It's me, your friendly admin. No, really, it's actually me. There have been a lot of shady hucksters impersonating Gaia staff in private messages lately, trying to trick you into giving up your password. We wanted to give you a heads up on how to spot these clowns so that you can better keep your account safe.
One of our many dedicated moderators put together this handy guide showing some of the common techniques used by scammers. We recommend you take a few minutes to review it, even if you're the sort that never gets swindled.
As many of you know by heart, Gaia mods and admins will never ask you for your password. If you run across anyone demanding that info from you, please report them immediately. Getting rid of scammers is something we're always eager and happy to do.
