And this one ended up having the trifecta of child character family structure plot points. Tiny protagonist had a dead mommy (and sour relationship with dad's girlfriend), rich girl's parents were divorced, and tiny protagonist's love interest's parents were poor (and never once seen, and only a father and siblings were mentioned for that matter).

What was missing was tiny protagonist getting injured and recovering along with the horse. Which can either be a really good movie like 'The Horse Whisperer' or really s**t like 'Second Chances' (also has spoiled rich girl plot, and poor single parent for the protagonist I believe).

I have not! That is a very good question though. :'v And one I'll need to think on, I've figured out other aspects of her character however.
