RULES

  1. Be respectful of the Shop and others.
    This is meant to be a fun place. If you're feeling upset, take a break and come back later.
    There's no reason to be rude to anyone.

  2. Be a good sport.
    If you don't win something, don't whine or make others feel bad or guilty about it. Put on a smile and move on.
    There will be other chances!

  3. Do not steal, copy, trace, or otherwise edit the artwork.
    Not only is this illegal, it will swiftly get you banned from the shop. This goes back to rule #1. Respect the shop.
    Respect those who put time into the work. This goes for any art made by other customers as well.
    Small changes to art like resizing it to fit in your sig, or editing a santa hat onto a gecko for xmas is ok - it just won't be considered official.

  4. You may NOT resell your gecko.
    You may re-home geckos yourself, for free, or give them back to the shop and we will re-home them for you.

  5. Join Discord Chat
    Ok so not technically a rule, more of a suggestion! Some games or announcements may be exclusive
    to Discord Chat only - if you don't want to miss out, we suggest you join up! It's simple, Promise. c:


POLICIES

  • Roleplay is not required.
    This really isn't an "RP Shop". However, you're welcome to RP if you'd like to!

  • Naming Theme
    As long as your name doesn't contain curse words, and is otherwise PG-13 per Gaia's TOS, it's legit.

  • Pet Claiming Rule
    All geckos from ANY events/customs/breedings must be posted for certing within 14 days, or they risk being reclaimed by
    the shop to be re-homed/used in a different event. If you need an extension on this timeframe just shoot the mule a PM.

  • Maximum Pets
    There's no limit on the overall amount of Geckos you can own. However we do have event/custom/breeding limits.
    For example, if there's more than 1 Flatsale, you may win 1 pet from each unless stated otherwise.

    Events :: Limit 1 win per game pot, flatsale, free raffle, and paid raffle.

    Customs + Breedings :: To give everyone a chance, there is a limit of 2 customs AND 2 breedings per month, per customer.
    This only applies to slots given by colorists in the guild. Slots won during events do not count unless otherwise stated.

  • Linking Images
    Do not Direct Link! Use your own image host to save and link to images, please.
    DO NOT USE PHOTOBUCKET! It has the tendency to crash people's computers, and is just horrible. Don't use it.

    Once Upon a Time...
    .. there was a cute little takeout place located in Downtown Gaia. They weren't very well known, and the shop
    was rather small. So small, in fact, that it was barely a hole in the wall and it was a wonder they were in
    business at all. Yet, even so, every late afternoon, around 5pm, they'd open their window to take orders.

    Except, there was something rather strange -- even suspicious -- about this place.

    You see, their menu didn't contain the typical items one might expect. Instead, they offered something
    very different indeed. Things which came in all sorts of strange colors, and shapes, and sizes.

    And had cute little toes, and tails, and faces.

    That's right -- Geckos.

    Geckos everywhere.

    Was it eccentric? Sure

    Awesome? Totally.

    Thing is, you never quiiiite know what you're getting. Some of these guys come in some really wacky colors,
    and a few have even been known to have mutations. Just what are they stuffing these guys with, anyway?

    These geckos are mostly known for their fat tails, and ease of handling. Leopards do well in captivity,
    and are often considered a "beginners" pet. Be gentle with them, or they may pop their tails off when stressed!

    Seasonal Shop
    G2G is a "seasonal" shop! This means that most of the events will take place during holidays, or to mark special occasions!
    Of course, that doesn't mean there won't be the odd flatsale here and there, or a game or two to keep things lively!

    Availability
    The various methods of acquiring geckos!


    Events :: Large-scale events may happen for special occasions during the year, and often feature a number
    of the other methods mentioned below.
    All of these will usually be posted on page 2 of this thread when available.

    Games :: Games are always free of charge and have their own rules.

    Flatsales :: Flatsales are usually Speed Sales or "Flaffes" [winners are RNG'd]. Entering is free, but winners
    will need to pay the Flatsale price.

    Raffles :: These may be Free or Paid. Both determine winners via RNG. In Paid Raffles, customers may
    purchase tickets for themselves or friends.

    Contests :: These are also free, but tend to have requirements where creativity is often the main component.

    Auctions :: Customers may place bids on a Gecko. The highest bid wins. There will always be a snipe guard in
    place -- usually put into effect 30 minutes before the end of the Auction. Only those who have previously bid may
    place new bids once the Snipe Guard Effect begins.

    Color Restrictions?
    Not really! G2G seems to have unlocked the secret to breeding Gecks of various colors and patterns.
    Super colorful geckos will generally be more rare than more 'natural' color geckos, but they definitely
    exist, as does anything in between.

    Breeding?
    Geckos can be any gender combination, and can even be bred in groups of up to 4 individuals!

    Growth Time/Stages?
    Cookie to Juvenile = 1-2 weeks.
    Juvenile to Adult = 1-2 months. Adult stage is a permanent stage and doesn't grow.
    Adult Geckos have 4 available poses for each species.

    More Species?
    As the shop expands, so too will our list of available species!

    Crunchy Crickets?
    These are a type of special in-shop currency that can be used for all sorts of things. If you see one,
    be sure to quote the post to catch it, or claim it in Discord chat! The [ Cricket Counter ] thread is used for tracking your claims!

    Gold vs Platinum?
    G2G is fully converted to the new Platinum currency. 1P = 10,000,000 gold.
    If you'd like to switch over, go to Account Settings and click "Platinum" to switch!
