart to make a path for the newly arrived girl. Luke let out a small smile at the side as he then heard Anastasia say the girl was Rebecca. She didn’t say it out-front but he knew she meant Rebecca. “It is hardly unnoticeable when Becca arrives in a party.” He commented, spotting Alex just a few feet away. What happened next was a bit unexpected. Was he seeing it right? Did Alex just kiss Rebecca? When Alex suddenly excused it as just being friendly, Luke just shook it off his head. Luke just thought it was rather unusual.
Looking away from the focus of the others, Luke motioned for the bartender and he already knew what to do. He left his glass beside Anastasia’s glass and while he waited, he kept his focus on looking over at Tatum and Quinn. He had seen them quite close just a few moments ago but he couldn’t just let it go. He thought he was the only one seeing them that close so he just kept silent about it. It was until the girl beside him mentioned about it. From what she said, Tatum was already into her sister and he just came back. He shook his head lightly as he cleared his throat. “No. That can’t be. If you had seen how he reacted upon seeing Bonnie, he’s not over her, and it is unlikely that he is eyeing your sister.” He glanced back at the bar and he saw his drink was already filled again and he took it. He took a small sip, trying not to look at Tatum and Quinn. When Anastasia mentioned that her sister was being distant, Luke knew why and he tried very hard to take it off his mind. He let out a comforting smile to Anastasia since he knew she was being protective of her and concerned. “You don’t need to worry. She’s already a lady. She’ll know when you’ll need her, and she’ll know when she needs you.” But he hoped that Quinn would go back to her old self or Anastasia might suddenly ask her what had made her distant. Would she be able to keep quiet? He had no clue if it was better to stay quiet or to eventually come forward and tell the truth. Both had the same consequences if not played correctly. One thing he hated was that both would eventually hurt Anastasia more. He was in a pinch, but if both of them could keep quiet and never mention it to anyone, then maybe they could get away with it. He hoped.
He took another sip from his glass and he started feeling more warm in each drop. It has been a while since he had taken in alcohol and actually enjoying it. He placed his glass back on the bar and noticed that his girlfriend was staring at him. He got curious but instead of asking, a smile painted his face and he looked down, feeling a bit shy. He felt her press against his side and asked if he knew that she loves him. He glanced at her and as soon as he looked at her eyes, he knew he could just melt right then and there. He runs the back of his fingers on her cheek gently. He took a glance on her gorgeous lips and thought of how he loved the feel of it on his own. He shifted his eyes back to hers as he slowly but faintly runs his fingers down her neck, to her shoulder, then down her forearm. “I do.” He came much closer as he continued running his fingers up to her right hand, lifting it up from under her head and placing it on his chest. He slowly leaned in but stopped just near her lips. He let his lips faintly graze on hers, as if to heighten his teasing. “I love you Stace.” He whispered under his breath as he took another glimpse of her eyes, "More than anything in this world." He then let his lips truly touch hers; finally letting her win. He squeezed her hand that was on his chest as he pulled her much closer. Her kisses felt like ecstasy that he couldn’t stop taking. The kiss was long and was more passionate than their first one tonight. It gave a different feeling; the feeling of longing.
They broke apart and gasped for air. He remained near her; his lips near hers. He took a glimpse of her eyes and he could see it quite different. He hadn’t really forced her to do anything he didn’t like and one of those was sex. He respected her decision to wait for the right time, but as he was looking at her after that kiss, he wondered if tonight was right. He gave her another kiss before asking, “Do you still want to mingle with the others or…” he paused as he tried to chase her lips. “Or do you want to come to my place?” As he looked into her eyes, biting his lower lip.

It was a cold but lovely night in the quiet town of Tralee, and unlike every evening, a yearly gathering was set to commence at seven o’clock. This gathering, The Tralee Winter Charity Masquerade, was the same as every winter and every family – whom were interested – would always be there. Everyone was chatting about it all week and most of the tourists would come during winter; just to be part of such an event. Just a few blocks away from the event, the simple family of the O’Rourke’s was busier than ever. Mr. Aleixandre or rather, Mr. O’Rourke was fixing his tie when his phone started ringing. He took the call and it was one of the tourists who were planning on going to the ball. Mrs. O’Rourke on the other hand was sitting in front of her dresser mirror; brushing her hair straight. Their oldest son, Kyle was in his room; finishing his preparation for the ball. The family was still quite in disarray ever since their twelve year old son, Sean, suddenly went missing four months ago. Nobody in town knew where the child went; even investigators never found out, and they all gave sympathy to the family. No one knew but Kyle did. It was his fault but no one needed to know at the moment. He had made contact with every port that has access to theirs and they swore to look out for his brother.
Kyle wanted to just punch himself every time his brother was brought up. It has haunted him for the past four months and he was already planning on taking the next step on finding his brother; he just doesn’t have any contacts to do it yet. He put on his black inner top and fixed its fit on him. It took him quite some time to even decide which suit he would use for the formal event. He had a few suits in his closet but he knew he would just wear something simple for tonight. His decision was torn in half with his white long sleeved coat with matching tuxedo, vest and trousers and his dark brown, long sleeved twill coat with matching set. In the end, he decided to go with the brown twill coat and his well-polished black leather shoes. He fixed his hair; applying some hair gel to make it as how he liked it. He was about to put on his coat when his phone vibrated on his beds’ side table. He put down his coat on its hanger before checking out the message that was just received. It turned out it was from one of the daughters of their very loyal customer, the Roth’s. Her name was Claire and she was quite the beautiful petit blonde every man would want. She’s pretty kind and concerned about him; who in return, made him quite sure that the girl had something for him. She hadn’t said anything to confirm it yet and he had no plans of being her suitor at the moment. He replied to her with a simple, ‘I’ll be there’, as she was asking if he would be attending the ball.
He has no date at the event but it was not because he had no girls to ask, but it was because there were a few that wanted to be his date; mostly from the tourists. He worked with his father with their tourism company and at times, he would volunteer to be one of the tour guides; just for fun. He had never thought of competing with the other tourist company in town. The Cunningham’s also own a similar business with their family and maybe because of that, my father felt threatened and would eventually talk nonsense about them. As for Kyle, he didn’t mind if there was another tourist company in Tralee, other than theirs. He thought, the more there is, the more tourists will be accommodated and would eventually boost Tralee’s tourism division; but his father thought otherwise. He took his coat and fixed it on himself; buttoning the first three at the top and leaving the fourth one undone. He looked at himself on the mirror as he checked if his suit fit him perfectly. He was already contented of how he looked and with just this simple apparel; he had gone his way to get a mask that would give more life to it.
He took hold of his mask as he then started towards his door and out to the hallway. Their house was quite big for a four membered family but it was passed down from his ancestors; making their house a family treasure. Before, the house housed two families with a designation of the west and east wing. The west wing which was adjacent to the beautiful waters of Tralee was given to his father, while the east wing was given to his sister. At the moment, Kyle’s aunt and her family went for a trip in France as a celebration for her 15 years of marriage, so the east wing was empty. Kyle walked past a room and he knew it was his brother’s room. He stopped by it and flipped the lights on. He glanced over his brother’s bed, table, pictures of his favorite band, and it made Kyle more desperate on finding him. “I’ll get you home soon, Sean. Hold on.” He whispered under his breath as he closed the lights and continued his way down the hall. The next room he stopped over was the Master’s bedroom and as he took a peek in, he saw his mother still sitting on her chair. He walked over to her and placed both of his hand on her shoulders, “Come on mother. We’ll be leaving soon.” He gave her a comforting smile and is mother smiled back. “You look so handsome, my dear.” She commented as she placed her brush down on the table. Kyle escorted his mother down the steps and his father was already by the door; saying goodbye to the person he was talking to on his phone.
He smiled at both of us but his eyes were mostly on his gorgeous wife. “You look beautiful.” He remarked as he took his wife’s hand from his son. “Oh, thank you dear.” She replied before kissing him. Kyle would always look away when he knew his parents would be all mushy with each other, but tonight was different. It gave him a bit of comfort that his mother was smiling. The disappearance of Sean really made her so depressed that she didn’t want to come out of the house, and she hardly smiled. He was a bit relieved that his mother was starting to open up again. The O’Rourke’s made their way out of their home and stepped inside their car and drove to the location of the party. Just as they parked, Kyle put on his mask and made sure that it wouldn’t just slip off during the night. As he entered the hall, he wanted to get the feel of the party first and so he took the sidelines and watched as the others took their dates on the dance floor. There were more people present this year and it made him quite excited. Being known as sociable, he was not overwhelmed by the ambiance; he even liked it. He spotted an attendant, walking towards him with a tray with a few glasses filled with white wine. He motioned for one and as he got his drink, he looked back at the dance floor, trying to get the feel of dancing.
It didn’t take long as he spotted the gown that Claire had told him that she would wear. What’s the use of being in a masquerade party when you know who was behind their mask? He placed his glass down on the nearest table before walking towards the girl. He tapped her shoulder, bowing slightly as he asked, “Would you care to dance?” Being familiar with his voice, Claire curtsied and took his hand. They danced for a while and he tried to lead her. He was taught professionally in dancing but he wouldn’t normally show it. A man in came up and asked for her hand in the next song. Kyle surrendered her without any problem. He walked away from the dance floor and would stay by the sides as he glanced over some possible females for dancing. As he walked around, he noticed a figure walking towards the terrace and it made him curious. Why would anyone walk out towards the cold when it was warm inside? He slowly walked his way towards the opening of the terrace and found a girl in a gold dress with a shawl wrapped around her that he thought was her way to keep warm while outside. She was looking up at the sky, maybe looking at how wonderful the stars are tonight. He slowly walked towards her, not wanting to startle her that much. He stood beside her and glanced up at the stars as well, “What a gorgeous night sky we have tonight.” He commented, trying to get her attention. He looked back at her with a smile. “What’s such a beautiful lady doing out here in the cold?” He wanted to start some conversation and it is much comforting to talk in a place where there were not so many people staring at them, and the terrace just made it so.
