...|[Appearance:] Tall and thin, prefers to wear long sleeved shirts with a high collar. Wears black suits in the Dr. No/Mao style. Keeps his hair short, but long enough to run his fingers through. Smiles easily but rarely sincerely.

...|[Personality:] Normally a smooth-talker and charming individual, Delmin has been continually thrown off balance since arriving at the Pantheon and receiving Jin Huang's gem. As a result, he has been behaving erratically, and has a tendency to offer sarcasm to those he interacts with. He remains defensive of things he regards as his, or being under his protection, and is quite worried about the members of the cult he thinks he abandoned.


Personality: There is no easy way to describe Delmin's personality; he can be glib and charming, telling people everything they want to hear, and yet there remains a hint of sharpness and cynicism behind it all. He does care about the followers he has attracted over the years, and remains somewhat possessive regarding them. While he knows the truth about the cult and compound, he does see himself as the provider and guarantor of the continued well-being of those around him. This is what led him to make the deal with Seir, even though dealing with a demon would likely get him killed by the others. He can be slightly mercenary in his dealings; if it doesn't end up benefiting him, or the cult members, he won't go through with it. This tendency can be easily manipulated by those who know about it.
History: Delmin hails from an Earth like many others throughout the multiverse. Magic is viewed as superstition by most, and outright lies by others, especially among religious factions. While not technologically advanced, this Earth isn't entirely behind the curve either.
Born to Egyptian immigrants, Delmin was raised as a Muslim, and had a fairly typical childhood. When he was in college, however, he met a recruiter from the Church of Scientology. Having become disillusioned with the faith of his childhood, Delmin eventually joined the Church and spent the next five years as a member. In that time, he progressed through the lower ranks, and gradually came to the realization that this was nothing more than an incredibly elaborate scam. Managing to break free from the Church after a prolonged legal battle, Delmin resettled in western Montana, after changing his name to Delmin Brock to distance himself from his past.
Eventually running out of money, Delmin set himself and his property up as a retreat, allowing various groups to rent it out. While this kept Del at the break-even point, he wanted more, and so created his own, small time religion. A few of his friends from college were living with him when he came up with this idea; they became the first members of the cult, although they knew the truth, and were not averse to scamming people for money.
It was around this time that the first touches of Harmodius' influence began to be felt, and Del's 'religious sanctuary' was at first eagerly sought out, thanks to clever Internet advertising. After nothing major happened regarding the end of the world, many of the people trickled away, leaving Del with only a handful of people still around. This cycle would continue each time the force of decay expanded, and the compound, before the Fall, was populated by a competent, if cynical, staff.
The Fall, or the Troubles, or whatever name people apply to it, was when the full force of Destruction's influence washed over this section of the multiverse. War erupted almost overnight, carving huge craters out of the landscape, and killing off most of the population. Under-populated areas were spared the initial force of destruction, including Del's secluded compound in Montana. However, survivors of the initial strikes made their way into these areas, turning them into secondary war zones as the 'natives' fought back against those attempting to claim their resources.
Del's group made out alright, due to the nature of extremist religious retreats. Although well stockpiled with food and guns, they did lose a few people, but with careful screening managed to increase the number of people dwelling within. No one really believed Del to be a great spiritual leader anymore, and he was about to admit the truth to everyone when a well-dressed and well-kept gentleman showed up one night. His name was Seir, and his arrival would change everything.
Seir was a demon, with a particular soft spot towards humanity in general, and watching everything slowly fall apart tore at him. He observed several camps of humanity eking out a living before finally, on a hunch, settling on Del's compound. His offer to Del included not only as much protection as Seir could offer against whatever else lurked out in the ruins of the world, but also from the overall taint of Destruction. Del accepted this offer without much thought, or any explanation of what he'd have to give in return. Seir then formed a pact between them, represented by Del's new tattoos.
Life continued on, and if anyone noticed that there were fewer gangs wandering about, no one was inclined to mention it. Everything had settled into a routine; every so often new people would show up, intent on living here, where one of God's Prophets (for that was what Del was now being billed as, leaving the question as to which God quite open) was dwelling, protecting those in need. After they were screened and more than a little indoctrinated, they were admitted into the general populace, where if one or two went missing every so often, who was going to notice? A few people did, of course, but they were often the next one to disappear, giving everyone else the impression that asking too many questions was detrimental to your health.
This continued on for several years, with Del's cult-in-truth steadily expanding, thanks to the careful management of both demon and human. Occasionally, the 'Voice on Earth' needed to get away from everyone else, which was easily managed under the guise of a religious event. On one of these retreats, Del and Seir discovered a rift or tear in the fabric of reality. Seir was initially wary, while Del was fascinated by it. Seir eventually relaxed and outwardly seemed indifferent about the rift. Del has now been spending most of his time while on retreat in front of the rift, listening to something that's been calling to him, a voice he can no longer hear...
