I've been on Gaia since 2004, and I still remember when 20k was a lot for an item classified as 'rare' (example, I bought Penguin Slippers for 16k back in the day). I've never been an avid buyer of Gaia Cash, but I have sunk at least $100 into GC in the past year or so since I started taking on paypal commissions. I never seem to have enough for the 'good items', but if there's an evolving item I like than I might splurge on it.

While the Offers are a great thing, there never seems to be any available when I go to do them. It doesn't matter what time it is during the day, but that seems to be the case with everyone. The other offers are there to complete as well, but even those can only go far and you don't always qualify for them.

I probably won't be purchasing any more Gaia Cash for a while, and I would like to see Gaia focus more on items that work like EI's and what not for Gaia gold. There is a serious lacking of gold shop updates, and these flash sales for Gaia Cash items are getting out of hand.

You know, it never crossed my mind how few gold shop updates there actually are.
I see cash shop updates all the time that I guess I forget that gold shops can actually be updated. So far this entire year we've had how many gold shop update? 2? 3?
Probably enough to count on one hand. The ratio of gold shop updates to cash shop updates is rather horrid.

Sept: Oh my TWO GS updates! WOW!



Yeah, that's totally 2-3 updates. /sarcasm

While the majority of GS updates this year were CrosStitch-related, it's still a GS and therefore counts as a GS update. Next time, do some research before saying something inaccurate like that.

i cant even remember when i last visited a store
bottom line gaia is not getting my gold or cash
i could buy expensive items but i wont, sick of gaia and its money hungry attitude

We do get gold shop updates, but for what? Cross Stitch mostly.
They're not even extensive, and the items are 90% things no one even wants.

No, something like this makes sense. I just don't know how we could get enough people to have an impact in such short time, and if a week would really be long enough to make an impact at all.

I wish we could see some projection charts or something to see how much of an impact it would really have on Gaia's profits.

Maybe if we set the week for, Oct. 22-28, that would give us around 3 weeks to gather any data/stats we would like and also enough time to gather members. A week may not be very long, but it's all we really could ask of regular GC purchasers. I think the fastest way to gain members is through forums, find forum regulars, see what they are saying about Gaia, and if they feel the same way we do, they can change their sig and whatnot. Also contact OP's of very popular threads, and maybe they can add some kind of image/text/information about the boycott in their opening post. Again just spewing out ideas. xd

No, if you have any ideas on where we could start spreading out, please feel free to start talking to people.
I usually only ever get on at work, and I still have my charity to run with a Halloween event on the way, so I'm a bit swamped at the moment.

There are a few other people interested in doing something like this with the CB. I'll find their usernames and quote you with them. Maybe we can get a few different people together to spread out and cover different forums?

I think the artists have had pretty much just the same types of items spewed out and they ran out of ideas
Winners of those contests surrender the design and are not able to use it for things if they accept the item to be made.
Just thought I would remind people of that

I guess we should look at how Gaia is still willing to take user submitted ideas for items.
But is it because they want to do that or spend all their artists' talent on things they can charge real money for?

I haven't been impressed with a single gold shop release in a long time.
Users must be submitting better items than what I'm seeing. There are so many talented people on here.

Hey ladies, just throwing ideas around, and OP suggested I converse with you two. Would you think it's a good idea, if we tried to set a week aside in October to try and get as many members as possible to boycott GC? We could set it a few weeks from now, and advertise it in our sigs and whatnot. I know it's asking a lot for some people to outright stop buying GC until things change. Well that may not be anytime soon. So let's set aside one specific week, to gather all the members. Users like us can boycott until we see change, but let's reach out to the other members who want to still buy GC, but aren't ready to full out boycott it for what could be months. I'm working on new sig banner/art as I write this. Please let me know what you think. biggrin
