I was cleaning out my box of cards and found a deckbox full of Sailor Moon cards! God knows I don't remember how to play, but I remember going to the card shop with my dad and Mr. Harry, the shop owner, would give me a pack of Sailor Moon cards and a pack of Pokemon cards. C:

The only thing I remember about it (and this is confirmed by an old Top Deck article I'm looking at) is that its combat system is based around rock-paper-scissors.

Cleverly disguised as being called Jan-Ken-Pon.

it wasn't a very deep card game, and I don't think it lasted more than one or two expansions.

Thats all I know.

Oh, man! I remember those! I still have them somewhere, actually.

If I remember correctly, there were monsters, and I think damage was done based on counters that you'd put on the card. I think you needed to kill the monsters before you could beat the big boss, but I'm not too sure.

Ugh, too many card games I played when I was young. stressed

I personally never did anything with mine, I just put them in a deckbox because they were pretty to look at. XD

I played a rough game with my girlfriend once (she didn't have enough cards for a full game). Apparently, major characters from the show were your "hero" cards, and you would use the monster-of-the-week cards to attack one another. Like how Magic: the Gathering uses creatures to attack the players, save that I think you could have more than one "hero." As I said though, she only had so many cards.

And Jan-Ken-Pon is the Japanese name for Rock-Paper-Scissors, though Helvetica Empress may have known that already.

Oh, and I believe that the card game was made by Guardians of Order. They are the ones who made Big Eyes, Small Mouth. The Sailor Moon RPG, which has similar but more complex rules than the card game, was the first major BESM product. And yes, I played that with her as well.

My character was the Solar Sheriff... At least I got guns.

[/unrelated fact] I'm pretty sure the only holofoil card I owned from Sailor Moon packs was a Sailor... Jupiter? Mars? One of the red ones. XD [/fails]

But seriously, did anyone just collect them because they were pretty, or was I the only loser child? XD
