Hiei stayed where he was his back leaning against the cage, his eyes closed as he let his body heat slowly work its way to the bird woman in the cage, eventually he heard her breathing change and a groan indicated that she was starting to wake up. His eyes opened and watched her as she struggled to speak, hearing the chattering of her teeth and seeing her body wrack itself with shivers. He grit his teeth, as much as he wanted answers they would clearly have to wait for this woman to warm up enough so that they could hold conversation. Her voice was hoarse already, probably from disuse, and his mind picked up on her words and filed them away for questions later. “Warm up, then we can talk.” He struggled to say in a nice way, his arms crossing over his chest once again, now that she was awake though he let his body temperature get higher still. He kept quiet while he sat there, letting his body heat warm her and the area around them, she had clearly been here a while and her words told him this was the right place.

His mind rolled away on the thoughts based off the little that she had said to him already, seeing the way she reacted to the cold said a lot of this trap was based around her. The demon keeping her here wanted to weaken her and it seemed like he wanted to give her hope, only if the demons are missing Hiei assumed they were dead now. His eyes narrowed as he looked around the room, it was bare and minimalist, clearly to make it harder for the girl to live in here. Dampness under him made his eye twitch as he looked down to find that while thinking his temperature had risen higher then he had wanted it too and was now starting to melt some of the ice under and around him. While not his intention it could work better than he thought, it probably wasn’t the cleanest thing to drink but with no other option it was better than nothing. “Drink the melting water.” She clearly didn’t have anything to eat or drink in here and it looked like she had been here for quite a while due to the frozen wings on her back, the real question was how was she still alive.

He watched her closely as she sipped at the water, he kept an eye on her as she slowly stopped shaking after a while more of silence and letting her warm up he spoke again. “Better?” He questioned though he knew he probably sounded irritated, though it had nothing to do with her per-say. It was more at himself for thinking that he could look into this without the help of the others, and that was what bothered him. He was so use to being on his own, even after everything was said and done he still preferred to stay by himself though he did stay close enough to the others in case of danger. Why had he been so stubborn. It was an easy enough answer, he was so set in his ways; such a lone wolf. A coward in many ways too. His thoughts went back to how Yukina still didn’t know that he was her brother that she was looking for. His heart twinged at that thought, maybe after he got out of here he would tell her. Maybe not.

Pulling himself out of his own self torture he set crimson eyes on her, seeing the shivers down to only every once in a while he decided now was the right time. “What’s going on.” He asked as he turned to sit facing her cross legged on the slightly puddling ice under them. He would ask questions if he had to but figured maybe with that bit of prodding she would just talk, it would be easier for him. He had talked more in this time then he really had to anyone else lately. It felt weird because this woman was a stranger to him, but if she was in trouble he now had little to no choice on what he had to do. He’d get out and probably save her while he did. He also expected to here a commotion here soon from Yusuke, Kuwabara and Kurama here soon. Koenma wouldn’t let Hiei be out of his sights for too long without raising the alarm. He’d bid some time that way escaping with the woman would be easier for all parties involved.

Kyeong Mi and Jisoo had been friend for so many years that they no longer tried to keep track, from the outside people might think they were complete opposites and while they may have been true that didn’t stop them. Watching Jisoo stretch Kyeong Mi smiled, Jisoo had been practicing so diligently lately so when she noticed her friend was starting to wear down she didn’t mind the break. “It doesn’t do us any good to work ourselves stupid.” She said with a laugh in her voice. The trail they walked along was forgotten by most people, a bit overgrown but that only made it all the more beautiful; at least to her. Kyeong Mi almost didn’t realize that Jisoo had stopped walking as she continued a handful of steps before stopping as Jisoo asked what that was. She had no idea what her friend was talking about until she back tracked a bit and looked through a gap in the tree’s. “I’ve no idea.” She admitted shaking her head lightly, long black hair falling over her shoulder as she did so.

The two girls made their way over to the building which as they got closer she recognised it as a warehouse, setting her hand against one of the walls lightly she could almost feel that something wasn’t quite right with this place. That only made her way to look inside more. A laugh escaped her mouth as Jisoo said what she was thinking, they met at the front of the building where Jisoo opened the door with a resounding screech where they both flinched from the offending noise. No use being quiet now if anyone was inside the build they’d know someone was here after that atrocious noise. Jisoo took the lead as she walked into the building and down the dark hallways inside the building, she stayed close by but couldn’t help the shiver of negative energy laced through this place; poisoning the air.

Thinking she had heard something behind them she turned looking, eyes adjusted to the darkness until a flare behind her alerted her to the fact that Jisoo had found a lightswitch. She’d been lucky she wasn’t looking directly into the room like Jisoo had been as she seen nothing in front of her and instead turned to see what was in the room before them. She took the time that Jisoo was blinded to take a few steps into the room but still without close range of her friend in case she stumbled. Scanning the room she found it was reminiscent of a torture chamber and it held prisoners she found as through the glass windows of each room bodies were seen in various positions. As Jisoo stepped into the room something within them awoke as they all shot their heads up, Jisoo moved to one side of the room setting her hand on the glass as she spoke.

“They’re someones toys.” She spoke her voice taking a dark edge as she moved to one of the windows but continued on past it. “I’ve been feeling dark magic at play here, whoever did this… they’re like us.” A slap against a glass nearby caught her attention she turned to find one of them snarling through the glass at them, she made her way over to his container but as she did he commanded her to leave. As she stopped in front of him she found his eye hels X’s inside them, wires coiled tightly around his arms and body keeping him without the room; she could feel the anger rolling off of him. Turning to look at how Jisoo was fairing she spoke. “I don’t think we should stay long Jisoo, whoever did this probably has magical traps set and we’ve probably set them off already.” She spoke warily looking around the room, six guys in total all of them in varying bad shape, her eyes made their way back to the one before her.

“We can’t save them all but we can try to save a few of them.” Kyeong Mi said as she set off following the room until it eventually came to another hallway peaking around the frame of it she found a door. “I found a door to this one, you might have to exert your power Jisoo. Let’s hurry.” She spoke quickening her steps to the door setting both hands against the steel she closed her eyes taking a deep centering breath before she slowly exhaled and let the power flow out through her hands. It only took a few minutes for the huge metal door to unlock magically, pulling her hands away while opening her eyes she pulled open the door, the same rough offending screech of metal on concrete echoed around them. Kyeong Mi hurried into the room where he was wrapped in wires, getting to him she placed her hands gentle against the wires and upon feeling more magical energy keeping them in place she sighed.

She pulled more magic before she touched each of the wires connected to him where they relaxed and slowly unwound from around him. She knew he could be dangerous, they all could be but neither herself nor Jisoo would be able to live with themselves if they hadn’t tried to save a few of them. Then she felt it, a huge power flare of another witch, it was far off but it was powerful and angry. She grabbed his arm carefully pulling him along as they got back to the main room she called out to Jisoo. “Jisoo! Hurry, she knows we’re here! She’s coming!” Urgency filled her voice, neither of them were powerful enough to take this witch on.

Silence. How nice it was. A small repreve after all the pain she put them through yesterday. Hongbin didn’t know how long he and the other had been here trapped within her web of pain. All he knew was she liked hurting him the most lately; he had long stopped caring and had cut himself off to most pain reactions. It was easier that way, she gained joy when any of them expressed pain. He had shards of glass in his arm from yesterday when she decided that’s what she was going to do to him. He’d long since accepted that he would be stuck here forever just as the others would or until she let them die; which seemed unlikely. It didn’t matter if his eyes were open or not as the light was off, silence continued until his ears picked up on a small sound outside. While not uncommon it was unusual seeing as the animals typically didn’t come to the building, but once in a while it did happen. They were shut up tight enough against animals so unless any of them had opposable thumbs and could open a door then they would be safe.

His mind lulled again into the silence until the screech of the door alerted them to company, in his mind he sighed had time been that quick already? Was she here to cause them more pain already? He thought for sure that they had days a couple hours at the very least but then again maybe it had been a couple of hours already, some days she was unpredictable.Footsteps. Nothing unusual until the echoing reached him better; two sets of footsteps. That was unusual he thought as he tilted his head to the side but kept his eyes closed. He didn’t like what she had done to them, they often hurt when exposed to too much light; natural or artificial. The light turned on as the two footsteps reached the main room where they were locked in, it nearly blinded him even though his eyes were shut.

He had no idea what was going on. Why were there two of them all of a sudden? This was new behaviour; she had never brought another along with her. He was almost curious enough to open his eyes but he didn’t knowing that it would just cause himself more unnecessary pain. A set of footsteps entered the room heading towards the middle of the room, he heard the others move almost instantly; getting up and moving towards the window he assumed. His ears registered that one of them gasped, the second was moving around on the other side of the room from the sounds of the footsteps. The one closest to him came up to his window, he could hear her voice through the glass as she and the other one spoke. These two were clearly not their captors, in fact they seem quite shocked by the whole thing; then why were they here?

Were they talking about them? It almost didn’t seem real as the two woman spoke about getting them out; what a thought to entertain. To be free once again. The second voice seemed to be saying something but Hongbin couldn’t quite catch what it was, and then she heard another loud heavy metal on concrete screech. Was one of these woman opening the door for them? Curious, he was more and more intrigued and finally opened his eyes catching sight of the woman who had been in front of his window before she moved out of view. She was different then his nightmare, this one seemed almost gentle and caring but he didn’t think about it further as he shut his eyes again. She had probably moved along to a different guy as he hadn’t reacted to her at all, it would be better if she saved one of the other guys instead. They looked more normal, easier to save; they could pass as humans. All but him and another.

Tao didn’t care which one she settled on so long as she would stop calling him both of them, so when she settled on sir he just nodded his head. Hearing her comment about his remark made him chuckle, maybe she wasn’t as meek as he had originally pegged her as; this could turn out to much more fun then he had intended. Hearing her cave in to make dinner he let his smirk sneak onto his face, he waited in the living room for her and when she came out the two for them left down to his car where the driver was already waiting for them. She stayed quiet as they were in the elevator together and then as they got to the car he let her in first, with her soft thanks he got in after her and they drove off. He glanced at his phone finding the text he had missed from Sehun, reading it he chuckled as he glanced up at her from where he was seated before typing out a message. ‘You worry too much. She’s not as meek as I originally pegged her for, maybe just maybe they are more alike than we think.’ He was not one to complain though as he put his phone back into his pocket.

After they arrived and he gave her the cart he tried a few times to get her to get higher priced items but eventually gave up with a deep sigh and putting his hands in his pockets while he walked alongside her. Hearing her words about her being able to pay and being able to do that much with her life made him glance at her; he hadn’t been trying to show off his wealth or make her feel bad. “I’m not trying to wave my wealth over your head. Since you will be cooking for me I think it’s right that I should be paying for these items.” He knew the Yeong family didn’t have a lot of money, normally he wouldn’t care but whatever money she did have should be hers. It’s not like he needed it. This time though he would let her buy the items, next time he would just send someone out shopping with a list of items that she would need to cook with. As she hurried to the front of the store to get into the line he sighed slowly following after her but he let her pay as he stood back before taking the cart from her and maneuvering it out of the store.

He left the cart with the driver at the back of the car as he opening the door for Kim to get inside, after she was seated he helped the driver out a bit and then joined her inside. A few minutes later and they were on the road again heading back towards the flat, after the driver parked the car this time the three of them carried the grocery bags up to his floor and into the kitchen before the driver left the two of them alone. “Put them wherever you’d like.” He said grabbing a bottle of water and making his way into the living room where the couch was. Sitting down heavily it finally hit him how tired he was, he slept like s**t the night before even with the drugs and woman he’d had. Drinking the bottle of water he turned on the tv for noise more so than anything else as his mind emptied with the sounds of Kim in the kitchen. Before he knew it his head was laid back against the back of the couch, his eyes closed as he took a little catnap; bottle of water in his hand falling to the floor as his grip relaxed.

Minzy couldn’t help but feel accomplished as he said her dress was fine. Such a small win but it was a start, she was stuck in this life right now whether she had wanted to be or not. She might as well enjoy it. And it wasn’t like he was hard on the eyes either. She didn’t know what she had expected as they got into the car and he said the usual, she stared at him from the corner of her eyes as she analyzed him. She seen him all over the club, she doubted if he had ever took notice of her but it was hard to not notice when the two CEOs were at the club, especially as they were surrounded by tons of beautiful, if not easy, woman. He always left with a new one, so she knew what kind of woman he liked at least and it was easy enough to tell he wasn’t going to settle down. Expected of course. He was young, rich and handsome.

As they arrived the driver opened the door, Sehun exited the car first and then she did; she shouldn’t have been surprised to find him opening the door to the restaurant but for some reason she was. She walked through stepping in enough to wait for him and also be out of his way and then she followed him to the table they quickly got ready for him. It was clear he ate here a lot and she wondered why, sure she wasn’t the greatest at cooking but she would miss her sisters cooking. At the thought of that her mind sobered, she wondered how Kim was doing with her CEO; she’d have to believe that Kim was doing alright where she was.

Hearing the waiter come back with the wine and two glasses she glanced at the menu but it only took her a few seconds to figure out what she wanted which was only sort of influenced by what Sehun ordered. “I’ll take the tri-tip medium rare with a side of steamed squash.” It wasn’t the most expensive thing on the menu but it was also clear that she was a woman who enjoyed food. Picking up the glass of wine that had been poured for her she swirled it a little bit before taking a sip with a sly smile she spoke. “A girl could get use to treatment like this.” She said before taking another sip of her wine. Setting the wine glass down she stared at him openly before she spoke again. “So why a nightclub?” She asked sitting back in the chair, her eyes fixed on him from across the table. She wasn’t stupid she didn’t expect him to tell her every little thing about him but if she was going to work for him some things she wanted to know.

She was more curious as to why he was doing cocaine but that was a subject that should be more carefully approached and in a more private setting. She wasn’t one to judge so it wasn’t even that but she was just wondering why a rich, successful, handsome, young CEO would need to do something like that. Was his life not as satisfying as he would like? In a way she supposed she could understand, maybe even relate to something like that. Her own life wasn’t exactly the greatest, she loved her family but they were in a tough spot which was the only reason she had even agreed to help her father with the drugs. Not the most glorious job to have but it made them money and decently fast.

Her mind went to thoughts of her mother, stuck in the hospital, both her daughters sold into servitude; like who did that anymore? But it was their fathers own fault for making cheap drugs and thinking he could hand them out to just anyone. Someone was going to notice sooner or later after all, and he was stupid enough to give them to influential guys. Before she knew it the two plates were set onto the table they were seated at, she hoped that while her mind had been elsewhere he hadn’t asked her anything. She lifted her wine glass drinking some of it before she started on her dinner which looked amazing, the tri-tip was perfectly seasoned and melted in her mouth. Practically heaven. The squash were steamed just enough to melt in your mouth but were firm enough to pick up without them falling apart.

Exiled Demon

Son of Lucifer

×÷·.·´¯`·)»

Lucas was nervous while everyone’s attention was on Char, he didn’t want it to feel like they were all pressuring her; if he was honest he wanted her to say no so that she could be kept safe up here. But he knew what Char was like and wouldn’t accept her any other way, knowing that she felt useless already he figured it was highly likely that she would agree to come. He rubbed his thumb on the back of her hand as they stood, once she gave her answer he lifted her hand to his lips and kissed them before grinning. “Alright. Let’s change, grab some items and get going early.” He said with a nod. “I’ll grab some provisions.” Meri said with a light but determined nod of her head. “I’ll grab us some weapons just in case, you can never be too careful when it comes to father.” Sylan said before turning on his heel and walking away.

“Uhhh I’ll… uhhhhhhh…. Go change I guess?” Lucian said turning his head one way to the other as both his mom and eldest brother left him with Char and Lucas; then he sulked away. Lucas kept hold of Char’s hand and they made their way to the hut with him leading, as they got inside he went to his items after letting go of her hand. “So this is going to be tricky. It’s going to be pretty warm down in the underworld so you will want something that can be used for the heat or the cold. Because it will be cold until we get to the entrance.” He said while grabbing him a sleeveless shirt and a heavy hoody. He pulled off the shirt he had already been wearing which was ripped from pulling out his wings with a pause he looked at his sleeveless shirt before considering and grabbing a wife beater instead.

He pulled it over his head, once it was on he glanced behind him slightly to check if Char was finished changing. Once she was he turned around completely and made his way over to her wrapping his arms around her and kissing the top of her head. “What would I do without you.” He mumbled closing his eyes for a few minutes before he let go and grabbed her hand again. The heavy sweater laid over his arm as they left the hut and met back up with his family at the bell, Meri and Lucian had changed already and Meri was holding a bag with some food items inside it. Sylan came walking up just as they arrived and handed Lucian a short sword, Lucas a long sword and Meri and Char small daggers. He kept a long sword for himself as they looked around the camp one last time. “These are hopefully just an unneeded precaution but I’d rather everyone be safe.”

“Let’s go.” Lucian said all hints of previous childishness disappearing as he pulled out his own wings, Sylan pulled out his own and lifting up their mother who didn’t have the ability to fly like the rest of her children. Lucas pulled his own out and picked Char up, he laid his heavy hoody over her and they all pushed off and gained flight. A cheer went up below them as they rose higher, everyone in the camp was gathered together to await the news of hopeful truce. They flew off into the sky headed towards the mass of flying demons in the sky from his father's army; as they approached someone came out to meet with them. As the demon approached Lucas recognised him as the one with the message, he scanned the family before nodding. “I’ll take you to the new entrance.” At the thought of a new entrance he glanced at his family, they all shook their head; they hadn’t known about it either and that worried him. How long had it been here?

They flew a few miles out to sea finding another much smaller island, if it could even be called an island it was more like a large outcropping of rocks bunched together. Landing on the rocks they found a hidden crevasse between two rocks leading down with steep steps, Lucas set Char on the rock below them as he turned to look at the demon who was still flying in the air. “I’m not allowed to come with you. Follow it down and once you reach the bottom you will know where to go.” He stated before flying back. Lucas lead the way down the crevasse, Char right behind him holding his hand as they walked. It seemed like it took forever for them to reach the bottom but once they did they fanned out looking around. “That way.” Meri spoke strongly pointing off into the distance a little. Looking where she was pointing he found they were just to the right of the royal palace, the huge castle was black and red from this distance it was quite imposing if Lucas hadn’t known any better. “Let’s hurry.” He said pulling out his wings once more, he picked Char up bridal style and they flew off the edge, the family quickly made short work of the distance with their wings but the closer they got the hotter it was.

Landing once again just steps outside of the palace Lucas held Char’s close to him after they landed, he gave her a quick kiss on the lips, placing his forehead against hers he looked down at her. “Are you ready?” He questioned as his family landed around them.

Kyeong Mi would have liked to have taken the proper time of introducing herself and Jisoo to these two along with taking care of their wounds but that wouldn’t be happening until they were far away from this building. She also wasn’t surprised when his body cracked the way it had once he had been free, nor was she frightened by his glare or growl once she grabbed his arm. It was basically dealing with an abused animal at this point; it would take much to get these two to trust and accept them for who they were but hopefully with time they would be able to free the others as well. They couldn’t save them if they were dead. Once she and her newly freed captive seen Jisoo coming out with hers she turned to the others still locked up and looking at them. “We’ll come back for you.” Was all she could say before she started to run towards the entrance they came in from; hand still holding his arm to make sure he would follow.

Once they reached the outside she didn’t pause, she couldn’t let them stop; they couldn’t afford it. His words spoken just behind her made her sure of it. “Jisoo let’s split up for now just in case. Head back to your house, tomorrow let’s meet at the usual practice spot; we’ll bring them with us.” Kyeong Mi didn’t want to split up but they didn’t know what they were against, the woman could be able to track the men with them. “If anything happens Jisoo call me, first signs of danger!” Urgency filled her voice as she looked at her best friend before she started to run off straight, they two of them passed across the trail the two girls had been following earlier when they had caught sight of the warehouse.

Kyeong Mi ran further into the forest, she was a nature junkie and was actually roughly headed towards one of her favorite spots within the forest. They weren’t following a trail or a path, spooking animals which scattered every which way for a while, several miles away she started to slow down, it would do no good spooking anymore animals from this point. She didn’t know if the witch had any nature oriented senses and she would much rather play on the side of caution now. She came to realize she had been gripping his wrist harder then intended as she had run trying to make sure he was keeping up with her; realizing this she quickly let go. “I’m sorry. I didn't realize I was hold you so hard.” She said while glancing back at him. She wasn’t keeping him captive and if he wanted to leave now he could, which was evident by her no longer holding onto him.

“You don’t have to stay with me any longer if you wish to go off on your own. Though I will mention I know of a place not far off where we can rest and I can treat any wounds you might have.” She said as she glanced over him, she hadn’t noticed anything bleeding but she was concerned about the wires which had been cutting into his arm at the very least. “If you could stay with me long enough to treat you I’d be grateful.” She spoke as she quickly walked through the trees which were starting to get closer together as they got deeper into the wild forest. The smell of the forest changed which cause Kyeong Mi to smile and her body relaxed, they would be safe for a while. After a dozen more steps the trees started to become easier to get though and soon a lake could be found glistening from the sun, as they broke through the treeline a small rundown shack was off to the right hand side.

“In here.” She said making her way over to it and pushing the door open, it gave with little noise despite how old it was; inside was a table with four chairs, a shelf with various items on it, a small cot, a heater with an attached outhouse. “It’s not much but its safe enough for me to treat you while we rest.” She said while walking inside, she moved over to the shelving and after a few minutes she pulled out what looked like an old first aid kit. “If you could sit on a chair or the cot if you’d prefer I’ll be grabbing some clean water.” She set the first aid kit on the table while grabbing a bucket from behind the door and leaving, she filled the bucket with the crystal clean lake water and came back into the shack.

                                                          Quote:

Hongbin was sure she had moved along, he was content enough to let one of the others be rescued instead as he shut his eyes once more to relax back into the soon to be silence before the witch would surely come for them. Instead his door opened, sounds of hurried footsteps made their way over to him and when her hand touched his arm gentle his eyes flew open and his head turned to glance up at her from where he had stayed sitting. The woman before him was… soft, that was the only word that came to his mind. Hearing the witch was on her way almost made him want to refuse but knowing that escape was so close something in him cracked, he was desperate to live again. He allowed her to help him up, his eyes now searching elsewhere as they left the room he had been kept in for who knows how long now. In the main room his eyes met those of Wonshik’s almost a mirror image of his own eyes, if he had any sense of emotion left he might have found this situation humorous; of all the six in the room the two girls grabbed the two who were the most abnormal.

It was clear they were in danger, why didn’t the two girls just leave them behind? Instead he watched curiously as the woman held onto Wonshik’s arm as she took off running. It seemed she wasn’t the least bit intimidated by what he looked like? Confused Hongbin ran along as the woman who held his arm started running also, he was nearly blinded as they came out of the warehouse. He had no choice but to close his eyes and let the woman before him lead wherever they were going as he tried to allow his eyes to adjust but he wasn’t sure how long it would take. The two woman talked briefly before splitting off, it made sense if they were quick they could get away with this. From the feeling beneath his feet he assumed they were on a trail but his directions were all messed up and turned around with his eyes shut. As he felt the coolness in the air change he barely opened an eye, he found they were under the treetops now and he found the light didn't bother him as much. He let her lead as they ran, his eyes looking all around them; when was the last time he had been outside? He couldn’t remember.

The air was fresh, no smell on metal or rust or blood and carnage. Passing too close to a tree he felt leaf brush against one of the shards of glass in his arm causing him to hiss in pain. The glass was in too deep to fall out but it was painful nonetheless, he briefly wondered if they would be able to get them out. Could he die from blood loss? The thought had never occured to him, the witch had done a lot of pain to the six men and a lot of it involved various amounts of blood but none had any adverse reactions. His eyes lifted to glance at the back of this woman’s back, would she even try taking the glass shards out of his arm? She seemed gentle so he wasn’t sure if she would be able to handle the blood that would surely come with taking them out. If not he could do it himself. But where were they going, his mind vaguely recalled the other woman saying something about taking him back to her place but there was no way her house would be in the forest; he couldn’t be that lucky. They would eventually have to go into the city wherever that may be; how would they be able to do that. After a while she started to slow down and he glanced up at the sky, it was daytime still and who knows what time it was, they could possibly wait in the forest for it to get dark and maybe go into the city then?

Glancing at her back again he said none of this keeping his mind to himself. When was the last time he had spoken to anyone? He couldn’t remember but he could make noises as the hiss of pain earlier had shown him.

Hearing Sehun say that maybe she could get use to the treatment made her smirk back at him before she spoke. “Flatterer. It’s no wonder you have woman falling all over you.” The thought was a fairly pleasant idea but one she wouldn’t hold hopes to. She was here for a reason and it wasn’t a social call as disappointing as that may have been. She sipped on her glass of wine watching him curiously as he began to answer, she nodded along as she listened to him. It all made sense, she wouldn’t be one to pass that kind of an opportunity either. Unfortunately something like that wouldn’t happen for a while but she would enjoy the perks of being his secretary while it lasted.

After she finished spacing out she heard him ask his question about her own life; it was only obvious to ask back since she had pried into his own. She mullied over the question for a few minutes as she tried to figure out how much to tell him of her life before this; might as well tell most of it. She didn’t gain anything from lying to him but she could withhold certain information. Like the fact that she was a frequent dancer at his club. “I did a lot of odd jobs. I was a delivery girl for my father. As for fun? I like to dance to let off steam.” The cheeky smirk she tried to hide as she picked up her wine glass once again and took a sip. She had to be vague about the drug delivery, that wasn’t something you talked about in a public place like this but she knew that he would know what she meant.

She didn’t want to talk about why she hadn’t gone to college, nor why she had to do odd jobs. She didn’t need him to hear a sob story nor did she want his pity so when the food arrived she was happy for the distraction that it would bring as the two of them would start eating. A thought popped into her mind after her first bite and before she had a thought to stop herself she spoke asking it. “How long have you known Tao? How did the two of you meet?” She was curious, Tao held her sister and she was curious about him at the minimalist level. If only to make sure Kim would be safe with him.

She took her time to eat being in no hurry, this was probably some of the best food she’d ever had, not that Kim’s cooking was bad but it was just different. Home cooked meals were different, they were comforting and reminded her of home. This fancy restaurant, the food and the man across from her was every bit about a life she would never be able to have after this job was done. She cut another piece of her tri-tip and placed it into her mouth, after pulling it from the fork she looked up to meet the eyes of Sehun which held her own for a few minutes before she looked away to finish the last of her wine from her glass.

Tao wasn’t sure how long he had been asleep for before he heard a voice calling out to him, waking out of it he heard her moving around close to him which snapped him awake. Eyes opening he found her wiping up the floor, confused it took him a few seconds to realize he had dropped his still open water bottle on the floor and had effectively created a mess. If she hadn’t caught that it could have been bad either for him or for the loft itself, not that paying more for the water damage would have been too bad. “Let me finish that. It was my own carelessness that caused it.” He offered holding his hand out for the rag she was using to clean it up. He shouldn’t have fallen asleep while she was in the room, she had just met her; didn’t know a thing about her. It could have been very dangerous for them both, maybe Sehun was right and he should be more careful.

His nose picked up on the aroma of some kind of food lingering through the air, originating from the kitchen and dining room area. Whatever it was it smelled heavenly. He made his way over to the kitchen once the floor was cleaned up, walking through he found the table set with food for the both of them. He sat down and motioned for her to join him in the seat across from him as his eyes glanced over the food before him. “It smells amazing. How long have you been cooking?” He questioned eyes glancing back up at her. “Who taught you?” He asked again curious. Once she sat down he picked up the spoon to dip into the soup and take his first taste of it.

His taste buds on his tongue exploded with flavor, it was probably one of the most intense tastes he’d had so far. No amount of fancy dishes could compare to the flavor if what she had cooked for him. He actively started to eat, enjoying each of the dishes separately and together after his bowl was empty and his plates were cleared he picked them up from the table balancing them together as he took them to the sink to wash. “You cooked so I’ll wash the dishes.” He explained leaving no room for her to argue about it. “When you’re finished bring your plates over.” He explained again leaving no room to argue. Once he was finished with all the dished and they were put in the drying rack he turned to face her once again.

“Don’t feel that you need to stay in your room the whole time. You’re more than welcomed to use the kitchen and living room as you please. I ask that you not leave the loft without speaking with me and getting permission to do so first.” He spoke seriously, while he didn’t want her to think of herself as his captive he couldn’t help but need her to realize that she was now his possession and she would need to earn his trust for her freedom. Mostly he needed to know that she would come back, if he had to track her down and force her back he’d have to be mean about it and that wasn’t exactly something he wanted to do either. Sure he could be a cold hearted b*****d but she didn’t ask for this, unfortunately she was just collateral to make sure her father wouldn’t skip town or give them cheap drugs again.

The world had gone to s**t. Everyday citizens were forced to pick up arms and fight against one another for resources, some of them had to commit what would have been atrocities in a normal world. Each city picked clean as they moved in large packs, nothing stood in their way. No one left alive unless they defected into this group. It was kill or be killed in this new world. Minsu wouldn’t consider himself the leader, the five boys all shared that responsibility; they played to their strengths and his just so happened to be ruthlessness. It certainly wasn’t something he took pleasure in but it was something that needed to be done. The five met up in one of the lounge rooms to talk about their next move, a medium sized base was not far off from where they were currently holed up. Intel said there weren’t many people inside but it held a lot of supplies that they could use, intel also stated that over half the people inside weren’t hostile as they were females.

They all knew what the woman were there for. They would leave in 30 minutes to head to the base they’d be raiding, for a sneak in like this the smaller number of people would be best. Less room for error and the boys liked to do raids and missions on their own sometimes; they were not the type of leaders to sit back and let the people under their protection be harmed and put in harm’s way needlessly. So he left gathering his items from the room he was staying in, he made sure to grab his knife strapping it to his thigh while grabbing a medical face mask. Checking the mobility of his clothing he found it fine so he left meeting up with the others, once they were all assembled they grabbed a truck and left. The ride itself didn’t take long but they didn’t drive all the way to the base, stopping a few miles out from here they would go on foot.

They stayed together and low to the ground watching for any signs of traps or watchguards, it seemed the people they were raiding were either stupid or the boys were lucky. No one walked around the parameter, no lights flared finding them and no traps went off. ‘How did these people live so long?’ He wondered briefly to himself because they were making all kinds of rookie mistakes. The group of them didn’t know the exact location of the supplies so they would have to be extra careful as they canvassed each building. After a few empty buildings they heard a racket from one of the buildings they had been heading towards, following it they found probably the majority of the people in this band of survivors. It was inside a room, peaking in they found the men seated relaxed though most of them still held guns while the woman perched on their laps.

Minsu shook his head disgusted, this wasn’t the time for that kind of thing but he couldn’t blame the woman as this was clearly one of the better ways for them to survive. Most of them wouldn’t want to do the dirty work. The five of them sneak in from a loose wall panel, staying low to the ground and moving slow; he was up first as they finally encountered a watchguard inside the building. He stood up silently grasping his knife; grabbing the head of the guard he covered the mouth and pulled him back into the shadows further as he used his knife to slit his throat and eventually with a bit of work he cut straight through. Stepping forward away from the shadows he threw the head on the floor watching as it bounced and rolled into the view of the group, one of the woman seen it and screamed standing up. They all rushed out of the way as the rest of his group helped him disarm and kill the remaining men within the room, glancing around he found two of the woman still hanging around.

Stepping closer to the back wall where they were he found the two of them were chained to the wall by the ankles. ‘How curious.’ He wondered briefly before he knelt down in front of one and used the butt of his knife to break the lock; a bullet could be too risky. Standing up again he turned to find Sunwoo helping the second girl, his eyes scanned the two of them wondering what they could have done to have been imprisoned like this. “Do either of you know where the supplies are kept?” He questioned figuring it was worth a try. “Depends on what kind of supplies you’re looking for.” The girl Sunwoo helped said as she rubbed her ankle lightly before standing up and looking at them all. “The food, medical and tech supplies are all held in different warehouses. They are lightly guarded. These fools seem to think they are an unstoppable force.” She explained. “We can lead you. I can point out the food building along the way. She can take you to the tech building and I’ll take someone to the medical supplies.”

The boys split up, Minsu would be going to grab whatever tech he could get his hands on. Sunwoo was going with the other girl to grab the medical supplies.Suwoong and Wonjun would be going to grab the food while Sungjun would be stealing a truck to transport it all.

Ae Ri couldn’t believe she was in this position, how could she have gotten caught over something so stupid? She’d been under lock and key until she behaved; which wasn’t likely to happen anytime soon seeing as she was desperate to get out of this place. She wasn’t some kind of a slave to these guys, she wanted to explore this new world and she would do anything to gain this freedom. Only she was literally chained up. Part of the problem had been the other girl she was locked up with, she didn;t know the details but knew it had something to do with the tech these guys used around here. Whatever happened it put the whole place on high alert and she had been caught in a sweep, sure she was probably lucky that they didn’t kill her. ‘Perks of being a woman.’ She thought with a roll of her eyes.

Movement caught her attention, turning her head slightly while maintaining her facade of boredom and defiance she seen a line of shapes moving in the shadows crouched down on the floor. As a thief she caught minor movements that no one else would, she would make mental note of this and use it to her advantage somehow soon as she turned her head away and feigned annoyance. It was a while longer then she would have thought before movement caught her attention again, they were being cautious. It spoke of experience in this sort of thing, people who knew what they were doing at the very least.

She watched the movement from the corner of her eye, no one was paying attention as the shadow enveloped a guard patrol within the room. She took notice of four more figures taking key spots around the room. Ae Ri was momentarily surprised she had only caught minimal movement, it seemed this group was well within their realm. A head dropped into the middle of the semicircle the chairs were placed in, one of the woman screamed creating panic as they rushed out a back door. Ae Ri was stuck and only hoped that their wouldn’t be a gunfight; if their was the two girls chained up would be in trouble.

Her eyes caught movement to her left as a grey haired guy disarmed a man who had stood from a chair close by her. His clip falling to the ground as the guy knocked him out swiftly, the others around the room were no different. Attention shifted to the two girls while the blonde with the bloody dagger stepped up, she was surprised when he broke the lock on the other girls. The grey haired guy came up beside her and unlocked her own. The blonde spoke asking if they knew where the supplies were kept, she smiled this could be her chance to help out and possibly leave with a few of her own supplies. “Depends on what kind you are looking for.” She spoke as she rubbed her raw ankle, the chain had been meant for hands not ankles. She glanced around at them before deciding that she would help them, not that she really had much choice in the matter.

“The food, medical and tech supplies are all held in different warehouses. They are lightly guarded. These fools seem to think they are an unstoppable force.” She explained stepping forward a little bit. “We can lead you. I can point out the food building along the way. She can take you to the tech building and I’ll take someone to the medical supplies.” As the guys decided who would go where the two girls waited until a decision was made; once it was she led the way out the back door of the building. They’d need to be quick if they wanted to grab items before the alert went off, though not many guards were left at this point maybe a dozen more? The guy who unlocked her chain came along with her as she lead the way down the street keeping close to the sides of buildings with the most shadow. She was used to this, it was simpler and easier this way; she didn’t have any hand to hand combat and couldn’t use a gun or knife to save her life. Overall she wasn’t that useful in this world.

They made it to the building and snuck in through the same hole she had used previously with a smirk, they paused in the shadows as she waited watching the guards route. “I’ll distract him.” She spoke softly before she stepped out with hurried footsteps getting the mans attention as she pressed herself against him. Distraction was what a woman was good for after all. She leaned against one of the walls pulling the guy with her all his attention now focused on her; she was surprised when the guy with her broke his neck and stole his gun. Impressed she followed him further into the room to gather items. She found where she had hidden her bag full of items previously, pulling it out she checked to see if she still had everything which she did; a second glance around and she grabbed a few more supplies shoving them into the already fun bag. She grabbed a crate and shoved various items onto the top precariously as he opened the door to the building, a truck down the way idling drove over and they packed up a few of the crates before getting inside the truck to head to the next warehouse.

After everything was said and done they stole a handful of crates from each building and everyone got in the back of the truck but the driver and they sped off after she unlocked the gate. Once they were far enough away they paused long enough to collect a second truck that was out a few minutes and they were brought back to the base these guys were staying at.

Exiled Demon

Son of Lucifer

Lucas took strength from the fact that Char was ready, as ready as she could be to do this. It wasn’t an easy decision for either of them to make but was needed. Lucas led the way fingers laced with Char’s as they walked, just behind Char was Meri with Lucian standing next to her with Sylan taking up the rear. Up close the palace cut an even more imposing figure then it had from far away. The building was made of out obsidian and had small rivulets of lava coursing down the sides, as they stepped into the palace no guards or resistance was found. Lucas found that suspicious because his father always had guards posted, whether he actually needed them or not was another matter. “This is odd.” Lucian said his brow creasing as their footsteps echoed into the empty palace. “I don’t like this.” Sylan agreed.

They walked through a handful of hallways, the place devoid of all life forms until they made their way into the throne room. Sitting on a throne of obsidian was Lucifer, his body bright red with various black markings traveling up his skin. Huge curled horns sprouted from his forehead and his huge wings were spread out behind him; he was the classic depiction of a demon. “Ahhh my family finally returns to me.” His eyes were completely black, no eye whites to be found as he scanned over the group of them his eyes eventually landing on Char. “The human.” He spoke his voice deep, resounding all around them. He was a powerful and striking figure sitting atop his throne but Lucas couldn’t help but think something wasn’t quite right with his father; he had never once seemed so tired and worn down.

“We have come just as you wanted. Let’s get this farce over with.” Lucas commanded his own voice seemingly deeper and more powerful then it had seemed before. “I see the whispers are true.” Lucifer’s voice echoed along the walls as his eyes moved away from Char and instead landed on Lucas and eventually to their entwined fingers. Lucifer stood up in one slow fluid movement and took three steps down from the throne, ending up on the main floor as she stood his full height. “Why is it that you protect her?” Lucifer asked looking at the two of them. “I protect her because I want her safe. I protect her because I want her to live. I protect her because she deserves life.” Lucas said while staring straight at his father. “Even if it may cost you your life?” He questioned his voice hard. “Especially if it costs me my life.” Lucas said tightening his grip of Chars hand just a little.

“Then I suppose it is time to end this.” Lucifer said with a deep tired sigh. “Step away from the human and draw your weapon Lucas.” Lucifer commanded once again. “Luc don’t do this please.” Meri spoke pleading with the man that is her husband. “I cannot and you know this to be the case.” Lucifer said his eyes landing on Meri for the first time since they had walked in. “You look as beautiful as the day we first met.” His voice was wistful and full of memories. Lucas took that time to pull Chars hand to his lips placing a kiss before he let her hand go and stepped away from her. “Lucian keep her safe.” He told his younger brother as he stepped out to meet his father while drawing his blade and shifting into his demon form.

Lucian grabbed hold of Char with a weak smile but his grip was far from weak but also not enough to hurt her. “We cannot have you running out there to sacrifice yourself.” Lucian said sadly. Lucifer pulled out his own blade, the two of them stood for a few minutes before Lucifer rushed in; the two men fought as if their lives depended on it; in fact they did. Traditional fights for the throne of the underworld were to the death. Lucas and his family hadn’t mentioned it to Char yet as they knew she would give herself over to whatever horrors could await her if it meant saving Lucas.

The fighting was almost to fast for them to see as they flew through the air slashing at each other violently with their swords. Black blood splattering on the floor and walls, it was almost impossible to see who it all was coming from; who was winning. After what seemed like forever the two of them collapsed to the floor, both of them covered in wounds which were bleeding profusely. Meri ran out across the floor too quickly for either of her sons to stop her as she collapsed at Lucifer's side. “Darling please stop.” She spoke worry in her voice. “Away woman!” Lucifer’s voice boomed as he tried to push her away from him. “It’s too late! Stop being so stubborn!” Meri’s voice raised as tears ran down her face.

Meri turned to look at Char. “Char Tell them both the truth! Tell them your feelings for Lucas!” “Mother no!” Sylan called out in worry. “If you do not tell them they will continue this until one or both of them die!” Meri pleaded as she grabbed hold of Lucifer as he tried to stand back up to continue the fight. Lucas was barely on his feet himself but as were the laws that had been in effect since the beginning it was what was suppose to happen. He took a few steps crossing to where his father and mother were on the floor, Lucifer shoved Meri away with more force then he had intended so that she could not be harmed by the finishing blow that was surely to come.

Kyeong Mi set the bucket down by the chair as she knelt on the ground in front of him, she ripped off the bottom of the shirt she was wearing being the only thing even remotely clean enough to be used to clean his wounds. Dipping the shirt turned rag into the cold water she wrung it out before slowly beginning to clean the skin that had been rubbed raw by the cords. “That’s a rather silly question.” She started as she looked up at him with a smile. “I helped you because I couldn’t leave you there after seeing what you had been going though.” She explained as she continued moving the soft clothes against his skin to clean the areas. “Jisoo and I, well we don’t like to see people suffering. We hate that we could only save two of you, but we have to do what little we can for right now. We will go back for the others.” She spoke her voice strong with conviction.

“When we go back you and the other we saved would be more then willing to come along with us if you two so chose but we would never force you to help us.” She spoke before she sighed lightly. “Unfortunately we must speed up our training much quicker then I was wanting if we are going to be able to match and defeat the woman who did this to you all.” She spoke before running her finger along one of the cord marks. “Do they hurt you?” She question curious as it hadn’t seemed like they had but he could have just been really good at hiding his pain. Sitting down in a chair she pulled over to him she looked him over where he sat before she sighed softly. “I don’t usually tell people I just met this but you have every right to know especially with what you have been put through until now.”

“Jisoo and I are witches, like the woman who has tortured you but our powers are used differently. It’s part of the reason we were even able to unlock your doors.” She explained while crossing one leg over the others knee. “I’m Kyeong Mi by the way, and you would be?” She questioned him as the light outside started to dim down as the sun went back behind the trees. “We should get moving again.” She said starting up, grabbing the bucket of water she moved back outside with it dumping it back into the lake. Finished she made her way back to the shack and once he was out she shut the door once more. “This time we will be heading back towards the town, I live on the outskirts and with it turning to evening it will be safer for us.” She explained as she began to lead the way out of the forest through another hidden path that only she could see.

The walk was full of silence and after a little while the sunset as they were coming out onto a main pathway. Kyeong Mi glanced back every so often to see if he was still following her, which he was and she assumed that he would be staying with her for a while. Soon enough the forest pulled away and several small cabins were seen, one of the bigger ones were hers. She was lucky she had running water, and sure she had electricity but she tried not to use it instead favoring candlelight. As she unlocked the door and walked in she made her way to the scattered candles around various parts of the house and started lighting them. “This should help with your eyes.” She spoke as she moved further into the house. It had a living room, a kitchen, small dining area and past that two bedrooms with a bathroom they would have to share.

“Are you hungry?” She asked as she made her way into the kitchen before pausing and turning to look at him vaguely confused. “Do you even need to eat now?” She wondered aloud momentarily distracted. “The room you will be staying in is down the hallway to the left, straight down the hallway is the bathroom if you would like to shower. I might have some of my brothers old clothes in the garage that might fit you and I can grab you a box to look though.” She offered as she moved around the kitchen grabbing items out of the fridge and cupboards.

Hongbin didn’t say much as they arrived, he instead listened to her talk as he sat down at the chair that was pulled out for him. He couldn’t believe she was actually going to attempt to take out all the shards of glass, glancing up at her he found her taking a deep breath before she pulled the first out out. He’s face flinched but that was about the extent of a reaction that he had as she pressed the towel to the wound. Her murmured words caught his attention as he tilted his head to the side as his eyes scanned her face. “She is all I remember.” He spoke for the first time in who knows how long. He wasn’t excusing what had been done to him and the others but he also suspected none of them could remember before her either.

He took this time to look closer about the cabin she lived in, it was decently sized, holding all the things he assumed a house would hold. “How did you unlock my door.” He asked eyes turning back to her as he got time to process all that had happened upon him being broke out of the warehouse. “I vaguely remember the witch saying that only she could open it.” He said eyes trained on her as she works on pulling another shard of glass from his forearm. “Why do you care about what happens to us?” He question intently finally having many things he wanted to ask and things he had to say. “You should have left us there and worried about yourselves more.” He said with a slight shake of his head.

He couldn’t allow himself to be happy to have escaped as he still thought one of the other guys should have been saved in his stead. The more he sat in her house, and was just overall surrounded by things filled with her energy he could tell. With his eyes trained on her he could feel that she was similar to the witch and yet at the same time she was different. His mind went back to the other girl who had Wonshik, she had to be another one. What were the odds that he would meet three of them in one lifetime. Then again maybe he had met many before he lost his memories before he was turned into a doll; his mind wandered as his thoughts spiraled down into vague ideas.

Then pain hit, it was instant and like every nerve was on fire in his leg; if he had been standing he would have collapsed as he howled in pain grabbing at his leg. The witch was using the doll, they should have told the girls to destroy it instead of saving them, then maybe the six of them could have overwhelmed her. Pulling away in his blinded pain he fell off the chair and onto the floor where he backed himself into the corner as he curled into a fetal position until the pain would eventually lessen and go away. He didn’t want to open his eyes afraid that somehow he had been summoned back into hell where the witch was waiting to punish him for leaving.
