@SakuraMota: Petitions do work. I made a petition for FMA items and a few months later, the Loyal Jay was made. The artist told me that it was because of my petition. 3nodding

That's the first instance I've heard of a petition ever working. But I think petitions for items are a bit different than petitioning for subforums, as a subforum is, if you'll forgive me, a bit bigger and more important than an item being made.

@E-lo: I would have to agree, say any thread that is frequented by Gaia user. Like the ones in the second post of this thread- and the others that I have yet to hear back from the 'OPs'.

Also, threads that would be made there would be basic Pokemon questions, team building help, whats your favorite pokemon bla bla bla, basic threads we already have, tourneys, and personally I would hope for a sticky thread with a guide to IVs/EVs and then have it open for all people who might have questions and what not so us more experienced trainers/breeders can go and give pointers and help. That thread alone will cut spam threads down.

Plus it's be nice for casual players (those who dont EV/IV train) to have a place to find others to battle with. (like me sweatdrop )
