Long ago in the land of Arind’Nya, there lived a witch of great power. She was loved and revered by the people. The witch, powerful in the many elements of the land was like a god to the people of her country. She lived in the capitol, Shok’drir, helping the citizens with their troubles. No one knows why she was so eager to please. But this was the reason why she was so beloved. People would go to her with the sick, with the injured, for advice, and with hearts filled with hate. But they would leave her healed and feeling better than they had in many years.

In time the words of the citizens reached the highest of ears. The king learned of the witch’s existence and went to her himself. He dressed in a dark cloak and under cover of nightfall, he found her in the small hobble she lived in. for you see she took no payment in money from those that she helped. She only asked for their happiness. The woman was a true saint. The king saw this and made her an offer. As a figure of power, he was determined to have her happy as well. She wanted to refuse his kindness but he would hear none of it. The man invited her into the court as a royal advisor. She was forced to move to the upper regions of the city. Here she was well taken care of by maids in the vacation home of the king himself. But she never stopped caring for the normal citizens that needed her.

Many years passed before the king suddenly came to her with a proposal. Normally she would not refuse the man for he had done so much for her. But this was ridiculous. She could not comply with his request. He had fallen in love with her. This could not be condoned for the man had a wife! The queen was a kind woman. The witch could not, would not, betray the woman. The king was obviously furious with her answer and demanded that she consider it more thoroughly. She would be his! He wanted her! All the girl could do was shake her head claiming she already had a lover. He saw this as an excuse but pressed the issue no further. She hoped that this was the end of it all. Smiling kindly she bade the king farewell that day.

But it wasn’t over. The king continued to pursue her at every corner. He made sure they wound up alone. And every time he asked her to be his, she denied him. It was not long before the queen learned of the king’s betrayal. She was furious but could do nothing. The queen was left to wallow in her loneliness. But beside the queen was her ever loyal knight. Unbeknownst to the queen, the knight adored her far more than he should. He was in love with her. He would do anything for her. The queen grew ever more jealous of the witch as her husband doted on her. Though the witch truly hated the king’s advancement, she could no longer escape them. The queen, distraught at the very real possibility of losing her husband, turned to her knight for aide. He devised a plan, a horrible plan. Why not make the witch feel the pain she had caused? With hatred in her heart, the queen killed the king late in the night. The very next morning, she screamed and cried as though she had known nothing of it. The knight also feigned ignorance and having been drugged to sleep.

The witch was smitten by a young noble. They spent many days in the other’s company, their love blossoming like wildflowers. The knight came one day while they sat together in the noble’s garden. They were laughing and entertaining the thought of children. The arrival of the night was a foreboding one. With only a simple accusation, the noble was arrested by the knight and the royal guard that followed. He was being blamed for the king’s murder. The witch protested but did not use her magic. After all, her love had ordered her to refrain. All the woman could do was watch as he true love was taken from her in chains. The citizens stared, many began to whisper rumors. She could do naught but cry.

The next morning, the nobleman was executed without a trial. The witch collapsed in despair at the execution. He was beheaded publicly in the most humiliating way, scared and bruised… they had tortured him. The witch cried and cried and cried. Above them all stood the queen with her wicked smile. The witch looked up at her with tears in her eyes. That smile… how could she?! In her sorrow, the witch cursed the queen and the rest of the country. “Misery shall befall all those that love!” She had screamed into the air. The shriek was accompanied by bursts of air. When everything finally settles, the witch was gone. No one knew where she had disappeared to.

Many generations passed and the story of the witch fell into legend. The witch stayed true to her words, keeping all those that loved from living happily. The land became that which knew no joy. As far as the people knew, the citizens were never happy. The royals were also never happy. No one married for love anymore, laughter all but forgotten to the people. And those that ever came close to being happy were cut down mercilessly by the curse. No one understood why they were like this. No one remembered who had cursed them. That is, no one but the scholars of old and the royals whom kept records. Yet they had no way of undoing the curse, despite their many efforts. Over the generations, the royals had contacted mages and wizards for aid, but all failed in the end. They began to despair even more. There seemed to be no hope for any of them.

But the king wasn’t about to let his entire kingdom fall because of a heartbroken witch. With so much misery going around, the economy was beginning to fail. The citizens were starving and poverty was at an all-time high. He had to do something to stop this. It seemed the curse was isolated to only Arind’Nya. As a last resort, the king contacted another nation for aide. After months of debate, it was arranged for his youngest son to wed the princess of that nation. The Second Prince protested with all his being for he loved another. The Pauper was far more to his liking. But she was a commoner and his father would hear nothing of it. The late queen could not protect her son from this heartache. Besides, it was not like the king cared much for his b*****d son anyway. He just wanted to get rid of the boy. The man hated the sight of his youngest son.

The Crown Prince had other plans however. Feeling sympathy for his brother he contacted the other king of his own accord. Behind his father’s back he offered himself as the marriage candidate, pretending to love The Princess. Surely the girl did not care whom she married? It was not like she would have chosen to marry either of them, right? The king of the other nation was ecstatic. So he agreed without any qualms. The Crown Prince chose not to inform his father until after the treaty was already signed. The news of the marriage spread like wildfire across the land. When it reached the ears of The Obsessed Duchess, the woman almost feinted. How could this be?! How could her beautiful prince marry a foreigner like this?! She would not stand for it! So she began to scheme. The Assassin—the man that was always beside The Obsessive Duchess—offered his expertise in this case. The man would do anything for her, yet she saw through him as though he were never there. But just being next to her is enough for him.

All the while The Princess’ loyal knight despaired at the competition. For you see he was also in love with The Pauper. They grew up together. Meanwhile The Witch has awakened once more from her slumber. To survive so long she slept until someone was about to break the curse; In order to ensure her spell lasted forever, she would wake only to forcibly cause misery on those that dared to love. But this time was different. Her soul rejoiced at the sudden feeling. Her love! He was back! But he was among those that she hated. Now awake, The Witch proceeds to the place where her curse may be broken. With so much love and betrayal in the air… there was a chance her curse would not last. And she just couldn’t have that.

The two kings sent their children along with servants and other nobility to a castle hidden in neutral ground. The castle was a place where all royals used for their children to learn of their betrothed. The kings had wed there and now their children would as well. Normally only the two lovebirds and their servants would go but The Crown Prince specifically requested otherwise. Even the kings came to this neutral ground to overlook all preparations.

What will happen in this twisted love story filled with betrayal, hate, conspiracy, heart break and violence?

Their fates are in your hands.

Mwahahahahahaaaaaaa! Yes, this is in paragraph form! Read on and die! Joking of course. Please don't die… D; I want people to live long enough to join. Romance is highly encouraged. But do realize that I really do not want to get banned and I'm sure none of you do too. So please, No cybering! Make an epic black out and time skip. There might be a little contradiction here though. I have eight characters and little to no chance of adding any more ^^;; Now here's the deal. This is more or less one huge love story. Just about every character already has a love BUT that does not mean they can't fall out of love and fall for another! Got it? Good. :3

Anyway, characters… yes, the dreadfully wonderful characters. I will not accept Gary stues or Mary sues. They annoy me and plenty of other people too. So please, come up with interesting and different characters! I love variety! It's okay to have a sad past and stuff, but try not to overdo it. It would just piss me the hell off. D< So, read the mini profiles that are used as the reservation. It will slightly explain a character so you don't end up copying anyone by accident. All the characters have something already pre-established. The Secrets are for that character alone to hold dear unless you wanna have them tell someone. and if you make a character perfect, I will not accept it. So, if I haven't accidentally scared you away yet, please do continue. Oh, and reserving... Come to the OOC and have fun <333 Talk to everyone and be just as active as you would be in the IC thread. Conversations, more twist, friends, anything! I just want everyone to know everyone. Bumping is fun, but if people are talking don't bump, join in, it's annoying talking around bumps. I know what it's like to be ignored, and I must say, I hate it. So please, avoid it if possible. Let us all be friendly with one another. The last thing I need is for people to be criticized as well. If they ask for it, go ahead, otherwise, please be aware of feelings.

Follow the TOS. Make your post pretty or simple, I don't care. No twelve fonts or eleven fonts. Ten fonts only, though in the OOC board feel free to do as you wish. Nine fonts is murder on my eyes, so please don’t use it in the IC. I don’t mind using it anywhere else, just in big blocks of post I don’t want to have to squint and ruin my eyes even more. Also we should all know what literate means. It means at least three (i'll settle for two when characters are interacting one on one) paragraphs, which means more than fifteen sentences. Everyone is able to read it and understand what it all meant at the end. Minimal spelling errors is all I ask. Please don't over curse, or start all your sentences with She or He. Its really annoying to read. EX- She went the bathroom. She picked up her brush. She brushed out her hair. She took her clothes off and got into the shower. She felt the water against her skin. Oh, and don't steal from other people please. =] I'm really not trying to be mean… but I can be ever so strict. I would rather just have everyone have fun though XD

Okay, this may be the longest part of the rules. Or it could be short. Depends on whether or not I ramble on and on and on like I am doing right now. XD So, if you had read all of the rules like you very well should have, or at least skimmed it, you should know that I have said nothing about titles for reservations and profiles yet. =] Lucky for you, I have them here in this section. Reservations are a mini profile and should be filled out. A sample is required. If you are deemed to be literate enough, then welcome aboard. Title it something interesting. I don't care what. Just do so. There are limited spots so please be aware that I can't have a hoard of one type. When you send in the profile, just title it whatever your character choice is. I will have an information section for confusing matters. If you ask it, I will answer it there if I feel it is a large enough issue that others might ask it too xD. Also, if you want to help with plot idea, PLEASE feel FREE! I LOVE PEOPLE THAT LOVE TO HELP! xDDD
