Gaia is spiralling down into a pitiful death and we're all watching it happen - and the staff does nothing but keep quiet, pretend like they care about Gaians, and do everything in their own interests.
EVERYONE can see that all this GCash s**t is becoming way too greedy. They are literally recoloring the s**t out of everything. $75 for old ideas.

Apparently if you say anything bad with the name of the CEO you can get banned?

That Flynn is the downfall of the entire site. A ton of users are going to other avatar sites.

A long time ago "a dog" read a forum where a user wouldn't spend another dollar on gaia because they had already spent $2,500.00. It was all to support the site and to make sure it didn't go bankrupt. But she got banned and her forum deleted because she complained that gaia didn't change and that it was a big lie and that they were all just greedy.

my name is James i joined this site on an alternate account in 09 and fell in love with this site, after a while real life complications happened and i had forgotten the site. i was browsing a forum on another page i frequent and i heard the name "Gaia" and it was a post for items added from my fandom. i was overjoyed to see it again! i remembered zOMG had just come out and how big the community was and buying things was fun because it was simple and easy, earn honest gold and eventually it would pay off into being an item you really wanted. i came back recently. in the six days here i have noticed the community has just simply died. ive been questing for this item since i joined six days ago. it was the reason i found the site again in the first place, its 3...MILLION...gold. Admins, how in the blueberry ******** am i supposed to do that? i could just earn it like the old days but even zOMG has been nerfed! i can earn a max of 50k a day. and thats it. Gaia, it makes me very sad, borderline depressed to see the site i once loved in this condition. this Flynnflation business has got to stop. I'm very seriously considering leaving and im not the only one who feels this way.


Please, fix this and bring the community back!

No kidding! I was in the forums last night and so many people posted that they were leaving! I still hang around but now I kind of just lurk. It's not fun here anymore and everything is expensive.

I have never used real cash to buy items on this site.
At the most, it would be for an existing achievement.

But Gaia now is advertising items by gaia cash by the minute.
A huge downfall. Seems to me a bit lop-sided for Gaia to use the site as a source of income.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've spent less on Gaia in the last two years than I ever have in the seven years I've been here, purely on principle from how ridiculous it's gotten. If there are other users like that, and there probably are a huge amount, Gaia has a lot to rework if they want to even stay afloat in the future. I used to donate every month. When the cash shop first came out, and spent on it here and there. Now I won't at all.

I honestly think that if there were a group of 10000 people in a thread and they all agreed to quit on the same date it would at LEAST get their attention. And show "hey if your gunna ******** up and do things the hard way, Gaia will just ******** quit!" go ahead keep with the 15 notices a day for GCash and keep raising market prices, you'll lose Ten Thousand of your players! alot of us are casual players who occasionally buy stuff here and there 20 bucks every month with, maybe a larger spend every other month. you know what? we'll just quit. go ahead lose your remaining players! there are plenty of sites other than this that we could use, like the guy a little while ago posted there is Solia online, and hell there's even Runescape. Gaia we wish that we could stay we really do but at this point we don't really have a choice.

A lot of people have gone to solia and other places. I was on this morning and there was a couple announcements...I come back hours later and there was five more. X_X

In the beginning the animal avi's were okay with me but the longer I stare at them the more pathetic they look and i just feel really let down...even the ones available for gold are a rip off.

Don't complain when the site dies. Those that spend bc are helping keep this site alive.

The point is that we shouldn't be expected to shell out upwards of $50US or the equivalent each week just to keep the site afloat just because of greedy and/or incompetent management. I don't begrudge Gaia Online a few bucks here and there, but I can't--and WON'T--shell out money I don't have to keep the site going if it's just going to turn into a Facebook clone. I'm on disability, and I haven't got a lot of money to begin with, even without the economy having been driven down the toilet by our so-called leaders in Congress (yes, I'm blaming BOTH sides!). I know that a lot of businesses are hurting for cash, even now, but that is NO reason to try and stick it to people like us who don't have a lot to spare to begin with!

Gaia's admins seem to have forgotten that their target audience is teenagers (who are on allowances or have part-time, minimum wage jobs) and twenty-somethings (who are either jobless because of the screwed up economy or in college part- or full-time and have no spare cash to speak of). They obviously assume that just because the site needs X million dollars per month that they can just take it from us and not give us anything in return. That's why threads like this exist--to show them that WE are the ones that support this site. If it weren't for us Gaians, Gaia Online would still be Lanzer's personal web page!

The problem is not so much Flynn's as the fact that the Cash Shop's most expensive item costs $120 in real money! This isn't just unfair, it's positively obscene! I'm about ready to say to Hell with Gaia and go over to Second Life or another site that wants ME, not just my money!

Enough is enough! This has gone way too far, and it MUST stop!
