FLASH UPDATE DEC 9TH 2020
flash for google beta testers has been shut down - theres nothing more you can do short of a new device and not register it to google in any way but even so thats a very expensive fix for making something work for only a couple more weeks only to be shut down again so if your a beta tester its over sad
arrow adobe locking and ending everything on Jan 12th but most browsers ending flash on Dec 31 the exceptions will be puffin and photon browsers and some countries are already blocking flash - check your country for more info
tip:
you can try to roll your computers browser back to before the update. IF AN UPDATE KILLED FLASH. im not sure what kinds of errors you will get by doing this but at least you get to keep the browser you love and possibly fix it unless the rolled back browser has the same restrictions and if so then this wont do alot but it should not do this
TIP:
try another browser? opera? pale moon? firefox? torch? maybe a different browser can help out if you dont like these choices im sure theres plenty of others to try if flash has shut down for your current browser

many browsers are now starting to make it much harder, even when you tell the browser to ask first or if you use an extension its still being blocked, opera and firefox are still easier to use than other browsers
AND IF YOU USE PUFFIN OR PHOTON your still good to go they have flash built into them .
its getting harder to use on chrome and edge and explorer although its still possible to get there

VIVALDI has already turned off flash - from now on if you use that browser you will need a new browser to continue to try to run flash
EDGE is considering turning off early before December 31st - is based on a few factors

OPERA has made it now next to impossible to use flash - effective three days ago they have removed all but one way to turn on flash - for gaia this is how you do that now
step one go to any page for gaia online
step two - click on the triangle next to the address bar
step three - click on site settings and a new opera tab opens with site settings , will look like this address gaia_down
gaia_right gaia_right gaia_right scroll down until you find flash then enable , dont forget to also enable insecure content - this seems to make it run more smooth
AGAIN ---- all other options to enable flash on opera have been removed , this is the only way to do it now

there is some confusion as to rather or not that google chrome will eliminate flash by the end of January 2020 instead of December 2020
if the current plans are correct then google chrome will be the first browser to eliminate flash however by the end of the year all the major browsers will have eliminated it and those will be explorer, edge, chrome, firebox, opera
a little Q and A for flash
Q- will flash be eliminated completely by Dec 31st 2020?
A- NO however it wont receive any more updates and many browsers will no longer support it at all
Q- what replaces flash?
A - java script will replace it as its more secure, the more common name is HTML5, is java based and browsers like Firefox and chrome and opera will only support HTML5 after Dec 31st 2020
Q- will any browsers support flash after Dec 31st 2020?
A- surprisingly yes and they are as follows
>> 1- photon browser for tablet and phone
>> 2- puffin browser for tablet and phone
however puffin charges a fee to use it straight on a desktop or laptop, its still free to use on phone and tablet devices, YES there is a workaround ---& download bluestacks onto your computer to simulate an android device then download from there ., this also will work for photon browser as well and the nice thing you dont have to download any old adobe files to your computer to make it work heart

A- use the adobe website right here

chrome://components/ to make sure your chrome components are up to date. COMPONENT NOT UPDATED just means the plug in or component is up to date and no further action is needed ok and make sure anything on this page here

it appears that flash automatically works in explorer but please keep the following info in mind when or before using internet explorer
to change any settings in explorer go to tools then a pop up box for options will show up , go to advanced and check any boxes needed to activate flash however since gaia don't support explorer i doubt many if anyone will be there but it might be an option to use just in case

for Firefox browsers:
there does not seem to be a fix for Firefox at the moment, HOWEVER THIS MAY CHANGE IN THE FUTURE but there does not seem to be any fix and the always run option don't seem to work
SOME USERS... say this article has worked for them but its with limited success of all users on gaia
the best suggestion is to use another browser like puffin for PC or Google or opera. be aware puffin for PC is a low quality browser and does look blurry in some flash games like zomg but at this time as long as you have flash on your computer or laptop you are good to go
puffin uses cloud storage if enabled so its a very modern browser to use for flash and on mobile it has an adobe version built in so you dont need any special thing to use on your phone YAY PUFFIN smile

about torch browser:
Are you having problems with Flash or with Torch plug-ins? heres some info below for you to read to try to help. since its not as common of a used browser ive just included some basic info on this but if you have more info go to the bottom there and click the pm me link ok
You may check "torch://plugins" just paste that into the url address bar (or just the address bar if you prefer) and hit enter or you may reach the same page by clicking on the Menu button Tools menu Then Settings, then scroll down to the bottom and click on "Show Advanced Settings", once there, find the section "Privacy" and click on "Content Settings". In the pop up window you ill find "Plug-ins", and there you can click on "Disable individual plug-ins" You see, it's probably quicker just to paste the "torch://plugins" command into the url address bar or again just into the address bar

about the SAFARI BROWSER:
i don't have any info on this browser since i don't have an apple / ios computer or device but this basic info was found on the internet and seems to be some what universal from different sites

MOBILE DEVICES: such as tablets, phones, etc of that nature
if you want flash to work on your mobile devices you must use a browser with flash enabled in it the two best ones are puffin browser and photon browser,
some have said dolphin or mercury will work but i have had limited success with these browsers and while photon was built mainly for apple / ios / safari devices it will still work on most android devices, *the windows phone is unknown if it will work on it
if there are other android browsers or mac os OR apple browsers for devices with flash im not aware of them at this time
*at this time there is limited info on windows phone users and flash, please contact Microsoft or try general Google for more information

SOME OTHER USEFUL TIPS THAT MAY HELP OUT FOR NOW: for all devices at the moment
PART 1
1- turn off the animations in account settings can help this actually does help some users still for now
2- logging out and clearing your cookies and cache and temp files may help in a few cases but its not really a long term or major fix
3- trying another browser also seems to help some users like going from Firefox to Chrome is a big fix
4- sometimes turning on all items like show all images even on mobile can help even on a PC but you may still incur roaming charges especially if your phone is somehow tied into your computer like thru bluetooth also premium sparkle has no effect on flash
PART 2
1- Install a browser that automatically has flash built in (mercury, dolphin somewhat work, photon and puffin are best)
2- Try a different computer / ip address to see what happens. if this fixes it then the problem is more likely something on your end (exceptions always apply though)
3- Using wifi? try Ethernet connection if possible

if the problem is your avatar then first find a post in the forums where you have posted (this cant be too hard to find one) then just right click the image once and find OPEN IMAGE IN NEW TAB then copy / paste that address and put it in the exception box above

also please check the following places too:
chrome://components/ to make sure your chrome components are up to date. COMPONENT NOT UPDATED just means the plug in or component is up to date and no further action is needed ok and make sure anything on this page here
chrome://flags/ check for anything about flash and then update or enable that too, i found two things related to flash in there to enable, please check here as well

it appears that flash automatically works in explorer but please keep the following info in mind when or before using internet explorer

to change any settings in explorer go to tools then a pop up box for options will show up , go to advanced and check any boxes needed to activate flash however since gaia don't support explorer i doubt many if anyone will be there but it might be an option to use just in case

for Firefox browsers:
there does not seem to be a fix for Firefox at the moment, HOWEVER THIS MAY CHANGE IN THE FUTURE but there does not seem to be any fix and the always run option don't seem to work
SOME USERS... say this article has worked for them but its with limited success of all users on gaia
the best suggestion is to use another browser like puffin for PC or Google or opera. be aware puffin for PC is a low quality browser and does look blurry in some flash games like zomg but at this time as long as you have flash on your computer or laptop you are good to go
puffin uses cloud storage if enabled so its a very modern browser to use for flash and on mobile it has an adobe version built in so you dont need any special thing to use on your phone YAY PUFFIN smile

about torch browser:
Are you having problems with Flash or with Torch plug-ins? heres some info below for you to read to try to help. since its not as common of a used browser ive just included some basic info on this but if you have more info go to the bottom there and click the pm me link ok
You may check "torch://plugins" just paste that into the url address bar (or just the address bar if you prefer) and hit enter or you may reach the same page by clicking on the Menu button Tools menu Then Settings, then scroll down to the bottom and click on "Show Advanced Settings", once there, find the section "Privacy" and click on "Content Settings". In the pop up window you ill find "Plug-ins", and there you can click on "Disable individual plug-ins" You see, it's probably quicker just to paste the "torch://plugins" command into the url address bar or again just into the address bar

about the SAFARI BROWSER:
i don't have any info on this browser since i don't have an apple / ios computer or device but this basic info was found on the internet and seems to be some what universal from different sites

MOBILE DEVICES: such as tablets, phones, etc of that nature
if you want flash to work on your mobile devices you must use a browser with flash enabled in it the two best ones are puffin browser and photon browser,
some have said dolphin or mercury will work but i have had limited success with these browsers and while photon was built mainly for apple / ios / safari devices it will still work on most android devices, *the windows phone is unknown if it will work on it
if there are other android browsers or mac os OR apple browsers for devices with flash im not aware of them at this time
*at this time there is limited info on windows phone users and flash, please contact Microsoft or try general Google for more information

SOME OTHER USEFUL TIPS THAT MAY HELP OUT FOR NOW: for all devices at the moment
PART 1
1- turn off the animations in account settings can help this actually does help some users still for now
2- logging out and clearing your cookies and cache and temp files may help in a few cases but its not really a long term or major fix
3- trying another browser also seems to help some users like going from Firefox to Chrome is a big fix
4- sometimes turning on all items like show all images even on mobile can help even on a PC but you may still incur roaming charges especially if your phone is somehow tied into your computer like thru bluetooth also premium sparkle has no effect on flash
PART 2
1- Install a browser that automatically has flash built in (mercury, dolphin somewhat work, photon and puffin are best)
2- Try a different computer / ip address to see what happens. if this fixes it then the problem is more likely something on your end (exceptions always apply though)
3- Using wifi? try Ethernet connection if possible
