it is how much $ u make. and how much u use gaia. i am on gaia every day. i know i have payed over $200 over the years. i saw some people payed $ 1000 for a dumb haLo neutral
if u have the $ why not, some items Look good and u never know what might come out for what an item can do othere then how it Looks. i don't see at all how it is stupid.
So u know my small website cost me $1000 and now $1 per month
u can bet gaia would cost more. So it is sort of stupid to not pay a bit when i think of it.

I agree with you when it comes to all the sales and Flynn's booty and verge sales, I'm a verge member I can afford all of that but I won't waste money on it, its not fair on most users because the business has gotten greedy I will pay for an ei or monthly c I love. The employees need support too we've being seeing many complaints by them on review sites recently also.

Well at least we have something concrete for the rumors I heard.

Eh, people have brought this link up in two other threads now and one of them was moved to CB. It also didn't seem to convince any of Gaia's enablers, because they just deem any negative review worthless because they "don't know if the employee was fired" or "Oh, but OF COURSE negative reviews are the LOUDEST!"-- As if the multiple negative reviews don't mean jack s**t. Nothing is good enough and everything is a lie to hurt poo' widdle Gaya's feewings. rolleyes

That's very surprising. After their blatant screw-ups and mismanagement of new features and clear indications that they're becoming ignorant to the suggestions and complaints that we (the Gaians) have about what's going on, you'd think few people would be left to side wi- ALL HAIL HYPNOGAIA!

You all have to freaking consider that Gaia IS a BUSINESS. (almost) Always have been and always will be (though I admit that they're demanding more money nowadays). Gaia can't just run on adds. They need money from the users to pay its employees to keep the site running. Gaia Cash is not the problem here (in fact; it adds more items spreading the gold in the MP thinner).

THE PROBLEM IS WHAT GAIA IS DOING IN ORDER TO GET THE CASH. Offering Flynn's Booty, which pays decent gold most of the time. Flynn's booty pumped WAY TOO much gold into the system, and that cause inflation. Kenny stated that the team did the numbers and said that any effect the stupid RIG would have would be minimal, if it even existed, and could be put down in minimal time. Of course, we can all see that that was not true. Flynn's Booty has caused monstrous inflation and you can bet that it is going to stay for a while.

Once again, GAIA CASH IS NOT THE PROBLEM. Cash items actually add new competition in the MP, which eventually reduce prices. Gaia needs to add new, effective gold sinks into the site. Many of the ideas you all have would do; luxury items for Gold, making already existing features more appealing, etc.

PS: denouncing the MP is a bad idea. It's the main gold sink. (though many people are already waiting it out until the prices go down)

Just want to make two notes on your comments.

1) We're not against GC. We're currently just boycotting it until Gaia gets their s**t together.

2) A gold sink is something that takes gold completely out of the system. The MP is definitely not that. Buying right now only encourages prices to go higher because sellers know they can get more with all the extra gold. If the prices go too high, they'll never reset completely.

I'm afraid kids on here are too ignorant and too selfish/greedy to even bother as long as they still have their parent's credit cards.
Also, I'd not be surprised if Gaia itself would inflate the prices by using anonymous accounts to hoard items and then sell them for inflated prices, specially to promote their cash shop items.
Of course they would deny it, but it's a ruthless business keeping a website like this running and still making a profit, specially seeing that the user number isn't the biggest I've seen on online communities.

Gaia will only wake up when people start leaving the site altogether.

Ha ha. I believe you misinterpreted my comment. (And here I thought I clued in the sarcasm with the emote, oh well.)

I was using an adjective to describe the richness of a person (by way of a hyperbole) not a person being stupid for being rich nor stupid for spending on what they want. I think your comment would be better for the person whom I responded to instead.
