as much as i love the idea of this thread [[ and i really do love the idea of this thread, don't get me wrong ]],
gaia is in so deep with their money-grubbing ways that it will take every single gaia user to stop buying gcash for any
amount of time in order for change to be made. which, in all honesty, change NEEDS to be made and i refuse to spend
any more of my hard-earned, real-life money on gaia cash. especially now as a twenty-two year old adult who needs to spend her money on rent, food, and bills
i've been an active member of gaia since 2004, back in the good ol' days. i was pissed when they re-designed the site
for the first time, then got used to it, then kinda pissed again when they re-designed things AGAIN, found bettergaia
and fell in love with their site layout. this year has been especially hard on gaians, especially the old ones, because
we're in june, for christ's sake, and the markets are so ******** even my boyfriend who has no affiliation with gaia
what-so-ever will rant about the horror of what gaia is doing to their marketplace.
good guy gaia used to be the one who would release new gold shop items every few months and then have really awesome
monthly collectibles for that month only. they released new, exciting items instead of re-colouring the same five items over
and over and over and over and over again. yeah, it's cool to have more color choices with items, but come on. where's the
creativity in that? you release one new item a week and the rest of the week is just filled with shitty re-colors.
now, good guy gaia makes a shitty gold sink, rewards you with some bugs, and then releases another GG an hour later that's
75% off and can get you up to 105bil. i'm guilty of having splurged in the past because i wanted the lovely RIGs because you
could get some really awesome items from them. the last two RIGs they've released, have been full of shitty items that aren't
worth anything and it's not worth it to me to have to spend $10 to MAYBE make a couple of million off of some pixels.
watching my quest item go from being 74bil (which was already pretty unreachable for me) to being over 125bil OVER NIGHT
because gaia released more GGs is sickening to me. i spent 24bil on a single item that had three poses and my boyfriend
made fun of me for it. because, let's be honest, it is truly and absolutely ridiculous to do something like that.
and, honestly, if it weren't for the interactive and highly in-depth forum system, i wouldn't be here. because the entire reason
i joined was because of roleplaying and that's why i've stayed and part of me doesn't even want to do that any more even
though it's been a major part of my life for the last ten years.
