What Do The Acheviment Points Do?

I mean realy theyre just sitting up there collecting pixelated dust. What good are they in the long run? Are they gonna open up some shop so we can cash our points in? Or is it the person with the most wins something? All i know if theyre just there to make gaia better it was better without it cause its just adding to the lagg in the site. So if they have a good reason i will keep mine actived until then good bye acheivment bar

But apparently that's what the achievements are for, someone quoted Lanzer from an Ask the Admin session in some thread about backwings (good luck finding the post or the thread, though!, sometimes I think the GCD is meant to be about backwings).

Oh, I agree. I don't really see the appeal of backwings when we've got a shitload of wing items already. It just bothers me that I won't be able to get an item that's pretty much supposed to be free (even though it's the reward to a quest, it's not like you have to pay actual money to get it done), all because I live far, faaaar away from any convention that involves Gaia. XD

If you count in all the 'maybe-s'... maybe it could be for an X amount of points, and not for must-complete-all-the-achievements.
