There are other ways to earn money for a site than forcing people to pay real money. I agree with this all.
I agree wholeheartedly. It's one thing to offer the occasional premium item, but it seems as though all the items worth buying lately require real cash to purchase. And yet, what do we get for our money? Look at how many
years it took the developers to add a second area to towns, or new regions to zOMG. And why bother to have the world map if all it's for is to look pretty. If Gaia Online wants to become a hybrid of IMVU and Facebook, then they can do it without me. As my signature implies, I came here to roleplay and have fun, not to be fleeced of my hard-earned money.
Gaia Online, I am not a cash cow to be milked, nor a golden sheep to be fleeced. And if the powers that be here can't understand that, then it's time for me to go elsewhere. And as for inactive/banned/unwanted accounts, why the hell can't they modify the user database to allow account deletion? If World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XI, and pretty much every other MMO in existence can do it without their systems crashing, why can't virtual communities like Gaia or social media sites like Facebook do it as well? Or would it take an act of the US Congress to get things changed?
