CHARACTER NAME: Arik Diedrich
RACE: Arik was a Warlock when he was alive, Warlock being a separate magical race, not a male witch.
GENDER: Male
AGE Old, he was already sealed in The Armour thousands of years before the Fountain was even thought of. They are now basically extinct…
OCCUPATION Universal terror
MAGIC:Extreme teleportation done by bending the flow of time, complete magical absorbance and perception interference. He can control a dense magical aura mixed in with the conquered souls which takes the dormant form of a corporeal cloak like mantle which can absorb magical attacks and buffet physical ones to an extent.
TALENTS: The Armour is for all outside appearances just that, a suit of armor, but that’s only because that’s how it wants you to see it. It has the innate ability to almost blend into and become so inconspicuous that you’d never really notice it unless you were looking right at it.
The ability to suppress it’s magical presence too making it undetectable by magical means. Arik can also ‘see’ in full 360 vision via the cloak like condensed aura that surrounds his body, and can taste all the magic in the surrounding area, allowing him to expect what the magic his opponent is using and from which direction it’s coming.
FLAWS: As all magic that approaches his body is absorbed, Arik is more or less invulnerable to magical attacks, he is NOT however invulnerable against physical attacks, though he can definitely take a beating. Another weakness is, that he absorbs all magic that comes into contact with it, if too much magic is absorbed the vessel like body would start to destroy its self like an over filled water balloon.
PERSONALITY: Twisted, cold, malicious, clever, well spoken. They say genius is one step away from madness, and Arik was much, much, more than a genius. During his lifetime Arik was feared as the greatest magical threat that had ever walked the earth. He was someone that could fell entire civilisations, remove them from the history books and stub out any lives that mentioned its name from then on. And he enjoyed it. Arik takes great glee in watching others suffer against something that they have no control over, like the moon crashing into the ocean, or all the volcanoes on a continent erupting in unison, and things like that. He has an urge to become more powerful, to become a god, and when he was living, he wasn’t that far off it…
BIOGRAPHY: The Armour seems to just ‘be there’ no one really knows where it came from, no one can explain its purpose, obviously at one point it was used to protect some sort of warrior but as of now little is known about it other than the fact that it exists.
Though this next chapter has been forgotten from through the ages and has long since been wiped from living and dead memory, it is still important
The Armor is in fact more dangerous than could ever be imagined, The Armour is a prison for a number of souls, souls so incredibly pernicious and malevolent that hell refused to take them in. The souls were instead sealed inside container after container until The Armour was chosen. After it was thought that nothing more could be done, The Armour was sealed inside its own prison like room, deep, deep below ground level in the hopes that it would forever remain out of the hands of anyone at all. It had remained there until it’s accidental discovery though by then it was FAR too late…
Thousands of years before the Fountain, generations before the elders that make up the statues surrounding the school, there WAS no elders…. Only powerful mages scattered throughout the land from various races and species. These mages lived much of their lives keeping the world in balance, keeping a watchful eye on each other. Among these mages was Arik, a Warlock. Warlocks were both feared and respected beings, their civilisation much older than that of the humans. Some even say that Warlocks were responsible for human evolution, or that that they are aliens that took on human shape. Another claim they were a tribe of gods banished from the heavens and worshiped them as such, which is more believable with the evidence of this scattered throughout the lands such as the pyramids and Stonehenge. Whatever they were it was certain that they were indeed powerful if not few in number and with a strict code of conduct and honour, except for Arik…
Arik was a bad seed, something that escaped the culling that Warlocks needed to perform at births to separate evil auras from good. Warlocks believed in destiny, they believed that someone was born with a personality and didn’t learn it, and for Arik they were right. Arik was picked out to be sacrificed due to his dark aura, but his mother couldn’t go through with it. She fled from the reaches of the tribe, hiding herself by suppressing her aura down to an unidentifiable blip on the radar.
Years later and after slaughtering his own mother out of curiosity Arik returned to the Warlocks to take control of the species as a ruler. They went down fighting, refusing to see Arik as anything but a pile of bones… with so little of them left, the Warlock race died out after a few thousand years…
After a reign of bloody terror and suffering spanning hundreds of years Arik was brought to justace by a council of elders formed from the highest ranking magus around the planet, this council sentenced Arik to death and for his soul to be banished to hell for all of eternity… However hell didn’t want Arik for fear of an uprising… This led to his soul being contained on earth, sealed forever more and his body destroyed. Thousands upon thousands of years and a few hundred generations of elders later, Arik found himself sealed in The Armour along with countless other powerful mages that shared his circumstances.
The last elders Arik came into contact with were an ill informed bunch, the story behind The Armour had been forgotten and changed over the generations into something totally untrue apart form the need for it to be sealed and protected from evil hands. That is exactly what they did, sealing The Armour in a magic proof tomb at the bottom of a natural catacomb like structure beneath the earth where it lay undisturbed for hundreds of years….
APPEARANCE:XXX The Armour although sealed away underground, still sparkles with an unnatural polish as if it was freshly forged yesterday. This is set off entirely by the rugged condition of the fabric components that are also present. The black tinted metal gives a cold feeling and no mater the conditions of the weather still feels as chill as an autumn night. The glowing red eyes featured on the picture are not present until it ‘activates’
It stands at approximately 8 feet and weighs around 500 pounds.
XXX Arik’s body is made up partly of the suit of armour and partly the condensed souls and aura that flow through and around him to make up the large expandable mantle, hair like flows of from the warped helm and around the metallic structure of his ‘face’ like a shifting skin of sorts. The armour underneath the aura has warped, bend and broken to become more like his natural face, though it features several rows of dagger like metal teeth and four glowing eyes that stream the same aural like substance, though the streams from the eyes are linked directly to Arik’s own soul giving them a vastly different colour. His boots are the same as they were on the original armour, as are his gauntlet like hands though they appear to have slightly longer and sharper points to the fingers. The rest of his armour like body is mostly hidden by the mantle, though glimpses during movements reveal that his upper body has warped to resemble a natural muscle structure of a male being His lower body remains that of the pointed and jagged armour like that of his boots.
