Halloween Mini-Event!
All Hallows Eve is well regarded by the people of Dorhaven as a time when spirits touch the land, and dark magic thrives on ritual and superstition. Wizards tread softly even while they engage in thrills, tricks and games, lest they accidentally wake more than they had bargained for.
Dragons are closely tied with the magic of the holiday, wizards expecting hatchlings can never predict whether their egg will hatch into a benevolent spirit, or a soul-eating monster. One amateur breeder found himself with one of each, and now he's looking to sell them to whichever wizards can handle them. Not far from the breeder's rookery, our esteemed High Wizard Arhk has been having some issues of his own. Halloween's fast approach keeps him on his toes, and not just by dealing with his assistant's increasingly unprofessional costuming. Not long ago he finished reprimanding a trio of terrified magical students. Although they were all very bright, talented wizards-in-training, they lacked the wisdom to avoid meddling with advanced magic and ended up poking a hole in... something. Now Arhk has to close the hole, and track down all the little... somethings, that escaped.
Except he can't find the things, and he can't find the hole.
Find-a-Dragon Game
While Arhk is sending everyone from teachers to administrative staff to hunt down the little things, you can also go hunting! Several little dragons are hidden throughout the thread, guild, and other places, and you get to save and keep whatever you find. But there are some things to consider.
* You can't give dragons(or their locations) away, you can only keep what you find fair and square.
* Dragons are drawn to chatter and conversation. (Arhk would throw a fit if he knew posting had something to do with dragons escaping into Dorhaven.)
* These things are not quite escaped spirits, and not quite dragons, and are not to be used in any RP. (After all, Arhk will declare owning such a thing to be illegal if he realizes they aren't all being turned in to the authorities.)
* Yes, the little dragon on this page counts as your first dragon. ^_~
* Arhk will probably send all the little creatures back after Halloween, so enjoy them while they are available!
There are currently 57 dragons to find!
It seems as though some dragons like to cluster together, and finding all the right dragons might lure some more out of hiding. If you think you've found any of the groups listed below, you can PM Arhk Johil with the dragon images to try luring out more!
* Four dragons with Halloween colours
* Two sea slugs
* One pair of twins
* A piece of Bach (added Oct. 23)
* Something with a sheet and something with a grin
Find a piece of coal during your hunt? Feel free to PM it to Arhks Little Helper so he can clean it up. ^_^
This dragon base has also been used by me on the Wajas site (as Grey, #9664), so don't fret if you've seen them around over there too. <3
