Since many people are creating the same topics in the SF, I thought it would be a good idea to list or link them here and create a list of the top 10 problems affecting Gaia.

Many people would like to hear from an admin/dev/mod the possible reasons why some features on Gaia are not working and a possible ETA on a solution for it.

This thread is open for anyone to voice their opinion and post their problems. Please post your problem here, after the first 10 have been posted, I will create a poll to see how many people think which problem is the most important to them.

The list is in no way in order of importance, it's in post order.

1. Marketplace: Enabling 3 letter keyword search.

OMG, AFK, G Pin, and G-Bot among other things cannot be searched.

Search field seems to be limited. Searching for a general word like tops does not generate any results when there are many type of tops.

2. Add more moderators to the site to lower the user per moderator ratio and unburden the workload for the current ones.

3. Teleporter for the Gaia world map is not functioning.

4. Gaia Homes. I think this is already addressed in plenty around the Q&A. A new map is needed for people to place their homes.

5. Gaia Towns - Currently there are many users who cannot access towns. The Towns window hangs and doesn't load fully or it does not load at all.

That was a very long time ago, there were so many topics in the QnF during those days. People asking questions and fighting over site problems. xD

The very first one that comes to mind is the marketplace. Everybody is complaing about it, and some people are even boycotting it. A very defanite problem.

Can you be more specific? It would look better to know what the problem is and get a faster response.

Thank you, pinpointing the problem would make it easier to address the problem of the marketplace.

Things I've seen on the marketplace- people complaining about the search function.

For example, you can search for "pants" and get all items with 'pants' as part of their name, but try searching for "top" and you get nothing, even where there are tops on the first page of clothing.

Anything was that they try searching for "crumpled xerox paper" and get anything with crumpled, xerox, or paper in the name.


And one of mine was that on some items, I try to buy them, when there is only a "buy now" option, and I get "Transaction Lock found on vend table, please try again" but only on some items, and not others.

Admins/Devs/Mods should post more ANNOUNCEMENTS of when they make such changes that affect everyone, such as the "new" marketplace search engine.

I agree that a major change in a function should be announced and with directions on how to use the new system.

Maybe the keywords are limited to certain words now and not all items will appear in the marketplace unless you specficially write the name of the item you want.

actually from what I've gathered, you can put searches in quotations and get the exact results...

ex: Angelic Scarf
gives you everything with scarf or angelic in its name

-however-

using quotations: "Angelic Scarf"
gives you just that.

So using quotations does work to get the exact results you need.

The old system didn't need the quotation marks and gave you the exact results too.

Now if you type in without the quotation marks, it gives you a barrage of items with keywords you typed in.

Isn't the new system more efficient?

Using your example, can you search for Summer and get a hit with Sandy Summer Top?

If not, maybe keyword search is limited to the first word of every item.

I'd really like to see something done about unfair bannings (and please don't anyone waste my time by telling me that all bans are fair). For instance, the person in my signature- a long time gaia user, monthly donator and I'm not talking about 5 or 10 bucks a month... she actually donates a shocking amoung to most of us. And donates to other users- yet was banned for botting. WTF? Why would someone so dedicated to this site reduce themselves to botting? Please. I gotta call bullshit on this one.... And she is by far not the only one.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't think mods should be allowed to permaban anyone. That should be done by admin only and after considerable review on a case like this.
