                                        The cruise ship Tranquility first set sail in the summer of 2006, and for the past decade, it has been considered one of the best commercial cruise ships. In order to celebrate ten years of success and good times, the cruise line that owns the Tranquility planned a special anniversary cruise to celebrate the occasion. The ship got an update, the cruise line started blasting social media to try and create a buzz, and they even held a giveaway for a few rooms on board.

                                        The lucky winners of the giveaway and those who were lucky enough to book a cabin on board will get to experience 15 days of fun in the sun as they cruise from Los Angeles to the Hawaiian islands. It'll be a few days before the ship reaches its first stop, but that shouldn't be a problem. There's plenty of stuff on the Tranquility to keep passengers occupied, including some nifty knew additions, and the staff has more than enough events planned to fill your day with. Whether you want to relax by the pool or make some new friends at one of the ship's bars, there's something on the Tranquility for everyone, so kick back and relax. It'll be smooth sailing from here on out.

                                        These are all the things you've read a thousand times by now and probably know by heart: follow Gaia's TOS, no god-modding, keep everything PG-13, etc. Super fancy post formats aren't required, but try to include at least a picture of your character and their name in the format. Also try to avoid using anything larger than size 11 or smaller than size 10 font for the body of your posts in character.

                                        As far as literacy goes, this is more of a lit. break/lazy lit roleplay. You don't have to churn out a novel every post, but I expect at least two or three quality paragraphs per post. I understand that most of us have responsibilities outside of roleplaying. Still, I'd rather you post at least once or twice a week and try to remain fairly active in the out of character thread. Plotting with your fellow roleplayers is definitely a must, as it makes for a more interesting and more pleasant experience overall.

                                        If you're going to have to leave for a while, let me know. I will contact you twice about inactivity before your spot is opened back up. If you don't respond to the first message within 48 hours, I will send another, and if another 24 hours passes without you answering, I will take down your characters. If you get back in touch with me before anyone else applies for the spot, you're free to ask for it back or reapply. As long as you have a decent excuse, I'll probably give it back to you.

                                        As long as your layout isn't obnoxious, I don't care if you have fancy graphics. Just a picture, their name, their location, and who they're interacting with is good enough for me.

                                        I'd prefer you use celebrities or models for face claims, as they tend to have better quality pictures, but you're free to use whoever you want. Just try to avoid scene kids and Victoria's Secret models and make sure your character looks their age - basically, don't try to pass off a thirty year old as an eighteen year old. This roleplay is open to characters of all backgrounds/sexualities/gender identities/etc.

                                        After four long years of pulling all-nighters and living off coffee, these four friends are finally graduating from college. They decided that they deserved to treat themselves for all their hard work, and what better way to do so than with a cruise to the Caribbean? The friends pooled together their resources and were able to afford one of the cheaper rooms on the ship. It'll be a bit of a tight squeeze, but thanks to the pull-down bunk beds, there's a place for each of them to sleep. It's not like they intend to spend much time in the room, anyway.

She couldn't get a refund on the cruise, which had been booked in her name and using her credit card, but she did manage to negotiate a deal: instead of the veranda room and Grand Romance package ____ and her ex originally booked, ____ now has an outside stateroom with a nice view and two of her friends to keep her company.

                                        When Mr. and Mrs. ____ originally booked this trip, it was just meant to be a normal family vacation. A lot's changed over the last few months, though, and unbeknownst to their children, the couple has come to realize that their marriage simply isn't working. Instead of cancelling the trip, they've decided to go and try to pretend to be a happy couple, with the hopes that either a) going on this trip will magically fix things or b) they can give their kids one last memory of them all as a happy family before they tell the kids they're filing for divorce. The ___ family are staying in two connected veranda staterooms, with the parents in 705 and the kids in 707. The two rooms are connected via a door, and there is a partition on the adjoining balconies that can be closed to combine their balcony spaces.

                                        The ____ family are one of the lucky giveaway winners. A little over six months ago, Ms. ___ got the shock of her life when she twisted the cap off a soda bottle and saw tiny little text on the inside telling her she'd won an all-expenses paid cruise. As a single mother of three, she likely wouldn't have had the time nor the resources to take her kids on a vacation if she hadn't won the giveaway. Even if she had been able to afford it, it certainly wouldn't have been as nice of a vacation. The ____s are staying in one of the nicest rooms on board the ship --- a one bedroom concierge suite with a twin pull-out couch and a pull-down bed for the kids. They have access to all sorts of nifty services and areas that non-concierge suite passengers don't, and it should be a very memorable vacation.

                                        With a famous actor and a retired professional athlete for fathers, it's safe to assume the Mulligan kids have had better vacations than most families. What they haven't had, at least in their opinion, are normal family vacations. At some point it occurred to the oldest Mulligan child that normal families don't need a bodyguard to go to Disney or rent private villas for vacations. Feeling like they were missing out on normal experiences, the oldest child started bringing it up to his younger siblings, and after a while, most (if not all) of the siblings joined his cause. With all their kids asking for it, the Mulligan dads set about finding a more "normal" vacation for their family to go on. Eventually it was decided that the most normal vacation they could manage would be going on the Tranquility's 10th anniversary cruise, which the kids deemed good enough. Their plans were kept quiet from everyone but those who absolutely needed to know, in hopes that it would help keep things low-key and private. They're staying in one of the two penthouse suites on the ship, which isn't exactly where a normal family might stay but hey, at least there are normal people nearby.

                                        Inside staterooms are the most affordable accommodations available, though they are also the smallest and have no view or windows. For a slightly higher price, passengers can book an outside stateroom, which is identical to an inside stateroom with one exception: all outside staterooms have scenic ocean views through a closed window or porthole.

                                        Both inside and outside staterooms come with two twin-sized beds, though many feature a pull-out couch (either twin or double) and/or pull-down bunk beds (twin-sized) for larger parties. Both twin-sized beds have adequate under-bed storage space for luggage, and there are also two small closet spaces. Each stateroom features a "split bath," meaning it has one bathroom with a vanity, sink, shower and tub and a half bathroom with a vanity, sink, and toilet. Staterooms also feature a small sitting area with a couch, TV, and desk.

                                        Veranda staterooms are a favorite for families and other groups who can afford them. They are more expensive than both inside and outside staterooms, but the added space and amenities are widely considered worth the price. Veranda cabins are designed to fit up to five persons, and each room features an adjoining private balcony. Patio furniture is provided for the balcony. Veranda rooms are furnished with a queen bed, a single sleeper sofa, a wall pull-down bed and an upper berth pull-down bed. They also have a sitting area that is slightly larger than those of the inside and outside cabins and furnished similarly, with the addition of a heavy privacy curtain that can be pulled out between the sleeping and sitting areas.

                                        Aside from the penthouse suite, concierge suites are the nicest, largest, and most expensive cabins available on the ship. Each concierge suite has separate living and sleeping areas, and the bedroom has a queen bed, an adjoining bathroom featuring a whirlpool tub, and walk-in closets. There is also a half bath connected to the living room, and it is furnished similarly to the sitting areas of other rooms, including the additional sleeping spaces of a pull-out couch (double) and at least one pull-down bed. The suites also have an attached veranda and a wet bar stocked with water and sodas, and passengers staying in these suites have access to special VIP areas of the ships and a personal concierge assigned to their room.

                                        Penthouse suites are a unique luxury. They're by far the most expensive rooms on board the ship, and there are only two at all: one of on either end of deck six. Penthouse suites are similar to the concierge suites, only they are larger and have more amenities. Both penthouse suites have two separate bedrooms, a living room, and an open dining salon. Each bedroom has walk-in closets and an attached bathroom, again with the master bath featuring a whirlpool tub, and there is a separate half bath off of the living room. Penthouse suites also feature a fully stocked pantry and a wet bar stocked with drinks, as well as an adjoining veranda that is larger than most other cabins' verandas.

                                        Like passengers in concierges suites, passengers staying in the penthouse suites have access to VIP areas on the ship and a personal concierge.
