At some point in the night, after many cigarettes, more than enough alcohol, and few messes that he had drunkenly walked away from, Bentley had finally found the couch after Cherise put him on some what of a time out. When it all happened Bentley wanted to be angry, instead he had felt tired, rolling his eyes like a petulant child before parking himself for the night. Thatโs when, the girl from earlier, showed up again, this time a lot more drunk too, taking a seat next to him and deciding now would be a good time for small talk. It was funny, as little as Bentley talked, it spurred her to talk even more. As little attention Bentley gave her, it encouraged her to act, and thatโs how he found himself making out with her right there in that room.
Bentley would be lying if he said he hadnโt leaned in, kissed her back, ran his hand through her hair and locked her in place so he could take more from her. There had been no one else since Diane, no one else like this since the last time they had hooked up, Bentley was only human, and drunk, and hurt on everything that had happened today and the days that had lead up to this entire mess. It was when this girl, whoโs name he couldnโt even remember from hours ago, pulled away and whispered in his ear, โLetโs go upstairs,โ did the bliss he was feeling break away and drag all those simmering feelings back up to the surface. โI canโt,โ he said shaking his head as he looked away from her, โI have someone else,โ and even though it was a half truth, he knew one this was for sure, she wasnโt Diane.
If he was being honest, he didnโt know how to feel after making out with this girl but he didnโt have much time to sit with those feelings because before he knew it him and Cherise were stumbling outside, Bentley more than happy to drink more and forget the rest of the night. He listened as she babbled, quickly grabbing the shot off the counter and throwing it back as if he had done this a million times before. โShe kissed me, we made out, thatโs it,โ he said slowly, highlighting the fact that she initiated but leaving out the parts about how badly he wanted it to continue at first and where it could have led if it did. โIt was fine, I guess, youโre friend is really straight forward,โ and to be honest he was appreciative of it, finally someone who told him exactly what they wanted, but of course, Bentley didnโt say that. Instead he decided he wasnโt quite drunk enough, grabbing the bottle they were just pouring shots out of and drinking it straight from the source.
