The Shape of Who I Am: Her most striking feature is her large, doey eyes, set over lips that are more full than one would expect given her generally slight build, and that are usually smiling wide, unguarded smiles. Indeed, her expressing, sunny, smiling face is her biggest selling point, and is what the marketing specialists prefer to highlight in photo shoots. She is not tall, and neither particularly skinny nor curvaceous, and has mediocre bust and hips. Her shyness and meekness make her posture defensive, so she looks smaller and younger than she really us because she is usually drawn up into herself. She tends to avoid eye contact when talking, squeezing her arms against herself, and bunching slightly down and toying at the ground with her feet while smiling and blushing - a trait that has endeared her to her fans.
How I Present Myself to the World: Violette absolutely loves anything lacy, or frilly and flowing, with bows and ribbons galore, and not just for her stage clothing. Even her day-to-day clothing consists mostly of dresses - from simple, light summer dresses, to layered, lacy outfits - always in light colours, never darks. She doesn't even own a pair of jeans or sweatpants, and the only pair of shorts she owns is solely for the purpose of being worn over her swimsuit. She also accessorizes with bows and ribbons as if it were a fetish, at the very least usually tying her hair up in two bunches.
What Marks Distinguish Me?: Other than a pair of piercings on each ear, no distinguishing marks.

:Personality
Despite her fame and success, Violette was always painfully shy and weak-willed. She lacked the spirit to be assertive, or even to make eye contact with people. Her life was controlled by her parents, her publicists, her image managers and her partner. Whatever anyone said, Vi did; whatever it took to avoid confrontation.
Or at least, she would do whatever it took to make it look like she was compliant. Secretly, she is quite vindictive, spiteful, and petty, and when people ask her to do something she does not want to do, rather than simply having the courage to say no, she will say yes, but do something to secretly sabotage the effort. Either that, or she will take a spiteful revenge on them because they forced to do something she did not want to do (even though that is usually not true – a simple “no, thank you, I would rather not” would have gotten her out of it). She holds long grudges against people that she feels push her around, even if they were not really pushing her around – Violette blames them for her own weakness. She is not aggressive in that she will never take anyone or anything head on, but she will fight dirty, secret wars against anyone that she feels has harmed her, and she will be nasty about it.
But Vi is growing up, and she is, for the first time in her life, finding strength in herself to find her own path. She still lacks the courage to face confrontation directly, and she still begrudges stronger people that she ends up submitting to because she cannot sum up the courage to say no, but she is quietly and carefully exploring her own assertiveness. Coming to Emerald Hills Academy was the first thing she has ever chosen to do on her own in her life (although, it wasn’t much of a battle because her parents did not raise any objections). Her secret considerations about joining girl-group Morning Breeze are another symptom of a growing backbone... and that decision would lead to serious conflicts, but Violette is slowly growing more and more determined... it is too early to say whether she will have strength enough to do it despite everything.

:Biography
Even as a small child, goaded on by her parents, Violette loved to perform. A painfully shy child, she would never play or interact with other children, but whenever she got the chance to perform for anyone – parents or children – Violette would rise to the occasion. There was no doubt that she was a natural. Everyone said it, her parents believed it. They started grooming Violette for a life on stage, and Violette didn’t mind – in fact, she was thrilled about it. She had always been unable to make friends, but whenever performing, she felt like everyone in the room was a personal friend of hers, and she performed for each and every one of them personally.
At first, it was an activity as far as her parents were concerned – like after-school clubs – but before long it became an obsession. They enrolled Violette in play after play, pageant after pageant, with such growing frequency that school became almost pointless and they were hiring tutors. And while hiring tutors to teach academics, they hired vocal coaches, acting coaches, piano coaches, guitar coaches, dancing coaches. Nothing but the best for their little rising star Violette, and it started to pay off handsomely. On the one hand, Violette was sorry about being taken out of school, but on the other the thrill of performing to bigger and bigger audiences took the sting out of it. She had never been much for making friends at school anyway.
Eventually, her budding career was her life, and she pained for social contact with people her age, but at the same time was too meek to tell her parents to tone down their thrust to make her a star... and too shy to make friends with any people her age she came into contact with anyway. It was about this time that her parents finally noticed her true gift.
Violette’s greatest strength had always been her singing voice – she wasn’t a bad actress, but she would never be one of the greats, and her dancing was... let’s be generous and call it mediocre. It took some time to notice it, because Violette always spoke so softly, and even stuttered when she spoke normally, but she was always humming and singing wordless tunes to herself, and eventually her parents noticed how powerfully her voice opened up on stage. They quickly jumped on this, hiring vocal coaches to make her powerful and angelic voice even more so. One of them finally noticed that the wordless tunes that Violette hummed and sang to herself were... beautiful. Simply beautiful. She pointed this out to Violette’s parents... and a career was born.
A talent agent was hastily contacted, and upon hearing Violette’s vocal audition was surprised that so young a girl had such a powerfully nuanced, adult voice. But more importantly, she recognized the potential in Violette’s little tunes. She quickly arranged a meeting between Violette and a boy who had a gift for lyrics. Although Violette was reluctant about the meeting, and horrifically shy through it, in the end, after tentatively crafting a song together with the other boy, she saw, for the first time, one of her wordless tunes become a song... a real song. Driving home after the meeting, her parents were unsure about the pairing (envisioning that Vi would be a solo artist), but seeing that Violette was so satisfied, they gave it their blessing.
And Sparc en Ciel was born. Violette was given an image to fit – girlish, feminine, fascinated with flowery things – that was partly based on her actual personality, and partly crafted by her image people to capitalize on her youth and youthful appearance. Violette fell into the role without complaint... at first.
They charted right away – not spectacularly, but still on the charts – and slowly rose to moderate fame with further pop hits. Violette’s music was infectious and catchy – at the request of the marketing people and the band manager more so than what she wanted to write – and Sparc en Ciel developed a cult fan following. Violette adored the fans, and interacted closely with them – which just made them love her more – and her trademark sunny smile, bad dancing and hand gesture became signals shared amongst the fans like club handshakes. Violette was never so happy as when a complete stranger would smile at her from across the street and raise her trademark hand signal, to which she would raise it reply, smile and wink.
But despite all of this, Violette started to quietly chafe at the fact that she was being marketed as a “child sensation” even though she was in her teens (her small frame and child-like large eyes and unguarded smile made this possible). She started grow tired of writing bubblegum pop and wanted to try something more serious and adult. She tried dropping subtle hints to her parents and managers, but they wouldn’t even hear of it. “Don’t break the formula”, they would say. Violette started to grow more resentful of Sparc en Ciel.
Then, through private channels, she was approached by the manager for a well-known girl group called Morning Breeze. Their oldest member was retiring from the band (to become a mother), and they wanted a fresh young face. Career wise, it was a dream come true: Morning Breeze’s records sold a thousand times more than Sparc en Ciel’s. From an artistic standpoint, it was compelling: the band appealed to a much more mature image, she would get to draft her own “persona” and each member of Morning Breeze got to write at least one song each album, with total creative control. And from a personal standpoint, it was liberating: the thrill of finally doing something on her own – without her parents arranging it all for her – was quite appealing to Violette.
The invitation to Emerald Hills Academy came at a time when she needed to breathe, and her parents agreed – although they didn’t understand what she was going through, they sensed she needed a break. Unknown to them, Violette had questions to wrestle with: whether to leave Sparc en Ciel behind and join Morning Breeze, and most importantly... how to become herself, on her own terms.
